    Nan Ji Thoke

I was in the area doing some Christmas shopping and made it a point to grab lunch here after I had a good first experience. Upon entry I was quickly seated and cold water was brought to the table. During my last time here I discovered the cooks are Burmese so I promised myself that I would order a Burmese dish the next time I came. Today was the day to do exactly that. I placed my order and waited for my food to arrive. Eventually my order arrived. Nan Ji Thoke: a savory noodle dish with chicken and hard boiled egg garnished with onion and crunchy split chickpeas. The dish is accompanied by a side of clear vegetable broth. Shortly after my food arrived I noticed the waitress speaking with someone who came out of the kitchen. I was then introduced to this man who happened to be the owner. We struck up pleasant conversation about Burmese food, my limited experience with it and desire to further explore this cuisine. Our chat led deeper into discussion about restaurants in Philadelphia and what cuisines should come to Lancaster. Aside from the conversation, the dish was fantastic. I had Nan Ji Thoke before but this expression was better than I ever had. I made sure I verbally expressed this as well. I savored the flavor on my palette for approximately the next two hours. I definitely plan on returning and hope you visit if you never have before.

Hills to sea roll. Very yummy

Sadly not very busy but the food was excellant. The service was great as well, they kept coming over to check on us. The sushi rolls we had were very good and flavorful. I got the Hills to sea with softshelled crab and it was very tasty and liked the fish eggs on top for an added pop.

We are locals and have been here many times. It's delicious, well managed, and well staffed. The food preparation is thoughtful and deliberate. The menu has expected Asian fusion options but plenty of unique items too. It's hard for me to pick a favorite. I really like the fried pork dumplings and the sushi is on point. If you are looking for an Asian inspired lunch or dinner, look no further. Hills to Sea will check all the boxes!

The ambiance here is nice and casual, the server and food runner were friendly. The Tulip Dumpling appetizer was a little bland but we liked the subtle taste when dipped in the sweet sauce it was served with. The Double Crab roll is filling and looked beautiful and the stir-fried thick noodle dish was delightful! YOURE able to add a protein for an additional charge but I opted out. I'd come again.

Easy online ordering for takeout. Shrimp pad thai was ok. Little skimpy on the shrimp (3-4) had 4-5 pieces of tofu. Three sushi rolls were great - spicy california, softshell crab and eel/avocado were great!! Crab rangoons were really good - more crab then cream cheese. Steamed dumplings were very tasty. They are tucked in a little strip mall. Quiet, nicely decorated restaurant on the inside. Will definitely try them again.

    Khao Soi

This was a surprise. A new asian restaurant in Ephrata of all places with wonderful food. They had Khao Soi on the menu which is a rare treat. Was it the same as from the street market in Chiang Rai? No. But it was very good and we are looking forward to eating here again. Don't miss this place!

I could have that comforting ramen dish every single week, it's THAT good. The beef chunks were also very tender and not at all dry. Although I don't live nearby, I'd love any excuse to return and try more yummy looking offerings from their menu.

Noodle Shack is located in a shopping center so there is ample parking available. During my first visit, I had the pleasure to try takoyaki for the first time. These soft, pillowy octopus fritters garnished with sauce and bonito flakes that danced as they reacted to the heat we're as exciting to try as they were delicious. Upon entry today I was quickly seated and was one of two occupied tables in the dining room. The waiter came over and took my order of Zhanjiangmian. My previewed the menu online beforehand so I already knew what I was going to order. The interior of the restaurant is spacious, clean and cozy. Not long after I place my order I got my food. Zhanjiang is a fermented soybean paste and to make the dish pork and mushrooms are added to make the sauce. To my delight, I was welcomed with a warm and savory noodle dish packed with umami that just seemed perfect for this cold weather. The dish itself does not come spicy so I requested a side of chili oil which I used had some heat and this just amplified how tasty this dish was. I was pleased with my order and would definitely eat this dish again. My only complaint about today's experience, which is a pet peeve of mine, is when the server places the check on the table before I am finished eating. Fortunately, most establishments don't follow this protocol. And although it is my only complaint I do not feel this would prevent me from going back try more of their menu.

I'm doing a little happy dance in my seat, humming and dancing, cause the Chicken Chili was a flavorful punch of savory and sweet heat. The chunks of chicken were perfectly tender, something many restaurants can't seem to accomplish - so props for DF for succeeding. An order of garlic naan, omg Good - pillowy, butter, fresh garlic LOVED it. This is when the meal begins to descent downward. My fried momo's arrived, though tasty, much smaller than the picture shown on the menu. I was served miniature momos, in my opinion. My hubby, always wanting to try something new, ordered a selroti - the picture showed a stack of four very large onion ring looking things and the menu read, deep fried sweet rice flour, crispy exterior, soft fluffy on the inside. My cuddly dudd socks are soft, fluffy; this interior was hard, chewy; I actually had to continuously chew on it for a few minutes, to get the momentum going, to soften this, whatever it was. And instead of four pieces, we received one (highly doubt my teeth could have handled three more rings). Lastly, my meal gave me a migraine; this was a first for me. When I heated up my leftovers, my migraine reappeared - very odd indeed.
