I find myself coming here a lot during the winter LOL just this past month (November), I think I've been here 3-4 times. My family was just in town from Florida and they were craving hotpot. I knew I had to take them here. The truffle maki changed their lives on the first bite LOL. All I could say was, uh huh, I told you. We ended up ordering like 5 rolls. The service is ALWAYS A1. The staff is super nice and wonderful. From the host to the waiter/waitress to the lady that grabs your plates and utensils. My last visit I had the pleasure to talk to Shawn. Not sure if he part of the owners there but it was a good conversation. It made my family felt welcomed. It's always good when you go to an establishment to dine it and the customer service is good. It makes your dine in experience great and makes the food taste great. Definitely will be coming back more and more now that the cold weather is here. TIP : splurge and get the premium. Shorts ribs, lamb skewers, and truffle maki is a MUST try.

First time to this hotpot all you can eat . Not a big fan ever of all you can eat but it could have been better with their broth . Kimchi broth lacks of flavor . Could have been more thicker , but the veggies and meat were pretty decent . Services was great . Sushi and Sashimi could have been better in quality .

This is probably the best AYCE hot pot around. This place is large and has a fun atmosphere. The service was quick and the food comes quickly. I got the premium hot pot which includes hot pot and sushi. I tried the sashimi which had excellent choices. The hot pot was also excellent and all the meats I tried were great. I definately would come back here.

So the newly branded Toppot, a tad high on price imo compared to competitors in Boston but welcome addition to the south shore. Changed over from ichiban, layout is pretty much the same! The booths are nice and spacious, room for bday parties, and everything is clean. The service was good, ladies taking way empty plates as you go. You can still order from their al la carte dinner menu and lunch combinations Chinese food but now the new AYCE hotpot. Different pricing structure for weekdays and weekends, as well as lunch. Meat cuts come out pretty small, the ribeye was the best cut in my opinion texture and flavor wise. The broths were lacking and they have their own pricing tier. Which i find crazy all these hot pot places charging. We got the pork bone and tomyum. Porkbone broth was really lacking flavor, singular pork bone and just didn't have the depth. The tomyum was fine and the paste they use had that signature tomyum flavor so we were biased to that side. We'll probably try Mongolian / mala next time. The shrimp paste easily better fish paste They got mussels, clams, white fish fillets, salmon fillets, sushi, sashimi, all that so many items! Wish they had fish roe dumplings. In the premium set ($48? A person) you can get their skewers. The spicy bbq has good flavor, liked it more than the garlic butter style. Our first set came out and was room temp / cold when we got them: the next set was hot, our server made sure of it and it was much better. Limit to 20 skewers per ticket. The sashimi was fresh, the fishes we chosen from premium menu, white tuna, tuna, yellowtail. They have salmon etc too. Appetizer crab rangoons, love that style wrap, mainly cream cheese and a bit of imitation crab meat like most. Wish it had some onion or scallion in there for texture, switch of flavor but dig em anyways. Edamame wasn't for me, didn't finish it needs some sort of seasoning ours had a pinch of salt that was non existent. Desert each person gets 1 choice of ice cream or mochi, i would probably get the ice cream next time! Mochi does come out individually wrapped and froze so hold it over your HP for a little bit to let it soften up. Spider and truffle rolls were good. They had live DJ at night, music trivia to win $15 GCs and karaoke. Sound system is good in there, clear music. Overall clean space, close by, many many dinner menu options or AYCE menu. I would say 3.5/5 overall, but staff was super nice, quick to clean, and accommodating. Owners seem nice per usual! Room for improvement (sauce bar, but least it's included) enjoyed my experience at the end of the day.

