Few months ago, we went here for dinner. We ordered the sliced beef in Sichuan chili sauce and Dagu crispy chicken breast as apps and I got the rice noodle with coconut red curry and chicken. The sliced beef was average and the crispy chicken breast was not very crispy. The rice noodles were a huge portion but it was way too spicy for my taste.

Great place for rice noodle soup and desserts! The last time I came here, I got the Crossing the bridge noodle soup: The soup comes deconstructed, you dump in all the toppings yourself. It came with a quail egg, ham, fish tofu, corn, wood ear mushroom, pickle and beef. I really liked the broth it was very rich and so comforting. Their cucumber with garlic sauce: is so refreshing. I'm always a fan of cucumber salads! I got their ice tofu pudding taro ball to end off my meal and the tofu was so tasty. It wasn't the regular dimsum tofu but it had a hint of mango? very different but delicious. I wish the taro ball had a bit more flavor (was a tad bit bland). Next time I'll try their drinks!

This place, in my opinion, is the definition of fusion between hot pot joint and noodle joint (especially if you order those "crossing the bridge" sets. I came during lunch hour and was seated immediately. Host and servers are nice and friendly. Be sure to check their menu before coming because they have a lot of options. I ordered bean noodles in chilly sauce and spicy duck tongue as appetizers and rice noodle with braised bone in beef for the main course. The soup has rich flavor, noodle was a bit dry but thats what the soup bowl is for. Appetizers are definitely very decent. The restaurant is a bit loud but nevertheless the ambience is nice.

Omg probably my new favorite restaurant in the area! I've driven by this place so many times! And finally had the opportunity to visit! Street parking is either one-hour or two-hour, so read the signage! The food was amazing! I love a good bowl of rice noodle, and glad they offer the option where you pour all the condiments yourself. Definitely wish the side condiments can be better in serving size. (Like, two or three quail eggs would've been nicer than one! Also, more corn please!) They also offer a solid selection of authentic appetizers like beef tripe or popcorn chicken. It came out fast and was high quality. Bubble tea selection is also great! Indoor seating is bright and spacious. They do get very busy after 12:30 pm or so, and service gets busy from there/server may forget your request. By 1 PM, there was a line at the door. So make sure you arrive right after opening to get the best service! Will definitely be back! Indoor air ventilation was good, under 1000 ppm even when the restaurant was completely full.

Dagu offers a decent rice noodle soup at a reasonable price. I tried the A4 Rice Noodle Soup with Bone-in Beef / 牛大骨米線 ($14.99). First and foremost, it arrived in a large ceramic bowl with its own heat source, keeping the soup piping hot. That already puts it above other places - my biggest pet peeve is having noodle soup dishes arrive after having cooled. Flavorwise, Dagu matches other rice noodle places. Portion size seems sufficient, broth not over- or under-flavored, and toppings seem a bit on the sparser side.

This place is super interesting and one of a kind! They have unique dishes where it is literally served to you in a steaming pot! Its as fresh as it gets! I like the concept of having the noodles on the side and dipping it in the broth, it makes it more interactive and fun to eat! The rice noodles alone were something else, they were EXTRAVEGANT. They were so bouncy and white and chewy and delightful to eat! So fresh!!! I got the curry chicken broth and I was so flavorful with lots of chicken pieces! I felt healthy eating this and I felt so clean and I feel like they definitely use natural ingredients and I just feel so good after eating this! It just warms your soul like a nice chicken noodle soup but 10x better. The chicken cutlet was also nice and crispy and juicy! Defintely have to get no matter what you are getting as a main. I also got the spicy cucmber salad on the side which was hands down no doubt 10/10. You can not go wrong with spicy cucmber salad and it was just well seasoned for sure! You can tell it was marinated enough because the flavors were INSIDE the cucumber and you can see the texture change in the cucumber. So yummy!!! Service was great as well! I love the uniforms that they have its so cute. They were super nice and friendly and working with hot sizzling food is defintiely a hard task! Overall, I really enjoyed this place. You think you had good rice noodles before, you didn't. Until you come here.

The food was good! We got two of the noodle soups, bean noodles, and quail eggs. I do wish they gave us a few more quail eggs. We sat near the kitchen, and it was very busy, noisy and detracted from us enjoying our meal. The staff was friendly though even through you can see them always speed walking around

This rice noodle restaurant is conveniently located near other Asian eateries and close to 99 Ranch. I usually order the spicy "Crossing the Bridge" noodle soup, and I really enjoy the setup. You add the ingredients yourself as you go, which is a nice touch and keeps the dish fresh. The broth comes in a warmed pot that stays hot throughout the meal, which I appreciate. The soup is delicious, though the spice level can be intense and may numb your tongue if you're not accustomed to it. I've also tried a few appetizers, like the Bang Bang Chicken. While I'm not a fan of steamed chicken personally, others in my party enjoyed it. The mango pomelo drink was a highlight--sweet but not too overpowering. Service is efficient; I received my food within 10 minutes of being seated, and the staff were quick to clear excess dishes. Overall, it's a great spot for a casual dinner or family outing in Quincy.

