Kimchi Soup, Pad Thai and Bibimbap

Went here for lunch and was so thankful we did- the wait staff is lovely and attentive, the food was DELICIOUS- homemade taste and perfect level of spice. If you like East Asian cuisine, definitely give this place a try! Also- prices are very reasonable. Best of luck to Golden Lotus, our family will be back!

Golden Lotus is by far one of my favorite restaurants OF ALL TIME! No joke, this place is a jewel and we're so lucky it is based out of our local town. Every single dish tastes great! They have THE BEST Drunken Noodles, Beef Salad, Pad Thai, Tom Yum soup, Tofu Soup and Tea Lead Salad that I have ever tried! I've tried several other dishes in their menu and loved every one. Favorites from friends include their Shrimp Spring Roles with their peanut sauce and Hainanese Chicken. You can't beat their prices too - they have THE BEST and most reasonable prices of any restaurant around. The family that owns this restaurant is so sweet too! They have lived in Myanmar (Burma), Thailand, then Indonesia and have moved here bringing dishes to their menu that reflect the countries they've lived in and more spread across Southeast Asia. Their mom has a hand in cooking every single dish, and whatever she does is magic. The daughter runs everything and is most definitely the one greeting you when you walk in. Ask her anything, she can describe everything dish in detail. And they always take preferences and allergies into consideration! Tell them what you like and or can't have and they'll make sure the dishes are made to meet and exceed your expectations. Even with coconut allergies, they will make fresh batches of Tom Yum soup that are normally coconut milk- based. Seriously, don't debate about it. Try them out and see exactly what I mean! p.s. Their passion fruit juice is super tasty too. The ambience of the restaurant is definitely family style and it's getting cuter and cuter with each visit!

Stopped in for my last lunch of 2025. I thought I had submitted a review before for this…read morerestaurant but it looks like I haven't so this post will include additional pictures from my first experience here. Noodle Shack is located in a shopping center so there is ample parking available. During my first visit, I had the pleasure to try takoyaki for the first time. These soft, pillowy octopus fritters garnished with sauce and bonito flakes that danced as they reacted to the heat we're as exciting to try as they were delicious. Upon entry today I was quickly seated and was one of two occupied tables in the dining room. The waiter came over and took my order of Zhanjiangmian. My previewed the menu online beforehand so I already knew what I was going to order. The interior of the restaurant is spacious, clean and cozy. Not long after I place my order I got my food. Zhanjiang is a fermented soybean paste and to make the dish pork and mushrooms are added to make the sauce. To my delight, I was welcomed with a warm and savory noodle dish packed with umami that just seemed perfect for this cold weather. The dish itself does not come spicy so I requested a side of chili oil which I used had some heat and this just amplified how tasty this dish was. I was pleased with my order and would definitely eat this dish again. My only complaint about today's experience, which is a pet peeve of mine, is when the server places the check on the table before I am finished eating. Fortunately, most establishments don't follow this protocol. And although it is my only complaint I do not feel this would prevent me from going back try more of their menu.

I could have that comforting ramen dish every single week, it's THAT good. The beef chunks were also very tender and not at all dry. Was pretty cool to see okonomiyaki on the menu as well - we split it between two of us as an appetizer. Although I don't live nearby, I'd love any excuse to return and try more yummy looking offerings from their menu.

I thought it would be more crispy but it's more like a syrupy fried donut. Green onion naan: baked to perfection and they don't skimp out on the onions!! It's not really "stuffed", rather rolled into the dough. Goat curry: great portion size and very aromatic/authentic flavor dish. I wish there were some sort of vegetable to balance the meat but overall super delicious! Service 5/5: attentive and welcoming! They switched out dirty plates quickly and made sure our water was filled at all times Ambiance 5/5: great music and lighting! The table was a bit small for the size of the dishes. will definitely be back!!

I'm doing a little happy dance in my seat, humming and dancing, cause the Chicken Chili was a flavorful punch of savory and sweet heat. The chunks of chicken were perfectly tender, something many restaurants can't seem to accomplish - so props for DF for succeeding. An order of garlic naan, omg Good - pillowy, butter, fresh garlic LOVED it. This is when the meal begins to descent downward. My fried momo's arrived, though tasty, much smaller than the picture shown on the menu. I was served miniature momos, in my opinion. My hubby, always wanting to try something new, ordered a selroti - the picture showed a stack of four very large onion ring looking things and the menu read, deep fried sweet rice flour, crispy exterior, soft fluffy on the inside. My cuddly dudd socks are soft, fluffy; this interior was hard, chewy; I actually had to continuously chew on it for a few minutes, to get the momentum going, to soften this, whatever it was. And instead of four pieces, we received one (highly doubt my teeth could have handled three more rings). Lastly, my meal gave me a migraine; this was a first for me. When I heated up my leftovers, my migraine reappeared - very odd indeed.

The doubles? Exceptional. Soft, perfectly filled, and full of flavor. And the hot pepper sauce? Whew. It didn't just add heat, it elevated an already outstanding dish to another level. I ordered so many doubles I barely had room for anything else but I had to try the dhal and it was exactly what I needed. Comforting, rich, and done right. Everything tasted like true, authentic Trini food, the kind that makes you feel warm, satisfied, and already thinking about your next visit. I was literally craving it every single day for the rest of my Lancaster trip. The space itself is on the smaller side, but really cute and inviting. The service was great: friendly, welcoming, and made the whole experience complete. Whether you're new to Trini food or already know what's up, Calaloo will not disappoint. Trust me, you'll be planning your next visit before you even leave.