Top Pot is located in Braintree/Quincy and replaced the old Ichiban (AYCE sushi/hotpot) that was in this same location for many years. I think it's still the same owners running it from the previous business or at least recognized many of the staff. They offer AYCE hotpot & sushi, with two options: regular & premium. The premium menu includes meat skewers, sashimi, slightly better options for making rolls, more appetizers, & ribeye/shortrib/beef tongue. We opted for the premium option since I wanted sashimi. Some items we ordered: Broths: tomyum & Japanese bone broth Meats: ribeye, short rib, & beef tongue Seafood: scallops, clams, white fish, shrimp paste, fish paste Vegetables: tongho Sushi/sashimi: salmon, tuna, white tuna, yellowtail, truffle maki, spider maki Appetizers: crab rangoons, edamame, a dozen skewers including beef, lamb, & chicken (spicy & garlic butter) Dessert: mango & green tea ice cream mochi All right, so the broths were just okay... nothing special. The Japanese bone broth was very bland & lacked depth, very much so tasted like water with lots of salt. The Tom yum was slightly better & had more flavorful, likely straight out of flavoring packets or the paste. 2/5 for broths. The meats were also just okay, very small cuts & portions. Ribeye was the best out of the ones we ordered. Seafood, white fish was standard, shrimp paste is much better than the fish paste, clams were tiny, and scallops were small but okay. 3/5. Sushi and sashimi were fresh enough. I liked that they didn't try to pack too much rice for the rolls. Remember to not over order, $2/piece of sushi unfinished. The only roll that to think was worth getting is the truffle maki. 3/5. Now the appetizers, I think the two dishes I enjoyed of all that we ordered was probably the seaweed salad likely prepackaged & the crab Rangoons haha. Our first order of the skewers, all 6 skewers came cold. Yes they were "fried" but they were cold and not hot, even when it first arrived to our table. 2/5. For dessert, we got matcha and mango mochi ice cream. Both came very much frozen. Hard as rocks & had to warm up using the steam from the hotpot. 3/5. Overall, I would rate their food a solid 2.5/5, mostly because I didn't find their food quality to be all that great, especially for the price/pp. $48/pp is a very steep AYCE price that is not considered high end... very casual. This is the price for weekend dinner per person. During our dining experience, today they had song trivia & I won two of the song trivia games and received gift cards as a result. That was fun! The staff was also nice and our server was great, though did forget a couple of the items we ordered but it's all right. Would I come back again? Maybe. This is one of the only AYCE hotpot AND sushi spots in the area left, which is one of the reasons for why we decided to come try today. I would say if you are looking for AYCE that has both hotpot and sushi, come here BUT for the price, it is very steep for what they offer. I truly don't think you get your moneys worth & not to mention, they charge extra for broths! Range for broths is ~$11-$48... at least the sauce bar is free. Parking: good amount of parking in their free lot.

Service was top notch. Servers are very helpful in maintaining the hot pot broth level. It's perfect choice for cold weather. They have plenty of options of broth and meat selection in their menu. I ordered their Mongolian and Japanese pork bone broth. Mongolian broth is not as spicy as expected, if you are into spicy food, go for their mala broth

Top pot is where Ichiban used to be! Unsure if it's same or different management. My friend and I came for lunch on Wednesday right when they were opening. We decided to come for lunch as they were having their free soup base lunch special deal until end of the month. The menu is extensive, ranging from different cuts of meat, sushi, and even appetizers. They also have a sauce bar that had the basic sauces. We opted for the premium option and it was amazing. The crab rangoons were thick, the sushi was fresh, and everything was presented beautifully. We had a great time and everything was delicious. We got the tomyum and mala, the mala was eh not that spicy but the tom yum was super flavorful. The reason we went for lunch is because I will say that it is on the more expensive end. It is about 42-46 I believe for premium for lunch or dinner, and that doesn't include the additional price for the broths. Broths is an added price and it is quite expensive, ranging from 4$ for the basic, then 7-16 dollars for half a pot. Definitely a treat to come since I have not really paid that much for soup base. Service was great our waitress was super nice and made sure that we got what we needed. All in all it was a great lunch and food is great, however it is expensive if you go for the all you can eat hotpot sushi.

