    Crispy sweet and sour pork
    Chris T.

Came back to try to noodz! Most my friends liked this dish, it's definitely a just right portion, not too little not too much. Came hot and has a generous amount of the black bean sauce. Now i don't know much about this dish but i believe this is more the Taiwanese style vs korean (so I'm told but didn't confirm with the staff) I thought overall it's a good dish and worth the try with a side app of their fried pork with spicy sweet and sour. The black bean sauce i was definitely looking for a tad bit more saltiness and it would be perfect for me but overall yummy.

There are not too many Korean-Chinese restaurants around, even with limited items. I wanted to try the Korean cuisine restaurant, but many items were still coming soon, so we picked this restaurant. We ordered the jjamppong, jajangmyeon, cream shrimp, and sweet and sour pork. Jjamppong and jjajangmyeon used the same type of noodles. Jajangmyeon, lack of ingredients, one piece of each kind of seafood. The cream shrimp was over-fried, and the sauce was okay. The sweet and sour pork had too much batter and the sauce had too much vinegar, the sauce was more sour than sweet. I probably won't try this restaurant again, but with the 20% discount, it's okay. Four dishes are around $52, including a discount. I have no complaints.

4.2/5! Got the jajangmyeon to go and the flavor was great. Wish there was a bit more of the pork meat to enhance the umami, but otherwise, the Paik's at Quincy is pretty comparable to the ones in California! Will come back to try the jjampong at this chain.

Mapo tofu with dry/hard rice and bland Sweet and Sour Chicken. 0/10
    Amy C.

I ordered a mapo tofu and sweet & sour chicken to try out. Pricing seemed a bit steep for the mapo tofu because it was 60% rice and only 40% mapo tofu. The rice was also super hard as if it was made a few days ago. The sweet & sour chicken was very bland and mainly tasted like black pepper. Since the food was not good, we decided to bring the rest home to try to make it "edible." They charged us $1 per container. The tables in the food court were all sticky and there was no staff cleaning it after each guest. Extremely disappointed by the food and experience.

This place is located in HMart's 'food court'. Just like food court's food, the food here is okay. I ordered their chilly jjajangmyeon and tangsugyuk (sweet and sour pork). It took about 10 minutes to have my order ready, so service time was acceptable in my book. The pork dish was okay. It's meant to be sweet and sour but it was still too sweet for my taste buds. The noodle dish was decent. However, I do expect that it's spicier. Overall for a food court food, Paik's noodles didn't disappoint.

Got the combo, which came with two jajangmyeon and one sweet and sour chicken. The service is fast since you order and pick up your food at the counter. The food itself was just okay. The Jajangmyeon sauce was a bit watery compared to the other times I've tried it. The sweet and sour chicken tasted good but didn't feel worth the price. All the flavor comes from the dipping sauce that comes with it. It is quite a large portion though. The overall vibe is what you'd expect from a typical mall food court spot. Overall it's a nice place to come to for a quick meal.

    No 10 stir fried noodle

Ordered a number 10 stir fried noodles. Almost no protein in it but lots of onion and noodles. And probably a lot of MSG as well. Would not eat there again.

Solid and delicious noodles. We stopped by the Hmart Food Court, and Paik's noodle was very popular. We decided to try the jajamyeong which came out to be roughly 8 dollars (after 20% discount) which is great! The portion was very generous, and they gave us a lot of sauce as well. The actual jajamyeong was delicious, but any Korean jajamyeong is more bland and bean tasting; so beware if you're looking not looking for that... other wise I enjoyed the flavor and connivence. Our service was good & it was slightly faster than the other restaurants we ordered from. Must try if you're near Hmart.

love this place. for the price, the portions are great (a whole bowl of black bean noodles for under 11$, in this economy? a steal). tried it a couple of times and had some friends drive over from another city just to try it and they weren't disappointed. love the mapo tofu and even though it looks like it's too much rice it actually a perfect amount to mix in with the saucy part. I recommend this place to all my coworkers and live coming to try their different dishes.

Yummy, I love this place. I got the spicy Chicken last time and it was amazing. This time I got Stir fry Noodles and it was fire!

