Ordered for delivery, and my share of the order was a simple cheeseburger. The delivery was prompt, and the meals were hot, but the roll was stale. They cooked the flavor out of the burger. If they can't get a basic burger right, I'm not trusting them with anything more complex. My companions were underwhelmed by their own meals saying it was okay but not worth the price. read more

Great portions of food at a very fair price. Glad we stopped here. Fast service! Got right in quickly also, for being such a small place. Small mom and pop diner, husband the cook, wife the waitress. Very impressive read more

I ordered a gyro meal through DoorDash and was horrified by what arrived at my door. Absolutely unacceptable quality. It looks like they chopped up one strip of meat. The vegetables on the gyro were nasty and the home fries tasted awful. I threw the whole thing out, might as well have wiped my ass with the 20$ I spent on this delivery. Worst quality food I've had in this area, would have been better off ordering fast food. Shame on whoever thought this was alright to send out. Fire your cook. Edit - I only ate a couple bites of the "gyro" and some of the home fries and about 10 minutes later I started feeling sick. I highly recommend avoiding having these people serve you food. read more

West Shore Diner - Worst gyro I've ever had. Disgusting! Never again - Diners Near Me - Lemoyne, Pennsylvania

It's an awesome dive, that reminds me of a place to visit for years, getting your same dish over and over.

This place take first place as hole in the wall dinners From the outside it looks like a dump. From the inside it has not been updated for about 60 years. Very original . if you are a little picky forget this place.it very laid back. The food is inexpensive and overall will worth.service is good old fashion. I would come back here. Watch their hours. My rating on this is base on true dive diners. I have paid a lot more and got a lot less at nicer looking places. read more

Raisin French Toast pancakes customers and staff are great would recommend for a local diner

I don't go to church. I go to the West Shore Diner to find my Heaven. If your looking for a fat slice of Americana wholesomeness, this place is it! Some people aren't diner people. If you are, this is your valhalla. read more

West Shore Diner - Are you looking for an excellent meal, an unbeatable value and the best service found this side of the Mississippi!? - Diners Near Me - Lemoyne, Pennsylvania

First of all I don't normally write reviews but I had to because of how BAD this place was. Before you even get inside the place is falling apart and looks like something out of a horror movie. And be careful when you open the door because by the looks of the frame it is due to come down any day now. Inside you are greeted with an absolutely disgusting environment that most likely hasn't been updated since the place opened. Floor is dirty, tables are falling apart, and the dirt, grease, and discomfort of the seat make the experience unfavorable to say the least. If your sitting on the far ends of the diner just have faith that the rusty lose air conditioning units don't fall on your head. The shakers placed on the table were nauseating and looked and felt disgusting. The window sill had dirt and gunk that looked like it had been piling up since George Washington became president. How HARD is it to clean? You can get a duster for what? Five dollars maybe? The nat flying around the table also wasn't ideal. The service was okay but the food was pretty bad. The chips were stale and there were questionable specs floating around in the soup and drinks. I'm incredibly confused on how the building and/or health inspector hasn't shut this place down yet. For the sake of the employees who work here, I hope and pray that this place gets updated. A MUCH needed renovation. So if you're looking for a place to get brunch don't go to this diner. There are many places in the area that won't provide you with a sickening experience like this place will. read more

Went on a Sunday. There is only breakfast, but they will do grill food if you ask. (no fried foods) My burger was over cooked but ok. Our table also got perfect eggs, toast, a must pancakes and scrapple and bacon. The decor is a step back in time. A must visit if in Lemoyne! read more

It's open again. It looks like a dump on the outside and it's worse on the inside. The food ( breakfast) was good and huge portions priced right. Eggs were cooked to order. Bacon was crisp. It's definitely not for the snobby crowd, but the people there are nice. I'd love to see them fix the place up a bit....... It has charm. read more

Patron: You know my neighbor, the one with all the cats? Waitress: Yeah, what about him? Patron: He finally got indoor plumbing! --Conversation overheard at West Shore Diner on Monday. Those who don't believe in the possibility of time travel obviously have never been to West Shore Diner. I am thoroughly convinced that I didn't just have breakfast in Central Pennsylvania on Monday; I had breakfast in Central Pennsylvania in 1968. And I loved it! On the outside, the diner looks as an old trailer converted into a restaurant, probably because it is, in fact, an old trailer. The old trailer is the main dining room with a few counter seats and a few cramped booths. There was another dining room in the back, which looked slightly more spacious. Remember the diner from The Big Lebowski where the all-important toe discussion takes place? West Shore Diner's decor is a rundown version of that Hollywood icon. Waitress: "Excuse me, sir. Could you please keep your voices down? This is a family restaurant." Walter: "Oh, please, dear. For your information, the Supreme Court has roundly rejected prior restraint." Anyway, back to West Shore Diner. The decor and the ambiance aren't the only things here reminding you of 1968. The prices are from a different era, too. How much would you pay for a breakfast plate that includes 2 scrambled eggs, 2 strips of bacon, 2 slices of toast and a generous serving of home fries? How does $2.90 sound? That's right, two dollars and ninety cents! My friend had a Greek omelet for under $3.50. And the food tastes good, just like your mom used to make. I had 3 cups of coffee, too (free refills). When I got the bill, I felt like I was robbing them blind: $9.57, including tax. I left $12 on the table and received multiple "thank yous" before I left. WOW. Last time my friend and I were here, a year ago to the day, one of the regulars was passing out homemade chocolate creations. She got a chocolate mouse with a cherry stem for a tail. I got something Christmas-y and chocolate-y, too. Yep, it's that kind of place. In the greasy spoon eatery category, West Shore Diner is the clear blue ribbon winner. read more

