I can't believe I'm scoring a chain so high but honestly the past three weeks they deserve it. I only had one "bad" experience and I've eaten here multiple times a week for three weeks as I'm traveling on business. The one poor experience was when I was seated in the bar and I don't know if the waitress decided I wasn't worth her time or she just didn't care or what- she was talking to the table next to me as I was seated and continued for a good ten minutes without moving on to anyone or acknowledging me (I could time by the crossword I was playing). I tried to order a drink at least but you could only get alcoholic ones to start and even then you'd need someone to appear and check your id but I was able to get spinach dip (which has been consistently good) just about the time she finally came to the table. My drink went empty most of the meal and I never got a refill. But the other waiters and waitresses have all been fantastic- super attentive, never an empty tea glass, a box to take my extra home. One even said I couldn't get the baked potatoes without salt so I changed to mashed potatoes- but she literally went and asked the kitchen and surprised me with a nice baked potato that I originally wanted afterwards. Another just had this infectious smile that seemed so genuine. Everyone was just so friendly and helpful. The food has been consistent and good. Good enough to take to the hotel and eat the leftovers. Mostly it's just been staples like chicken strips, broccoli and cheese casserole, and potatoes but all good and filling and when you're away from home that's a luxury. One tad bit of feedback- I hate honey butter but they're so on top of things that they bring that delicious croissant just doused in the stuff. And I know they're doing it to make it such a generous good experience so I don't have the heart to tell them- I'd really like it without if they'd wait to show up with it. But I totally get the thoughtfulness of showing up with croissants in the first visit being a positive experience. I'd also love to be able to order non-alcoholic drinks if it's taking a while like with that one waitress- Olive Garden will do this for you in a pinch don't is possible. I will also say I appreciate the booths are soft and comfortable- they make you want to stay for a dessert or a second drink (I did for the cookie and ice cream once.) Keep up the good work. Don't let me down- I need options when I'm in town several times a year!!! read more

On 05/04/2026 at the York, PA location off of Route 30, I placed a take-out order (check#45404) at the bar (1) full rack ribs and (1) BC Wrapper. The restaurant was fairly busy for a Monday at 1:15PM, so to my surprise my order came out pretty quickly. My order was bagged and tied together, so I cloud not check my order without ripping the entire plastic bag. There were two standard to-go containers inside the bag, NOT the standard long full-length container a full rack is served in when placing a to-go order. I order the full rack of ribs to-go all the time at Cheddars, and they are served in the long full-rack box. When I got home and to my surprise I was given two separate rib halves. Neither were the same size, (both were upper ends), not an entire complete rack of ribs. Looking at the ribs, each upper end was different in size, and each had a different appearance and texture. I tasted each half-rack, and yes hey came from different racks as each had a different taste, dried-out texture, and not even luke-warm to the touch. These ribs were not freshly made that day. I'm positive these rib halves were old ribs, at least a day or more old, and somewhat reheated, barely. I live 2-miles from Cheddar's, I's a straight shot, 5-minute drive at best. The food should not be cold driving that distance. I used to go to Cheddar's all the time, but quit going there about six-plus months ago because the food quality was going downhill, but decided to give it another try, I WAS WRONG... The BC Wrappers were editable, barely warm, but just thrown together, not neatly wrapped and fell apart trying to get one out of the box. In-total I wasted $37.00 on this meal at Cheddar's in York, PA. The ribs were thrown away, and the BC Wrapper was half-eaten. Seriously, the kitchen staff working Monday, May 5, 2026, has NO pride in the quality of food being served out of that kitchen. They should fire them all! Walked in at 9pm and got seated right away. A huge aquarium with colorful fishes greeted us. Sarah took very good care of us. She was awesome and anticipated our needs even before we asked. She brought refills even before asked and we thought that was absolutely great despite her having already a long day. We enjoyed the reasonably priced food here. Got the blackened grilled white fish with sweet baby carrots and coleslaw. Though I white fish was a little salty for me, it was still delicious. read more

Definitely not a fan of franchises, but I really like some Cheddars. We typically stop in after spending the day at Hershey Park and working up an appetite. For such a busy weekend spot, they always manage to seat fairly quickly. I've never been here and received bad service, so that's always been a win. My favorite go to is the chicken fried chicken platter with mashed potatoes and white gravy, broccoli. The place always looks like it's full of locals who add to the laidback atmosphere. read more

Appetizers : Onion rings - could have been cooked a little longer but they were good Spinach dip with tortilla chips - very good Dinner: we all ordered the burger and fries , the burger had no seasoning, the french fries could have been cooked a little longer, so all three of us were disappointed to say the least. The drinks were subpar, light on the alcohol The service was good our waiter was very attentive and friendly. If you decide to sit at the bar, you have an awesome view of a huge fish tank, it is so pretty read more