Dagu is always packed with people and I can see why! LOCATION: On the corner of the street, Dagu is located in a busy part of Quincy. Plenty of street parking nearby! SPACE: There are fairly a good number of numbers in the space so it can accommodate small to large groups. I recommend coming at an off time - we came around 4:30 and was seated immediately. FOOD: There are plenty of options from their famous rice noodle soups to a few rice bowl options. There's something for everyone. We opted for the 10 second noodle and I ordered the tomato broth which was very delicious. The set came with a large bowl of rice noodle, beef slices, a quail egg, bamboo shoots, ham, corn, woodear, and fish tofu. I'll definitely have to come back to try more! DRINK: There's an extensive menu that I didn't get to try and will have to come back for it. SERVICE: Since it wasn't busy, the staff was very attentive and food came out very quickly.

Stopped by here for a quick lunch with a friend last week and i have not been able to stop thinking about their noodle soup! I ordered their "ORIGINAL CROSSING THE BRIDGE RICE NOODLE" SOUP ($11) which came with ground pork, quail egg, veggies, pickled cabbage, ham, imitation crab, and fried fish tofu. I also decided to order some beef ($3) as an add on for good measure lol. The soup came out piping hot and the broth was clean, flavorful, and very homey and comforting. Felt very happy and satisfied after the meal!

I was staying in Quincy for the Boston Marathon. It looked quite busy when I had walked by the day before, so I decided to check it out for dinner. After I was seated and had the chance to look over their menu, I ordered the A1 Signature Rice Noodle Soup with Braised Bone-in Pork. I must say that that was some tasty broth! This place was definitely the best out of the 3 restaurants that I had tried during my trip to the Boston area. Service was also good and attentive.

I've been to Dagu twice and the first time I was there, I went around three in the afternoon and there wasn't a wait, but I went to Dagu on the weekend for lunch and it was really busy! For my party of five, there was a roughly 30 minute wait which wasn't too bad. When you first enter, the staff gives you a little device to let you know when your table is ready. When your table is ready, you'll get seated right away. This place is somewhat no frills. They'll start rearranging the tables to accommodate a larger group or they'll move tables for smaller parties. For how busy the restaurant was, the service was pretty good. It was definitely bustling with movement and noise, but in a good way. The food was really good. I got the bang bang chicken with rice, the noodle with the bone, and the crispy chicken. Of all the dishes, my favorite was the bang bang chicken and the noodle soup. The soup tasted refreshing and there was also a good amount of noodles in the bowl. The bang bang chicken was also really tender and the flavors were strong. I didn't love the crispy chicken though. I thought it had a little too much breading and it was a touch too salty for me. Overall, I liked Dagu and I would go back!

Ground Pork W.preserved Vegetables Clay Pot Rice梅菜肉餅煲仔飯: The English translation is already a bit misleading. This dish should be pork patty with preserved mustard greens, but what was served didn't match either component. First, this was not meicai梅菜(preserved mustard greens). Proper meicai should be dark brown and fibrous even after soaking, whereas this consisted of pale yellow granules, both in appearance and taste much closer to dongcai冬菜 (preserved Chinese cabbages). While dongcai can appear in some clay pot rice dishes, this was clearly not what it should be. Second, this was not a pork patty. The meat was simply loose minced pork scattered on top of the rice, without any mixing or shaping. As a result, it lacked the cohesion, tenderness, and springy texture that define a proper pork patty. There was even a slight sour note, which felt off. Third, the "claypot sauce" was surprisingly slightly viscous, like Singaporean dark soy sauce, and had a strong ginger flavor. I also tried the rice roll sauce; it had a normal soy sauce texture, but the ginger flavor was still very strong, meaning it was still not authentic. Given the stated Taishan background, the lack of traditional structure and technique in this clay pot rice was quite surprising. Compared to Clay Pot Cafe in Boston Chinatown, which offers a way more authentic execution, the difference becomes even more apparent. That said, to be fair, the rice itself was decent: grains were distinct, and there was a noticeable wok aroma. Milk Tea: The old menu called it "Hong Kong style milk tea," while the new menu simply said "milk tea," which seems more accurate. It was bitter at first, then intensely sweet, not fragrant at all--very weird. As someone who grew up in Guangdong, it's honestly frustrating to see it reduced to something so off. If you're looking for an authentic Cantonese clay pot rice experience, this would likely be a disappointing stop.