Aw man. Sorry to see a lot of people don't appreciate a good, excellently priced greasy spoon when they experience it. This place is a staple. First, the service can't be beat. I don't go here all the time, but certain waitresses I swear recognize me despite only visiting a few times a year. The patrons always have some honest, real conversations going on that are great to overhear. This is usually sparked by several people enjoying their breakfast over the Sunday Patriot News. Ask your waitress about the history of the building, it's a local history lesson. The food is solid, hearty breakfast fare and under $5 in 2014! Eggs and bacon always cooked spot on. This place is an old school gem worth a stop. This has a lost element I'm sad to see lacking in a lot of places. Charm. read more

I'm convinced people in lemoyne have no taste buds. The amount of times i've gone to this place and someone has found a hair fingernail in there food is countless. At one point i told my friends to go with out me if they were going i'd rather pay the money to go to mcdonalds. This place is gross and i wish they would get shut down. Its look of being in an old style cafe is consistent with the inside features including there pantry stove. Save your 3 dollars for breakfast and get some eggs and bacon and i'll cook for you read more

Very disappointed. My husband and I, travel to different do diners. Out of all the ones we have been to, this is the dirtiest. Sticky tables, dirty old silverware, dirty cups and the worst coffee ever. Sometimes looks can be deceiving, this place matches. This is one of those places that if you love exploring old diners, you'll love it here. Yep, it looks pretty rough on the outside. Truth be told, it's not much on the inside either. I was literally waiting for Marty McFly to walk in and order a Tab, because this place is a serious time warp. The decor is completely cheesy...very old album covers, sports pennants, etc., but where the heck are you going to see anything like this? The bathrooms have these ancient automatic hand dryers for heavens sake. And I loved it. Service was great. My coffee mug was always full. The regulars having their conversations was completely entertaining. And the food was good as well as reasonably priced. Was the food exceptional? No. But it was more than adequate. I left there with a smile on my face because the experience was completely surreal...but thoroughly entertaining. read more

I'm struggling with this one. Other reviewers seem to love this place...I don't know. One reviewer mentioned that this place looks like it closed down awhile ago and that's no joke. Was the staff friendly? Sure. Was it incredibly cheap? Indeed. Did this place stand still in time? Absolutely! I guess the food was good-ish. It was diner food. The coffee was pretty good for a diner. The portions were substantial, especially for breakfast sausage lovers (I am not one). I read Susie M.'s review and as result opted for the creamed chip beef (a dish I only eat on recommendation). I thought it was thin and kind of flat in taste. Mostly I was turned off by the smell in the back room where we sat. It had that Karn's bloody meat mixed with ammonia smell. Verdict: It's probably a really suitable place to nurse a hangover and it's probably pretty awesome if you are a regular. read more

This is a must to try. Not only does this on the outside look eh....but seriously this is an awesome place to grab a breakfast. We took my daughter here since every other place was packed. We were so thrilled to have a super visit and breakfast. Service was fast and accurate. The home fried potatoes could have been more crispy and flavorful. Otherwise I was completely satisfied. Huge portions. Must try. Overlook the outdated look, the food is awesome. read more

Although the food was just average, this place has classic diner written all over it. The front of West Shore Diner look dilapidated with an AC hanging on for dear life. There's a larger seating area in the back and it feels like you're sitting on a hill because the floor is so significantly slanted. The food here was alright. We had biscuits and gravy, with eggs, bacon an d toast, as well as some pancakes. The biscuits and gravy were pretty good but definitely needed some added pepper and hot sauce. Pancakes were slightly above average. The coffee was standard diner coffee. In terms of bang for your buck the place is amazing. Everything I just mentioned cost a mere 11 bucks. Good luck finding that elsewhere. All in all it was a great diner experience and I would recommend the place if you want an out of the way diner where only locals eat. read more

Old fashion little diner! Friendly staff! A place where the waitress knows the names of the regulars! Felt like I was back in RI! Great Breakfast! read more

