Haven't been here in years. Service was fine. The was just okay. We got the Wonton Beef Stew Noodles, Curry baked pork spaghetti and pork & chicken cream sauce spaghetti. They definitely gave me the wrong order. I ended up with Pork, cream sauce , hot dog , egg and spaghetti. The cream sauce tasted to artificial. I couldn't finish my meal. Life is short. F.....it up! Family, Flavor, Friends To be totally honest i never knew this place was a Cantonese diner. But it's a mom and pops place with simple menu and Grandma cooking in the back so you know it gonna be good. Started w scallion pancakes.. they were ok . Then went with the wonton noodle soup with beef brisket. So this is a very traditional as you would have in Hong Kong. The noodle cooked perfect you can tell from the snap when you bite it. I came at 1pm on a saturday and it was pretty busy. Luckily a table opened up a few minutes after we came in. The restaurant is pretty small but it's very clean and the staff is nice. Came here a little after 1pm on a Saturday but the place was still full of people; was seated after a short couple minute wait. Ordered the wonton & dumpling appetizer as well as the stew beef lo men with wonton combo. Starting off with the wontons and dumplings, while the meat inside was generous, it just wasn't to my taste. I prefer my wonton/dumpling soup savory but it was just too sweet. While it didn't taste bad, it just didn't hit the spot. The dumplings were interesting, not your typical filling. I bit one in half and it had shrimp, pork, huge slice of bamboo shoot and a slice of mushroom, definitely not what I was expecting. Again, not to my taste but bang for buck, the portion size and meat inside the filling was very generous. As for the lo men, it was a bit too saucy for my taste. While it wasn't overly salty, just felt a little overwhelmed by the amount of sauce for the noodles. However, texture of the noodles were perfect, would be open to trying a different one of their lo men since noodle texture is something I value a lot. read more

Saigon Corner is more Chinese than Vietnamese, and it isn't on a corner. But service was friendly, and they let me use their not for the public bathroom when I really needed to go (but I can see why it isn't convenient to share with the public as a rule). Family and friends love their beef stew, wonton, and dumplings. I could see why as there were whole shrimp in the meat filling I spied on the table being folded into the wontons being freshly wrapped. But for my first visit, I was hankering Hong Kong Cafe style food and ordered the baked tomato sauce pork chop rice dish for $15 cash, to go. It came with a spoon and chopsticks, and I ate a good 2/3 of it. The rice was stir fried with egg. I prefer more cheese on my tomato sauce, but it was still tasty and tummy warming. I made it back here with family on another visit, and we were happily stuffed with one order of beef stew & wonton noodle soup apiece, and a shared order of their fried dumplings. Yum! read more

Interior is small but clean and looks recently remodeled. They mainly speak Cantonese so communication was a bit tough but the menu has English on it with pictures. Server came quickly but we weren't ready cuz of all the options on the menu but she came back twice and we put in our order then. Food came hot and fresh, the wontons were filled with pork and shrimp and the dumplings had mushroom and bamboo shoots in addition to pork/shrimp. Great place for some nice wonton noodle soup. The restaurant is pretty small and can sometimes be busy, but luckily we didn't have to wait long to get seated. Delicious wonton soup! This place is the best as the egg noodle is not mushy, they cook it perfectly so that it still holds a bit of a chew/crunch. Wontons have big chunks of shrimp. I liked this hole in the wall place. It's small, and fills up quickly in a Sunday morning. We walked in about 10:30am, only ones. And as we left at 11ish- almost all the tables were full. Friendly service. We got the Yuen yung, coffee/tea hot drink was perfect blend and just enough sweetness. Started with the wonton/dumpling mix and we preferred the wontons so we ordered an extra bowl of them. The spicy HK noodles, very chewy and bouncy noodles! So perfectly cooked and the right about of texture, no mush at all. We found the pork in it kind meh, it was interesting though. Also got the baked pork chop spaghetti. Not too sweet, the sauce gave me tomato soup vibes (not in a bad way). The pork chop was cooked well, the noodles were cooked to the doneness I would say of Asian style - a bit beyond Al dente which I think suits this dish. Again not our favorite. We would return. I heard this family is related to Maxis in Flushing (iykyk) so we came out to see how how similar or different. The wontons are filled with lots of shrimp, there is visible seasoning but it'a not like the Flushing place. Different but still tasty. read more

Today I am so disappointed about the foods in this restaurant. I ordered a curry beef stew noodle soup so when the soup came out I noticed there wasn't any curry taste at all in the broth. I called the waitress over then the waitress told me " I can bring you a little cup of curry ". So I dumped the curry into the broth then the broth became warm. Fried Wontons: Came out extra crispy and had whole pieces of pork and shrimp, instead of ground meat. They also have Fried Dumplings on the appetizer menu - this might be the ground meat version. Beef Tendon and Wonton Noodle Soup: Noodles were al dente. Broth was hearty. Good amount of beef tendon with the chewy texture that I like. Wontons were super juicy and plump - this is the ground meat version. Tomato Sauce Pork Chop Fried Rice: Sauce was sweet and savory over a bed of fragrant egg fried rice. We went there with our friends two days ago. We received unfriendly service and attitude from the female lone (the one with the glasses on) server. She had a bitter face on with no smile. She is so terrible that she doesn't deserve a tip. She didn't serve any water to us, even when we asked her to. We ordered the wonton noodles and the milk tea. We discovered that the greens in our food were unwashed and had sand in it. The milk tea tasted funny and terrible. After eating the food, we all had food poisoning. This place is very small and there was no restroom available. If you have a restroom emergency, you better go to find somewhere. We will not be coming back to eat here, and we recommend others to stay away from this place. read more

I was super curious about eating spaghetti at an Asian restaurant but I do think getting rice would've been better I added pepper because the white sauce itself didn't have a ton of flavoring. The pork was so good! And my sister got wontons which were so good we bought the frozen ones they were selling. The shop is small with not a lot of seats. They also got our order wrong a couple times due to miscommunication between the person who took our order and the person who charged us but thankfully it was all figured out before the kitchen started cooking. read more

The fried won ton tasted like they were made with the same dough as is used for the crunchy noodles that come with meals in a wax bag in NYC. I was concerned about if the new owners can keep up the quality after switched hand several months ago. The good news is after I revisited this time, I feel their food taste and quality is at least 90% compare to previous owner. I ordered pretty much the same like I used to: HK style milk tea, beef tendon and dumpling soup noodle. They raised price about 12% compared to a year and half ago. By talking to one of the staff there I realized the previous owner couple still have some shares of the restaurant and is still coming every Tuesday. They have some renovations since I visited three months ago. Currently, they open Sunday too (Friday - Wednesday 10am - 7pm). If they are able hire more help, they will consider to open Thursday also. read more

I have been going here ever since i was a little kid. I knew the owner growing up and they are nice people. This place is great for when you are craving authentic hong kong style food. The place is called saigon corner and even though they do not serve vietnamese dishes, the owners are chinese people most likely grew up in Saigon, which is where many Chinese resided. The wonton dumpling soup is a go to, along with the curry beef with rice. Food here has always been pretty exceptional, my mother has said that the yellow noodles do have a very soapy taste especially lately. read more
