We came here for my annual birthday dinner and to check out their new location. The new location is definitely reminiscent of the old location with a lot of the same decor and color palette. The food is still very good, but I must admit it was kind of an off night for the staff in service. As much as it pains me to say my normal order was a little off as well. I really couldn't put my finger on it, but it was like the lasagna was dry or chewy. It was still delicious with the meat sauce and my husband enjoyed his Bulgogi mac & cheese. I've resurrected my Yelp account just for this restaurant. This restaurant is a neighborhood joint that is serving FRESHLY made pasta for less than $20 each. For the pappardelle ragu (usually made with oxtail but short rib for tonight), chunks of tender short rib in the dishes paired perfectly with the fresh thin sheets of pappardelle. For the squid ink pasta, it's in a creamy sauce with succulent shrimp. This is a no frills restaurant that has a to-go counter on one side and seating area in the other room with nice service. My dining experiences here have been so exceptional that I've often found myself in a blissful food coma afterward. It's a unique feeling that's hard to describe, but it's something you'll understand once you've dined here. I cannot understate how good the food is here. Everything is made from scratch and tastes like it's from your Nona's kitchen. I love Italian wedding soup, and this is the best! Do not try to compare it to that stuff from that "OG" place because their soup is water with a few ingredients compared to this. What should really be raved about is their Crabmeat and Shrim Mac. The seafood tastes like it was caught minutes before they started prepping this dish; the pasta is the spotlight of every meal here, thus the name and the cheese! After all these years we still love it here. Pasta made on site is always fresh and delicious. Stuffed mushrooms are always piping hot and davoon. Heck even the bread is delicious!! Tried a sausage mushroom dish which was a special and it was soo good! Had tiramisu for dessert and loved it too. It's like coming home. Of note Carla is always wonderful and lovely. The service was erratic and almost hostile. For some reason, it was decided that our table was not worthy of service just because we didn't know what we wanted the second we sat down. Was it because I'm engaged to a fine Black man? Not sure what happened, but we had a reservation. And we tip amazing, so unsure why the other tables levels of service were so much higher than ours. The server went to the table behind ours and next to ours countless times before ever checking in with us. We found the food delicious, but maybe we got lucky with our order. I thought the ambience there sucked big time. The lighting is harsh, the furniture is modern, angular, and uncomfortable. The server that waited on us also was very loud clearing tables. So loud that it overpowered our conversation. The man on a date at the next table over winced. This was done at multiple tables over a period of time . I don't understand what this place is trying to be, but it's a fail. Don't think I would return and never would I recommend it. Do better. Train your staff. It's not quirky and fun, it's harsh and jarring. And overpowers the delicious food to leave a bad taste in your customer's mouth. read more

It was our first time here. Service was okay, not great. I decided to be adventurous and had the squid ink pasta, and loved it. I was worried it would be fishy or have an odd taste, but it didn't at all. One of our major disappointments was that they didn't have the oxtail ragu. That was the dish many at our table were planning on ordering. The sausage pasta was fine, just felt like something we could make at home, with the exception of the homeade noodles. We all agreed we wouldn't get that again, but made that choice on a whim when we learned they were out of the oxtail. We loved the bulgogi chicken Mac. A very small dining area, got a little crowded on a Friday at lunch. Very noisy too. Beautiful live flowers in the front window but over all a simple decor, could use a touch of something more as it screams of a "takeout" business. Needs just a touch more modern flare to make it welcoming. The food we all had in our group was excellent! Very nice salad especially. Spaghetti & meatballs delicious, if you like the thinner homemade style sauce (I prefer the thicker sauce but this was flavorful). The waitress seemed stressed, but once we expressed some kind words and joked, she seemed to lightened up. All food came out in a very timely manner, except one person's who for some reason got his salad and then meal a little later (we actually had to ask for his salad, but it came soon after reminding the waitress). I work close by and was looking for lunch from somewhere I haven't been before. I called to place a take-out order and was greeted by a very nice girl on the other end. I was told 25 minutes and my order was ready for me a little ahead of time when I got there. Just in case, I grabbed a handful of menus. They would either go in the trash or I would hand them out to the other foodies at work. The atmosphere was warm and inviting. I was greeted as