A hand with a wedding ring holds an open clam shell containing a cooked clam with a yellowish sauce or butter. The background shows a wooden table and a blurred smartphone, indicating a dining environment.

The food was good. The service was on point and it was a nice atmosphere coherent was a cool fish tank as well.

The image shows a metal plate with two cooked steaks, one larger and one smaller, seasoned with spices. Next to the steaks are steamed broccoli florets, roasted potatoes, and cooked onions. The meal appears to be served in a restaurant setting, with the food arranged on a metal serving dish.

Food was terrible and overpriced. Appearance of exterior and interior was run down; nothing like the previous Corner Stable.

Tried for second time and was in the bathroom less than 20 min after leaving the restaurant. Risky, risky gamble.

Fantastic from appetizers to desserts. I was there for a private dinner meeting. It was held…read moreupstairs. The server did a great job with making sure that our drinks were filled, and we had to go boxes and brought our food out in a timely manner. Some of the appetizer choices were the calamari, fried kale and crab claw lollipops. All three were absolutely outstanding, and the portions were large. For dinner, our choices are rockfish, lobster, mac & cheese, filet mignon, or grilled chicken green curry. Again, the portion sizes were large and everyone enjoyed their meals. We were able to choose from a flourless chocolate torte or cheesecake. I forgot to mention that the Caesar salad was so fresh and the dressing was outstanding. I would like to come back and experience the restaurant and their entire menu. The upstairs had a fun, urban feel with a fireplace and a cool bar. We felt comfortable and it was a fun vibe.

If you're looking for a coastal escape in the middle of PA, Rockfish Public House is the spot. Ever…read moresince they opened in 2016, they've been the gold standard for fresh seafood in downtown York. It's got that elevated "public house" vibe--stylish enough for a date but relaxed enough for a casual weekday hang. The Oyster Happy Hour The absolute best way to experience this place is their Oyster Happy Hour. It's arguably the best deal in town and a total magnet for the after-work crowd. The Deal: Usually running until 6:00 PM, you get "happy hour on the half shell" pricing that makes indulging in a dozen (or two) actually affordable. The Variety: They don't just stick to one house oyster; they typically rotate through boutique selections from the East Coast, so you can really compare the salinity and finishes. The BBQ Shrimp While the raw bar gets a lot of love, you have to try the BBQ Shrimp Skewer. These aren't your average grilled shrimp; they come bacon-wrapped with a perfect glaze and a hit of cheddar. It's smoky, savory, and exactly the kind of rich appetizer you want to pair with a cold craft beer. The Verdict Rockfish has been a cornerstone of George Street for nearly a decade for a reason. Whether you're a seasoned oyster connoisseur or you're just there for the seafood nachos and a smash burger, the quality is consistently top-tier. Pro Tip: It gets crowded fast during that happy hour window, so try to snag a spot at the first-floor bar early!

My wife had the fish and chips. Food was good and plentiful. Service was very good, ate with some old friends, there was no rush, they gave us plenty of space. The menu is varied, specials are not typical fare, but also do not become science projects like so many "creations" do. The food is left to speak for itself. Affordable. Two small criticisms, can be loud in certain areas. They are very accommodating in moving you. The parking lot. Walking over the bridge can be an issue with cars. Worth the trip.

The broth is rich and deeply savory, the cheese pull is perfect, and the crispy rings add a texture you never knew the classic was missing. The pork chop remains the star of the menu--huge, expertly seasoned, and cooked with precision. It's widely considered the best in the city, and honestly might be the best in the state. Juicy, tender, and full of flavor, it's the kind of entrée you end up recommending to friends for weeks. Their octopus is another standout, prepared with surprising delicacy. Tender, not chewy, with a perfect char that adds just the right amount of smokiness. It's balanced, refined, and one of the most memorable small plates you'll find locally. And don't leave without dessert--the crème brûlée is phenomenal. Silky smooth custard under a flawlessly torched sugar crust that cracks just right. Simple, classic, and executed perfectly. Between the inventive dishes and the warm atmosphere, The First Post remains a must-visit for anyone who loves great food done exceptionally well.

We all wanted to sit in the bar area to have dinner and drinks (the only one ordering alcohol was the birthday girl) and we had presumed we could get happy hour prices from 4-6 pm . This was on Sunday, and my mistake was not knowing that they had opened at 11am. However the problem arose when my friend, who is disabled (she has a rod in her back) asked the young women at the front door whether they had a table available in the bar area, as there would be 3 of us dining and due to her disability she was unable to sit on the barstool. However, the birthday girl would still like to enjoy happy hour prices! Immediately my friend was shut down in a very condescending manner, and told we don't do that! Only people who sit at the bar get happy hour prices. My friend then asked these young ladies to please get their manager, she would be going to the ladies room and would like to speak with a manager upon her return. One of the girls asked her would she like to be walked to the bathroom? She was advised that wasn't necessary, just please provide a manager. I clearly let these young girls know that my friend was not looking for preferential treatment, not looking for a favor, this is THE LAW! One cannot discriminate against the disabled! Now yes, it turns out that we were not in the hours where we could get happy hour prices, and that was absolutely fine. But these young women need to be schooled on the ADA . As it turned out, the manager was a lovely, knowledgeable and kind woman who knew her job well. She explained that they had opened at 11am, therefore happy hour had ended (we arrived at 4pm). But she was professional and courteous. The food was delicious and the service was wonderful. My complaint is with the door staff not being made aware of ADA laws and that they are in fact not something they can choose to ignore or enforce at their own discretion.
