It's been about a year since we were at Thea's so we decided to dine there again for our 10th anniversary. And again, the experience was absolute heaven. AnneMarie actually remembered us from last year and came out to check on us several times. This time I had the veal saltimbocca, the Mrs. had the crab cakes, and the son had the shrimp and pasta. All of these were the best we've ever had. In my humble opinion AnneMarie is the best chef in the world and one of the kindest people on this planet. She had even written a happy anniversary card for us. Our server, Fotini, was excellent as well. Friendly, professional, and took very good care of us. And dessert, gadzooks! AnneMarie put the raspberry cheesecake on a large platter and spelled out Happy Anniversary in the raspberry sauce (see photo). The son and I had the peanut butter oreo pie. All are fantastic. I'd give her ten stars if I could. I cannot recommend Thea enough. If you visit Mechanicsburg you've GOT to dine at Thea. The best food and the best service. We stumbled upon this restaurant and stopped in at the beginning of the dinner hour. Although we didn't have a reservation the staff went out of their way to squeeze us in and treated us like royalty! The dining room was beautifully decorated and would make a great location for a special evening. The service was top notch and the food was amazing!!! I highly recommend the shrimp and crab pasta. It ranks up there with some of the best I've ever had. I don't know the procedure for recommending a restaurant for a Michelin star but this place deserves a look. I believe our server was Emily? She was new and did an amazing job. Attentive when needed. Special for the evening: salmon, with I think butternut squash ravioli with a hazelnut cream sauce and mushrooms. Suppose to have Brussels with it however we found out it was just shavings in the sauce which none of us found any so I received my own side of sprouts. Ohh soo good if you love sprouts! My daughter and I decided to go out for dinner and just order appetizers. We tried the special which was a crab and corn dip. What we liked about this dip that it was not full of melted cheese like other crab dips. You could see the kernels of corn and the large chunks of crab along with some bacon Pieces. It was fresh and delicious! We ordered the Arancini which was flavorful from the inside out. The sauce that came with it was top-notch. We ordered the shrimp tacos, which were our favorite! The sauce was amazing, the herbs and vegetables on top or fresh and we wish we ordered more of those! We decided to pass on dessert and go next-door to get ice cream, but they had a great selection of desserts! We will go back and try some of their fabulous meals. We at outside which wa a nice treat! We came here to celebrate our Anniversary. This was our first time. I made reservations which I recommend. (A group of three were you able to get a table without any) The menu had a lot of good sounding options. We usually get an app and an entree and share but this time we ended up getting four apps. 3 initially and then reordered the steak medallions. Service was pleasant and good. Shea Quinn was singing. The fries were awesome and a large amount for the two of us. The stuffed peppers were good and the steak medallions we loved and ordered twice. I wish we had asked about desserts earlier. They sounded fantastic and we will have to try them next time. There seems to be a decent amount of parking available. This restaurant is BYOB. The burgers and some of the other entrees all sound good. Really enjoyed how everything tasted. If I had one suggestion it would be nice to have some additional sauces for the fries. Like sriracha mayo or spicy ketchup. I asked for mustard or something else and was able to get Tabasco with ketchup. I recommend this place but not just for special occasions. Went to visit our daughter and son-in-law in Pennsylvania and took them to dinner at Thea their favorite restaurant. There were 5 of us. It was on a Saturday so we made a reservation because this place gets busy. Chef AnnMarie stopped at our table to make sure everything was okay. A few of us have food allergies. The Salmon with squash ravioli special was very tasty. The salmon was cooked correctly(not over done), the ravioli were excellent, the kale and pomegranate seeds were a bonus for the squash sauce. I tried their squash soup which had some taste but was at best luke warm. One of our party sent it back. I like this place. Oure server was excellent. I might point out that there were several groups of 6+. For some reason, not none to man, the hostess needed these groups to be squeezed together which made conversation somewhat difficult. read more

So we walked in before 5pm we got lucky and were seated right away! We ordered the COCONUT SHRIMP Hand breaded in house. Served with Mango sauce as our appetizer. The shrimp were large and cooked perfectly the mango sauce is a perfect complement to the coconut breading. My wife ordered the BEET & ARIGULA Salad Arugula, goat cheese, herb crème fraiche, beets, pistachios, polenta croutons and lemon honey vinaigrette. I ordered the SWEET AND SPICY BURGER Pepper jack, bacon, and jalapeño fig jam on a rustic roll. Thea is a great restaurant to go to for a sophisticated night out. They are BYOB and often have live music. It is my go-to restaurant when I am celebrating a special occasion. The waiters and waitresses are attentive and nice. The ambiance is a sultry dark american-italian place. The food is also consistent and delivious. I would recommend their brie brulee, crab dip, blueberry cheesecake, and blackened halibut. The menu does change with the seasons, so I would recommend checking their facebook page for updates to the menu and to see the specials of the day/week! read more

