My first time to Harrisburg and loved the little airport. Easy to get in / out, very clean, etc. however the food overall in this airport as well as the service was horrible. We came here after waiting 20 minutes to be served at Capital Cafe where there was only one server and a "busboy" that really didn't do anything. Despite all the tables being full, numerous people standing and trying to waive someone down for their checks, he refused to help the poor woman all alone; no bringing menus, no bringing water, nothing. So out of necessity we walked to Phillips. Much less crowded but again, short staffed, where the manager was serving everyone and making the drinks since they didn't have a server. She was very kind and sweet making us a Bloody Mary but once we received the food, it was just horrible. We both ordered the crab cakes with eggs for breakfast. The crab cake tasted/smelled extremely fishing and was like warm. Don't think it was fully cooked but can't be certain. The eggs were drenched with oil and tons of seasonings that made them not actually taste like eggs at all. I never touched the toast covered in butter and instead ate the French fries only as it was the only edible thing. The entire airport restaurant group needs to up their game, service, and quality. Service started out with a happy fast greeting. Soup came out Luke warm. Drink refills we had wait a good long time for a refill. Half of our meal came out visibly burnt . Fried burnt and brittle . I guess they got you. The reviews are bad for reason. Come for a drink not the food. Service was still friendly even though everything else was poor. Decent food for a regional small airport. Not very busy and was able to get a drink right away at the bar.

It's pretty good but overpriced. Sampler appetizer had excellent shrimp and little crab balls of meat. Plus the calamari was good and 3 different dipping sauces. Mahi mahi was good but rather small in portion with a scoop of mashed potatoes and some fried zucchini. Probably about 25% less food and about 25% higher prices than one would expect. I'm giving it 4 stars because I think it is fair to compare them with their competitor at the terminal and I would return here as it was good food. read more

This is an extremely racist establishment with mediocre food. Will not be coming back. Waited for a seat and had others seated before me.

We stopped for breakfast at 5:00 am as they open at 4:30am. First we ordered 2 coffees. The waitress said they don't have coffee because when people ordered it, it tastes like mud and sent it back. Unfortunately my 2 experiences at this location have been far less than satisfactory. My personal experience on 5/15/22 & 5/16/22 with each of the bar tenders at this location have been undesirable, not as much as a pleasant greeting or a smile. Of course I did not take it personally but simply associated it to their work conditions, though I could not be 100% sure. My guess is the fact that both bar tenders appeared to be a bit stressed from the requirements of their work load, having to tend to both the bar and entire dining room. The food was okay, though my calamari seemed to be much darker than expected, my crab cakes and shrimp were good on the other hand. CRABCAKES! SHRIMP! YUM! Phillips Seafood, Maryland's favorite seafood chain, opened a location at the Harrisburg airport in April 2011. Once ticketed passengers enter thru security, it is just inside to the right in the A Terminal, near gate A1. The crab and shrimp combo platter were just as tasty as I remember from my 7-month consulting job at Johns Hopkins years ago...where I frequently enjoyed the pleasure of an expense account and access to several nearby locations of Phillips! If you have a little time before your flight, I suggest a stopover. If not, plan to have extra time the next time you are at Harrisburg! read more

Surprisingly very good for an airport restaurant. The restaurant was clean and the small staff was attentive. We were able to get seated immediately and I enjoyed the fish and chips dinner. Tasty tartar sauce and creamy coleslaw and hush puppies accompany the meal and the fish and chips we're crunchy and tasty as well. The bar was crowded as many airport bars are. After missing lunch due to work, I made it to the airport in time for something more substantial than a granola bar and some nuts. The airport doesn't have much in terms of sit down food, so Philips was the obvious choice. There were plenty of tables and I was easily able to find one with a plug to recharge before the flight. I had the seafood sampler and the Philips salad. Seafood Sampler: fried butterfly shrimp, crab cakes, crab and shrimp egg rolls. The shrimp were good - nice and crispy, and not too much breading. The mini crab cakes (more like crab balls) were very mustard-y (which I like) and the crab tasted fresh. The egg rolls seemed a little fishy and a the skin was a little undercooked, but they were much improved by the sweet chili sauce. The salad was quite impressive for an airport. It was a good mix of greens, with pine nuts, gorgonzola, mandarin oranges. It was fresh, colorful, and tasty. The service was fast enough to get me the meal and the check inside of 40 minutes. Needed a meal prior to flying to Charlotte. Restaurant wasn't busy but incredibly understaffed. The fish and chips were SUPER underwhelming for $15.99, and while the waitress was trying, she couldn't keep up. Had to beg for a second soda, and the check. Then she walked away with my credit card and the check and disappeared for at least 10 minutes. When I finally got her attention she asked if she could bring me the check. Wasting time while waiting on a flight. This is always a favorite as their appatizers are always delicious and everything is always fresh and hot. As we sat down at a table we were informed that they were hoping the cook would arrive in 10 minutes if we could wait till then to order. Hmmmmm! Unfortunately this is the only sit down dining / bar option at MDT. I've stopped here before my flight twice now. The same bartender has been working both times (I assume he's worked there a while given his behavior). To start, he acts as if it's inconvenient you're there. He acts unprofessional and condescending towards all the patrons. I also witnessed him make inappropriate comments about another, female patron. After being seated for a while and finally getting his attention, I asked for my drink and a water. By the time I left, I never got the water after asking twice. I also ordered food and never got napkins, despite asking. After eating my food and finishing my beverage, I pulled my card out and proceeded to wait some time to get his attention again to ask to cash out. After getting his attention and asking to cash out, he said "hold on" and another 10 minutes lapsed before he finally got to me. He gave me my receipt to sign, but no itemized receipt. When I asked for one, he seemed pretty pissed off. To sum it up, he's rude, slow, absent minded, and just an all around awful bartender. I can't speak for most of the food, but my french fries (something pretty hard to screw up) were pretty awful. Looking around the restaurant and bar, other patron's experiences seemed to be in line with mine. My advice, wait til your next stop. It's not worth it, AT ALL. read more

Wonderful service, very clean, awesome food. My wife had the veggie omlet and I had the BLT. Both were great!! The omlet was so cheesey inside and out and lots of different veggies. The BLT was absolutely perfect! The perfect amount of mayo and loads of perfectly crispy bacon. Sat and asked for a burger; 30 minutes later my flight was boarding so I told the staff to forget the burger but I'll pay for my drink. They still charged me for the burger- company policy apparently. In the staffs defense, they understood the policy was misplaced and pushed to get me one to go.
