Congree with thousand years egg

Very good dimsum for Massachusetts, where there are not a whole lot of Asian people. So far, they are one of the best dimsum places I've had in Boston, with a wide variety, reasonable prices, and great food quality. Customer Service is also excellent for a dim sum place. Most Chinese people are grumpy, but here at East Ocean, they are very friendly and accommodating. Two Thumbs Up !!!

Me and my son were here last Saturday for dimsum because we were in the area. Great service, great atmosphere. Ordered maybe only 3-4 things because it was just me and my 1.5 year old son. My son loves shu Mai and steamed shrimp noodle so he loved it here. Our preferred dim-sum place is Winsor which is down the street but we wanted to try a new scenery. Shu Mai was tasty, steamed shrimp noodle was ok. I prefer Winsor because you can add cilantro and scallion. And it's more fluffy. But overall, to experience an old dim-sum atmosphere, definitely come here. Seems like all the local elderly, come here to enjoy their Saturday mornings.

This is the real thing, minus the carts. It can be pretty busy here on a weekend, because besides folks waiting for tables, they do a lot of take-out. The menu is extensive, certainly a lot more items than you'd traditionally see waiting for carts to come around. The one disadvantage is that after you place your order, your receipt is at the table before the food, so they can cross things off as they are delivered - if you want more, you have to go through the ordering process all over again. Portions for vegetable items are very generous. Even when it's "as busy as it gets," you can still usually find street parking within a block or so.

Came here on a Sunday for lunch and I'm very impressed. It's relatively small compared to another dim sum restaurant down the street, but the food is worth it. It was very busy for lunch and I had a relatively large party so there was a small wait time. Even though it was busy, the tables seemed to have moved pretty fast and once we were seated, the food came out really fast after ordering. You can order by writing on the menu and there are also people walking around with freshly made plates. They had the classic dim sum dishes like the shrimp dumplings, tripe, and chicken feet, but I think the star of the restaurant is their pan fried pork and chive dumplings. They were massive and really well made. This restaurant is also pretty standard with the service in the sense that it's quick paced and the waiters and waitresses will bring you your food, but if you need anything extra you will need to flag someone down. I don't mind that though! Overall if you're looking for a no nonsense dim sum restaurant with really good food, this is the place.

My family's go-to for dim sum in the area. Consistent quality and good variety of standard dim sum items. Go early when it opens at 10am. It's pretty packed by 11:30am. All items are made to order. $1 per person tea surcharge but they didn't charge for the kids. Eating utensils, cups, plates are clean. Limited on-street parking.

Dim sum breakfast! Yes please! Finally ventured out to Quincy in search of some good dim sum and we found it! We were craving dim sum for breakfast so we arrived at the restaurant as soon as it opened. The restaurant is spacious with plenty of tables for big and small groups. We were quickly seated once we arrived but the restaurant was already bustling with action. We were given a picture menu along with a list menu and a sharpie pen. The ordering process was very simple. There are no ladies pushing carts of dishes instead you circle the dishes you want on the list menu and hand over your order to the waiters. We wanted sumai for sure, Chinese broccoli, pork bao, and we were curious to try the Taro dumplings and some specialty dumplings that had to our surprise whole peanuts inside. Everything came out nice and hot and at the same time. The sumai was our favorite! It was packed with flavor and hit the spot. The bao was also nice and fluffy and very tasty. The Taro dumplings were ok, not our favorite but we gave them a shot. The speciality peanut dumplings were also ok. We really enjoyed the Chinese broccoli, it was cooked perfectly. We wanted more but had to save some room for the sesame balls! They were delicious! They tasted fresh, were nice and warm and were not too heavy. We literally finished every dish! No leftovers for us! We really enjoyed our dim sum! Yay! and can't wait to come back!

My go to place for dimsum. No other place compares! I always get their: -shrimp rice rolls: you CANNOT skip this!! They make it so perfectly here. The wrapping is so silky soft with a bit of chew and plump shrimp inside. -shrimp and pork shu mai: they're so fat and juicy! The flavor is perfect. I love how they have shiitake mushroom inside of these. -har gow: they don't use any fillers here, pure delicious shrimp dumplings with the chewy skin! You know it's fresh by looking at the skin -fried shrimp and chive dumpling: again, if you've noticed a trend by now, they're very generous with their fillings! Look at how big they are! I don't have any complaints about any of their dimsum dishes. I happily drive 1 hour to this place!

Stopped by here with the family to enjoy some dim sum. It was very busy but we only waited about 15 minutes for a table to open up. Not your typical place where there are food carts roaming around, we ordered off the menu which luckily had pictures as well. Everything came out hot and fresh, and very tasty. Service was good and staff were friendly. We will definitely come back here.

