The server was very friendly although when I asked if the fish was fresh. She was like I dont know and bolted faster then the flash. I ordered the fish and chips. Neither the potatoes or the fish was seasoned at all. Both were bland and the fish watery. My husband ordered the asian shrimp tacos. He said overall tasted good due to the sauce. My parents and I came here for lunch on Father's Day. The restaurant was very busy, but they were prepared. The restaurant is beautiful. It's decorated in kind of like a restored barn/cabin motif. There is plenty of seating inside and outside on their covered patio. Our server was friendly and efficient. We placed our order, and the food came out almost unbelievably quick. We have eaten at Spruce four or five times and we will return 40 or 50 more times! The decor, atmosphere and vibe are wonderful! Each area has its own feel so you can choose a different location in the restaurant each time you go and enjoy a different experience each time. I love the feel of the Scarborough room because of the Stone work from the original building. The bar is big and beautiful and open and we love that area. I just ate for the first time out on the patio and it was wonderful. You really can't even hear route 30 at all. And the upstairs loft space is so gorgeous and Will be perfect for events! The food has exceeded all of our expectations. Everything we had was exceptional. The calamari is delicious, the meatballs and their focaccia bread pairing are so yummy, the seared tuna tartar is probably my favorite appetizer! The truffle Taleggio Crema pizza is over the top amazing! The Sourdough crust is perfect on all of their pizzas. My favorite Entrées are the Short Rib Pappardelle, Beef & Bleu and the Chicken Souvlaki. The Baklava Fried Ice Cream and the Greek Orange Tart are not-to-be-missed desserts. This place is great! Beautiful inside and the staff was wonderful as well. The tuna app was good but the tuna was kinda brown in the middle. Perhaps they marinate it and that's why. Would still like it to more red/pink. Wife got the Greek salad and she loved it. I had the fish and chips. It was very good but I wish they just had normal fries/chips instead of the baby potatoes. This was my first visit here and I really enjoyed the atmosphere. The restaurant is beautiful and each area feels almost as if it is its own separate restaurant. There are tons of seating, accommodating for all, even when the parking lot looks full as you drive by. In regards to food and service, it felt like they were still working through some "new opening" issues. The short rib dish was delicious but was missing the carrots that were listed on the menu. I ordered a side of squash and was told it would be right up after the main entrees were dropped off, but it still hadn't arrived after the entire party finished their meals. The server said it was probably in the kitchen and she could bring it, but this also explained why the entrees were lukewarm when they arrived. Overall, the dishes were good, though plating could have been more consistent and cleaner. Servers, runners, and bussers were all very friendly, and as attentive as possible for a busy weekend dinner service. read more

I have been here twice now both times it was very noisy. But it is a very pretty well decorated place. The outdoor bar would be a great place to hang out when they have it up and running but they will definitely have to do something about the smell. I don't know if it is coming from the water treatment facility or the river or both, but both times I was there I did not enjoy my brief time outside. Also it is not located in the best part of York. The hotels nearby are less than favorable. But everything I ordered was yummy. read more

For a $80 dinner for two(which included a hamburger) this place was a letdown. The crab cake was more mushy than broiled looking, but the vegetables were just as mushy. Place looks great but the food was average at best. You can do a lot better! read more

Just getting started here and this place is beautiful! Kitchen was closing when we popped in to take a look and everything looks amazing. Jared was very prompt and worked quickly to get the bar cleared from the last guest and got a few samples for us and our final selection. Wow! We've been waiting for this restaurant to open & it did not disappoint! 6 of us gathered for a birthday dinner. Everyone enjoyed the meals & desserts. After dinner we went upstairs to listen to the live piano music. The guy played a lot of current music. We had a few drinks from the upstairs bar & chatted while listening to the piano. After many years of watching this restaurant come to completion and finally open, we were very disappointed in the quality of the food. The atmosphere is nice and I understand there will be opening/growing pains. Will possibly try again. I would much more prefer having little higher prices and get better quality salmon & filet mignon. Honestly, the quality of the fish and meat is better at Longhorn.
