Second time visit to the Squeaky Rail Diner. Although there was no "greet"... we did get seated within seconds of arrival... Our server arrived to get our drink order before we even had a chance to sit down... Very impressive... When she returned, she took our order... Even though the diner was very busy for a Sunday morning, our breakfast came in a timely manner. I had three eggs (scrambled soft), wheat toast dry, and the home fries... Wife had French Toast and crispy bacon... Everything came still hot; and it tasted very good. Again... most impressive... Additionally, my coffee cup never came close to being empty... The place was clean and appeared to be well maintained... The decor is of a railroad motif... Parking was ample with easy access from the highway... I do HIGHLY RECOMMEND the Squeaky Rail for a visit to get a great breakfast... PS: We have the same breakfast everywhere we go so I can compare "apples to apples"...

Ok. A standard diner experience. Table had country fried steak - large portion and lots of sides. Also had a California Benedict - eggs poached just right but avocado was not ripe enough. Also had Mediterranean wrap with grilled chicken - was ok. Service was good and ambiance is very dated.

First time here, after googling best breakfast in Enola. Glad I didn't see the Yelp score before showing - don't know why it's rated ! I had a great experience! Came in early Friday, place was less than 20% full, multiple staff members greeted me and I got seated immediately. Was greeted promptly, got my drinks quickly, menu felt simple & easy to read, which allowed me to place my order right away. The waitress seemed to know some of the regulars and was casually table-checking. The food was great. Hot, large portion. I'm leaving full. I always check a place's country fried steak as my first thing to try from a new breakfast joint I haven't been to -- I'll have to stop by here again next time I'm in Enola. Quick, friendly service.. hot tasty food that filled me.. for under 20$? Can't beat it. I'll be recommending

I arrived famished for lunch!!! I was told there was a shift change but saw only one other staff member come in. Anyway service was quick and friendly by Shanon. We got a sea and turf platter with steak, stuffed flounder with crap, mash, Cole slaw, crab soup. Also ordered broccoli and cheese stuffed chicken breast with string beans, mash and salad, a cup of crab soup. The steak was well seasoned but not cooked right. It needed to be cooked in higher heat to get the fats browned. The mash needed salt and a bit of butter. The crab soup was better when we added half n half to drown down the salt. A bit of butter would've helped to! The salads where basic just baby mixed greens, grape tomatoes, red onions and a few cucumbers. I asked for oil and vinegar, I got a bit of old vinegar. I wasn't sure if it was old red wine or old balsamic maybe watered down. I looked old or dirty. The oil was a small amount as well. If a customer asks for oil and vinegar and you're going to bring that little caddy don't you think it should be refilled before you bring it to the table? Anyway the flounder stuffed with crab meat was ok. It would've been better if stuffing had a bit of butter and lemon rind in it. The top of flounder was dry and it should've had a butter crumb on top sprinkled with dill and olive oil drizzle. The string beans were fresh out of a can. Low sodium but no other flavor. It could use some garlic powder and cumin. It was like eating at a hospital. The bathrooms need to be cleaned. There's dirt on walls, baby changing table, faucets, cabinets, doors, floors. The chairs in dinning hall look like they have layers and layers of dirt. The blinds all need to be wiped clean some have dried food bits. It was so gross! First and last time I'll come here. Thank goodness our waitress Shannon was great she's the only reason this got two stars!

Let me set the stage.. we walk in and no one even greets us.. waitresses are standing around talking with each other and no one is paying attention to the front. A table busser is standing behind the bar counter eating butter from the little butter packets. This should have been enough to turn right around and leave but we were hungry and heard the food was good.. wrong! The waitress was nice and got our drinks right away.. then we sat.. coffee was mediocre, water was tap and we waited. Food came.. steak was raw, Benedict was over cooked and cold, pancakes had hair in them.. hair!! That's when we were told our bill had been comped and we left. We did tip the waitress as it wasn't her fault.. won't be back

I got the roasted chicken breast that was dry and hardly edible. This was the second time that the food was subpar.

