The menu has some really unique dishes like the Chicken St. Charles Benedict and the French Toast bites we ordered for the table, had both and WOW, were they good! New brunch location in the heart of downtown Franklin. They have a great Cajun-style menu. I love eggs Benedict and Ruby Sunshine has a nice variety of eggs Benedict options. And the best thing about it is, you can order "the peacemaker" which allows you to mix and match two types of eggs Benedict options. I ordered the eggs cochon and shrimp boogaloo Benedict's. Both were very good and shrimp was very fresh. My co-worker ordered the chicken st. Charles Benedict and the friend chicken was nicely flavored and fried to perfection. My other co-worker ordered the Grilled fish St. Peter which was swordfish and gulf shrimp over cheesy grit cake and I'd never had grits like those. It really complimented the dish. The cocktail menu looks really good. I'll have to make the time to try next time...because there will definitely be a next time! read more

With there, not being very many breakfast options in the downtown Franklin area, this one is a consistent go to when bringing friends to town. I like that you can join their waitlist online ahead of time without a huge wait. The servers I've had have been kind, patient with my kids & ready to give good suggestions. I enjoy the breakfast hash and a vanilla latte most times I visit but their French toast is very very good. I had a day off and decided to check out this new place in town. It was a weekday in the morning and was seated right away. The wait staff was nice and attentive. Thought it was too early to drink for a slight second, but its 5pm somewhere - right? So we partook in a mimosa and a Bloody Mary. Mimosa was good, however the Bloody Mary was awesome! Since we couldn't decide on what to eat, loved that you can mix and match the pancakes. So we had one Banana Pecan pancake and one Cinammon Swirl. The Cinammon Swirl was delicious however definitely rich, so one is enough to share. The Banana Pecan was okay, not to thrilling and way too many pecans. We also mixed and match their Benedicts too. The Benedicts come on a biscuit. The biscuit is huge and they are okay, but we are in the South and I've had better biscuits. We choose the Eggs Cochon and the Chicken St. Charles. The pork on the Eggs Cochon was delicious and a great combo of flavors overall. The Chicken St. Charles was okay but probably wouldn't order again. Overall food was okay, and drinks were awesome. Definitely a fun brunch place. Slightly over priced, but then again not too many brunch places in the immediate area. I would give it them a 3.5 star rating, if I could. read more

Still a fan but on our return trip noticed a couple of things. First, you will want to use the YELP wait list feature, especially on weekends. We used this as we were bringing 5 on a Saturday. Worked great. We saw other large parties disappointed because they showed up and found a wait of an hour plus. You're already here on YELP so take advantage of that! I had a Ruby Mimosa. Very tasty but it was served in a plastic glass. Not a fan of using plastic glassware unless I'm poolside or on the beach. It's probably cheaper for the business, but this is a pretty upscale place so it surprised me. I also ordered a Peacemaker, which is a pick 2 versions of their eggs Benedict's, a great option when they all sound so good! I chose Eggs Blackstone, which I had before, and the Smoked Salmon. Both were so good! My only negative is the yolk on one of the eggs (which are supposed to be poached in an Eggs Benedict) was fully cooked. They should be runny so that when you cut in you get that beautiful yolk running over your biscuit. Still tasted wonderful and both of mine had enough sauce but my husband ordered the Hot Catfish Benedict (a seasonal special) and it could have used the runny yolk as it was a bit dry. Great brunch spot! My food was excellent and the service was great. I would recommend getting on their waitlist an hour before you want to eat so you aren't hit with too much of a wait when you get there. This was a welcomed find on our trip back to our old home town (Franklin). It exceeded our expectations on every level. The food, the value, the easy to understand menu but mostly, the service. Kyle K made us feel comfortable and helped us find the best item on the menu for each of us. Can't say enough about his enthusiasm for making our breakfast great. The whole team seemed to be committed to great customer service. When walking past our table they would offer to top off our beverages with coffee or water whether it was their table or not. Pretty disappointed with the food here. I was so excited to try ruby sunshine and it was just ok. The photos look amazing and the menu sounds delightful. The pulled pork Benedict was a let down. It lacked in flavor especially the hollandaise sauce-it didn't taste like a Benedict at all. I couldn't tell if one half of the Benedict was on a biscuit and the other half on an English muffin. It was good to try this on a day where there was no wait but I still felt like the service was lacking. I was here on a Tuesday afternoon and the restaurant was about 95% empty so it's not clear to me why the service was still slow. Perhaps covid related. I didn't get silverware until I had finished eating my biscuit. I suppose we all need to be armed with extra patience when dining out these days. On the plus side, I found street parking fairly easily. I would be really angry if I had spent time waiting to eat here. read more

