Today marks our second time here we're up here because of getting test done at a local doctors office. This place doesn't look like much from the outside but it's much bigger inside and the food has always been great! Heather has been our server both times and we think she's awesome very friendly, fast and knowledgeable of everything they have on the menu. The food is always good and very yummy. We definitely recommend this place to everyone. Ps. Try the "up dog" a little small but very yummy too. read more

The other reviews really capture the essence of the place. (1) Friendly peeps. (2) It's a diner!! (3) They make the things.

Stopped in for Lunch! Ordered an Avacado Roast Turkey Club Wrap & Fries The wife ordered the Tuna Noodle Casserole. We actually sat in a booth near the counter more of a diner ambiance. Always great friendly service and great food! read more

It I could rate this O stars, I would. The food isn't even that good, I would totally rather go somewhereere else where the food is good. The service is terrible, you need to wait sooooo long. Also, what is up with them never checking if we need anything after we get our food? Do they just ASSUME everything is fine? What if things are undercooked??? The ambiance isn't even good. Their tables are dirty, disgusting, and that can give you a hint that it's NOT clean!!! Like come on, put some effort into this restaurant. Definitely NOT a place that I recommend. read more

We stopped in here for a late lunch and had great service. We decided to try a chicken quesadilla as an appetizer and it did not disappoint!! It was huge, loaded with crispy chicken and cheese, and came with salsa and sour cream. So good. Then we got breakfast for lunch - I had the biscuits and gravy with home fries and over easy eggs. It was delicious. My husband had the French toast, which was on thick bread and cooked to perfection. He also tried an omelette which was equally delicious. Prices were great. Inside is a bit dated, but wouldn't stop us from coming back. Can't wait to try the full breakfast menu and other things from the lunch menu!! read more

Seriously good breakfast. Attentive service. Manager even came by to ask how everything was with our meal which is rare for a diner in my experience. Would definitely return. read more

Good breakfast. Great service. I'd recommend this place for sure. Servers are the best part. I've been there 3 or 4 times and haven't had bad service yet. read more

I haven't been in the Summit Family Restaurant in awhile. Stopped in today for a quick breakfast at the counter, and the staff here is super friendly. The Classic Eggs Benedict breakfast I had was excellent. read more

Came here to meet a high school friend and her family who I hadn't seen in 12 years. She works across the street, was a frequently customer of Summit Family Restaurant, and knew I liked hot dogs. The choice was simple. I'd certainly call this a diner. Lots and lots of food options, counter seating, quick service. I appreciate our server being patient as we were too busy catching up to even review the menu. It took a few visits before we had focused enough to order. The wall by the cashier says "King of Hotdogs!" so that made my order an easy one. I got a hot dog with chili, cole slaw, and mustard and an order of onion rings. The hot dog was good, nice bite and flavor. Chili and slaw blended well together on top. Wish the bun had been toasted, but it's ok. It was soft and fresh. Onion rings were done well. Good breading that stayed on the ring. I ended my night with a slice of Boston Creme Pie. Just as it should be: soft cake layers, creamy pudding, and thin chocolate on top. Two thumbs up. The owner came by and spoke with us for a bit. He was extremely kind. Summit Family Restaurant is worth a stop for good food and great service. read more

Service and food was great. Bathrooms were clean and this place was family friendly .

I love the Summit. I eat there for breakfast about once a week. Plenty of seating. The food is fresh and hot. The coffee is perfect. The good thing is the staff is very professional and attentive. They are fine people. I am getting hungry thinking about their eggs and scrapple right now. I am grateful for a good place like this. They are the real thing. read more

The food here is good for what you pay for. Service was above average. The place was clean. Food was hot and and cooked to order. I been here before. The food has good enough that I m not afraid to try different menu items. read more

This restaurant is one of Harrisburg's hidden gems that has everything you want in a restaurant without any pretense. It's just a great place to sit down and have a tasty meal; where you can get in and out quickly without any hassle; and where you won't spend a whole lot of money. While the place is not fancy in any way, it is meticulously clean. I'm talking 'toothbrushes in the crevices', 'eat off the floor' clean - EVERYTHING, even the knick-knacks on the shelves. The food is excellent middle-of-the-road diner fare, nothing very-highly seasoned or outrageously fancy. Some of my favorites are the chili, gyro, chef salad, greek salad, club sandwich, spinach pie, and baklava. Amy G. has a point about the hot dogs, they're not bad, but they're certainly not the best thing on their menu so I don't really understand why they market them so heavily. The service is always great and the prices are very affordable. Highly recommended. read more

Thoroughly disappointed. Used to love eating breakfast here and now I'm wondering, what happened??? Ordered an omelette and it came out with no cheese (yes, it did call for cheddar cheese). Asked for a side of bacon, came out nearly raw (I used to come here because they were the only place that made crispy bacon perfectly!!!). my friend ordered some creamed chipped beef, and it tasted more like flour and had way too much corn starch, or something, in it...it was a gloppy, foul-tasting mess. And despite barely any customers when we got there, it took almost 30 minutes before the waitress realized my coffee cup was empty. I will not be coming back read more

Great stop for breakfast for us! We had left a street fair in nearby New Cumberland and had been referred to Summit by a family member so we stopped in. The service was friendly and prompt and the coffee refills frequent (an absolute must for our breakfast outings). I swear the food was served in like a fast-food style - it arrived not even five minutes after ordering at the table and it was delicious. We enjoyed it and the price was just right. We will likely return. read more