Very cool spot. I live about 3 hours away so this is the closest one near me sadly. Great music, the decor is nice, place was clean. Staff is also really cool. Got the ribs and tenders combo with fries. Also the Honey Butter Croissants are phenomenal, ordered a second round of those lol. As a NASCAR fan I couldn't help but think about the late Kyle Busch while we were there so I greatly appreciated the tribute photo they had of him on the table kiosk. Will come back again for sure if we're in the area. R.I.P KB #08/18 #rowdyforever read more

My bestie treated me to a Birthday dinner here, which is my favorite restaurant. The service is always excellent and the food is amazing. We started off with an appetizer of homemade queso and bacon french fies. Of course we got the complimentary croissants drizzled with honey butter. For our main meal I ordered the full tack of ribs dinner with mashed potatoes and the broccoli cheese casserole and Kathy ordered the chicken tender meal with broccoli cheese casserole and sweet baby carrots and our drinks were their delicious peach iced tea. It was all so delicious and we will be back for more eats! read more

We sat at the bar and had a lovely dinner. Cheddar's has a menu that offers something for pretty much everyone. The bartender, Anthony, was very affable and provided great service. The food was very good too. Cheddar's is located right off I-83, making it a good option for eats if you're in or passing through York. read more

Love Cheddar's!! When in York for work I recently found out about this place and I had an amazing experience! The amount of food you get for the price is unbeatable! The potato was delicious and the spinach drip appetizer was so flavorful! The to-go process was also super simple and the food was still hot when it was time to eat it. Definitely recommend trying Cheddar's if you are nearby. read more

Stopped in for an early dinner with my daughter after a doctors appointment. The honey butter croissants given to you when you sit down are very good. My daughter got the chicken tenders and fries. She loved her fries but the chicken tenders were just ok. I got a cup of the baked potato soup and new orleans pasta with extra shrimp. The soup was very tasteless, the pasta was good but could have used more seasoning and the extra $4 dollars for the 2 or 3 little extra shrimp wasn't worth it. Our server was very nice but neither one of us were offered refills on our drinks. Better chain restaurant choices are out there. read more

The service was pretty decent considering how busy they were at 1pm on a Saturday, but there were definitely gaps, and the table next to us clearly wasn't happy about it either. But, aside from that, and a pretty awesome croissant and Caesar salad, my steak was horrible. I mean, 6oz, and almost none of it was edible. Terrible cut. There was so much gristle and fat that I couldn't even cut it off because it was basically all there was, and it was medium well, not medium rare. I was "afraid" to take any bites of it. The garlic butter and steak seasoning tasted great, which made the texture's shortcomings all the more disappointing. The loaded baked potato was alright, but something about it wasn't quite my favorite, possibly the butter, which tasted cheap. The grilled shrimp it came with were small but I was happy that there were about 6, good quantity and taste. For the price, $18.50, I should have known better, but now I do and I'll try something different if I come back. read more

Just really decent bar food with a flare. Came on a Friday night with no real expectations. Service was decent, busy at the bar- yet polite. The drinks were ok. Our server, Anthony, made this regular degular food outing so much fun. Our food and drinks came out quick, he anticipated our needs for togo boxes before being asked. This restaurant was fire and an amazing experience. They had this fish tank thingy that was real pretty as well as these fans that were spinning sideways. We were in York for a weekend event and came on a Saturday night and it was packed. We had a very large group so it took 45 min to get our tables even with a reservation (a lot of large groups were there for the weekend event). I got the Texas Sweet Tea and the Key West Chicken & Shrimp with a side of broccoli cheese casserole and fries. The Texas sweet tea was great, and not overall sweet which I liked. My partner got the painkiller and it was good, but on the sweeter side. The Key West Chicken & Shrimp was great. Cooked and flavored well. It's also so well priced here (I'm used to big city prices). Every table gets a round of honey butter croissants and they're delicious. Our waitress was so friendly, accommodating, and attentive despite having to deal with our large group. read more

What went well, what goes well, everything! We first visited this Cheddar's location about a year ago. The food is always consistently delicious. The salads are fresh. The dressings are made in-house and have a great flavor. The service, even at the busiest hours of the day, is second to none. The servers have always been pleasant, professional, and have an in-depth knowledge of the product they are serving. It can be a bit noisy at times. This is after all a family restaurant. There are young children. It goes with the restaurant. You are there to eat, not close a multimillion dollar deal. Enjoy the experience, it's good food! read more

0 Star. The host were extremely rude, unprofessional and dismissive. I visited the restaurant on 8/1/2026 all the way from Baltimore MD. I ordered ribs which came out cold, salty rice and the drink was blah. Cheddars, you fool me once but you won't fool me again. I will not be back. read more

