    Eggs benedict with scrapple.
    George L.

First time there. Was a little skeptical but thought we would give it a try. Was not crowded ate around noon. The service was amazing. The food was even better. Very short wait time in our food. I had eggs benedict with scrapple and the blueberry pancakes. Excellent. My partner had the steak and eggs and the steak was seasoned perfectly. Very nice surprise. Hope they do well.

Two eggs, scrapple and tater tots.

Rolled into Mechanicsburg Breakfast & Pizzeria at the extremely conventional breakfast hour…read moreof...5pm on a Friday. I was the only diner in the place, which honestly made me feel like I had just rented out a private pizza studio. Bonus: plenty of free parking right out front because it's tucked into a little strip mall. Before I even ordered, the menu caught my attention--an eclectic mashup of pizza and tacos, with breakfast versions of both served all day long. It's honestly the kind of menu you'd expect to stumble upon in a dream where the universe says, "Go ahead, choose joy." I originally planned to be "responsible" and just grab a slice to test the waters, but they didn't have any slices ready and would've had to make an entire pizza just for me. That felt like a sign from the Universe to stop lying to myself. If they were firing up the oven anyway, why not go big? So I took the cosmic hint and ordered their semi-Instagram-famous Mexican Breakfast Pizza: eggs, chorizo, mozzarella, cheddar... a 10" "personal" pizza (their wording, not mine) for $14. Twist my arm. Drinks live in the cooler by the door and you just grab whatever you want and pay at the end. As I was mid-debate between soda and water, the guy behind the counter popped out from behind the curtain and said, "Hey, since you're getting a breakfast pizza, if you want juice... orange, cranberry, apple... you can have it!" Sir. Apple juice is basically the secret key to my heart. SOLD. He also mentioned they have games and coloring books available--apparently dominoes is the crowd favorite here. Unexpected and charming. A little sign on my table caught my eye: "If you love it, leave a nice review." Challenge accepted. This place was already earning every star. Placed my order at 5:02, snagged a seat by the window to watch the sunset fade and the traffic chaos whirl by. The sign on the wall said "GOOD vibes, GREAT flavors," and let me tell you: an accurate mission statement. At 5:20, my pizza emerged in all its glory--and it. was. stunning. The crust hit that sweet middle ground between thin and deep dish: sturdy, doughy, beautifully crisped on the edges, and wonderfully yeasty. The eggs-to-cheese ratio was perfection, and the chorizo? A knockout. Spicy, chunky, far more personality than the usual breakfast-pizza sausage situation. I ate 1.5 slices and boxed up the rest, which will easily feed me for another three days because, yes, I believe in leftovers as a lifestyle. As I was leaving, the man behind the counter introduced himself--Sebastian--and he had been nothing but attentive, kind, and genuinely invested in making sure I had a great experience. Service like that sticks with you. Total damage: $22.26 including tip. For great food, even better service, and days of leftovers? That's what I call winning. I'll definitely be back--probably at another totally normal breakfast hour.

Order at the counter and your food is brought out promptly. The owner made sure everything was good and kept asking if I needed anything. Making customers feel important is, well, important, so I'm glad they aim to please. Pizza slice was really good, could've been a bit more well done, but that's my preference. The birria quesadilla and (thick) consommé were out of this world excellent. Can't wait to come back and have that again and try some other dishes. All day breakfast is cool and a nice option to have in this area. Try this place and see for yourself.

Staff were also on top of things as they brought out drink refills before we needed them. My Wife got the stuffed French toast and she said it was delicious. The French toast was cooked really well and it was loaded a lot of cream cheese and fruit. When I asked my Wife if anything in particular stood out, she said it tasted like it was home made. I went with the baked oatmeal, which had coconut flakes, raisins, cinnamon, and had slices of banana and strawberries. I thought it was pretty tasty, but there are bottles of syrup on each table and drizzling some over it really hit the spot for me. This is definitely a spot that we'd go back to, especially since the is sizable. The menu offered a lot of other options, including crepes, and I feel confident that their other items would also be good.

We were checked on frequently as we perused the menu, which was appreciated. Once we put in our order, we had a bit of a wait for the food to come out, even though it wasn't super busy inside, which was fine. We received the food on piping hot plates, and everything looked great. I had shrimp tacos and was surprised they weren't served in the traditional taco holder, as I'd seen in photos from reviews. They were served flat on the hot plate. All the ingredients and sauces on the tacos made the corn tortilla shell soggy, to the point where I couldn't pick up any of my three tacos at all and had to eat them with a fork and knife. Each taco had 2 grilled shrimp, which were delicious, but they really need to be plated differently or served as a double tortilla shell so you can actually eat them. It came with a side of black beans/pico, which I was SO excited about, but my side dish of beans was mostly juice and maybe only 3 forkfuls of actual beans. You're only given a fork and a knife in your silverware, so I couldn't even try to make the best of it. I would've asked for a spoon, but our server didn't check on us for refills or anything once the food was dropped off. I will say - my husband got the steak and egg bowl and it was DELICIOUS. The steak was so tender and juicy and perfectly cooked, as were the potatoes. I do think it was a smaller portion for the price, but we both loved his dish. I'd definitely come back for that. He finished eating before me because I was struggling to eat tacos with a fork, but we still waited a while after we finished to get a small box and our check. Overall, we'd maybe come back, but it seems hit-or-miss based on what you order and who your server is. One drink and two entrees were $50, so we'd likely choose another spot before stopping here again.