I was in Camp Hill on a errand, and decided to turn to Yelp for help on where to eat lunch . This place was spot on. We almost passed it, it doesn't look like much on the outside , but from the moment we walked in I knew it was going to be a good choice. Very, VERY clean environment . A super sweet attentive waitress. She checked on us a lot. Now the food... the patty melt I ordered was awesome . But the soup... beef barley...Omg! I brought some home it was that good.. $11 for lunch, drink, and take home soup. What a deal. You must try this place if your in the area. I know when I come back again, I will! Thanks fellow YELPERS for the excellent suggestion! read more

Want diner food? Want good food? Want great service? Go to Summit. I lived two miles away for 7 years before I finally showed up and gave this place a shot. What a waste of 7 years. I'm usually in there at least once a week now and haven't left unhappy yet. They have a nice rotation on specials. The place is a bit dated and showing some wear, but the quality makes up for it. This restaurant has toothpicks. read more

Love this place! We love going Sunday mornings. The waitresses are so nice and genuine. It has the normal diner decor and atmosphere but without the regulars staring you down and making you feel unwelcome. The food is normal Greek diner food that tastes fresh and hot. The food comes out so fast it's amazing! Great food for a bargain!! I recommend stopping by for an outstanding omelette or a juicy burger! read more

This is basic diner food that serves consistently good food in a friendly atmosphere. My favorite is their bluberry pancakes stuffed with lots of berries. You can get breakfast for 3.00 in the morning very quickly. On your way out pick up a baklava for a treat. Yum! read more

The chili cheese hot dog was underwhelming. I know they're not very sexy to start with . . . but the minced onions on top were old and bitter tasting and they just ruined it for me. The order of fries was small for the price and the amount of gravy on top was disappointing. If I want gravy fries, I want gravy on most of the fries - not just in the middle. Daughter had the grilled chicken wrap and she said it was "better than nothing". Hubby had the smothered chicken special. He ordered sliced peaches and mashed potatoes on the side. The sliced peaches were canned and the mashed potatoes were fine. The smothered chicken rates an "ok". He said it needed something like BBQ sauce to round it out. read more

Great place for a good breakfast! There pancakes are awesome! Very Friendly! read more

We just had the displeasure of eating at this restaurant. It was not the food or wait staff that was the problem. It was the owner/manager. He spoke so disrespectfully to an employee within ear shot of where we were seated. He was confrontational with this employee, to the point that we thought it was going to come to blows. Then we were going to leave, my spouse wanted to get a desert to go. Mind you, the waitress had been stocking the desert display case and had left the door open, this goon, told her she had to ask for someone to get her a desert. Mind you, we had sat there and watch 3 people go in the case and get there own. We have eaten at The Summit in Lewisberry, Pa. and never had this type of atmosphere. The hot dog was good, but not worth this managers childish temper tantrums. Needless to say we will never be back there. Going to Lewisberry!!!! read more

My husband and I decided to try this diner for breakfast. First impression was good, nice and clean. But that is all the good I can say about the restaurant. Our waitress was very inattentive, chatting with the other waitress about all kinds of personal things. She was right in the area we were seated so she could see us clearly, but we had to flag her down to refill our coffee. She also was lounging in another customers booth. Too busy checking her cell phone and drinking her own beverage to provide any customer service. Ours meals were just OK, the hash browns were a pile of burnt potatoes. We will not return. read more

Tried to have a solo lunch the other day. Waited 12 minutes without even water or a menu. At least four waitpersons were available -- all just ignoring me. FAIL. read more

Sunday morning was easy & quick to get in. The place is VERY clean. Portions are hearty, prices are reasonable. Our waitress Victoria was very nice & came around often enough. I ordered the Eggs Benedict--delicious & perfectly made! My husband ordered the Country breakfast, it was a huge serving & he said it was good. The coffee was always fresh & hot. Hope we can make it again before we have to leave town. read more

Came in for breakfast this morning with my 2yr old daughter. Found a table by the window and sat down. The waitress came over with a menu and asked what I wanted to drink within a few minutes of us being there. I was really in the mood for french toast so I ordered the shirt stack with scrambled eggs and hash browns. My daughter had the pancake and scrambled eggs. The meal came quick which I liked. The meal was good but the only thing was that the french toast was a little to burnt for me but I ate it anyways. The place was neat and clean and the staff was nice. read more

Driven by a million times and never stopped because I didn't know my husband was interested. Today he mentioned he'd like to try it because it's always got a lot of cars in the parking lot. We weren't disappointed! Friendly staff, clean, great prices, and the food is like you'd make or your mom would make at home! We'll definitely be back! read more

We had a great dinner here and an even better tapioca pudding. The people are very nice. Also reasonably priced.

This diner is fantastic. Their breakfasts are divine -- the food is tasty, fresh, and well-priced -- and probably the best thing about the place. They also have fantastic hot dogs, from what I recall from going there many times over the years. Service is always friendly and attentive, and the portions are great - you never leave hungry! read more

Excellent food, very nice and accommodating staff and management could not be nicer. It has a very nice family comfortable feel, and as I said the food is excellent. I love the hot dogs "Coney Island" style. Everything else I have had is great too. Gyros and Greek salads, stir fry, soups. I can't say enough good things!