The interior decor is the best feature of this place! It is beautifully decorated and they have a gorgeous pink flower wall near the bathroom for photo ops. I tried one of the three claw machines that were $2 a try and I lost :( (I am a claw machine addict) We got the regular hot pot and sushi buffet and there were a decent amount of options. I got the Tom Yum and Miso soup base which were super flavorful. Tom Yum is like a sweet and sour tomato based broth and Miso is a nice umami rich flavor. I recommend getting the sirloin, fatty beef, lamb, shrimp, nappa cabbage, mushrooms, and taro for hot pot. These items are a staple and must get at every hot pot. The sirloin here is super rich and holds the broth very well. It is also cut into a decent size. Shrimp and other seafoods we got were fresh and big in size as well. For sushi, we got salmon avocado, spicy tuna, eel unagi, negihama, shrimp tempura, and salmon rolls. The sushi was not very good. The rolls were so small so bite size. The rice was dry. There was barely any fish in the rolls, you can barely taste it. Special spotlight on their Fried Mantu! It is so warm and fluffy. It is similar to a warm, light, and fluffy donut and the condensed milk on it was chef's kiss. This place was super empty when we went and the server and busser were very quick to collect our finished plates and attend to us. I think this place is nice for family and friends and they have lots of space for large gatherings. Their hot pot is great but their sushi quality is lacking.

It's an all you can eat spot (AYCE) for hot pot and sushi and some hot appetizers. They have regular/premium menus $30/$42 for lunch Mon-Thurs $34/$46 for dinner Mon-Thurs $36/$48 for Fri-Sun This includes free sauce station but excludes soup base. Looks like they have a promo until 1/31 for free soup base! Soup base ranges from $4-$48 you pick 1, 2 or 3 soup bases, from house to spicy to premium fish maw soup. Fatty beef was yummy, seafood mushroom, daikon, taro, fresh vegetables like napa, watercress. Fish and fish tofu were great. Sushi was fresh, includes some maki rolls in the regular but sashimi options for premium. Large parking lot. Quiet spot. We were the only customers there but Service was a little slow and we had to get up a few times to get their attention.

Great Food Great Service , Family Friendly . Really recommend this place for food, if you like hotpot and sushi , and there lots of yummy appetizers , my kids kept saying so yummy , love the foods.

I sent my husband to ask if we can buy this. The owner opened the case and refused my money. It was such a sweet gesture.

Food: 4/5 Service: 5/5 Went on a Tuesday at 8pm and did hotpot + sushi premium buffet. We're so glad we tried it and were pleasantly surprised by our experience and want to bring our family next time. They have a huge menu for everyone from hotpot, sushi, appetizers, skewers, and Chinese food. The hotpot and sushi were solid for the price (~$35 signature/ $45 premium). The menu was very extensive and we were happy with all the options. My husband loved the Tom yum broth because it was very flavorful compared to other buffets (spicy and sour). I wished they had like a coconut chicken or pork bone broth, but I got herbal instead. The meat and veggies were all fresh. They come in smaller portions and you can order more as you go, which is great to control food waste. They had a variety of condiments from the sauce stations that made a good sauce. Sometimes other places the sauce is too salty. This one was a perfect balance. The sushi was fresher than I thought it would be and we enjoyed it. I loved the appetizers, solid Chinese takeout style wings and crab rangoons. We also got lychee and pina colada slushies that were great. Pros: -Clean environment and spacious seating (has tables w/ double broilers) -Extensive menu (esp. for buffet) that has different tiers -Great and fast service. Our server was so kind and welcoming. Read some reviews about bad customer service, but ours was so sweet and attentive. -Lots of drink options (esp. non-alcoholic) -Nice & clean sauce station with fresh ingredients -Real plates and silverware (not plastic) -Parking lot -did not smell like hotpot during the meal and when we left As I was leaving, I wanted a plushie from the claw machine. I sent my husband in to ask the owner if I could buy it outright instead of playing the machine. The owner ended up opening the machine and refusing our money and gave it to me for free. He definitely made my night. 5 because I hope they do well and it's a great value for the money. Definitely give this place a try and come here hungry.

