It was our first visit. We came specifically for the Greek menu. It did not disappoint. We tried more dishes than we could have eaten as just 2 ppl. We saw that the restaurant's main menu though was also pretty tempting! This would be a 4 or 5 star review if it wasn't for some gaps in service. None of these we attribute to the attentive folks we interacted with. I can only attribute them to management decisions. We had a 530 reservation at Kefi prior to a 730 show at the Fulton... admittedly on a Tuesday which is probably a slower night but we've never previously suffered at a downtown restaurant by coming early on a week night. For the first 45 mins-- it seriously felt like our server was bartender, server, food delivery... we hoped he wasn't cooking but we wouldn't be surprised to learn he made our salads or whatever. It was SERIOUSLY disappointing. We would have been happy for our single servers' achievements except when he was away there was NO ONE paying any attention to us or the slowly increasing number of patrons in the restaurant-- our server had to go downstairs to the kitchen for everything and when he was away there were no other employees in the restaurant. I get it... when it's early you want to keep staff low but this felt exceptionally and sadly low until there were maybe 4 tables and it was 630. If you want to staff that low at a fine dining establishment--- I'd recommend you just don't even open that early. Plus sides: Good drinks. We had a few great martinis. Greek appetizers and entrees offered-- great! We overlooked that one that we chose was also a side dish on our entree so we had a lot more of the grape leaf rolls than we'd ever have imagined... read carefully! I'm sorry to have to say that our lunch at Kifi at Yorgos was the absolute pitts! The food was old and terrible -- but the service was great. Our waitress told us she had begun working there only two days ago, but she was friendly and attentive; she checked on us, but was not intrusive. We were really looking forward to eating Greek food... I ordered moussaka and my two friends ordered spanakopita. The meal started with a rather nice Greek salad. There was too much vinegar in the dressing, but it was nice and fresh, so we had great hopes for the rest of the meal. The spanakopita looked good and was served with 3 little extra canned dolmades. The looks were deceiving, because even after adding some salt and pepper, the spanakopita was completely tasteless. The dolmades were mushy, but had some taste. My moussaka already looked unappetizing: it looked old and overdone. It was. What should have been that wonderful, unctuous bechamel was a solid slab of tasteless ness, covering a mushy meat mixture which was also completely tasteless. No hint of delicious herbs and cinnamon, no taste of eggplant, tomato, or onion, no tasty beef... nada. I was a little hesitant to even eat it because of how it looked. The canned stuffed grape leaves didn't help either. I ate about a third because I hated for my friend who had in tied us to feel bad.... The waitress asked how our food was. I told her that my dish was tasteless and seemed old. She said she'd tell the cook. She may have, but nobody came out to see what the problem was.... I was afraid to order desert. I stumbled upon this rooftop by accident sorta. I was in the area and we happened to use Yelp to assist us in trying something new. It was kind of confusing to get inside for the first floor from the entrance level from the street is called a different name so you had to go through the restaurant and take the elevator to get up to the second floor rooftop which was called a different name. The first floor looks more like a family dining experience it reminds me of a old school Family Restaurant, however when you get upstairs it opens up to a beautiful well-lit room definitely Instagram worthy. As you walk outside to the mini deck it is very simple but picture worthy still. They only had one server in which it wasn't bad because it was only me and another group in this establishment but I can only imagine how it would be if it was a busy day. The food came out fast and hot and I love the curated cocktails. This is definitely a diamond in a rough for you would never suspect that there was a rooftop bar in this block of Lancaster. read more

Found on yelp while visiting Lancaster and stopped for some Greek food! Online it looks like 3 separate restaurants but it was kind of confusing. I think it's all one place with each floor having a different name? Staff was very friendly. We ate on 3rd floor rooftop which was nice. Not much of a view of anything from up there but it was pleasant and shady and nice to be in the open air. Food was good but I'd call more Mediterranean influenced, not really Greek. They did a nice job accommodating gluten-free needs and can modify almost all of the dishes except for a few. read more

Celebrated our 28th wedding anniversary at KEFI with family who also share the same wedding date too just 6yrs apart . We were met by Tony the owner who seated us, he was very friendly and personable. Our waitress was very good at helping us select our meals, she was very friendly and was very good at keeping things flowing. Our food was delicious all four of us picked something different off the menu and I have to say we were very satisfied. Desert came out with sparklers and we each enjoyed a glass of champagne. Godawful. Prime rib sliced and reheated to a drab gray outside and a tough inside. Lobster ravioli slopped in a goopy "cheese" sauce that tasted like nothing. Pork "flatiron" slathered with unbelievably salty slime. Proprietor looking unbathed in droopy jeans and a rumpled flannel shirt. We loved the rooftop dining. The staff was very friendly and our waiter was excellent. The cocktails were delicious and the menu had interesting items. Unfortunately, the food itself was just ok. My fish was dry (I couldn't even finish it) and although my husband's chicken was tender, it wasn't very moist. Everything else was fine from the appetizers to the sides (but not great). Horrible. Made a reservation for a large group weeks in advance and without warning or notice, restaurant cancelled our reservation at the last minute. When I called to find out what happened, I got some excuse that someone tried calling me to confirm (not true) and because they couldn't get a hold of me, they cancelled my reservation. never had this experience with any restaurant cancelling without notice or lack of concern that they did such a thing having 20+ people look for something else which was impossible. read more

