Overly salted soup. Mediocre food, and nothing looks clean. Staff was indifferent. I normally give places 2 tries, but I will not go back for a 2nd try. read more

Wether it's breakfast, lunch, or dinner, this place never disappoints. The bacon egg and cheese bagels are delicious, and the cheeseburger and French fries are amazing, along with their crispy onion rings. The service is always phenomenal, and the food comes out quick. The inside is very nice and nostalgic, and is an overall enjoyable experience when dining in. read more

They make a great Greek salad!!! The menu is huge, it's hard to make a decision, but I always seem to get the salad read more

I haven't had much of their dinner menu since I'm not a fan of broiled seafood, but the paninis are great! I would be interested in trying some of their other items like the salads, melts, and a couple entrees, but not gotten around to it because the breakfast is the best here, and all day! The breakfast combo is my go to all the time; it's a great deal and soooo much food! Hot cakes OR French toast, 2 eggs any way, 2 slices of bacon, and 2 sausage links. My friends have liked their omelettes too, although I haven't tried any of them. Check their Facebook before you go - they often post their daily specials, and update hours if they are short staffed that day so you can make sure it's open. read more

J&B's Grill - Takeout order of the breakfast combo - yes, this is all one meal! - New American Near Me - Shrewsbury, Pennsylvania

What a cute local spot. I'm new to the area and passed it almost everyday, so I had to try it. Their menu was very diverse, something for everyone. And our waitress was super sweet!! We will be back for sure! read more

Went here on a whim, as we were looking for a late lunch on a Saturday and we wanted to support a local business. I wasn't sure where to park so I parked on the street out front, but then later learned there is a small lot behind back. Worst case, you can turn down the back alley and pass the parking lot to park back behind the fire station potentially? Regardless, the inside is country kitsch, and it's a little bit worn around the edges, but our waitress was ruthlessly efficient and polite, portion sizes were huge, our drinks were constantly refilled, and the food was delicious. We were really blown away. We did not expect this at all. But it's high quality food, which you don't always expect in a small town or a locally owned restaurant like this. We are looking forward to returning, as well as taking other family members. read more

Don't judge a book by its cover. Note that parking and entrance is in the back. Had a good grilled cheese and they had a wide variety of options for everybody. PA's version of a NY diner menu. Good place for picky eaters! read more

Everything I've had so far has been great, I take my out of town friends and family there!!

Good food, great prices, and fast service! The fries were amazing. All-in-all a cute little hole in the wall. I'll most likely be back!

Very fast service and big selection of entrees, and a generous all day breakfast menu. Pretty decent prices as it only cost $21 for two meals both with large drinks. The parking lot isn't the best, but it's better than street parking. Went on a Saturday morning and the restaurant was about half filled, but wasn't noisey at all. It took awhile for her to finally collect our money, but other than that the service was good. read more

Thought we'd give J&B's Grill a chance for lunch on a Tuesday around noon. As suspected, it wasn't very busy and we were seated immediately. Before we begin: First, the parking is limited. There is some parking in a rear lot and some street parking. It could be a problem on a weekend, so be prepared. Secondly, and this has no affect on the overall rating, the exterior landscaping needs some serious attention. The unkept flowerbeds could make some folks (like me) turn around and leave. My opinion is that everything should be in tip top shape - inside and out. But I wanted to give this place a try based on Yelp reviews and I didn't plan on eating amongst the landscaping. The dining area is small and a bit worn, but the folks were nice and I'm not going to judge until it's time to judge. The menu is extensive and the best part - breakfast is served all day. My mom ordered an omelet and she said it was good. I ordered a cheeseburger sub. It came with fries and a small side of coleslaw, but again, it was good. It could have used a little more meat, but not a deal breaker. My wife got some sort of chicken/cheese sub and remarked about how delicious the chicken was - juicy and tender. Service was prompt and it's obvious this is a small time family-owned diner, which is perfect for Shrewsbury. You feel like you're eating at home- comfortable. They'll do what they can to accommodate. Don't come here if you're an uptight foodie looking for avocado toast - ain't their thang. Visit J&B's if you want good food served in your aunt's kitchen. You're in Shrewsbury folks, not Philly, so lighten up and enjoy. read more

A wonderful place for lunch. The food was delicious, with generous portions and very reasonable prices. Service was excellent.