The café has a warm, inviting atmosphere with beautiful local artwork that creates a relaxing dining experience. The breakfast sandwich was fresh, flavorful, and reasonably priced. The frittata was hearty, satisfying, and generously portioned. While it was just a little heavier on the pepper than I personally prefer, it was still very enjoyable. The highlight of our visit was the gluten-free, vegan strawberry matcha cinnamon roll. It was incredibly moist, delicious, and packed with flavor--one of the best gluten-free pastries we've had. It's refreshing to find a café that offers healthy options without sacrificing taste. If you're traveling through central Pennsylvania or simply live in the area, this is a wonderful alternative to the chain restaurants that dominate the highways. Whether you're looking for gluten-free, vegan, or just fresh, wholesome food, Down to Earth Café delivers. We highly recommend this café and will definitely make it a stop on future trips through the area.

Woke up early, got there around 8am to a half empty restaurant and still had to wait 15 minutes for a table to be cleared off. No big deal but another couple came in after us and they were seated right away by another waitress. Finally got seated and waited another 20 minutes before we went to the hostess and asked where our server was. She sent someone right over. Ordered sticky buns, cold brew coconut coffee. smores coffee, chicken and waffles and one of the hash skillets. Sticky buns came out after another long wait and still no coffee. After seeing several people around us get their orders we checked in again up front and the barista had our drinks sitting there, apologizing that the server should've brought them to the table. Get back to our table with our drinks and the food finally showed up. Overall the food itself was alright. Not bad, not great. We again had to flag down our server to get the bill and just paid cash so we wouldnt have to wait AGAIN for our card to ring out. The place was still had empty tables as we were leaving but a huge crowd outside around 9:30 am with wait times ranging from 40 min to an hour. Needless to say they need to hire more staff or improve communication. For the prices they charged and lack of service we wont be back.

Naturally, I had already done my due diligence (read: stalked the menu for a full week) and had a game plan. At the top of my list? The deviled eggs and the Kale Caesar salad with salmon. The only problem...I absolutely did not need $40 worth of food for lunch. So I quietly spent the week putting "deviled egg energy" out into the Universe, hoping my lunch partner would suggest splitting them. Manifestation is real, people. I arrived around 12pm and found plenty of parking out back in Watershed's designated lot, which is clearly labeled--a good thing, because parking in that area looks like it could get competitive if you're not paying attention. We had made a 12:15pm reservation (Monday lunch felt safe, but why risk it?), and our table on the enclosed patio was ready when we arrived. It was the perfect setup--sunny and bright, but still warm enough to be comfortable on a chilly day. The vibe was great, and our server was even better--friendly, attentive, and consistently checking in without being overbearing. Then it was time to order. I let my lunch partner go first and waited... "Do you want to try the deviled eggs as an appetizer?" Are you kidding me?!. YES. Yes, I did! We ordered the deviled eggs ($11) to share, and I followed through with my Kale Caesar salad ($15) topped with seared salmon (+$13), officially completing my week-long menu-stalking mission. The deviled eggs came out FAST, and in my excitement, I completely forgot to take a picture--which tells you everything you need to know. Each egg was topped with a cube of candied bacon that absolutely stole the show. Sweet, savory, and just the right texture to complement the creamy filling. We made quick work of all four--excellent start to the meal! Not long after, our lunches arrived, and my salad? Gorgeous. Like, actually exciting to look at. I dug in immediately and it delivered. The mix of shaved brussels sprouts, kale, and romaine gave it great texture, the dressing was well-balanced, and the red onion didn't overpower the rest of the flavors. But my favorite part? The garlic parmesan crouton crumble. No chasing rogue croutons around the plate--just perfectly distributed crunch in every bite. Genius! The portion size was generous, too--I made it through about half before calling it and boxing the rest for dinner later. By the time we were wrapping up, the enclosed patio had filled up significantly, which tells me this is a popular lunch spot--and for good reason. The food is solid, the atmosphere is great, and the service was spot on. That said...$40 for deviled eggs, a salad and water is a bit steep for an everyday lunch. For me, this feels more like a "treat yourself," client meeting, or special occasion kind of place rather than a regular rotation spot. Would I come back? Absolutely. Would I be casually popping in every week? Probably not. But those deviled eggs? Totally worth manifesting!
