I ordered a gyro meal through DoorDash and was horrified by what arrived at my door. Absolutely unacceptable quality. It looks like they chopped up one strip of meat. The vegetables on the gyro were nasty and the home fries tasted awful. I threw the whole thing out, might as well have wiped my ass with the 20$ I spent on this delivery. Worst quality food I've had in this area, would have been better off ordering fast food. Shame on whoever thought this was alright to send out. Fire your cook. Edit - I only ate a couple bites of the "gyro" and some of the home fries and about 10 minutes later I started feeling sick. I highly recommend avoiding having these people serve you food. read more

Very original . if you are a little picky forget this place.it very laid back. The food is inexpensive and overall will worth.service is good old fashion. I would come back here. Watch their hours. Raisin French Toast pancakes customers and staff are great would recommend for a local diner

First of all I don't normally write reviews but I had to because of how BAD this place was. Before you even get inside the place is falling apart and looks like something out of a horror movie. And be careful when you open the door because by the looks of the frame it is due to come down any day now. Inside you are greeted with an absolutely disgusting environment that most likely hasn't been updated since the place opened. Floor is dirty, tables are falling apart, and the dirt, grease, and discomfort of the seat make the experience unfavorable to say the least. If your sitting on the far ends of the diner just have faith that the rusty lose air conditioning units don't fall on your head. The shakers placed on the table were nauseating and looked and felt disgusting. The window sill had dirt and gunk that looked like it had been piling up since George Washington became president. How HARD is it to clean? You can get a duster for what? Five dollars maybe? The nat flying around the table also wasn't ideal. The service was okay but the food was pretty bad. The chips were stale and there were questionable specs floating around in the soup and drinks. I'm incredibly confused on how the building and/or health inspector hasn't shut this place down yet. For the sake of the employees who work here, I hope and pray that this place gets updated. A MUCH needed renovation. So if you're looking for a place to get brunch don't go to this diner. There are many places in the area that won't provide you with a sickening experience like this place will. read more

I am thoroughly convinced that I didn't just have breakfast in Central Pennsylvania on Monday; I had breakfast in Central Pennsylvania in 1968. And I loved it! On the outside, the diner looks as an old trailer converted into a restaurant, probably because it is, in fact, an old trailer. The old trailer is the main dining room with a few counter seats and a few cramped booths. There was another dining room in the back, which looked slightly more spacious. Remember the diner from The Big Lebowski where the all-important toe discussion takes place? West Shore Diner's decor is a rundown version of that Hollywood icon. Waitress: "Excuse me, sir. Could you please keep your voices down? This is a family restaurant." Walter: "Oh, please, dear. For your information, the Supreme Court has roundly rejected prior restraint." Anyway, back to West Shore Diner. The decor and the ambiance aren't the only things here reminding you of 1968. The prices are from a different era, too. How much would you pay for a breakfast plate that includes 2 scrambled eggs, 2 strips of bacon, 2 slices of toast and a generous serving of home fries? How does $2.90 sound? That's right, two dollars and ninety cents! My friend had a Greek omelet for under $3.50. And the food tastes good, just like your mom used to make. I had 3 cups of coffee, too (free refills). When I got the bill, I felt like I was robbing them blind: $9.57, including tax. I left $12 on the table and received multiple "thank yous" before I left. WOW. Last time my friend and I were here, a year ago to the day, one of the regulars was passing out homemade chocolate creations. She got a chocolate mouse with a cherry stem for a tail. I don't go here all the time, but certain waitresses I swear recognize me despite only visiting a few times a year. The patrons always have some honest, real conversations going on that are great to overhear. This is usually sparked by several people enjoying their breakfast over the Sunday Patriot News. I'm convinced people in lemoyne have no taste buds. The amount of times i've gone to this place and someone has found a hair fingernail in there food is countless. At one point i told my friends to go with out me if they were going i'd rather pay the money to go to mcdonalds. This place is gross and i wish they would get shut down. This is one of those places that if you love exploring old diners, you'll love it here. Yep, it looks pretty rough on the outside. Truth be told, it's not much on the inside either. I was literally waiting for Marty McFly to walk in and order a Tab, because this place is a serious time warp. The decor is completely cheesy...very old album covers, sports pennants, etc., but where the heck are you going to see anything like this? The bathrooms have these ancient automatic hand dryers for heavens sake. And I loved it. Service was great. My coffee mug was always full. The regulars having their conversations was completely entertaining. And the food was good as well as reasonably priced. Was the food exceptional? No. But it was more than adequate. The coffee was pretty good for a diner. The portions were substantial, especially for breakfast sausage lovers (I am not one). I read Susie M.'s review and as result opted for the creamed chip beef (a dish I only eat on recommendation). I thought it was thin and kind of flat in taste. Mostly I was turned off by the smell in the back room where we sat. It had that Karn's bloody meat mixed with ammonia smell. Although the food was just average, this place has classic diner written all over it. The front of West Shore Diner look dilapidated with an AC hanging on for dear life. There's a larger seating area in the back and it feels like you're sitting on a hill because the floor is so significantly slanted. The food here was alright. We had biscuits and gravy, with eggs, bacon an d toast, as well as some pancakes. The biscuits and gravy were pretty good but definitely needed some added pepper and hot sauce. Pancakes were slightly above average. The coffee was standard diner coffee. In terms of bang for your buck the place is amazing. Everything I just mentioned cost a mere 11 bucks. Good luck finding that elsewhere. All in all it was a great diner experience and I would recommend the place if you want an out of the way diner where only locals eat. read more