Went for the crab cake but the crab meat mixture wasn't ready so ended up getting a burger. Burger sucked. Might return for the crab cake. I

My daughter and I do our best to support small businesses like this one. We had been wanting to stop in and finally made it happen - food was amazing. Reasonably priced and large serving sizes. She had "the best cheeseburger" while I thoroughly enjoyed an over-sized open-faced Reuben. Loved the quaintness of the atmosphere. Very clean. Staff was super friendly and always checking in to see how we were. Can't wait to return in the very near future. Parking in the gravel lot around back is easier than street parking. read more

Great food. If only they had more tables. Sometime hard to get into at peak hours and the parking can be tricky but don't let that stop you from trying this place. read more

I love the atmosphere of this quaint place. The service is prompt and friendly. Food is right on target. My first visit but not my last. The reason for 4 stars is the parking although I had no issues read more

Food was cold when it came out, my husbands fried chicken was most definitely Banquet chicken, and still frozen on the outside! He also found a hair in his salad..my panini was cold, and the roast beef was flavorless....So sad too some nice the atmosphere was so cute, we honestly hoped it would be a cute place for breakfast with our boys. The last straw was watching the waitress eat a cup o noodles, not even anything from the kitchen..... read more

Three of us went for breakfast this morning and the food was great. Stuffed French toast, cheesesteak omelette, hot cakes, all very good. Coffee was good too. Service was very friendly. Will definitely go back. read more

The prices and portions Are awesome not to be outmatched by the service and time we waited for our breakfast. The cream chipped beef you're the best around. Love their food, prices and kind service. The all day breakfast is delicious and they always have hot, fresh coffee. Their chicken and waffles are my favorite. Overall the best diner food around read more

My family and I have dinner here every Thursday. Everything we have tried has been wonderful and tasty. The cole slaw is freshly made daily. Thursday is usually their crab cake special. So yummy. I tried their honey dipped chicken the other night and it was the best. They give you a half a chicken. Needless to say I had leftovers and it made breakfast the next morning extra special. This is a family owned place and they make you feel like family when you come to enjoy their fabulous food. And they carry my favorite decaf hot tea brand and will make a fresh pot of decaf coffee for our son upon request. They're the best! read more

Everything about this place is amazing! Service is fast, attentive and friendly. Food is more than delicious (make sure to try the crabcakes, they are the best I've ever had) and the restaurant is quaint and clean. You can tell they take pride in their work. We will definitely be back! read more

J&B's Grill - New American Near Me - Shrewsbury, Pennsylvania

My wife and I live nearby but travel so much that we rarely eat out locally. We spent the afternoon at the Amish market looking at furniture (best craftsmanship around) and decided to give J&B's a try. We immediately realized what we've been missing! Large menu with choices for everyone! I settled on the Special Melt, and asked for Swiss instead of mozzarella cheese. Delicious, large portion with wonderful fresh cut fries! My wife ordered the French Dip, which she described as ultimate comfort food. Meal for two was under $20, which is a big plus. Great service! So happy to have this place nearby. If you're from out of town and looking for a meal, this is an excellent choice, especially if you want to avoid the fast food places. We are already planning our return when we have friends in town in a few weeks. Probably bring them here for breakfast! read more

Sorry it to ok me so long to try this place...we were on our way to Panera and decided to give it a go. Excellent food. Homemade comfort foods are their specialty with generous portions and loads of options. Fairly busy for 4:30 on a Sat so I think word is getting out! Will be back to try the crab cales and soup. Breakfast menu looks tasty too read more

J&B's Grill - Really great hot French dip sandwich!! Generous portion at a good price; homemade feel. Definitely will be back to try other offerings - New American Near Me - Shrewsbury, Pennsylvania

