Right off the bat, prior to taking our orders, she asked if we would like to order on separate orders which is nice. Came in with a party of 4 and had two separate checks. I ordered the clock signature burger with Swiss cheese which came with a side of onion rings and my brother ordered the chopped sirloin steak with a side of French fries and chopped salad (see receipt for pricing). Waitress was very friendly and accommodating. Portions for everything is huge. (A+ for the price paid). Everyone at the table said their food was great. The sides that came along with the meals were surprisingly big as well. The only thing that I didn't enjoy was the onion rings that I've ordered. It was way too greasy once bitten. Felt like it was drenched/soaked in oil prior to coating with the breadcrumbs but nether less, it didn't ruin my experience here at all. Went here on the recommendation of one of my co-workers, who wanted something more substantive for breakfast than the continental offerings across the street at Tru by Hilton. It's your tried and true diner. Wide selection of reasonably-priced breakfast options, mediocre coffee by today's standards, and decent enough service. I had the Greek omelet, which was fine albeit unremarkable (a bit skimpy on the feta cheese too). Maybe I'm a snob, but the coffee was weak and had that "on the burner too long" sourness. It was solid. I've had better diner food but it was filling and decent enough. Hard to say much more than that. We visited on a Sunday early afternoon. It was pretty busy, but we were sat immediately. The menu was extensive as most diners. The staff was friendly and very attentive. I had the seafood chowder and it was delicious. I also had the greek broiled salmon.....my only complaints are the size and amount of feta and the olives weren't pitted. Our family has been frequenting this diner since they first opened. The staff are knowledgeable, friendly and attentive. My 93 year old Mom and I went there a couple of weeks ago and the lady seated us at the front booth since my Mom has a hard time walking. I feel that was an extra and much appreciated step to making our visit a comfortable and pleasant one. Then a handsome young man came to serve us. He was super attentive to two old ladies. He brought us hot decaffeinated tea because he heard me tell my Mom I thought the other tea was decaf, and it wasn't. He came over and said it had a little caffeine in it and brought us the decaf. So nice! Our meal was served really fast, as usual. We had come for a late breakfast and the food was delicious and the portions were large. (This diner has an extensive menu. We have tried many items on this list and all are delicious.) I appreciate the kind service we always get at Round the Clock Diner. Sometimes servers roll their eyes or are rude because my Mom can't hear. I can say that we never had this happen to us at this restaurant. Everyone is so kind and considerate, parking is great, we had a handicapped spot close to the door, and there is a handicapped ramp for those who cannot climb steps, like my Mom. I also like how the restaurant is not loud, sometimes when we go to different places to eat, the music is so loud, then my Mom and I cannot converse over the music. Convenient is the best thing going for RTC. Food is ok, fruit very fresh, but it's time to cater to all the people not just the ones that can eat gluten. Put gluten-free toast on the menu. Don't get me wrong; I like Round the Clock and am a frequent visitor. I would give it 3.5 stars if I could. But, remember this: it's a 24-hour diner right off the highway. You would expect it to be all truckers, but really it is frequented by mostly families. The food is reliably decent. During a visit on Mother's Day we were meet with a girl named Whitney who was rude to us because we didn't have a reservation. We were not aware that we needed a reservation. My mother in law is disabled and walks with a walker and did not feel welcome by Whitney's attitude. We Have taken her to breakfast there many times and loved the service from your servers. When you come here, get a side of the ranch dressing to put on everything you order. It's cold, creamy, garlicky and perfect. Other dressings are tasty too. I've been coming here late night for years. The other Round the Clock diner is not on the same level. On my most recent visit, I enjoyed the gyro and tasted my friend's Reuben and my other friend's haddock sandwich. Everything was delish! Tasty coleslaw and fries, fish was cooked perfectly, and I liked the ground meat on the Reuben - it eliminates the issue of running into gristle or accidentally pulling all the meat out of your sandwich when you take a bite. This place is kind of a local York tradition. It's been around for as long as I can remember and I've been eating here for just as long! Great place to get breakfast -- any time of the day. If you find yourself here at 2am on a weekend, be prepared to see an explosion of people coming from bars all over the area. Stopped in to eat here on a Monday morning. Ordered a standard breakfast classic -- two eggs, bacon, hash browns, toast. No complaints on my end! Coffee was hot and service was good. Within the last year or so, they had been undergoing some construction. Needless to say, their renovation plans were successful and the update was pretty necessary. There are still the same old classic tables and chairs, the layout hasn't changed, but the walls have been reinforced and redecorated, maybe an added paint job. If you're black, hispanic, or west Indian, stay away from this dinner. You're going to feel discriminated, out of place and you'll feel the racism coming from everyone while walking to your table! Our server Olivia, did not want to serve us, it took her a long time to come greet us, when she finally came she did not introduced herself to us, looked annoyed that she had to serve us. After our food came she never came back to see if we were OK or needed anything else. However, she kept servicing the table across from us (which were all white people). First time I stayed in York for the weekend to go apple picking and we stumbled upon this place. Although this is a diner, it's nothing like a typical diner! Very spacious and even hard-wood floor! The waiters and waitresses were so friendly and very attentive to us. Let's talk about the FOOD... you definitely want to come here hungry as their menu is crazily large!! We ordered so much food and definitely stuffed ourselves but TOTALLY worth it! The seafood chowder is a must-try and the seafood options were good as well (we tried fresh fried haddock... heavenly!). We also ordered a bunch of entrees: meatloaf, veal cutlets (excellent!!!), hot roasted beef sandwich (it was good but nothing like a sandwich so if you are in the mood for sandwiches, I would choose something else). I was shocked tonight when I went along with my nephew for a late night snack and saw the prices at this place. I live in downtown Los Angeles, which is 190% more expensive than York, and the prices there are cheaper! I just wanted to grab some onion rings or cheese sticks, not really eat a meal. It was $8.99 for either! Nine dollars for onion rings, are you out of your mind? Convenient location, average food, average service, and astronomical prices. I don't get it. I just don't. Nice clean diner on Rte 30 just before exit for 83 North! Large menu lots of specials just the type of things you would expect at a diner! Good Coffee!!! The menu is extensive but I decided on an old favorite Turkey over Stuffing! With a side of Lima's and Sweet Potatoes ! Turkey was sliced very thin but piled up and the stuffing was mildly seasoned! Lima's were cooked perfectly not canned the sweets had a nice hint of cinnamon! We were in York for a wedding and stopped by Round The Clock Diner to grab a quick lunch before heading back home to New Jersey. Round The Clock has a fun, modern yet retro vibe. The service was fast and friendly. I ordered the chicken salad wrap and we also ordered mozzarella sticks as a starter. The food was average all around ... not amazing but certainly not bad. I realize I'm spoiled by Jersey diners that somehow magically have above-average food, so I'm pretty sure the food at Round The Clock is what normal diner food is like at most places.
