When he says we're going to the Great American Saloon

Came for the food, stayed for the spontaneous transformation. One minute I'm just trying to enjoy a night out, the next minute the atmosphere has me channeling my inner Animorph and morphing directly into the taxidermy on the wall. 5 stars for excellent drinks, great service, and an environment so wild it literally changes you.

Our first time here and everything was absolutely excellent. I got the Grilled Wild Salmon and my husband got the quesadilla. Both were the best we ever had. Our waitress, Ashley S. was delightful. We can't wait to come back

The Penna Rustica shrimp and chicken in a parmesan creamy sauce over penna pasta was amazing. My wife says they have the best ribs. The boom boom shrimp appetizer was very very good, you could order it as a meal!

Loved the look and feel of this place. Staff were very nice. Food was really good but very pricey. Portions were small for the price you pay. $26 dollars for a small salmon on top of a small dollop of potatoes and corn puree, with about 5 pieces of asparagus on top.

Burger already begun and mashed by my hand.

A ramped up lions pride with more seafood. Its good most of the time. Kinda pricey. Think of it as lions pride with more upper crust

I took my Grandmother to Wyndridge Farm for her 92nd birthday lunch. I hadn't been here in years…read morebut it's largely unchanged. The grounds are really beautiful and would definitely make a good place to host a wedding or other big event. They make their own cider and beer and their menu features a few gluten free options including GF buns and GF pizza crust with other GF options clearly marked. We ordered the brussel sprouts and buffalo wings to share and my grandma and I split a white pizza on cauliflower crust. The brussels were good but nothing life changing - I do think if they cut them in half they'd have turned out more crispy and less mushy. The buffalo wings were slathered in a delicious sauce and very good. The white pizza was just OK. We asked for chicken to be added but they forgot. The crust was thin but not very crispy. I caught a glimpse of their regular pizzas which looked delicious if you are able to tolerate gluten. I also had the Wyn-mosa, their take on a mimosa. It came with their citrus cider mixed in and it was a really nice combination. They even put a candle in our dessert for my grandma, after I secretly requested it. The food is nothing super memorable but it's a good option if you're in the area.

Another wonderful experience!…read more They now have a big tent covering their whole outdoor patio, so we can sit outside rain or shine, which is wonderful. Hubby and I both enjoyed pulled pork sandwiches and the chocolate/white chocolate mousse for dessert was amazing.

Every staff member we have interacted with have all been professional & friendly. The restaurant has warm inviting decor & we love the bar area. Lots of great choices on the menu & wonderful daily specials. We love this restaurant so much that we hosted a baby shower may of 2026 in one of their upstairs private rooms. The event planner was great to work. She had wonderful suggestions on menu & set up. We chose a brunch buffet & added some of their appetizers & fresh fruit. We had rave reviews from all who attended on the venue, staff & food. We will continue to dine here and would highly recommend the space upstairs for private events. Ample parking - but one suggestion is make a reservation, as they are always busy

We made reservations as we know it gets rather busy. Reservations are highly suggested for Friday / Saturday nights. Large parking area outback the whole is packed full, which is generally a good sign in a restaurant. We arrived and we're promptly seated and our waiter arrived to take our drink order shortly thereafter. I had a desert bloom and Bestie had a sangria, rum punch concoction. Desert bloom was delicious. Nice change for a margarita. For apps, I had the French onion soup, which was absolutely delicious perfectly caramelized, onions, nice baguette plenty of cheese. Topped with a crispy onion broth was flavorful. She had the burrata which was a meal in it of itself came in a large salad plate with dressed leaves and strawberries, and a side of crusty bread. For means I got the cioppino and she had the angel hair with shrimp. The cioppino came with a wonderful large slice of grilled bread with an Uni butter, which was absolutely delicious. The broth of that stew was absolutely AMAZING. So rich and flavorful I could've died on that alone. It was full of seafood..... crab, claws, shrimp mussels, fish it was more than enough for two meals. Crab claws were great. The one thing I didn't like. I expected crab claws, and even muscles in the shell. But the tails on the shrimp is frustrating for me, in any dish like that, but I survived lol. Bestie was smarter than me and asked if the shrimp and her dish came with tails on, they did. She then asked if they would remove the tails which the waiter said yes they would so she requested and they obliged. Even though we were stuffed, we want to try some dessert. She had the dark side of the moon cake, and I had the Greek Panna cotta. Both were absolutely delicious. The cake was rich chocolatey just everything you would expect from an overindulge dessert. The Panna cotta was absolutely the perfect ending to the meal. It was covered with a sour cherries and small almond cookies - wonderful, flavor profile - worked so well together. Service was friendly. Price point was amazing. My meal with a drink before tip was $58. For the quality and amount of food I had and considering the giant bowl of seafood stew it was a great value. First post is on our regular rotation for Friday night dinners I haven't tried their brunch. But if you haven't tried The First Post and are looking for something not necessarily upscale, but also not of the Chili's Applebee's vein, consider giving them a try out in East York.

Service started off slow, which was strange because it wasn't that busy. Luckily the service improved once the server came over to our table. I don't remember his name, but he was very nice. I started with a Paloma. I loved the Tajin on the rim. It was very good and refreshing. My friend ordered the Dutch Crab Pretzel Dip as an appetizer. I don't love shellfish, but I did try a bite and it was really good! The pretzel was so soft and buttery. I had the Fish and Chips and they were good. The seasoned fries were tasty, especially with the tartar sauce. It also came with a small cup of coleslaw which I liked. My friend had the Shrimp Salad and opted for the New England Butter Toasted Roll. The portions were generous and we ended up taking the rest of our food to go. Our server brought out fresh tartar sauce to take home which was greatly appreciated.

Five Stars -- It's the People Who Make the Difference!…read more First and foremost, let me put my cards on the table. I'm a regular at Barrett's on the Pike, so perhaps I'm a little biased. But when you frequent a restaurant three or four times a week, I think you've earned the right to have a pretty informed opinion about what makes it special. Let's start with the food. I've never walked out of Barrett's disappointed with a meal. The food is consistently good, the menu continues to evolve, and there's always something worth coming back for. But let's face it, good food can be found at a lot of restaurants. What separates a good restaurant from a great one is the people. And that's where Barrett's truly shines. People like Rachel, who I genuinely believe is one of the best bartenders and servers around. Then you have wonderful servers like Savannah, Sophie, and Sasha, and even the welcoming faces at the front desk, like Callie. These individuals, along with the entire team, bring something to the table that simply cannot be taught in a training manual. They're professional, personable, welcoming, and genuinely endearing. They remember you, make you feel appreciated, and create an atmosphere where you're not just another customer walking through the door. For me, that's what true hospitality is all about. I don't go to Barrett's three or four times a week simply because I'm hungry. I go for the atmosphere, the conversations, the laughter, the familiar faces, and the feeling that I'm somewhere people genuinely care about the experience they're providing. And that doesn't happen by accident. It happens because of the people who show up every day and make it happen. Great food will get someone through the door. Great people will keep them coming back. And that's exactly why I keep coming back to Barrett's on the Pike.
