(Warning - unpopular and contrarian review ahead) Let me be honest, I was drawn to coming here just based on the name alone. But that aside, while the menu looks very appealing, what's the point if you can't actually deliver on it? I rumble in about an 90 minutes after opening on a Sunday. No one in the store front. Music and what sounded like some sporting event blaring from the back. I place my order and pay on the touch screen then hover around waiting for the food. Maybe three or four minutes later, a guy comes out from the back and says that they have no crab cakes that day and he doesn't know why it's still on the screen to order. If I want crab, I can do the cream of crab soup or the garlic butter crab fries just no crab cakes. Whatever. Audible on going with shrimp and grits. Maybe 10ish minutes later he comes out and with the shrimp and grits along with an on the house order of the soup and an on the house order of the crab fries. He said he would also have spotted me a dessert but they were out of all three of the choices. Soup - Not at all like the website picture. It looked and tasted like the grits with a small crab ball/cake in the middle of the cup. Oh, and it was stone cold. Fries - Decent sized portion but while the fries were lukewarm, the crab was again, stone cold. Shrimp and Grits - The grits were nuclear hot and took a while to cool down enough to try. Very good flavor and the portion was ludicrously large. I asked for the five shrimp to be steamed but he recommend fried so I went that way. Again, large portion and the shrimp were definitely seasoned aggressively. The kind of aggressive that is still in your mouth a few hours later or until you eat/drink something with a strong opposing flavor to cleanse your palate. I get it, it was only one visit and that makes for a very small sample size but either way, what happened is still what happened. Multiple menu items not available and even though I didn't pay for it, multiple menu items served cold when they're not supposed to be served hot. Not the worst stuff ever, but I'm also not going to rush back either.

Crabcake and gouda and crab grits... flipping awesome

We stopped in on Sunday...and while quiet, people we coming in and getting take out the entire time we were there. There is a bit of an automated ordering process but don't let that throw you... this is incredible fare and you won't regret stopping in.

The food here is always so yummy! And honestly I think it's super affordable especially for the portions you get. The ambiance is relaxing, and the service is always quick and friendly.

Hot diggity dog ! I travel for work and eat so many places but when I see Harrisburg pop up in my schedule I get excited like a little school boy! Not because it's 12 degrees but because I know I am gonna get some of the best grits that ever hit my tongue ! It's doesn't stop there those huge shrimp and white fish!! Y'all are making some darn great food there and I am a repeat customer !!

Finally!! A good seafood place downtown. The cheesy grits were soooo good, the green onion on top and seasonings were perfect. The only thing was some of the grits were clumping up, made it look like chunky mashed potatoes. The fish batter is delicate, not greasy at all! Be ready to place your order on the pad at the front counter, it took us a min to figure out where to put the credit card - this place is cashless! Unfortunately there wasn't anyone around to help but someone did come out eventually. The music was playing loud so it was hard to hear inside. The slushies were delicious, and since you pour your own you can mix flavors. Price-wise it's a little bit higher than other places downtown but you're paying for quality flavor and seafood. I definitely want to try the garlic butter seafood fries next time!

When the waitress finally arrived, she mentioned she was the only one working and implied that the slow service would continue throughout the evening. Thankfully, my husband quickly looked up another local spot, and that's when we found Captain Krab Cajun Seafood & Boil--what a blessing! Not only did we enjoy incredible food and exceptional service, but both the server and the owner went above and beyond to make our daughter's birthday truly special. We were treated to fresh, delicious seafood, a sparkler candle dessert, a plush gift for the birthday girl, and even a light-up birthday sign! We felt like part of their family. We ordered oysters, clam chowder, boiled eggs, baby clams, and snow crab legs--everything was perfectly cooked and packed with flavor. You can even customize your meal by choosing from four different seasonings and five levels of spiciness, which makes it ideal for families or groups with mixed tastes. One of the most fun parts? You can write on the walls, tables, and even the ceiling! They also have a claw machine for the kids (and kids at heart). We'll absolutely be back next time we're in town! P.S. It's BYOB!