We went to this restaurant after it was recommended to us for my birthday. We aren't familiar with Greek cuisine so never tried it before. We had no complaints. Everything we ordered was amazing from appetizers to entrees to drinks. Lauren, the server and bartender, was phenomenal. The owner was so kind and acknowledged my birthday. We came in for dinner recently after taking in a show at the Fulton. There was only one other table occupied in the restaurant. I ordered the Psari Plaki which is a baked fish dish that I have enjoyed several times in Greece. It was pretty spicy which was not the way I've been served it in Greece. My husband ordered the Paidakia (little lamb chops). They were better than the Psari; a good taste but could have been more tender. We both ordered the garlic smashed potatoes as a side. They were very disappointing; not much garlic flavor and they tasted reheated. We weren't told about specials and we weren't offered dessert or coffee. I gave them 3 stars based on my 2 recent visits. their new redesign is fairly positive, each floor representing a theme, from what I recall. the ground floor virtually remained unchanged for the most part. the 2nd floor is a restaurant style sit-in lounge and the décor seemed to be reminiscence of the 40s-50s. I ate the calamari as an appetizer and it tasted like it was store bought pre-made which I had hoped was freshly cut/prepped daily and breaded but it wasnt' the one bar keep (I was told may had been the son of the owner) gave me an attitude on why I didn't like the calamari after he asked my input which I was annoyed about. lastly, the 3rd floor is a nightclub feel that also has a door to the outside balcony where theres seating for like 20 ppl. if you catch a good evening, you may also be welcomed to a live 'concert' of 2 guys playing old greek music which is kinda cool while enjoying looking at the night sky and such. read more

Firstly, the service was great so that was not at all the problem. I got Tuna and had it prepared rare, it was the strangest, spongy texture I've ever seen. It was not rare, but overcooked somehow. Like they put a piece of rare tuna in the microwave for a minute- I don't know but it was not edible. My husband got a steak and said it was good but nothing to come back for. I even had a double take offer that was $100 worth of food for $50. If I was paying full price, I would've sent my meal back. The establishment was clean and service was great. read more

We had a great meal at KEFI. It's new so it was quiet but I think it will catch on soon. The cocktails are interesting and modern. Infused with lavender and all of those jazzy ingredients! The dressing was yummy as was the feta and olives. The crab cake on top was a nice yummy surprise! My husband got the pork chop which was delicious. Very juicy and tasty. We are Yorgo's veterans, as we used to be locals in downtown Lancaster. We've always loved the bar at Yorgo's and decided to give their new fine dining establishment a shot. We were not disappointed. The mussels were delicious, my husband really liked his steak, and my lamb chops were full of flavor and excellent. We were pleasantly surprised by baklava on the house for no reason whatsoever. This place is a hidden gem... quiet and nice atmosphere and good upscale food. The only reason we gave it a 4/5 was that the service was a little bit slow. We will definitely be back. Our expectations were set so much higher for this new "fine" dining option in Lancaster. The service was slow. The food overall, was just okay. The steaks were good, but the Saganaki cheese flambé, mussels and salads fell short. The cheese was immediately tough after flambé, mussels were overcooked and there wasn't much to the salads but greens. Also, gratuity is included for parties of 6+. Yes, this is stated on the menu. However, it doesn't say it will be 25%. I'm okay with including the gratuity, but a standard 18-20% is more reasonable for an average experience. read more

I was excited to try this place out, but I left very disappointed with the food and service. Service started off slow, even though there were only 3-4 tables in use at the time. We ordered our drinks and about 5-10 minutes later another waiter came and asked if our drink order was taken. We watched as he went and found our drinks sitting on the bar. I order baked mac and cheese and sweet potato casserole (see photos) as sides for my Chilean sea bass. I wanted to try Chilean sea bass, and it wasnt bad, as I do not have much to compare to. However the sides were like Kraft mac and cheese and just a sweet potato cut in half with almonds on it. Not a casserole at all. And the mac and cheese tasted like generic brand boxed mac and cheese. Drinks were overpriced as well. We ordered a Moscow mule... $11 or $12. We went and got 2 from. Altana for that price and they were much better. Overall, a very disappointed experience. read more
