I am willing to give a restaurant a chance and that's why I am willing to spend $25 dollars on Bake pork chop rice dish but didn't have a high expectation to it. As expected it is a total disappointment and is a false advertisement. There is no pork chop instead there were sliced pork meat. Don't call in Hong Kong style if it's not even close. In Hong Kong the rice should be fried rice with pork chop on top and tomato sauce, they put white rice instead. This restaurant charges $25 for sliced pork on white rice with tomato sauce. It was the first and last time for me to buy anything from this restaurant RIP. read more

Wow, I finally got to try the chicken bao today and it is probably the best fried chicken sandwich I've ever had! It was perfectly crunchy yet the chicken was still moist, slaw was perfect complement and sauce had a little kick to it to balance out the sweet bun. I ordered the cucumber salad as a side and it was spicy and refreshing. I lucked out on a rainy day and grabbed parking right in front. I'll be back to try more stuff! read more

There's nothing wrong with the food. I went in to buy a hot soy milk, paid for it, only to be told its not ready yet. I don't have the time to wait. They offered me cold soy milk. I was fine with it. What I didn't like is that, they then told me there's a price difference and they will waive it. I didn't asked for cold to begin with. I o came and ordered a bunch of their popular items for my family for the first time recently. The fried chicken bolo bun was pretty good and worth it. The fried doughs were fine too. Everything else was very mediocre. The sampan porridge was not good at all and portion was very small. Cheung fun had a good texture but the sesame and hoisin sauce was just off. I recalled the previous owners had VERY good cheung fun (sauce and all). The steamed char siu bao was terrible - bun was hard, char siu not good. My daughter loves char siu bao and she took one bite and wouldn't eat any more. Overall this was overpriced and not very good. Do not visit this restaurant; their menu is almost deceptive. Every time I went, they either didn't have what I ordered or were missing something. I wanted to say, if you're running a restaurant, how can you not have popular items in stock? The quality of their food and drinks is also poor, far from authentic Guangzhou cuisine. This is a neighborhood breakfast place with very good Cantonese breakfast selections. The place is very small and with few stools so come early or get takeout. People are super friendly and they even know half of customers' names. I wish I lived near by this place. read more

Ordered takeout of the Sichaun Veg Bao, Curry Fish Balls, Beef Brisket Cheung Fun, Sesame + Hoisin Cheung Fun, and the cold soy milk. While I thoroughly enjoyed each and every single dish and it did bring back a lot of nostalgia, I will say the price does seem a little high for what you get. But that won't stop me from coming back whenever the cravings hit! The highlight for me were the fishballs which were plump, tender, bouncy, and paired so well with the mildly spicy curry sauce. These definitely brought me back to my childhood days when I would munch on them after school around the local cafes in Chinatown. Let's put it out there: the food is not cheap, affordable but not cheap from other Chinese bakery standpoint; but the quality is there, and therefore the value. The style and type of Hong Kong eatery food that they sell makes them a niche eatery. Their buns are good, not cheap; but filled with actual quality filling as opposed to gravy or some other filler like other bakeries. Fried chicken bolo bao is a perfect mix of big crispy, tender chicken and slightly sweet bread. The lava egg yolk bao is stuffed with perfect liquidy filling (tip: if you're going to share, then open it inside the bag because the yummy filling will explode out, or just don't share :) ). HK milk tea and Yeun yeung (half coffee-half milk tea) is legit. Congee had great flavor. Spam bolo bao is a great contrast of salty and sweet. Service was super nice and friendly. So far so good, Ordered the Fried Chicken Bolo, Rubato Saman Congee, Curry Fishballs, and a Cold Brew. Fried Chicken Bolo would probably be my go to for my chicken sandwich in the Quincy area. The Bolo surprisingly compliments the fried chicken really well. Warning: It is very crumbly, approach with caution. I really liked the curry fishballs as well, pretty standard, crunchy and a decent size, yet still very good. The Rubato Saman Congee was flavorful and worth the price. Overall would say its pretty good value and will try some more of the items next time. read more

I loved this place. Simple food. Simple set up. Stool seats only for about 5 customers. The food was surprising: homemade, delicious, dirt cheap, and fast. I basically got one of everything. the food is absolutely fantastic. we got the rubato sampan congee, a lava egg yolk bao, sichuan veg bao, the special beef curry, the fried chicken bolo and the spam bolo. so much food for three people -- we ended up not being hungry into the evening, and also had leftovers to-go. flavorful and oh goodness the texture of the dough on the bao, the chewiness of the cheung fun, the crispiness on the chicken... a disclaimer that i met the chef (Laurence) through a mutual friend when he was working at a hand-pulled noodle shop in Guangzhou many years ago, and was so thrilled to hear that he was opening up a bakery/cafe in the Quincy area. he and his team are such good people -- we shared some laughs with the woman at the register, and talking to Laurence, it is clear that he is so passionate and thoughtful about the food he makes and the way that he makes it. the space is also so beautiful and modern. excited to come back again! read more

I have been trying to find a restaurant that serving cheung fun that can remind me of HK, bringing back old memories. This place did it. All the other food I had tried so far are good. The super cashier/ manager, chef, and all other staffs are very friendly. I feel that the chef takes good care and serious of making high quality food, run their business as efficient and eco friendly as possible.