soon as I walked in, even by the cook in the back, and the mellow sound of crooner music was quite relaxing. I'll be back for a sit-down lunch sometime soon. The aroma emanating from the bag, on my walk back to my office, was intoxicating. Once back at my desk, I unbagged and sampled my order. The Crab and Shrimp Mac was exactly as described in the menu. There was plenty of cheese, large shrimp and crab meat. I will definitely get order it again! The Lasagna with Meat Sauce was stacked high and the sauce was like none I've ever had before. To sum it up, I will tell my co-workers, friends, and family about this hidden little gem of a restaurant. My family and I came in for dinner. Our server was very young, perhaps very overwhelmed. After an hour and no food, we asked a server nearby. There was absolutely no communication. We finally walked out of the restaurant, my husband tried to pay for his drink, the staff looked perplexed, lost. I do not blame our young server, but please train your staff. We are patient, tip extremely well and all of us have worked or still work in the service industry. If you have good communication skills, people will come back and support your business. When I worked downtown, I had heard a lot about this little pasta restaurant that opened walking distance from my office. As the days went by, I heard more and more. All of the reviews were good. Everyone liked it. I couldn't fathom a pasta restaurant generating all this praise. Seriously. Pasta? Central PA has a whole bunch of "Italian" restaurants that serve watery pasta doused with bland tomato sauce and topped with parmesan cheese the shook out of a plastic container. I fought the desire to eat at "that pasta place". I finally gave in after a few months. My husband and I walked over, the place was half full, and we grabbed a table. The menu is interesting and combines some interesting dishes with some tried and true standards. Suffice it to say, my first visit wasn't the last visit. These people know how to cook. First of all, splurge on a San Pellegrino. I recommend the blood orange. If you order one of the rich pasta dishes (which you should) you're going to love the counter balance from a sparkly, citrusy soda. If you are mega hungry, and have the space, start with the stuffed mushrooms. It's a small but rich dish. If you like stuffed mushrooms, you're going to like this version. If you're not mega hungry, well . . . find someone to share it with you. I think you get three large mushrooms. If you want a side salad with your pasta, I recommend the Caesar. The house salad is also good. You can also get an entrée sized salad but I suggest you save that for your second visit. The first time you really need to try the pasta. I mean, hey, it's in the name. There are several pasta options but these are my favorites: Pappardelle with oxtail ragu. It's one of the more expensive options, but it's fabulous. So is the squid ink fettuccini with shrimp. I really like the Bucatini All' Amatriciana. However, if you want something different, opt for the chicken bulgogi mac and cheese. It's a funky fusion dish that's creamy and sweet and not like anything you've had before - unless you've had this dish. There are other pasta dishes and I've heard about most of them - all good. If you still have any space, you can relax with a nice espresso after dinner. Every so often I hear someone not like something, but it's rare and I often attribute it to an off night. Service is decent. Parking can be a pain. Space is small. Definitely worth a try when you're in town. read more

Food is amazing an a staple if you like pasta and live in the area. We can walk to pastorante so me and my partner eat here probably once a week. They make the pasta themselves. Great options, and decent selections with specials. You can sit outside or sit inside. Sometimes during peak hours service has been slow so do take that into consideration and just plan accordingly. This is the first restaurant I've eaten at in Harrisburg PA. I was here during the lunch hour. They have many lunch specials which comes with bread and salad. I ordered the black pasta with shrimp which is not on the special. But seems like it's the most ordered dish on yelp. The black pasta tasted good and they do give you a lot of shrimp. I'll highly recommend trying it. Service wise, they only have one waitress and one cook ordering and making food for everyone. So there is a long long wait for everything. One side of the eating area felt like a cafeteria, while the other side appeared rather hip - with modern bar stools and high tables. I was tempted to try the Chicken Bulgogi Mac, but heck, I was in a Italian place why go for a Korean spin? On the other hand, spaghetti and meat balls are just too ordinary where I could make it myself at home. So I took middle of the road and ordered Sweet Sausage Mac. It came with my choice of salad, the Caesar Salad, which was excellent. Cold, crisp, and flavorful - and the Parmesan cheese was amazing! The bread was great too! I couldn't have enough of it. The entree itself was piping hot, but was rather salty for my taste. Maybe that's why I had to have so much bread :) Anyway, That's the only minus for the visit. Service was excellent.
