Ordered delivery and was impressed at the flavor and amount of food- we ordered General tsos chicken- to be honest 4 stars because the sauce was a little sweet to me but great portion size and love that they add broccoli in it. Spicy salmon rolls were delicious, broccoli in garlic sauce was a great portion as well and really good flavor. My favorite has to be the wonton soup good amount of wontons and such good flavor! This was my first time ordering and they added a small hot and sour soup on the house!!! My husband and I stopped in for a late dinner, less than an hour before closing, since our usual restaurant in the area had already closed. There were a few people picking up to-go orders, but no one dining inside, so we weren't sure if they would let us dine in. They did! The menus are nothing fancy, but there's a ton of options and something for everyone (sushi, rice bowls, bento boxes, appetizers, noodle bowls, etc.). We had a hard time choosing, but got the crab rangoons, a California roll, the Godzilla roll, a shrimp tempura roll, the Ichiban roll, and the tempura kani roll. We also got a large shrimp lo mein. The shrimp lo mein was FULL of shrimp and was a HUGE portion for only around $10. That is a steal in this economy. The crab rangoons were good, with a thick sweet and sour sauce to go with them. All of the sushi was so fresh, made to order, and came BEAUTIFULLY plated. We were blown away. The plates had decorations with little vases and dry ice, in addition to botanical items. All of the rolls were incredible. The basic rolls are so reasonably priced, and the Ichiban roll was worth the splurge. That was our favorite one! Service was 10/10 - someone was always checking in on us, refilling our drinks, and making sure we enjoyed the food. We let them know how good the food was and were so shocked when they brought us a dessert on the house. We live 30 minutes away but already are planning a trip back!! Let me start by saying I love Wild Ginger. I'm from NYC and it's hard to find a "real" Chinese restaurant. OK, Wild Ginger isn't strictly Chinese, but it's close enough. Never had a disappointing meal there, and the service is excellent. However, I was let down by my takeout order this evening. I ordered vegetable Lo Mein with chicken added. The operative word here should be "vegetable." There were scant few vegetables. The lonely pea pod. A sad water chestnut. What's that hiding behind a noodle? Ah, a skinny slice of onion. Seriously, you can do better! Peas, carrots, bok choy, broccoli, scalions - you get the idea. Please, Wild Ginger, I know Lo Mein isn't exotic like sushi, or at the same level as your (excellent) Mongolian beef, but still, it's on your menu and deserves to be elevated to the same level of deliciousity (just made that up) as your other offerings. read more

This is still my go to sushi place in York! Their lunch specials are so affordable. I especially like that they don't put too much rice in the rolls and the rice is well cooked. I only Took off one star because I feel their non-sushi items could be better. My husband got the pad Thai lunch special and it was truly terrible and inauthentic. Whatever rolls that you like, I don't think you can go wrong. All depends on your personal taste. I especially love anything with raw fresh salmon so I'm a huge fan of the salmon avocado rolls, salmon rolls, spicy salmon crunchy rolls. I also think this sashimi lunch special is a fantastic deal. The miso soup was really watery the first time I got it, but every single time I've got it since then, it has been on point. They give a big container of it as well. This Japanese restaurant doesn't disappoint!!! This is like my fifth time and everything we have ordered thus far is made fresh with great flavor! I love crab Rangoon and now this place is my favorite to order at!! Well done for the exception of the excruciating sweet sauce they serve. The service is always the same, top notch. I've tried a variety of dishes at Wild Ginger, but I come back for the red curry again and again. And there's a good reason for that - it is excellent! Five of us came for dinner and so five separate dishes were had. Here are the opinions of the night: my red curry with shrimp and minimal spice- fantastic! Large shrimp, a somewhat sweet broth with enough spice for me. Bamboo shoots, onion, pineapple, green and red peppers, and eggplant served with white rice. General Tao's tofu- fried tofu chunks in a spicy sauce pronounced to be delicious. Chicken with snow peas- tasty but too salty for the diner. A taster said it wasn't too salty, but it's all relative. Chicken with broccoli- diner said it was great but had to find a server to get a knife to cut the large pieces of broccoli. The one dish that wasn't great was pork mei fun. Mei fun are wide noodles but this noodle dish was very thin noodles with small pieces of roast pork and slivers of vegetables. It looked like pad Thai but without appreciable flavor. I tasted it and if I'd ordered it I'd probably have sent it back for lack of taste. There was one other problem and that was that 3 of us ordered soup, the hot and sour was good, as always. Another diner and I ordered the creamy mushroom soup. New for me, and it was good: pieces of mushrooms in a broth that was chicken and mushroom stick with what I think were puréed vegetables. Tasted good but not spectacular. The biggest problem was that we waited quite a while to get our soup and as we started to eat our soup our meals came out. Another diner and I asked for containers for the soup. 3rd person ate his soup and that was good because he ordered the mei fun which was not the hit of the night. I like the place and the people but it's not the first time that the timing of soup and entree weren't right. Next time I will ask to make sure the entree comes out after the soup. I love the red curry- there will definitely be a next time. read more

After changing owners, this place is so good. We hadn't been for years, gave it a try a few months ago and it's so good we've been back weekly. Yesterday I ran in for a pick up order and a dine in couple, well the female, was berating the waitress over an expired coupon from 2018. Telling her that she has a lawyor friend that she's contacting and she hasn't been there in years and won't be back. That she's telling everyone she know not to eat here. Don't listen to her! . Then they paid and shorted the bill by the coupon amount, $10. The waitress went out and said "you didn't pay enough, can I at least have the coupon", but "Karen" just kept walking. The poor waitress was beside herself. She was so upset she looked like she was going to cry. She had to pay the shorted amount. The food is criminally overpriced for the quality you receive. There were panko bread crumbs in both of my rolls but both were very soggy. Both rolls tasted very fishy, in a bad way. There was some sort of fresh seaweed on the outside? I'm not sure, it wasn't soy paper like you would have with an angel roll or pink lady. But it was slimy and unappetizing. Stopped in over lunch - don't let the hole-in-the-wall exterior fool you. It's lovely and clean inside. The food is wonderful and presented well. I'm not a sushi person, but someone in the neighboring both got some - that plate was stunning. There's a TV with a photo carousel of dishes, everything is really beautiful. I've been to many Asian fusion places, and most of them are decent or good, but this one is REALLY good! My girlfriend got two different types of sushi rolls - sweet potato roll and the Philly roll - both of which were great. We had an appetizer of tempura vegetables, which were great. The broccoli managed to be super tender with a soft crispy outside and that was just perfect! I ordered two pieces of unagi and General Tso's chicken. The chicken was magnificently crispy on the outside with a soft, tender, juicy inside. The flavor of the sauce was perfect - spicy enough to clear sinuses, but sweet and flavorful enough to not overpower you with spice. Servers were all very friendly and attentive! Really nice folks. Food came quickly after ordering and was served at the appropriate temperature (steam coming off of my chicken platter, warm unagi, and nice, cold sushi rolls) If you're in the area and looking for decent Asian good, skip the rest and go to the best.
