However, I found the broth we got (Tom Yum) to be very salty, so we ended up not using the sauce bar that much. The sauce bar was great as well- they had pig ear and a bunch of ingredients to make your own sauce. Most of the stuff didn't have labels though so it was hard to know what sauces were what. Good quality AYCE hot pot for a decent price! They sat us super quickly on a weekend evening and were exceptionally understanding of our rambunctious toddler. The food came out extremely quickly. It's AYCE so you only get one thing at a time as you order to help pace yourself. We had some floaters leftover in the broth by the end because we were so full, and we were not charged extra for it. The sauce bar here is noteworthy - it has just about everything you can imagine as far as hot pot condiments go. It even has unlimited self serve shrimp right in the sauce bar. Most people come to hot pot for the sliced meats but IMHO the veggies here were even better. Came on an early Friday for dinner and we were the first ones here but later got crowded. They have all you can eat sushi, hotpot or both. The meat cuts are your hot pot thin cut meats, broth was tasty but could be elevated. For the price though I've been back here multiple times. They have a sauce cart that you make your dipping sauce on as well as appetizers like crab rangoons. Service is usually quick and you can get their attention pretty quick. Oh hotpot, how I can never get enough of you. The mister and I are determined to try as many hotpot places as we can or at least that's what it feels like. We typically prefer the AYCE option if it's available. We found this place while perusing the fabulous Yelp community. It definitely doesn't have as much love as other places AND the name is deceiving. When you see Thai, you think umm, well, Thai food.....they really should've just kept their name listed as what's on the menu - Tai Xi, but I digress. We got there when they first opened so were able to find street parking easily just one street down. Hardly anyone was there yet. The place is a bit smaller in person than the online pictures show, but the place is modern and hip and prob insta-worthy as the kids these days say it, with some of their cute wall decor. Although there is an attractive AYCE $30.95 price tag, just note that the sauce bar and broths are additional. Their site doesn't show what the options for the AYCE menu is so voila - see my picture. Hopefully, that helps! For what they offer, I feel it's plentiful and they do offer a handful of apps as well, which is a nice touch. What I appreciated is the fact that they didn't give you a heaping pile of apps if ordered, they were portioned perfectly for our party of 2. Just enough to have a taste without pumping your belly with unnecessary fillers. We had a split pot of pork bone broth and beef tallow (med spice level). The pork bone broth was a bit under seasoned but nothing the sauce bar couldn't help. Our faves were the pork belly and the Mala beef. We both really enjoyed our meal and would def come back! And although some reviews complained about the service, we had zero complaints - the staff was impeccable even when the place started to fill up and got busy. There was only one snafu with them giving us something 2 things we didn't order - but we made sure to tell them we didn't order it so we weren't charged for not eating it. Definitely come here hungry! They have AYCE option that is worth it if you are hungry. The AYCE menu does not include everything that's on their a la carte menu, but the selection is good enough and you can always add on anything else from the a la carte menu for that price if you want. It is extra charge for the broths, some broths are $8 just for one side. My favorite would be the maw chicken broth. Sometimes we would get the entire pot with maw chicken broth. It is this creamy, coconutty, chicken broth that is very flavorful. We try not to get full off appetizers from the AYCE menu, but I do like the fried bun with condensed milk. The meat is definitely fresher than some other AYCE hot pot restaurants, I've yet to see anything slightly frozen-looking. Vegetables are consistent with most hot pot restaurants. I wish they had ramen, even instant ramen noodles would work. The restaurant itself looks nice and bright, good for pictures. Service can be slow sometimes, because some of the staff members just stand in the corner talking to each other or on their phones so it is hard to get their attention. My sister has been wanting to take me to try this place and while we were in town decided to go. They do all you can eat hotpot which I really liked. There soups were very flavorful and all the seafood, meat, vegetables were fresh. We also ordered a bunch of smoothies which was one of the main things my sister was raving about. Their restaurant closes at 11:00pm and the kitchen closes at 10:30pm. This is a Hot Pot.. the kitchen does not need to cook any food.. just bring out raw food for us. So, why are you refusing customers over 30+ minutes before closing? If you don't care about business