We ordered a rice roll as usual--the female owner accidentally handed the dish to another table, and it sat there for about five minutes or so, while the couple was talking over the dish. Then the female owner apparently realized the dish was handed to the wrong table, she took it back into the kitchen (as a deception, thinking we wouldn't realize it's the same dish, we saw her through the curtain, she was holding the same dish the whole time--she didn't know we were watching and rightfully suspicious of what she was sneakily doing), then brought it out right back to our table. We did not want to say anything. But it was disgusting, people do spit onto the dish when they talk over it during those five minutes, you know? We were too shy to cause a scene or destroy the long standing relationship. Further, we couldn't afford to let that $12 or so dish go to waste. So we tried eating it. Afterward, we felt so disgusted. And that was the last time we went to Big Fun Cafe. Two years or so ago. Even after learning of its new location in Brookline, we are just so disgusted by the memory of the incident described above -- so we never tried their Brookline location. Note to the owners: for future customers, such mistakes do happen, but please have some integrity and just discard/trash the contaminated dish -- or if you want to be so cheap, eat the contaminated dishes yourself. Don't be so stingy and deceptive so as to hand it to your presumed naive customers. That was extremely disgusting and even two years later, we're still disgusted by it.

There used to be a Bank of America ATM right across the street but it seems like it is no longer there unfortunately. Their biang biang noodles are fire & you really can't go wrong with getting the dry version or with soup. Honestly, this has been my favorite spot to get noodles lately. Last week, I literally went here almosevery day for dinner (I wish I was kidding). My favorite dishes to order from here include: - Cumin Lamb Biang Biang Noodles - Cumin Lamb Biang Biang Noodle Soup - Fish Filet with Chili Pepper - Chongching Chicken with Chili Pepper Visually, the dishes don't look like generous portions but actually they're quite filling! The cumin lamb Biang Biang noodles (w/o soup) is generally my go-to because it's SO FLAVORFUL. The lamb is cooked well & doesn't taste gamey at all. It's a tad spicy but won't kill you hahaha. They do have another version of this dish that comes with soup & it's a great option if you're feeling a soup. This also has amazing flavor but of course, not as flavorful as the dry version since it comes with soup. I highly recommend getting the fish filet with chili peppers if you love a fried fish! They make it incredibly crispy without making the fish taste dry. This is perfect with a bowl of rice. Now, the chongching chicken wings have to be the spiciest dish out of my favorites. This is a great snack! I usually get this to share if I'm eating here with a group or if I'm getting takeout, I'll get this as an entree. The pieces are crispy, spicy, and juicy. What more can you ask for? SO GOOD. For dine in, it is Cash Only. If you do takeout and don't have cash/want to go grab cash, what I like to do is order through UberEats. This way, it charges credit card & you can just go in to pick it up or choose for delivery.

Chili Square is a small Chinese restaurant specializing in hand-pulled noodles and Northwestern…read moreChinese cuisine. We walked into a simple, modest space with only a handful of tables, the kind of casual neighborhood eatery where the focus is clearly on the food rather than the surroundings. The dining room was tight and functional, with a no-frills setup that kept the attention on the noodles coming out of the kitchen. The energy was practical and unpretentious, and the steady flow of customers reflected its reputation as a destination for anyone craving authentic Chinese noodle dishes. The hand-pulled noodles are the highlight of the menu. We ordered a few different styles and found the Biang Biang noodles standing out with their wide, chewy texture that held up well to the bold sauces. The Lanzhou beef noodle soup offered a lighter broth paired with freshly stretched noodles that had a clean, satisfying bite. The spicy lamb hand-pulled noodles were another popular choice, combining tender meat with a flavorful sauce that had a satisfying amount of heat. Beyond the noodles, the cumin lamb burger, steamed dumplings, and cold skin noodles provided plenty of variety if we wanted to explore more of the menu. Each dish arrived hot and well assembled, and the portions were generous for the price. The restaurant operates with a very straightforward, self-service style. Seating is limited, and the dining room fills up quickly during busy hours, so waiting for a table is common. The service is fairly minimal, with the emphasis placed on getting the food out rather than providing a full-service dining experience. Water and utensils are self-serve, and the overall experience feels more like grabbing an authentic meal than dining somewhere with polished hospitality. It is also worth knowing that Chili Square is cash only, so planning ahead will save you from any surprises when it is time to pay. The staff moved through the room efficiently, and the noodles came out hot and freshly pulled. Overall, Chili Square is a great choice if you are looking for authentic hand-pulled noodles and bold Northwestern Chinese flavors. The small space, cash-only policy, and simple service require a little flexibility, but the freshly made noodles and generous portions make it well worth the visit if the food is your main priority.