He placed me on hold and verified crabs was on site and order will be fulfilled. I was advised that for Crabs only cash is accepted. Cool. I arrived by 5:57pm. I was told to hold on a few minutes because my food wasn't ready. Cool. After waiting 5minutes the guy working there then calls me back inside to say "AINT NO MORE". I said excuse me....no more crabs? "Yea no more crabs" He couldn't care less which was even more pathetic because that's not how you treat a paying 1st time customer! He then says well I have snows for you. I ORDERED BLUES AND YOU DIDN'T EVEN HAVE THE DECENCY TO CALL ME BACK TO SAY IM SORRY WE RAN OUT! He then goes to tell me "I called her and she told me we had 6 but it was sitting there for someone else's order" I am absolutely flabbergasted. It's a shame because I am loyal to my people especially if it tastes good. To have me drive then give me some BS about not having them then ready to hand off someone else's order.....NEVER AGAIN! I've passed Watershed Pub a million times and never stopped, so when I met a friend for lunch, it…read morefinally felt like the right time to check it out. Naturally, I had already done my due diligence (read: stalked the menu for a full week) and had a game plan. At the top of my list? The deviled eggs and the Kale Caesar salad with salmon. The only problem...I absolutely did not need $40 worth of food for lunch. So I quietly spent the week putting "deviled egg energy" out into the Universe, hoping my lunch partner would suggest splitting them. Manifestation is real, people. I arrived around 12pm and found plenty of parking out back in Watershed's designated lot, which is clearly labeled--a good thing, because parking in that area looks like it could get competitive if you're not paying attention. We had made a 12:15pm reservation (Monday lunch felt safe, but why risk it?), and our table on the enclosed patio was ready when we arrived. It was the perfect setup--sunny and bright, but still warm enough to be comfortable on a chilly day. The vibe was great, and our server was even better--friendly, attentive, and consistently checking in without being overbearing. Then it was time to order. I let my lunch partner go first and waited... "Do you want to try the deviled eggs as an appetizer?" Are you kidding me?!. YES. Yes, I did! We ordered the deviled eggs ($11) to share, and I followed through with my Kale Caesar salad ($15) topped with seared salmon (+$13), officially completing my week-long menu-stalking mission. The deviled eggs came out FAST, and in my excitement, I completely forgot to take a picture--which tells you everything you need to know. Each egg was topped with a cube of candied bacon that absolutely stole the show. Sweet, savory, and just the right texture to complement the creamy filling. We made quick work of all four--excellent start to the meal! Not long after, our lunches arrived, and my salad? Gorgeous. Like, actually exciting to look at. I dug in immediately and it delivered. The mix of shaved brussels sprouts, kale, and romaine gave it great texture, the dressing was well-balanced, and the red onion didn't overpower the rest of the flavors. But my favorite part? The garlic parmesan crouton crumble. No chasing rogue croutons around the plate--just perfectly distributed crunch in every bite. Genius! The portion size was generous, too--I made it through about half before calling it and boxing the rest for dinner later. By the time we were wrapping up, the enclosed patio had filled up significantly, which tells me this is a popular lunch spot--and for good reason. The food is solid, the atmosphere is great, and the service was spot on. That said...$40 for deviled eggs, a salad and water is a bit steep for an everyday lunch. For me, this feels more like a "treat yourself," client meeting, or special occasion kind of place rather than a regular rotation spot. Would I come back? Absolutely. Would I be casually popping in every week? Probably not. But those deviled eggs? Totally worth manifesting!

They…read moredid a great job with heaters outside and retracting canopy blinds to make the outdoor space work in large swaths of the year. The main challenge: the food on two orders was a real miss. The review for the Greek salad was that it was one of the worst tasting Greek salads my brother has ever had, despite the attempt at some flare with phyllo on top. My second salad was equally uninspired. We didn't bother with anything else admittedly so perhaps their salad game is just very very weak, or a bad day in the kitchen. Hard to say; but wouldn't be bothering with their food again compared to hunting around.

This place had been on my radar for a while, but when I recently learned that Grappling Crab Shack…read morewas serving Crab Stuffed Deviled Eggs, there was no longer any point in delaying the inevitable. A crabby dinner needed to happen...immediately! I recruited an adventure buddy and we made plans to meet at Grappling Crab Shack's creekside home base on a rainy Saturday evening. We arrived around 5pm, about an hour before closing, and thanks to the rain, we had the place almost entirely to ourselves! If you've never been, Grappling Crab Shack is a local family-owned business specializing in fresh Maryland blue crabs, gourmet crab cakes, seasonal seafood specialties, catering and a food truck that travels throughout the area. It's one of those hidden gems that feels like you've stumbled onto a local secret. Since it was our first visit, we decided to do what any reasonable seafood lovers would do....order basically everything! First up were the Crab Stuffed Deviled Eggs ($18 for six). Holy. Cow! These were TREMENDOUS! The filling was loaded with crab, each egg was topped with a little bit of bacon and they disappeared from the plate embarrassingly fast. If you visit Grappling Crab Shack and don't order these, I genuinely think you're making a mistake! Next came the Cajun Jambalaya ($10) with chicken, smoked sausage, tomatoes, trinity vegetables and Cajun spices. This was excellent. Smoky, flavorful, and carrying just enough heat to let you know it was Cajun without setting your face on fire. My adventure buddy never once reached for hot sauce, which says a lot! Then came the Cheesy Crab Bites ($15). These might actually be my favorite surprise of the evening. Homemade crab cake mix blended with mozzarella, cream cheese and garlic, rolled in panko and Old Bay, fried until golden and served with a house remoulade. I'd choose these over mozzarella sticks every single day of the week! The cheese pulls were absolutely glorious, and the remoulade added the perfect tangy finish. Finally, we tackled the Gourmet Crab Cake ($17). This thing was HUGE! Made with fresh Maryland blue crab, it was beautifully seasoned, perfectly cooked, and held together much better than several crab cakes I've had recently. I'm actually glad we skipped ordering it as a sandwich because the crab cake itself deserved to be the star of the show. Our total came to right around $60, and considering how much food we ordered, plus the leftovers we both brought home, I thought it was money well spent. We grabbed one of the covered tables out back overlooking the yard and listening to the creek rush by. Despite the rain, it was a really relaxing place to enjoy dinner. I can only imagine how nice it is on a sunny summer evening. The staff couldn't have been kinder, bringing everything out to us with smiles and making us feel right at home. This place is an absolute hidden gem and one of my favorite seafood spots to have checked out in the last few months! I'll definitely be back, preferably on a dry evening when I can fully enjoy the creekside setting. If you love crab, seafood, or just supporting awesome local businesses, don't sleep on Grappling Crab Shack. And whatever you do...order the deviled eggs!