From the menu, you can order all the meats you want. They pretty much have all the items you would expect from a Chinese hotpot restaurant in the Boston or Quincy area. The meats you order come fast, and you can cook them up in your personal sized hotpot. Between the quick service for the meats and your own ability to refill with any veggies you want, you are almost always eating, and you spend almost no time waiting,. All veggies and meats were well presented, fresh, and tasty. Of interest, this restaurant uses robot waiters to help the human ones. So while you are waiting for the meats you ordered, you will often find a robot cart silently rolling up to your table. As soon as this happens, a waitress will quickly appear next to the robot and hand-carry all your plates of meats from the cart to your table.. This is super useful because sometimes the robot cart will be carrying 15-20 dishes, far more than a single waiter or waitress can carry. So this isn't just a gimmick, but a useful tool that speeds up service. I've gone to Hotpot One a total of 3 times, and my dining experience has been consistent and good. Then Covid came, and this restaurant rebranded itself as an a-la-cart Korean BBQ and sushi restaurant. I tried it once after the rebranding. It was relatively expensive, and neither the hotpot nor the sushi stood out. With food that was middling at best and a higher than average price, I didn't feel it was worth returning to. So I haven't visited this place since 2022. Fast forward to last night, my family stayed up to watch football, and we got hungry and wanted to buy some takeout. Many places that we were interested in were closed by 10 PM, and Royal Hotpot was still open. So we bought several items from them for takeout. We live 20 minutes away and did our own pickup. When we got home with the food, we found the following: I had a beef Bibimbop. 20 minutes after pickup from the restaurant, it was already cold. Not ice cold, but room temperature at best. There was no sauce. You eat a Bibimbop by first pouring in the special Bibimbop sauce and getting its taste onto everything. But, as I said, no sauce. The Bibimbop itself? A relatively small bowl that had plenty of rice, a boatload of seaweed that smelled fishy, and not much beef even when I stirred the food around to find what beef I could. There was not much. So, I put a spoonful of rice into my mouth. All I could taste was the fishiness of the seaweed,. There was no beef taste or any other taste that I could discern. So for almost $30 bucks I got a dry bowl if rice and mostly seaweed that was devoid of any taste you could enjoy. It was basically dry seaweed rice, with very little meat, and no sauce. I have eaten Korean food in general and Bibimbop in particular from maybe 20 restaurants in the Greater Boston area. I would rate this one the worst, by a significant margin, that I have ever had. I ended up putting the entire bowl, after two bites, into the fridge. Why didn't I throw it away? I feed stray cats behind my house, and this will go to the cats tonight. The two mouthfuls that I tried to eat? I spit those out into the garbage because it tasted so vile in my mouth. As for the other order, it was mostly sushi. My family member who absolutely LOVES sushi of any kind did eat his order, but he muttered that it was definitely subpar. So there you have it. If you ever have a yen for Korean or Japanese cuisine and you don't find many places open, don't come to this place. Eat some canned food from home, or make some instant noodles. This place, for me, was an awful choice. After putting Royal Hotpot's food away, I made an instant noodle to fill my hunger. that instant noodle was 5 times better than my expensive takeout. Note: I only give 1 star reviews for food that is literally spoiled, or when restaurant staff give egregiously awful service, 2 stars is the rating I generally give for really bad, unenjoyable food.

The sauce bar was impressive, with tons of bases, oils, herbs, and nut toppings to mix and match. We chose duo broths: the Wild Mixed Mushroom Broth and the Pork Buddy Mala Butter Broth at medium spice. Having one spicy and one mild was perfect, and both had deep, flavorful profiles that got even better as the meal went on. VEGGIE PLATTER The veggie platter came packed with fresh ingredients like lettuce, lotus root, mushrooms, and squash. All the vegetables were crisp and high quality. MEAT ASSORTMENT We ordered wagyu and several cuts of beef, all sliced beautifully and extremely fresh. Everything cooked quickly and soaked up the broth in the best way. SPICY HAMACHI BOMB ROLL This roll with torched hamachi, eel sauce, and mango was delicious and added a nice sushi moment in between the hot pot. NOODLE ASSORTMENT We tried the handmade noodles and sweet potato noodles, both were an epic addition and perfect for finishing the meal as the broth got richer. FRIED VANILLA ICE CREAM Crispy on the outside and cold in the center, it was the perfect sweet ending. Perfect way to end a chilly evening during this soup season.