My experience fell below par. My child had the spinach dip and said it was excessively salty. The interior of my chicken pot pie had an overly gooey and unappealing consistency. We tried going here on a Friday night, hour wait so skipped it. We tried a few weeks later on a Saturday night and it was a 20 minute wait (turned out to be less than 10). That's a plus. They brought out croissants which they switched out for ones without the honey butter, no problem. Another plus. We ordered the chicken pot pie, tenders and fries, pork chops, and homemade onion rings. Entrees came out within 15 minutes of appetizer, perfect timing. Probably 2nd best pot pie we've ever had. Pork chops were well portioned, no complaints, same with tenders. Onion rings make outback seem like a joke. And best of all our bill was $50. Are you serious? At any other "chain" this would have been $70+, and we had food to take home. Definitely my favorite American restaurant in York, fun vibes and will be returning read more

Sooooo upon entering the restaurant we are taken to a table to be seated. The server comes over and starts scolding the host right in front of us and we go back to the lobby to sit down. Not even two minutes later we are sat at a table two tables over with the same exact waitress. Oh and shortly after another customer is sat at the same table where we were scolded away from. We sure felt uncomfortable but she apologized and the evening began. May I just ask what the purpose of the giant ceiling fan running when it's 33 degrees outside? We ordered two apps, one with the coupon for joining the club. The queso had a nice flavor but had a skin formed on the top and no meat on it like the picture, but we did get mostly broken tiny bits of tortilla chips from the bottom of the bag. The salsa was good but sure glad we didn't pay for that. The cheese curds were tasty. The entrees were nice overall with a ribs and shrimp combo with tons of fries and a chicken mushroom honey mustard dish. The shrimp were very enjoyable. The server frankly just wasn't interested and didn't come by much. Thankfully she brought us Togo boxes for the leftovers and needed to reach across the table to grab the sugar container while we were packing up our extras. The entire thing was just odd. Why was it a big deal for us to be seated at an empty table and then shuffled to the lobby to then be sat right near the same table by the same server? We drove 25 miles out of the way to eat at Cheddars. The larger table next to us looked like they had great attentive service from what looked like a trainee and trainer. Kinda wish we had been sat at that table instead. Maybe next time . read more

Everything was amazing. Host's, waitress, cooks. Hands down we couldn't figure out what we appreciated more, the amazing food or the friendly hospitality from the staff. I unfortunately don't recall the waitress's name who served us, but she was impeccable. We told her about how where we are from, no one would give us the time of day to have a pleasant conversation about the food and the area and over just in general. We have definitely discussed coming back for an overnight trip just to have a getaway to hang out, grab a bite to eat and not be so far from home. My jaw dropped when I noticed the center fan as you walked in, the entire place just gives off nothing but good vibes. The outside was insanely clean and tidy, just as much as the inside!! We got the delicious croissants to try, country fried chicken, delicious shrimp and we were beyond happy!! To some this may be another chain, but when your time from start to finish is nothing short of awesome...I hope more people are able to come here!! We will be back! read more

Cheddars 11-8-24 Stopped by Cheddars on Friday night about 6:15pm. This is my first time at this place and it's neat, clean, and very well laid out. This place was hopping with people as they were busy. We got a table fast after putting our name on a list. Our waiter Jonathan came over quickly to take drink orders and give us menus. He came back a short time later and gave us our drinks and took our food order. I ordered the Texas T Bone with a side of Mashed Potatoes and a House Salad. My wife ordered the Grilled Salmon, Baked Potato and House Salad. Our friend ordered the Grilled Chicken Alfredo and a Baked Potato Soup. Jonathan brought out some warm Honey Butter warm Crescent Rolls to hold us over till our main food order comes. These warm Crescent rolls were very good. Our salads were delivered shortly after we were done with the rolls. Our salads were served on chilled plates, and they tasted fresh and were good. Our main orders came out about the time we were done with our salads. My Steak looked amazing, and it was done just perfectly but my mashed Potatoes were ice cold. I told Jonathan right away and he stated he would be back with another one. He did come back fast, and the Potatoes were hot this time. (for the life of me I don't know how you mess up a side like that) My wife's Salamon was hot and very good but her baked potato was cold in the center. Maybe next time just add the cold sour cream on the side not inside the Potato We could not find Jonathan so we asked another waiter if he could help us. Jonathan did show up and took her baked potato back and stated a manager would know about it. (no manager ever showed up to talk to us) Our friends Grilled Chicken Alfredo was hot and good. The soup was hot and good, but you think they could give you more than 1 small pack of soup crackers to go with it. This was my first time there and I was not impressed. There are a lot of other places that do not serve cold food and would have made sure a manager would have stopped by to talk to us. BTW nothing was taken off the bill either. I can only give this place 3 out of 5 stars because of two cold served foods and one pack of small crackers for soup, no manager showing up and not finding our waiter. I expected better out of this chain. Follow Me On Fb For More Reviews Gulf Coast Terry read more
