    Bibimbop sizzling rice bowl
    Claudine R.

It's one of those places that's open late so we decided to eat here. Came here around 8:30 pm and was not disappointed. Owner was the server and the chef. Everything we ordered were excellent. Spicy beef soup, bulgogi, sizzling rice bowl and the spicy stir fry squid. Side dishes were good and you can ask for more. It's a small restaurant, can't say much about the ambiance and atmosphere but you come here to eat delicious Korean food.

A little overpriced given the options. Drinks are indefinitely overpriced but it seems like a small business. Opens pretty late 10:30-11 dependent on the day. Very nice lady and customer service, super welcoming. Not usually too crowded. Very small shop but still walkable.

Sue does everything herself, and the food is always amazing. Her Seafood Udon and Korean Seafood pancakes are the best I've ever had.

Cute little spot where you can grab a beer and some bibimbap. Looking for a spot to eat, we're driving and someone says McDonalds. Um, my magic 8 ball says hell no! Using Yelp, we came across Korean Grill. Walking inside, the place is looking, old. From the small bar to the kitchen, this place is tiny. Even though Korean Grill is small, their meals pack a nice punch. I asked if they had any iced tea. Our waitress was so nice, she made me an iced green tea! Now all I'm focused on is a nice big bowl of Bibimbap. The two ladies in the restaurant enter the kitchen and start cooking like mad scientists. Then, our food comes to the table. The ladies are so proud of their meals, I'm sure they used these recipes were passed from generation to generation. My Bibimbap was flavorful, total home run. Now I know I'm not in Kansas anymore. The fried egg on top is throwing me. In NYC, they bring out a raw egg. A fried egg, maybe they have a Massachusetts tax on eggs. Regardless of the egg, the Bibmbap was killer and we enjoyed our lunch at the Korean Grill

I came in for lunch May 4th and I was so impressed! This was my 1st time having Korean food and it was so delicious! I ordered the Bul Go Ki Gop Dol Bi Bam Bap! To start look at this great presentation! The flavors were just as great to match! The dish had Bulgoki (thinly sliced beef) and vegetables over rice in a hot stone pot. The service was also great and the food was served quick! I will definitely come back and try more!

Won't be going back . They overcharged on the takeout. One order of bibimbap (#69) was charged at $20.95. The menu photo on yelp clearly shows it at $11.95, nowhere on the menu is there an item for $20.95. Even with sales tax calculated it should not amount to that. I understand the pandemic situation impacting small businesses may result in an increase in menu prices, but $20.95 is not reasonable for an order of bibimbap for one person . They need to be transparent about the price - if you decide to go for takeout , make sure to calculate and double confirm amount charged on the phone before going or else you might be overcharged . Lastly , would question the sanitary conditions of the place as an insect was found in the other item ordered. 0/5 Won't be going back.

I had a pretty good experience here! The food was delicious but somewhat pricey. Highly recommend the Korean pancake with seafood. Everything was very good. I went at around 2pm on a weekday and there were no one else there. The restaurant is pretty small and there was only one person working there, but that was not a problem since there were no other customers at the time. They accept credit cards but not Amex!

We ordered grub hub. We had to call grubhub 30min after we ordered for the restaurant to accept our order. The rice cakes we ordered were mush. I felt like I was eating mashed potatoes. The bimbop was ordered with tofu and they put beef on it. What a waste of money. Completely overcharged for food that is (-1) stars. If I could give a negative I would. I mean how do you mess up rice cakes. You know how? They probably were sitting and reheated. That is the only way to mess up the texture that bad. Completely gross.

Had I known that the seafood noodle soup was made with ramen, I probably wouldn't have to order it, but it's no big deal. However, the service blew off my mind! First, when I took my takeout order, I told the owner/waitress that I thought the noodle and soup would be in separate containers because the noodle would get soggy in the soup. She first said she "just made it" so it won't get soggy, then started complaining about me being late, so that's my problem. I picked up the noodle from my order within 20 minutes, and didn't she say she "just made it"? How do I know that they have no business in 20 minutes for pick up is considered a loooong time? Second, when I pay with my credit card, she complained that I used a credit card and the minimum charge was $20, but she let me pay this time. Then I asked for the receipt, and she again rudely told me why I didn't tell her in advance that there would be a different procedure. I don't work there! How did I know a standard receipt needs to be requested in advance and per request? Why was I scolded up multiple times for a single pick up for no reasons? I definitely will not go back! (By the way, the noodles, tasted OK if not overly soaked; it tasted the same as the Korean instant noodle,"Shin". )