Came here for our anniversary. Food was bland, we got a ny strip and asked for medium rare and got medium. Our waitress was MIA most of the time, then as we got the check she laid her oh is there anything I can get you lol. It was noisy, they had this couple singing in the lobby area of restaurant they were awful and restaurant was loud. They say us by the kitchen, very inconvenient. Ny strip was $62 and not worth it! I wish I captured pictures of every app and everyone's meal but boy was it all delicious. Somehow scored the private room in the back for my friends 29th birthday and boy did we make it special. Felt like we had unlimited apps they just kept coming out and they were all delicious and large portions. I really want to love this place. I have had lunch close to once a month if not twice in 18 months. the service is great. Sarah and the young servers are friendly and helpful. Alex went out of his way to call me and check a table I requested. most days I'd give it a 4 star. The issue is the food. We love the salads. most the time they are great but today and other times , I get old coconut shrimp that has been refried? same with the crispy chicken. sometimes they are fresh but other times they are so tough and hard, Also the rolls they offer, if you ask, don't come up to the standards . Store bought at Giant perhaps? they are served cold and tough each time. its very disappointing. Ann Marie is a good chef, nice menu but not consistent in the servings. sometimes loys of goat cheese , sometimes very little. sometimes Brie balls are warm and fresh, other times not. Calamari was very tender & generous portion, just bit too greasy w/oil pooling beneath it. Duroc pork chop was thick, tender & juicy w/grilled peaches w/sweet & tangy sauce, wilted kale topping--perfection. Green beans, however, were undercooked & frankly overgrown & sadly only option w/o upcharge for veg. Salmon was tender, but could've use a bit more seasoning, or a sauce. Spring mix was fresh w/house-made vinaigrette. Dessert was suppose to be a strawberry shortcake; however, it was more like a shortbread/scone--rather crumbly & dry w/only a few strawberries. We visited Thea last Friday and had a nice dinner. I thoroughly enjoyed the mussels and thought we got a really nice sized portion for the price. I ordered the crispy Brie salad with chicken and loved it. The flavors were excellent and the crispy Brie was absolutely delicious. My friend got the shrimp and crab pasta and also really enjoyed it. I really wanted this to be a five star experience but there were a few things that were less than ideal. First the parking situation. The lot is very small for the number of businesses utilizing it. This is not Theas fault but it is something to be aware of if you come to eat. My husband had one mussel that was grainy was was disappointing. He was really looking forward to his burger as was his friend. Unfortunately, both burgers were dry despite being ordered medium. The burgers seemed to be cooked as ordered with some pink in the middle but overall the dryness was disappointing for both of them. To be honest, we've had better burgers at Red Robin. Not worth the price here Our waitress was excellent stopping by to refill our waters frequently and checking in to see if we needed anything. We will probably be back but will be hesitant to order burgers again read more

Wow, what a cute restaurant! The interior was very clean and new - it sort of felt like a new house. High ceilings, nice furniture - the aesthetics are there. As for the real part you're here - the food. The food was amazing. I ordered the crab cakes - which were really yummy. I couldn't finish both, they were huge. A person in my party ordered the seafood pasta dish and she loved it. I had a bite and it was very good. Lots of seafood in every creamy pasta bite. A little note on the restaurant's name "Thea" - it's named after one of the chefs and a part owner. It means aunt in Greek. She shared this info with us when she came out to talk about the food. Incredibly sweet woman and she really tied together the entire experience. I'd highly recommend this place to anyone who wants a great dinner in the Harrisburg area. read more

I eat here often, both lunch and dinner, and I don't even live in the neighborhood. The food is always good. The prices are definitely high for many of the dinners but there are also items you can order that are less expensive; salads, handhelds and yummy appetizers. Either way, you can't lose. I had a late lunch here with a friend on Saturday. We arrived at an awkward time where it wasn't quite lunch time and not yet dinner time either, so we didn't end up having to wait to be seated at all. My friend ordered the spicy chicken sandwich with a side salad and I went with the blackened chicken Caesar salad with polenta croutons. I ordered the house-made lemonade as my drink. My friend also ordered the truffle fries as appetizer for us to split. The fries were amazing. My salad was huge and was not that great. The chicken seemed to be a bit over cooked and I didn't think it was seasoned that well. I also was not a huge of fan of the polenta croutons. The total for my meal came to about $30. I think I will try something else on the menu next time because I know this place is quite popular. read more