then put a sign out! The soup base is separate price but in total for 2 people it did not end up being more than going to individual ordering hotpot places. The soup broths are not bad! I would say 3/5. They do refill it with water. I got the beef tallow spicy medium which was really spicy. And I love spice. I would say start with the mild then see how you feel. The quality of the food was good as well. I've definitely had better but for the price I really couldn't complain. I recommend the shrimp paste! And just like I said before that we would return - we did, on a chilly day. Not too many patrons at the time we arrived so we were seated right away and were asked whether we wanted the buffet menu, to which we affirmed. Because of our affirmation, we received a smaller set of menus which made it easier to go through our dining selections. Right off the bat, we ordered the salted egg yolk fish maw broth for hot pot for the entire pot cuz it was just the right thing to do. Once simmered, it was warming, smoothing and satisfactory as it danced through our body. You'll notice miniscule bits of egg yolk in the broth that gives it a pleasant texture. From the veggies, root veggies (daikon, taro), fatty beef, beef tongue, tofu and shrimp paste, everything was consistently good. Definitely recommend ordering the clams cuz they are big, plump and juicy. Wish I had pictures to prove all this but we were hungry and in need of warmth. They also had a condiment cart nearby that can be pushed tableside and I would say they had at least 20 condiments based on memory. No doubt we will return many more times! read more

Tried Thai C for the first time yesterday. The place is clean and has modern decor and seating. They have AYCE menu ($31/pp) and a-la-cart menu. We did a-la-cart. We chose their signature Tom Yum broth, it was slightly creamy from the coconut but good. We ordered a variety of food and popcorn chicken for appetizer. I especially like their Kumquat Lemonade, very refreshing. Food portion was great, not too much nor little. Service was quick and we had no issues ordering. They have a small Sauce Bar so you can customize your sauce. I only come to this place for hotpot so I am only rating on that. I came here a few times. I was not impressed (but my partner likes it) until the last time which was yesterday. If I didn't come here the last time, I would give this place a 2-3 stars. But after yesterday's experience, I think a 4-star should justify their improvements. First the broth is way better than before. We ordered Tum Yum broth and the Beef Oil Spicy (medium) broth. One thing that I was not impressed by this place in the past was because the broths are so bland and thin like water. But yesterday, we were surprised to see some great leaps in broth quality. They are thicker, creamy and flavorful. Good job! Second, the ribeye quality is amazing. I have been to quite a few hotpot places and always avoided the ribeye meat because they are always too lean to go with the hotpot. But Taixi's ribeye is marble-like and really delicious. However, their lamb is a bit mediocre and doesn't taste like lamb due to the lack of the unique gamy lamb flavor. Lastly, the service is where I think Taixi can improve. During our 90-min dining, no one comes to our table to ask if we need anything. We had to get the staff's attention to refill our water or order more food. Overall, I am happy with Tai Xi now. I would say that Wei Shu Wu nearby is still a little better in terms of food quality, when I want a very authentic Chinese Sichuan style hotpot. But Wei Shu Wu is too overpriced to the point that it's really not worth it anymore. In the meantime, Tai Xi is all you can eat. Given its recent improvement in the quality of the food, I think Tai Xi is a great replacement of Wei Shu Wu from now on. read more

We ordered boba for the table and they are one of the few places I can find that does really good rose milk tea. They had a few broth options from mild to hot and sweet to savory. Both times were kind of disappointing. First time, the chicken wings were still raw on the inside, had to return it to get it redone, not sure if it was the same ones but just reheated but they were cooked afterwards. Second time, for the AYCE hotpot, it was an interesting experience. The service was all right, there wasn't much to be flabbergasted about. The food felt a little on the lower quality. The quantity was wack too! If you write 5 orders of enoki mushrooms, you would get maybe a quarter of one. And if you write 5 of the fish balls, you get a crap ton of them. When we asked the server regarding the combos she was unsure and kept saying "I think it come with this," when the food came out it wasn't what she had mentioned to us. We pretty much paid for food we didn't like nor did we even bother to eat. The server was very inattentive and seemed to be bothered that we were asking questions about the hotpot menu. She was unknowledgeable. The fact that hotpot doesn't come with sauce is ridiculous- you have to pay for sauce per person. All the portions were small.