This was my 1st time eating there. I drive by so very often and wanted to give it a try. Boy did I make a mistake. when I entered the restaurant it seem full although it's a smallest spot. It took about 30 minutes for my appetizer to come in. I ordered the chicken it was salty. I didn't even finish it. The main dish that I ordered consisted of pork rice and small garnishing itmens. Beautiful presentation ..once again extremely salty. I talk to what appears to be the owner very nice lady who seem a bit frazzle, she was also the person cooking the food. I told her that everything was salty not sure if it's how they marinate the protein but everything was extra extra salty not to mention they added teriyaki sauce over the protein. The fried egg over the rice salty... it was too much. I told her she needs to be careful because people are concern conscious about sodium intake. She looked at me and said no one ever has any issue with how we season off food here. And next time I should ask for little to no salt.

They have wine, liquor and beer.

I was a frequent customer of the Royal Hotpot Restaurant back in the days when it was an AYCE…read morehotpot and sushi restaurant, and it was one of the best restaurants of this type in the Quincy area, and maybe even all of the Great Boston area. Then Covid came, and this restaurant rebranded itself as an a-la-cart Korean BBQ and sushi restaurant. I tried it once after the rebranding. It was relatively expensive, and neither the hotpot nor the sushi stood out. With food that was middling at best and a higher than average price, I didn't feel it was worth returning to. So I haven't visited this place since 2022. Fast forward to last night, my family stayed up to watch football, and we got hungry and wanted to buy some takeout. Many places that we were interested in were closed by 10 PM, and Royal Hotpot was still open. So we bought several items from them for takeout. We live 20 minutes away and did our own pickup. When we got home with the food, we found the following: I had a beef Bibimbop. 20 minutes after pickup from the restaurant, it was already cold. Not ice cold, but room temperature at best. There was no sauce. You eat a Bibimbop by first pouring in the special Bibimbop sauce and getting its taste onto everything. But, as I said, no sauce. The Bibimbop itself? A relatively small bowl that had plenty of rice, a boatload of seaweed that smelled fishy, and not much beef even when I stirred the food around to find what beef I could. There was not much. So, I put a spoonful of rice into my mouth. All I could taste was the fishiness of the seaweed,. There was no beef taste or any other taste that I could discern. So for almost $30 bucks I got a dry bowl if rice and mostly seaweed that was devoid of any taste you could enjoy. It was basically dry seaweed rice, with very little meat, and no sauce. I have eaten Korean food in general and Bibimbop in particular from maybe 20 restaurants in the Greater Boston area. I would rate this one the worst, by a significant margin, that I have ever had. I ended up putting the entire bowl, after two bites, into the fridge. Why didn't I throw it away? I feed stray cats behind my house, and this will go to the cats tonight. The two mouthfuls that I tried to eat? I spit those out into the garbage because it tasted so vile in my mouth. As for the other order, it was mostly sushi. My family member who absolutely LOVES sushi of any kind did eat his order, but he muttered that it was definitely subpar. So there you have it. If you ever have a yen for Korean or Japanese cuisine and you don't find many places open, don't come to this place. Eat some canned food from home, or make some instant noodles. This place, for me, was an awful choice. After putting Royal Hotpot's food away, I made an instant noodle to fill my hunger. that instant noodle was 5 times better than my expensive takeout. Note: I only give 1 star reviews for food that is literally spoiled, or when restaurant staff give egregiously awful service, 2 stars is the rating I generally give for really bad, unenjoyable food.

We chose duo broths: the Wild Mixed Mushroom Broth and the Pork Buddy Mala Butter Broth at medium spice. VEGGIE PLATTER The veggie platter came packed with fresh ingredients like lettuce, lotus root, mushrooms, and squash. All the vegetables were crisp and high quality. MEAT ASSORTMENT We ordered wagyu and several cuts of beef, all sliced beautifully and extremely fresh. Everything cooked quickly and soaked up the broth in the best way. SPICY HAMACHI BOMB ROLL This roll with torched hamachi, eel sauce, and mango was delicious and added a nice sushi moment in between the hot pot. NOODLE ASSORTMENT We tried the handmade noodles and sweet potato noodles, both were an epic addition and perfect for finishing the meal as the broth got richer. FRIED VANILLA ICE CREAM Crispy on the outside and cold in the center, it was the perfect sweet ending. Perfect way to end a chilly evening during this soup season.