I arrived on a recent Wednesday afternoon and took a seat in a booth on the far right end. I was just given the specials printed on a piece of paper and thought that this diner really cut back on their selections. I finally ordered a Italian cheese steak and a piece of pie for $ 5.00, as printed on the specials. My cheese steak was tasty BUT was served on a hamburger-type bun. I was expecting a steak roll! Only after eating my piece of peach pie, did a party come in and ordered items not on the specials. I asked the waitress about the full service menu and she replied, " I didn't think you wanted to see it." I was taken back somewhat and really wanted to order something from more than a half dozen choices. This is a diner and not worth getting upset over and if I was offered the full menu, I probably would have ordered a platter or even something that would have cost more and perhaps left a bigger tip. I have only had breakfast, but the other menu items look good as well (homemade chicken pot pie) but if you are looking for comfort food--a great choice. The food is not stellar, but it is consistently good and the portions are very generous. Now the price---somewhere between the 40s and now. You can get a full breakfast here for the price of an egg McMuffin at Mcdonalds! The place seemed dirty all around, but I was hopeful about the food based upon other's positive reviews. Our food was just okay. I had the egg scramble and it seemed to have more potatoes and less eggs than other places I frequent for breakfast. I had to scrap off some dried food from my spoon, so I used my knife to stir my coffee. The ketchup bottle was gross. The sugar jar was really gross. It felt greasy and there was sugar caked to the spout. There was a slice of toast missing from my plate when it was served. Our breakfast seemed overpriced for what we received (and the fact that everything seems sticky and dirty). After reading the other reviews I had to write my own review of this place. One person said the place was clean and neat. Dear Lord I'd hate to see this person's house! The West Shore Diner has to be the dirtiest neglected diner I've ever seen. It's filthy, really! For years the roof leaked and the booths were in shreds. No screens on the windows in the summer. They do have great breakfasts and cheap prices. The staff and owners are all friendly. The soups are tasteless and the crackers are stale. About 3 years ago they had great lunch and dinner specials. Ham steak was one that comes to mind. The specials now are nothing special and most include a crappy sandwich with greasy fries or tasteless soup. I'm honestly amazed it's still open. I see very few cars there anymore when I drive past. The owners blame the economy but my opinion is the place needs a complete overhaul and some better quality food. read more

Love this place. It's a diner, one of the oldest in PA. The food is good, they have great specials and it's cheap. I generally stick to a cheeseburger, fries and a milkshake. Its such a shame. We used to come to this diner all of the time and the waitress was always nice and bubbly, and we always had good service, a nice breakfast experience, left full, and went about our day. Ive been recently avoiding the diner anymore out of complete disgust for the b|+€# thats in the back weekend mornings anymore. Makes us feel awkward and completely unwelcome like were a pain in her a$$. She takes the order, brings the food out, slams the plate on the table, asks if we need anything else then disappears. When she does return, she will give a look around like she doesnt notice that we need drinks and maybe a box or even just the check!!!