My family loves brunch, and so we HAD to try Ruby Sunshine because they only serve breakfast food! We came by on a Sunday and they had 1/2 off mimosas, such a great deal and they were huge!! Other tasty brunch cocktails included peach belliini, Bloody Mary, etc. For brunch I got the fried chicken biscuit sliders with gravy. The Tasso ham in the gravy is delicious, I got it on the side and ended up eating it all anyway! My mouth is watering just writing this review remembering how tasty their food is. You can't go wrong with the breakfast tacos or shrimp and grits, but my absolute favorite is the sweet heat chicken and French toast bites. The chicken is crispy, just the right amount of spicy, and goes so well with their French toast. I usually don't love French toast because it is soggy to me, but theirs had a crispy outside and soft inside. Great location as well. If you can't find street parking, the garage around the corner is free! Plus you get to look at downtown Franklin while you eat. read more

I'm just pulling the last of my fried green tomatoes with that delicious bacon onion jam out of my air fryer and I figured I had to share how awesome everything was! The server was running so quick that when they dropped stuff off at our table it would spill onto the table and they split just as fast. Fantastic food- abysmal customer service. I work in an office locally, and Ruby Sunshine is a nightmare to deal with. My people love their food- as they should! It's delicious, to say the least. Their eggs benedict are an experience. That being said... Worst customer service around. This is from someone who is forced to order from them several times a year. I'm on my 7-8 order with them, and each time the waiters/staff have been miserable. When they're not looking you in the eye as they ignore you, they've disappeared for 40 minutes to the back of house. And these have all been times when there are under 10 customers, and servers and wait-staff all over. But they never fail to blow me off as I wait to pick up an order, or wait at a table. For one of my co-workers birthdays, we waited 1.5 hours, and eventually got cold food at different intervals. And we were the only group there. I consider myself very friendly and non-needy, so I don't know really know why the staff treats everyone like they've earned their derision. The food may be good, but it's not worth the treatment. They're just a miserable bunch. read more

This is the absolutely the worst breakfast I've ever eaten in a restaurant. Everything was incredibly bland. The coffee was weak and bitter. I love pancakes. It's pretty tough to screw up pancakes but they managed to make the flattest pancakes with zero flavor. The only good thing was the bacon. To top it off, it was expensive. Over medium egg still had liquid white. Bacon was flimsy and not crispy whatsoever. I'm pretty sure 95% of the population agrees: crispy bacon is preferred. Make this your go-to. People aren't getting out much these days, so when they do, they expect properly cooked meat, at the very least. Older patrons (we were out with my 93 year old grandfather) don't like using a QR code menus or "contactless" payment options. Offer regular menus and let them know you'll take their card. I understand the covid thing has thrown everything for a loop, but you've already touched our water glasses...you touching a menu isn't going to be the major germ factor. I don't know what it is about modern host staff at restaurants, but they never get adequate training. They sat us and our stroller at a booth near the kitchen. So the poor waitstaff had to constantly walk around our stroller. Also, moms with babies NEED to be able to push away from the table, and a booth is not copacetic for that. Furthermore, they later sat another family with a baby across from us, further impeding the traffic. Geometry plays a role in seating tables, and your host staff needs to learn that. read more
