The Stonebridge Grill is a culinary adventure in Parkton, MD that boasts a huge menu that has something for everyone and for all tastes. I could eat here everyday, seriously, it's a jewel hidden behind a liquor store and a modest appearance. And the menu is huge, as a chef and culinarian myself, usually big menus make me a little nervous about execution, but I happen to know some people that highly recommended the place. So I ventured in with some family (age ranged from 18-50s). THE FOOD IS AMAZING. Full stop. Yes, they have a good tap beer selection and great liquor too - did I mention the store - but credit to the bar too, their craft cocktail selection was tasty and refreshing. Back to the food! Pot roast made with the same respect as Beef Bourguignon, with tender flavorful meat balanced, silky smooth potatoes underneath, mouthwatering reduction atop. Shrimp and grits with authentic made grits, not that Quaker boxed stuff, garnished with a zesty coleslaw - absolutely delicious. So many flavors and textures melding together. Wonderful. Fried green tomatoes served with a raisin cream cheese dollop on top, they were incredible. Lamb pops grilled and served to perfection. We tried a crab fried rice that would make any Asian Chef would have blushed over. Whipped feta. OMG, if you don't know about whipped feta, look it up. They happen to have it on the menu, so we had to try that. Marvelous! Absolutely incredible. My nephew did talk much about his seafood risotto, which if a 20-something says nothing while cleaning the plate, I believe that's solid and speaks for itself. I can't wait to go back, I didn't even get to try the burger and I hear that's outstanding too (believe me lots of places and people screw up a burger). Everything here is crafted with respect not only to the ingredients, but to the methods of preparation. Michelin style cooking hidden in comfort foods and explorations across the menu. I came to the Stonebridge Grill today with a group (11) of friends and it was SO DIFFICULT to choose just one item for lunch! So many things looked great! Because the burgers are made with locally sourced beef (it is cattle country in northern Maryland) I chose a burger. I added French fries for an up charge of $2.00. Everyone's lunches looked great and everyone seemed to enjoy their choices. The salads looked fresh. My neighbor's cheesesteak looked super and she liked it. Other neighbors had Maryland crab soup (red version) and they said it was very tasty and had crab in it. A few gals had the half pound of shrimp and I scored one! Large and very good. Seasoned with Old Bay. My burger was excellent. I didn't get any toppings other than lettuce and a slice of tomato. I wanted to taste the beef. And it was delish! Definitely a keeper! And the bun was delicious! Kind of a sweet tasting bread that was toasted just right! My french fries, on the other hand, weren't wonderful. Lots of small pieces that were very oily and unfortunately had lots of black spots inside the fries. I said something to the server and I asked if I could get a fresh batch. The new ones were better and I shared them with the gals and still had some to take home. A fun fact is that there is a liquor/wine/spirits/beer store attached to the restaurant. Got a bottle of Irish Cream to take home! I definitely want to come back to this restaurant. If you're at the Maryland/Pennsylvania border, try this place. You will enjoy it. read more

Visiting from Florida, family knew I liked to try different things - at least once! So they brought us to Stonebridge to try their Ostrich Filet, something I've never had. We were delayed finishing chores at Taking The Lead, their non-profit horse therapy ranch. We arrived at 7:30 and were graciously seated even though they close at 8:00 PM. We were brought waters and tea and ordered, since we had already decided our choices. We started with Crab Dip and Fried Green Tomatoes. Brother-in-law, his wife and my wife all ordered the Slab of Ribs and fries special. One niece and I chose the Ostrich Filet, hers with Sweet Potato fries, mine with Roasted Sour Cream & Chives Potatoes and Butter Braised Green Beans. Farm helper Debbie chose the Firecracker Shrimp. And other niece got, wait for it, cake and ice cream!! Appetizers came quickly. Crab dip was delicious. Fried Green Tomatoes were excellent after I cleared up the sweet relish atop it. I'm a Fried Green Tomatoes purist. After a short wait our meals came. Two people thought the Ribs were good and one that didn't like them. I tried a piece of ribs from my wife. Very soft, fall off the bone but dry and lacking flavor. Debbie loved her Shrimp, which were barely spicy. The Ostrich Filet was very good, more like steak than chicken. But my sides were bleh. Green beans were stiff and tough. Potatoes had very little flavor of sour cream or chives, rather bland. I did enjoy some of my wife's fries. And the niece with the cake and ice cream said it was grrreat! Good food, wonderful ambiance and excellent service by Maura. I read some reviews about crab dip, which I love, so I ordered it and apparently they were out of crab that day because NONE found its way into that dip! You should consider calling it something else because calling it 'crab dip' is misleading! That being said the firecracker shrimp & the shrimp/scallops over risotto were both very good!! This was my first time to the Stonebridge Grill. I got a wonderful cheesesteak that was packed with tender meat, provolone cheese and grilled onions. My friend got the Ruben. He enjoyed it, but I don't want pickled vegetables other than sauerkraut on a Ruben. The service was fair. I think they need more help at lunch and this was no reflection on the waitress. Stopped by before the dinner rush on a Sunday and was pleasantly surprised because I came for a burger but left with a very full belly. Things started out nicely with a shrimp flatbread