I probably stop in about once a month, and every single time it hits. I can really only speak to the breakfast side of the menu because that's what I always get -- and more specifically, the Mexican breakfast options -- but wow. The breakfast quesadilla is incredible, and recently I started getting the breakfast burrito. Today I got the smothered breakfast burrito and it absolutely did not disappoint. Legitimately as good as any dedicated burrito spot I've been to as it should be given its a Mexican owned and ran establishment. What I love about this place is that it feels real. It's not trying to be trendy or overly polished like a First Watch or something. It has character. It feels warm, handcrafted, and genuinely cared for. The staff feels super tight-knit, and you can tell there's a lot of pride and love behind the place. I love seeing a Mexican-owned and operated diner doing their thing so well, especially one that feels this rooted in the community. They've also been refurbishing parts of the establishment over time, and it just adds to that feeling that people are actively investing themselves into this place. I can't speak for every item on the menu because honestly I keep ordering the same things over and over. but everything I've had has been fantastic. If you want character over class, comfort over trendiness, and genuinely great food, Yankee Doodle provides it in spades. 5 out of 5.

We were seated pretty quickly, the waitress was nice and helpful, and I thought my mini cheeseburgers were good. They tasted like they were made on the grill which is always good. Now to the stuff that wasn't as good from my husband's and my perspective. The fries weren't too bad. The soup that my husband got was a bit odd and more like a cup of gravy with chicken and spinach. It was something like the creamy chicken and spinach soup. It didn't taste too bad but was a really thick consistency which more resembled gravy. My husband did not like his open faced roast beef sandwich. It was extremely dry and didn't taste good. The brown gravy on that was also an odd consistency and didn't help enough to make the roast beef edible. He had to primarily eat the fries and bread. It's a super old school diner. Breakfast may be better.

Joy's Grill & Burger House became a Friday Night Date Night destination during my birthmonth after…read moreI spotted them on social media. I've driven by Joy's a million times and somehow never noticed it before. It's tucked into a busy strip mall and easy to miss if you're not specifically looking for it. Spoiler alert: you should be looking for it. My quest for the evening included both a burger and a chili dog, because they both looked amazing and I wanted the full Joy's experience. My adventure buddy and I arrived around 5pm and I was honestly surprised to see only one other person inside when we walked in. We grabbed a booth by the front door and looked over the menu again to finalize our plan. Since it was our first visit, we decided to order a few things and split them so we could try more. We ordered the loaded chili dog topped with chili, cheese, onions, and mustard ($5.25) and one of the Big Block Burgers -- specifically the Joy's Burger -- which came with grilled onions and mushrooms, lettuce, tomato, LA sauce, Swiss cheese, and fresh cut fries ($12.99). Naturally we added bacon for an extra $0.99 because that felt like the right decision. We also each grabbed a Diet Pepsi (to maintain some illusion of balance) for $2.50 each. Our total came to $25.69 before tip, which felt like a pretty solid deal for a two-person Friday night dinner adventure. The setup at Joy's has a classic old-school diner feel. The grill sits right behind the seating counter so you can watch your food being made, and they mix milkshakes right out front as well. The place is simple and no-frills -- and in my experience, those "keep it simple and do it well" places are often the real heavy hitters. The chili dog came out first, and the first thing I noticed was that this thing was HEAVY. This wasn't your typical skinny hot dog -- it was a full ¼-pound dog absolutely loaded with chili. The flavor reminded me of a Cincinnati-style chili dog and it was really good. The chili was flavorful instead of just decorative, the mustard and onions were balanced perfectly, and the bun did its job without getting in the way. As someone who takes chili dogs very seriously, I have to give Joy's credit for delivering a straightforward, perfectly executed chili dog. Next came the burger and fresh cut fries, and when I say this burger was big, I mean BIG. Two patties tall with all the toppings stacked high. We sliced it in half and immediately dug in. The bacon was perfectly crisp, the mushrooms and Swiss were generous, and the whole thing just tasted like a real, proper burger. Not a chain burger that started life frozen and tastes like it could have been reheated in my microwave at home. This was the kind of burger you picture when you say you're craving a burger. The fries were exactly what you want from fresh-cut fries -- the smaller ones nice and crispy, and the bigger ones crispy on the outside with that soft, fluffy inside. Splitting the chili dog and burger turned out to be the right call. It would have been easy to eat everything solo, but my stomach probably would not have forgiven me later. Our server was super friendly and attentive throughout the visit. While we were there, a few more people came in to eat, but overall it felt relaxed and easy for a Friday evening. Parking is free since Joy's sits in a strip mall, but it can be a little tight because there are several other popular businesses nearby. We were able to find a spot without trouble, but I could see it getting tricky during busier times. If you're looking for solid burgers, legit chili dogs, and an old-school diner vibe, Joy's Grill & Burger House is absolutely worth seeking out -- especially if you're like me and always on the lookout for your next great burger or chili dog adventure.
