    Linglestown Diner Menu

If you were not looking for the Linglestown Diner you would drive by it. Small diner on a strip mall. I had the French toast and bacon. The French toast was prepackaged but ok. The bacon was crispy. The waiter made sure my coffee was topped off. I will go back for an omelette and home fries. The egg platter looked delicious.

Fresh coffee best start of the day!

Great prices and fast service. A bit tight for space, but very warming service. Specials are well worth it to try.

City Line Diner - This soup more resembled gravy with chicken pieces and spinach. It didn't taste bad was hard to get past the consistency.

Do NOT look at the dessert case when you walk in or you may ruin your delicious breakfast/lunch/dinner. Save that for after the meal. Everything I've had here is fantastic. And the good music they play in the background is another plus. I plan on eating here every day I'm in town if possible. So many things on their menu I want to try. I've been eating breakfast here, I hope I get the opportunity to do dinner. Overall I give this place 2 thumbs W

We were seated pretty quickly, the waitress was nice and helpful, and I thought my mini cheeseburgers were good. They tasted like they were made on the grill which is always good. Now to the stuff that wasn't as good from my husband's and my perspective. The fries weren't too bad. The soup that my husband got was a bit odd and more like a cup of gravy with chicken and spinach. It was something like the creamy chicken and spinach soup. It didn't taste too bad but was a really thick consistency which more resembled gravy. My husband did not like his open faced roast beef sandwich. It was extremely dry and didn't taste good. The brown gravy on that was also an odd consistency and didn't help enough to make the roast beef edible. He had to primarily eat the fries and bread. It's a super old school diner. Breakfast may be better.

I was on my way to my hotel, passing by starving and decided to give it a try. I understand it was a Sunday evening, not too busy the staff were a bit confused on what server had my table. Thankful for the young lady who took my order and care of my table. The entree that I ordered for dinner, wasn't the best in quality or taste. I ordered Captial Chicken.. the description read grilled chicken, pieces of crab meat , broccoli Swiss cheese, and hollandaise sauce, with two sides. The chicken in my opinion, wasn't grilled, extremely chewy , didn't really taste any crab and the holldaise sauce bland. My waitress I overheard say to the kitchen, something to the kitchen about adding paprika to the dish. Luckily I caught it, and declined. That wasn't even listed on the menu as added to the dish. May need a refresh on chicken preparation . This diner sadly wouldn't be my choice to return for an entree. Perhaps, maybe what diners are best for breakfast.

Most diners do breakfast all day and this one was no exception. The steak and eggs were delicious and so was dessert. They didn't have a banana split on the menu but our waitress said she would make one for us. Amazing service. Looked like a diner as well. Counter seating was available too. Awesome diner vibe here. Definitely be back when I'm in the area again.

I probably stop in about once a month, and every single time it hits. I can really only speak to the breakfast side of the menu because that's what I always get -- and more specifically, the Mexican breakfast options -- but wow. The breakfast quesadilla is incredible, and recently I started getting the breakfast burrito. Today I got the smothered breakfast burrito and it absolutely did not disappoint. Legitimately as good as any dedicated burrito spot I've been to as it should be given its a Mexican owned and ran establishment. What I love about this place is that it feels real. It's not trying to be trendy or overly polished like a First Watch or something. It has character. It feels warm, handcrafted, and genuinely cared for. The staff feels super tight-knit, and you can tell there's a lot of pride and love behind the place. I love seeing a Mexican-owned and operated diner doing their thing so well, especially one that feels this rooted in the community. They've also been refurbishing parts of the establishment over time, and it just adds to that feeling that people are actively investing themselves into this place. I can't speak for every item on the menu because honestly I keep ordering the same things over and over. but everything I've had has been fantastic. If you want character over class, comfort over trendiness, and genuinely great food, Yankee Doodle provides it in spades. 5 out of 5.