Order of cheesy scrambled eggs = scrambled eggs + slice of cheese on top. Not quite what was asked for. Loud owner/cook + quiet waitress = hard to order anything. Outside cleanliness matched inside cleanliness... everything seemed a bit dull and dingy. Cheap, yes. Cheap enough to return? Most likely not. Sorry folks, convenience + low cost + meh food + hard to hear does not equal fans of repeat business. read more

I arrived on a recent Wednesday afternoon and took a seat in a booth on the far right end. I was just given the specials printed on a piece of paper and thought that this diner really cut back on their selections. I finally ordered a Italian cheese steak and a piece of pie for $ 5.00, as printed on the specials. My cheese steak was tasty BUT was served on a hamburger-type bun. I was expecting a steak roll! Only after eating my piece of peach pie, did a party come in and ordered items not on the specials. I asked the waitress about the full service menu and she replied, " I didn't think you wanted to see it." I was taken back somewhat and really wanted to order something from more than a half dozen choices. This is a diner and not worth getting upset over and if I was offered the full menu, I probably would have ordered a platter or even something that would have cost more and perhaps left a bigger tip. I will still return as I have been doing for many years since this diner was featured on the PBS PA Diners Documentary. read more

Throw yourself back to the 50s..wait maybe that is the 40s. Very neat slice of Americana here. I have only had breakfast, but the other menu items look good as well (homemade chicken pot pie) but if you are looking for comfort food--a great choice. The food is not stellar, but it is consistently good and the portions are very generous. Now the price---somewhere between the 40s and now. You can get a full breakfast here for the price of an egg McMuffin at Mcdonalds! The crowd is always fun and talkative about anything--local business, politics, sports, and the owner and waitresses remind me of Alice, Flo and Mel from Alice. Whenever I am up here, I try to stop in and am never disappointed! Give it a shot read more

Well for starters the place looks like hell outside and inside the cook touches the food with his bare hands and my food was not good I watched him make it and it was cold all of it the waitress is distant and not so friendly and the him fries were burnt cold and very very dry my eggs were broken and the food had very little taste fuck this place read more

West Shore Diner - Cooking always man hahahaha he is a beast in that grill - Diners Near Me - Lemoyne, Pennsylvania

I've been to this diner several times since moving to the area, and I have always left satisfied and glad I went. The food is good, it comes out quickly, and is well priced. Opens early and is a great place to start the day. My favorite is the chocolate chip pancakes, but everything I've had for breakfast is good. read more

My beloved friend John took me to the West Shore Diner one morning to fuel up for a Karns meat counter buying spree. The place is easy to miss: no bigger than a minute, looks like it closed a few years back. Don't be fooled. Park and step right in. The place is neat and spotless inside, friendly and laid back. It's so small that you are friends with everyone else in the place by the time you leave, just by virtue of proximity. Delicious breakfasts. Best chipped beef around. Start your day off with a smile and a satisfied stomach. I plan to be a regular. read more

The service was friendly, the coffee tasted great. We visited for Sunday breakfast and we were very disappointed. The place seemed dirty all around, but I was hopeful about the food based upon other's positive reviews. Our food was just okay. I had the egg scramble and it seemed to have more potatoes and less eggs than other places I frequent for breakfast. I had to scrap off some dried food from my spoon, so I used my knife to stir my coffee. The ketchup bottle was gross. The sugar jar was really gross. It felt greasy and there was sugar caked to the spout. There was a slice of toast missing from my plate when it was served. Our breakfast seemed overpriced for what we received (and the fact that everything seems sticky and dirty). I really wanted to enjoy this place because it is cute and kitschy, however I wasn't impressed, and we were kinda grossed out, so we won't be going back. read more

Ever since I discovered this hole in the wall diner, I can't stop coming back. The raisin French toast and Philly cheesesteak omelette are my favorite main courses and the home fries are solid too. My fiancé and I love this place! It's good diner food...I personally prefer their breakfast. Now it's not the most amazing but it's yummy and the portions are substantial. This place is pretty nasty. The bathroom was filthy. If they had any pride in this place they would take care if it just a little, ya think?

After reading the other reviews I had to write my own review of this place. One person said the place was clean and neat. Dear Lord I'd hate to see this person's house! The West Shore Diner has to be the dirtiest neglected diner I've ever seen. It's filthy, really! For years the roof leaked and the booths were in shreds. No screens on the windows in the summer. They do have great breakfasts and cheap prices. The staff and owners are all friendly. The soups are tasteless and the crackers are stale. About 3 years ago they had great lunch and dinner specials. Ham steak was one that comes to mind. The specials now are nothing special and most include a crappy sandwich with greasy fries or tasteless soup. I'm honestly amazed it's still open. I see very few cars there anymore when I drive past. The owners blame the economy but my opinion is the place needs a complete overhaul and some better quality food. read more

Love this place. It's a diner, one of the oldest in PA. The food is good, they have great specials and it's cheap. I generally stick to a cheeseburger, fries and a milkshake.
