Thankful for the young lady who took my order and care of my table. The entree that I ordered for dinner, wasn't the best in quality or taste. My waitress I overheard say to the kitchen, something to the kitchen about adding paprika to the dish. Luckily I caught it, and declined. That wasn't even listed on the menu as added to the dish. The diner happened to be close by to where I was staying so my group decided to go for an early dinner. I actually had a late breakfast. Most diners do breakfast all day and this one was no exception. The steak and eggs were delicious and so was dessert. They didn't have a banana split on the menu but our waitress said she would make one for us. Amazing service. Looked like a diner as well. Counter seating was available too. Awesome diner vibe here. Breakfast I ordered a Western omelette, with a side of sliced tomatoes, no toast, and order of sausage. I also asked for a glass of ice water with lemon. I received coffee, no lemon with my water. My omelette came it came with hashbrowns, I did not get my tomatoes. I had finished my meal before my waitress ever came back so I did not get a refill on my coffee, and the water cup was small, it was also empty. Never offered a refill. The potatoes come out cold in the center sometimes, like they're put on the griddle for a minute then just folded rather than flipped; could use a flip to crisp them all up and heat them all to the center. I went there for breakfast one morning and had a good experience, nice size pancakes and not terribly expensive. But I went there last night(May 22, 2026) for dinner and the experience was completely different. The service was slow, the portions of food were much smaller than expected and it was hard to believe I paid $50 for the little amount of food I got for me and my girls(fiancée and 2 daughters) I've been to other diners and paid the same for twice amount of food. They wanted $5 for a SMALL handful of fries!! My 8 year old daughter could pick up all the fries in one hand! They were served to me on a small plate made to hold a coffee cup. I also got a side of mashed potatoes for $3.99 and it was 3 normal spoonfuls of potatoes and it was gone. Unbelievable!! My fiancée ordered the breakfast platter with 2 pancakes and it was a decent amount of food. I had just rolled into town and was starving, so I made a late stop here around 9:42 PM. They were close to closing, so it was takeout only--but I'm grateful they still welcomed me in and whipped up a meal. The place looked cozy with a warm ambiance--I would've loved to dine in if I had arrived earlier. Now to the food: the Chicken Stroganoff was absolutely delicious, and the generous portion easily stretched into two meals. Stopped here on the way home from Uniontown. Waited about 30 minutes to get a table. It was Labor Day and they were closing early for the holiday. Wait staff was very pleasant. I got the French toast and thought it was delicious. My brother ordered a heart healthy omelette that looked really good. I just thought it was ridiculous how much we paid for Turkey sausage. They need to remove "diner" from the name. I grew up eating in diners and this place would last a year where I'm from. The place appeared clean and well kept. I had the Capital Special and somehow they managed to get the taste out of breakfast foods! The bacon was rubbery, home fries terribly bland, French toast tasted as if it had come frozen in of a box. The eggs, for the record, were good. My server, although very nice and apologetic for my long wait, didn't even question my 2/3 full plates that I sent back. Growing up on Long Island and frequenting diners was very much part of the culture. We had some of the best diners, so when I stop in a diner, particularly for breakfast, my expectations are high for both the food and service. The Capitol Diner lived up to my expectations. I had a breakfast wrap with egg whites, cheese, avocados and turkey sausage, home fries came on the side. My husband had avocado toast with poached eggs. Both our meals were delicious! The coffee was really good as well. Now for the service: Athena, our server was outstanding! She came over right away to let us know there was the "annual outdoor show" in town, and that she would be with us shortly. The place was clearly busy, but she came back shortly as promised with hot coffee and took our order. Everything went smoothly. We expected a long wait given the situation, but there wasn't. The kitchen was really efficient. The food came out really quickly. Athena came back several times to check on us and offer more coffee. She was nice enough to put my refill coffee in a takeout cup to go! I would definitely recommend this place. Good evening Came into your facility July 17 around 8 p.m. To place an order , the waitress that took my order was very attentive as I described to her but I wanted to hotdog grilled(meaning crispy) and to place a little bit of ketchup and relish on hotdog. I also ordered a side of coleslaw. After waiting 20 minutes, I went on ahead and decided when the food came out to open it up and inspect. Only to find out a hotdog or not even grilled the relish look like a two year-old hit, put it on and of course the ketchup was never put on. I then found out that there was about 10 pack of ketchup with about six packs of mustard and a small container full of relish. I only asked for two hotdog to be grilled on the grill top a little bit of relish and if you couldn't put the condiments on one or two packs of ketchup, would've been very sufficient, but why the extra relish and mustard? I was so disappointed and not being able to get just a simple order correctly cooked that I went out without even asking for a refund! Just had dinner here. My husband had salmon from the Senior menu and it was okay. I had the chicken fried steak, which was as tough as an old shoe. My sweet potato was burned and bitter. Waitress never did check in on us so I ate what I could. Worst dinner I've had in a long time. I did complain when she came over to give us the check, and again when I paid. I was actually surprised at how much it was booming on a Thursday. the weight to get a table was extensively long but I would say definitely worth the wait. As a black woman who drove up here for a family function from Philadelphia this was definitely a disappointment. $75 for three people to get a breakfast that was bland, cold and incorrect. My one daughter got strawberry pancakes. They charged an extra five dollars for the strawberry and whipped cream, but didn't say anything until the check came. My other daughter ordered a side of cheese eggs that didn't come until the check came. We all asked for turkey sausage however she gave my one daughter pork sausage. My omelette was every kind of messed up that you could imagine. I repeatedly asked for no tomatoes and somehow still got tomatoes in my omelette. The weird canned glaze strawberries that they added to the pancakes was covering the entire plate. It was mostly strawberry syrup with a little side of pancake. Not to mention as long as the eggs took to come out they were still a NOT seasoned and bland. And last the orange juice was more sour than the lemonade, but it cost me almost 5 dollars.