Good dim sum at decent prices. Seems like a traditional spot where you know the service won't be great, but the food will.

The restaurant is relatively small and only have 17-20 seats. I ordered Chinese sausage and bacon clay pot rice and shrimp rice rolls with eggs. They have extra sauce ready for you on the table for both clay pot dish and rice rolls in case you need more sauce. The rice rolls are perfect. They aren't stingy with the shrimp and the claypot dish is also tasted like grandma's cooking. Service was awesome. Server was very welcoming and considerate. I will definitely return here in the future.

Ground Pork W.preserved Vegetables Clay Pot Rice梅菜肉餅煲仔飯: The English translation is already a bit misleading. This dish should be pork patty with preserved mustard greens, but what was served didn't match either component. First, this was not meicai梅菜(preserved mustard greens). Proper meicai should be dark brown and fibrous even after soaking, whereas this consisted of pale yellow granules, both in appearance and taste much closer to dongcai冬菜 (preserved Chinese cabbages). While dongcai can appear in some clay pot rice dishes, this was clearly not what it should be. Second, this was not a pork patty. The meat was simply loose minced pork scattered on top of the rice, without any mixing or shaping. As a result, it lacked the cohesion, tenderness, and springy texture that define a proper pork patty. There was even a slight sour note, which felt off. Third, the "claypot sauce" was surprisingly slightly viscous, like Singaporean dark soy sauce, and had a strong ginger flavor. I also tried the rice roll sauce; it had a normal soy sauce texture, but the ginger flavor was still very strong, meaning it was still not authentic. Given the stated Taishan background, the lack of traditional structure and technique in this clay pot rice was quite surprising. Compared to Clay Pot Cafe in Boston Chinatown, which offers a way more authentic execution, the difference becomes even more apparent. That said, to be fair, the rice itself was decent: grains were distinct, and there was a noticeable wok aroma. Milk Tea: The old menu called it "Hong Kong style milk tea," while the new menu simply said "milk tea," which seems more accurate. It was bitter at first, then intensely sweet, not fragrant at all--very weird. As someone who grew up in Guangdong, it's honestly frustrating to see it reduced to something so off. If you're looking for an authentic Cantonese clay pot rice experience, this would likely be a disappointing stop.

I also got the rib eye beef and enoki ramen noodles. Listen, there is roughly 5lbs of it. 3 adults can share it. But Quincy has endless options for authentic Asian food and that's what we want--quality over quantity, Asian food with fresh, quality ingredients. See the pictures. It is a mound of overcooked mush with extremely/borderline inedible fatty meat and equally mushy enoki mushrooms hidden here and there. When I know for a fact that I could cook a stir fry ramen that is ten times better than what I just paid $20 for, there is zero reason to return to your restaurant, and I won't.

Chow Foon (8/10): Extremely solid, with plenty of wok hei. I always judge chow foon off of the beef, and they did pretty well here. It was tender and flavorful. Noodles had perfect texture. It's VERY value though ($9.99 for a massive piece) Bolo Bao w/ Silky Scramble Egg (8.5/10): I haven't had this combo before, but it was very good. Their silky scramble egg dishes are a must-try. Cream-Filled French Toast topped with Ovaltine (9/10): Delicious. They somehow made cheese work with this. I applaud it. Baked Pork Chop w/ Portuguese Sauce (8.5/10): Portuguese sauce was delicious. Pork was tender and flavorful. Cheese on top was delicious. We waited about 90 minutes for Saturday lunch. I would highly recommend not coming with more than 4 people. The restaurant was packed and there were plenty of takeout orders throughout the meal when I dined in both time. Clearly, a local favorite. You can try the trio appetizer that lets you try the fish ball, fish dumpling, and rice rolls. It's the right amount to share with three people and each person gets a taste of the three appetizers. My favorite had to be the rice balls, followed by the fish dumplings, and last the rice noodles. Of the toasts I have tried so far, I preferred the sweet toast dessert filled with milk as opposed to the truffle egg toast. For entree, I have to say, the fried chicken with the omelet egg is a must try. Next would be the Hainese chicken. Then third with be the sorrowful rice, which is two fried eggs and bbq pork. Everything was so flavorful. You have to try the milk teas. If you prefer sweet, go for the ice bear milk tea, but if you like a bit bitter, go for the hot version and add sugar to your preference. Overall, food came at a fast pace, service attentive. There is plenty of seating end even seating in a private dining space for a larger group of 10 or so in the back of the restaurant.