Our first visit today, but we'll be back! The service was very good, the restaurant was cute and clean. And the food was very good too! The steak and cheese was big and tasted fresh and delicious. My little one enjoyed his grilled cheese and fries as well. The price was good, lower than I expected. Well worth the trip! We can't wait to come back and try breakfast. :) read more

Good diner style food, subs, sandwiches, salads, plus an all day breakfast. Surprising number of vegetarian options too. There's parking and an entrance out back, but we usually just take a short walk down Main Street there. read more

Service was horrible I ordered a chocolate milkshake and I got vanilla ice cream with chocolate syrup in it and I had to mix it my self. Then whoever the jerk in the kitchen is that is yelling at people if it's the owner might as well shut up shop. You don't do that you need to learn how to talk to people and address the concerns and not yell so everyone can hear you disrespectful! Waitress didn't know how to take orders and didn't know the menu it's not that big to learn so a bit confused. I'm actually surprised it's still open. read more

Great diner food. Huge portions. Friendly staff. Great for breakfast. Tucked amongst the Antique Shop row in Shrewsbury.

Nothing special, a wide variety of starch. Salad mostly iceberg lettuce. Stuffed mushrooms weren't stuffed more like a small button mushroom with a dollop of nondescript crab stuff dumped on top. read more

Went for lunch on a Wednesday. Great atmosphere. Very comfortable and quaint. Service was attentive and pleasant. Huge menu selection. Had trouble deciding between Gyro Panini, Patty Melt, and Crab Cake Sandwich. The owner of the restaurant was circulating through dining room. I asked her what she recommended and she said crab cakes without hesitation. Ordered the broiled crab cake. Wonderful choice. Jumbo lump with little filler and nicely seasoned. Served with hand cut fries and cole slaw. Really enjoyed my lunch. Excellent experience from start to finish. Definitely will be back. read more

Food is basic diner fare, but is always good. We've been here several times for breakfast or lunch. Omelets are good, burgers, chicken tenders, and pancakes are recommended by our family and extended family. Service has been good the few times we've been there. the parking lot is a little small, but you can also park in the big lot behind the firehall which is behind the building. The only negative thing is that the last time we were there (August 2016), the chef was yelling loudly at someone in the kitchen. It made for a rather unpleasant experience, but we hope it was just a fluke that day. We will likely go back, but if we hear yelling again, that will be the end for us. read more

On North Main St. in the old Peppercorn's, the restaurant is nicely decorated and comfortable. The service was attentive and the cook came out to ask for feedback. The menu is extensive, mostly standard pub food out of the freezer and into a deep fryer or from the fridge and assembled for the diner. There was little to suggest that there is much in the way of original cooking going on. However, what we had was well prepared and well presented. Hopefully, with some time there will be some more original cooking. In the meantime, it is the kind of safe, standard restaurant which can be found almost anywhere. read more

This is our favorite breakfast spot. The food is ALWAYS delicious. I usually get the western omelet and my husband gets the sausage gravy with biscuits - so good. Great service and friendly staff. Highly recommend this joint! read more

Found this local restaurant when visiting a nearby antique shop. Lots of options on the menu and breakfast is served all day. My Special Melt (chicken, mushrooms and melted mozzarella) was huge and very tasty. Would definitely make a return trip. read more

The food is alright, but the service was awful. Our waitress was rude and tired, probably from the children she had with her. I find it completely inappropriate to have children at a restaurant. "Family restaurant" or not. The chef was yelling, and the owner seemed to be completely unfazed. I don't know what circus they are performing in there, but I will never go again. The atmosphere was awkward and tense. No one could believe the shouting or the attitude. The food is nothing special, and I am surprised they are still open. read more

Went to this new restaurant which opened up on main street in Shrewsbury and was pleasantly surprised. They offer breakfast all day !!! They had a very extensive menu , the food was prepared well and in reasonable time . Our waitress was very sweet and attentive . One suggestion to the owner: my friend asked for some extras with her breakfast sandwich(egg), one item was tomato and I cant recall the other , she was charged an extra $1.85. In order to get customers to start coming in try not to nickel and dime them. Other than that we will return and as another review said we hope that as opposed to such an extensive menu they will have some more specialized items. read more
