We decided to order high spire diner via doordash, and they had BOGO french toast. I am pretty picky with homemade french toast and i loved theirs!!!! It was so yummy & flavorful. I wish they'd include an extra syrup for them however. I found one container to be short syrup for the 3rd french toast. My bf got the sausage gravy & biscuits, which he wasn't a fan of. He says the biscuit seems more like a hamburger bun than a biscuit.. He also got homefries & said they're good. read more

This is becoming our new favorite spot! Breakfast is delish and I love the multiple eggs Benedict options for variety though I often get the basic over easy eggs with bacon and home fries, which are great and I am not typical fan of home fries. We were in town from Arizona and found this city and restaurant. It looked very intriguing so we thought we would check it out. Highspire Diner did not disappoint!! Our waitress was super sweet. I don't recall her name but it was her first day. She was the perfect waiters and let me tell you.....I ordered the basic eggs and bacon breakfast and also biscuits with sausage gravy. All of it was so good but the bacon, is the absolute best bacon I've ever eaten in my life! It truly was perfectly cooked bacon! Ambiance was great in the original classic diner but had a slight odor. We ordered a Sideliner and creamed chipped beef over toast with homefries. Food was cooked to order. Sideliner was very good according to my husband, however, my creamed chipped beef was quite dry (the gravy part)--the potatoes were good though. Service was good and friendly. This place is TINY. Like, you need to be prepared for a wait if its busy and either way its tight. Very basic breakfast dishes, no frills. Kids menu is ridiculously cheap. Mickey pancakes is really just 3 circles in different sizes. It only comes with one 2/3 slice of bacon so if you like bacon, you better order and entire extra side. Loved this joint. I was visiting the town for a wedding, and went for breakfast on Sunday. You can tell a lot of people consider this their "3rd place" - comfortable, enjoyable atmosphere-- kind to newcomers. Staff had some funny banter with regulars and newcomers. My food was fantastic- exactly what you want for breakfast - pancakes were super tasty and my eggs were cooked perfect. Big fan- will be back when back in town. read more

Ohhhhhhh yeah! This excellent old school fun diner atmosphere was just what we needed during a stressful week. Came back multiple times because it was a fast favorite. I had the pleasure of dining at this establishment with my brother Thursday late morning. I ordered the big breakfast and so did my brother. I must confess the portions were delightful along with the taste of the meal. I was very pleased with the pricing as well. My server went above and beyond demonstrating high quality service, attentiveness, and stamina. TA was my waitress and her customer service will definitely be a factor on why I'll be recommending this business to family and friends. We stopped by on the way back home from Hershey Park and this place is so cute!! It's the original diner from the 50's, but it's very clean and comfortable. Food had VERY reasonable prices, but was really good. Sausage was amazing, pancakes were great- Just very classic and tasty breakfast food. The owner was also a sweetheart! Super nice and accommodating. If you are looking for a diner, this is definitely the place to go! Only thing is that since it is a cozy place, groups larger than 4 probably would need to be accommodated. read more

You have to stop here and eat! The ambiance is so unique because they haven't changed much since the 1950s. The food is classic diner food, very good, and perfect for breakfast with the entire family. The service was what you expect from a small town, kind and prompt. The Highspire Diner was recommended as a great lunch stop on our way from Philadelphia to Pittsburgh and after going there, the Highspire Diner is a fun and delicious destination in itself. It is very easy to get to, right off 76 near Harrisburg. The classic vintage diner instantly takes you back to the 50s and the interior is immaculate and classic. Very friendly and fast service and the food was fantastic! I had the Chicken Fried Steak which I highly recommend. It was perfectly cooked, delicious and so generous a portion that I literally didn't have room for dessert which I wanted to try! My dining partner had the crabcake which he said was delicious. Diner lovers, lovers of vintage diners and lovers of great food - you should make the time to visit the Highspire Diner!! Superb! read more

Drove by this place on way to airport! So we came back this way and stopped for breaky. I'm have special broccoli cheddar omelet, home fries English muffin. They are famous for their rope sausage so I ordered a side of that! She said it's a bit sweet. Bf ordered other special flat iron steak with home fries n bagel. Now he did want his steak med rare and it came back med well... but oh well he ate it anyway. It's such a cute place ... can't always complain right? Right. Instead of the rich, thick, yellow gravy I've always loved, it was thin and almost like a clear broth. The waffle arrived folded over on the plate, so even the presentation wasn't very appealing. My mashed potatoes were fine, but my second side was a single-serving lunch cup of applesauce, which honestly felt more like something packed in a school lunch than something served in a restaurant. Unfortunately, the atmosphere wasn't much better. The first booth I sat in was dirty, so I moved to another one. I genuinely felt sorry for my waitress because she was obviously overwhelmed. She was pleasant, apologized several times, and was clearly doing the best she could under the circumstances. She kept mentioning that her relief person never showed up and was running around trying to keep up with everything. The cook even came out and announced, "That's the last order I'm taking," which made the whole dining room feel tense and uncomfortable. It was made exactly as requested and was very good. What concerned me most, however, was what I observed regarding sanitation. I watched a container of individual half-and-half cups accidentally spill onto the floor. Instead of discarding them, they were picked up and placed right back into the refrigerator to be served to future customers. Later, I also watched clean drinking cups dropped onto the floor and then placed back with the clean cups instead of being rewashed. Those are the kinds of things customers notice, and they undermine confidence in a restaurant's sanitation practices. Checkout was also frustrating. Even though I was the only customer waiting to pay, it took three employees about five to seven minutes to figure out an issue at the register. I don't enjoy leaving negative reviews, especially for a restaurant I've supported for so many years. My hope is that management takes this as constructive feedback because Angie's has been one of my favorite destination restaurants for a decade. I'd love to recommend it with the same enthusiasm I always have, but the food quality, sanitation practices, and overall dining experience need attention. Loyal customers notice these things because we genuinely want to see a restaurant we love continue to succeed.

Grabbed a burger not knowing it was national burger day and everyone else today had ordered the burger. It's a good burger but could use a little more seasoning. It was cooked to medium like I ordered it and the waffle fries were crispy. The people there tonight were so fun and friendly. They were helpful and honest. I ordered a Greek Salad with grilled chicken, and they did not disappoint. I got a huge salad, loaded with flavor and delicious chicken and my favorite, feta! It was perfect, and the dressing was pretty decent too. I always ask for it on the side to control the amount. I was skeptical so I actually asked all the staff if I would be disappointed if I ordered my dinner here. The man who helped me was so kind; they told me about the changes and promised me a good experience. The chef even came out and reassured me it would be good, but asked if he could use the better-looking lettuce because he felt the Romaine would not be as good. And viola, it was incredible with spring mix. Great experience, I would highly recommend staying here. It's super clean, the restaurant area and bar area are big, open, and well-light, with nice tv screens, and a good variety on the menu. Try it out!

After our flights got delayed, we had some time to kill and some empty stomachs. Brownstone Cafe…read morewas close to the airport so we decided to check it out. I'm pretty sure it used to be a bank and the interior is pretty cool. From the upper level you can see some model trains running. I got the chicken pie for lunch. It was a lot of food and it definitely hit the spot. I had a great time here and if I'm ever back in town I'll probably want to stop in again.