and a Carmel apple cider crush. Expecting something sweeter than sweet, boy was I surprised to find a mellow drink that was tasty and a great combo with the flatbread. The waitress, though slammed with other tables, answered questions and so we ordered the house specialty, pot roast, and another fall-like item chicken and sausage gumbo. The pot roast is a local favorite for a reason! Very savory and decently portioned, you felt like you had a meal and enjoyed while it disappeared. I bet whoever washes the dishes prefers this dish because I'm sure the plates get returned with very little reminder that there was food on it. The gumbo was also very tasty and the description of hot andouille sausage was not far off the mark. The sausage was indeed very, very spicy. Both dishes were hits which meant dessert was on the horizon. The bread pudding special was served as slices and was, well, bread puddingesque. There was a pistachio sorbet which was intriguing because pistachio is nothing I connect with a tart sorbet. A ball of it arrived that was coated in pistachio crumbs, which was a fun presentation and inside was a mild tasting pistachio ice cream. It was a nice ending to a spicy meal and I was internally assured that pistachios are very hard to elevate into an in-your-face flavor bomb. Always drive out of our way to go eat here. Such fresh food and fantastic menu choices. This menu has had some thought and talent put into it. Very creative desserts as well. We have been a handful of times and have never had anything that wasn't delicious. Well worth the stop. You will be very satisfied and will return again. A favorite is the pulled pork burger... get an extra side of queso for your fries. Great bar area separate from the dining area. Both areas well appointed and comfortable. Food was good, service was lacking at best. We waited for 15 minutes after seating ourselves before we had a server with menus, and silverware. We waited another 15 minutes to take our order. We ordered a burger and fries and their colasol club with chips. Then our server never came back to ask how was everything. We ordered Cocktails, Calamari, Scallops & Pork Belly, BBQ Chicken Flatbread, Chipotle Fried Oysters, Filet, Flat Iron Steak, Smoked Chocolate Brisket, Wedge Salad, Lobster Ravioli, Key Lime Pie, and peach Bread Pudding. I love coming here, while it's not fine dining you can get almost anything from a burger to surf & turf meals. Locally it's one of the nicest places for bringing visitors or a date night if you don't want to travel too far. But you won't be out of place wearing jeans or anything like that, it's still relaxed. I've had quite a few things, the calamari is wonderful! We came with friends and got a second order because the 4 of us ate the first one so fast. I also like the crab dip, flatbread pizza, steamed shrimp, and wedge salad. The open faced pot roast sandwich is pretty good too, but you have to devour it fast before the gravy turns the bread to mush. Had dinner again here on Wednesday night and had their regular dinner menu of scallops and shrimp risotto which the scallops were once again delicious. I made note of their dinner special for two of the tomahawk steak since I saw another table have it and it was gigantic. Will definitely return to try that Wednesday night special in the future. The wings were loaded with buffalo sauce and were very good. What a great restaurant!! I will most definitely be back to try some really unique food and dishes. Leanne was our server and she was excellent, knew the menu, and could truly give us great recommendations. We ordered the fried calamari and crab dip as our appetizers to enjoy over drinks. Both were excellent. The calamari had a kick to it, but very tasty and the crab dip was creamy and delicious with big chunks of crab in it. My cousin and I were both talking about two dishes that we couldn't decide which one to have, so we decided to get both and split them. Leanne said the chef could split both dishes. We got the shrimp and scallop risotto and the pork belly and scallops. OMG, this was a great idea and delicious. The portions were so large, I couldn't have imagined eating a whole portion of the risotto, as the half portion was large enough. It was chocked full of shrimp and scallops and had an amazing taste and flavor. Unfortunately, the chef was a little too liberal with the salt, and the risotto was so very salty, much more so than I would have wanted. The Pork Belly was incredibly tender and not very fatty. Some pork belly I've had in the past was so fatty that you couldn't taste the meat. The potatoes, green beans, and salsa with the scallops and pork belly were so amazingly good. For dessert, I opted for the chocolate lava cake and it was delicious and so incredibly hot that we had to wait for it to cool a bit. Cutting into the cake, the hot chocolate lava flowed out of the middle of it. An amazing meal with excellent service. Highly recommend and I will definitely be back, hopefully soon. read more

We tried this restaurant in North Baltimore County near the Pa line with our son and his girlfriend for a Sunday lunch. There were only four patrons in the Dining Room when we arrived around 11:30 which was discouraging, but it quickly filled up into the afternoon. The main lunch courses were fantastic which were the Maryland Burger, Caesar Chicken Wrap, California Turkey Melt and the Honey Garlic Shrimp. Service was very good too.The service was very good and our waitress did a great job. Atmosphere is cozy, clean and very simple. The green fried tomatoes appetizer was good also but very small for a $10. The only disappointment was the cole slaw. We have had dozens of different cole slaw recipes over the years and this one was not very good. Very rich with an excess of dressing or mayonnaise. Had a very odd flavor. Next time, we we will go with the fries or a side salad. read more
