Cheese curds - The image shows a portion of fried cheese curds placed on parchment paper with a printed design. A small cup of white, creamy dipping sauce is positioned next to the cheese curds. The setting appears to be a casual dining environment, possibly at a restaurant or pub, with a granite countertop surface visible in the background.

We sat at the bar and had a lovely dinner. Cheddar's has a menu that offers something for pretty much everyone. The bartender, Anthony, was very affable and provided great service. The food was very good too. Cheddar's is located right off I-83, making it a good option for eats if you're in or passing through York.

Got here at 6:10 pm on a Friday and we were seated within minutes!!! For the first time we were seated along side of the bar. It was very cool as the a/c was hitting us on this hot day. We ordered appetizers, amazing! Ordered our entres also great! Service was good. It slowed down a bit after a large party came in. We enjoyed our time and dinner!

Cheddars is always a solid choice. Normal got to is chicken fingers but this time I went for a 16 ounce ribeye.

My husband found a sticker (literally) in his pasta. The server had his order remade and took it off the bill. Other than that everything was good. Our server was nice and attentive. The salmon and dip were delicious. Our wait was minimal and there was plenty of parking l. The bathrooms were clean and spacious

Our server, Anthony, made this regular degular food outing so much fun. Our food and drinks came out quick, he anticipated our needs for togo boxes before being asked. I enjoyed my steak, but I do wish the butter was melted instead of plopped on there. But flavor of the meat and the shrimp more than made up for it.

This one was easy. The croissants they put on the table are delicious. We devoured them. There is plenty of parking. We walked right in with 13 people on a Sunday and were pretty much seated immediately. Our server was amazing. Honestly, that was better service than I received in most fine dining places. The prices are so cheap and the food is pretty decent for what you pay. What's not the love. Most people I came with had boxes. My meatloaf didn't make it home. Get to cheddars with someone you love and have a good time.

We did a walk in with a large group, and they were very accommodating. We had to sit at several different tables, but they got us in. They have a very expansive menu, so there is something for everyone ! Our server was very friendly and effective and did well with our large group. The only complaint was it was extremely cold inside. Ordering a hot tea and bringing a sweater helped a ton.

This restaurant was fire and an amazing experience. They had this fish tank thingy that was real pretty as well as these fans that were spinning sideways. They brought out these little butter covered pastries to start and they were fire. I got this thing called the spasagna and it was so good! It was like $12 which was great and it was a combination of my two favorite dishes. Lasagna and spaghetti. The waiters kept waters full and brought out food quickly so that was great. Really it was such a cool looking place.

Free appetizer for joining the club

Sooooo upon entering the restaurant we are taken to a table to be seated. The server comes over and starts scolding the host right in front of us and we go back to the lobby to sit down. Not even two minutes later we are sat at a table two tables over with the same exact waitress. Oh and shortly after another customer is sat at the same table where we were scolded away from. We sure felt uncomfortable but she apologized and the evening began. May I just ask what the purpose of the giant ceiling fan running when it's 33 degrees outside? We ordered two apps, one with the coupon for joining the club. The queso had a nice flavor but had a skin formed on the top and no meat on it like the picture, but we did get mostly broken tiny bits of tortilla chips from the bottom of the bag. The salsa was good but sure glad we didn't pay for that. The cheese curds were tasty. The entrees were nice overall with a ribs and shrimp combo with tons of fries and a chicken mushroom honey mustard dish. The shrimp were very enjoyable. The server frankly just wasn't interested and didn't come by much. Thankfully she brought us Togo boxes for the leftovers and needed to reach across the table to grab the sugar container while we were packing up our extras. The entire thing was just odd. Why was it a big deal for us to be seated at an empty table and then shuffled to the lobby to then be sat right near the same table by the same server? We drove 25 miles out of the way to eat at Cheddars. The larger table next to us looked like they had great attentive service from what looked like a trainee and trainer. Kinda wish we had been sat at that table instead. Maybe next time .

Chicken Pot Pie

We tried going here on a Friday night, hour wait so skipped it. We tried a few weeks later on a Saturday night and it was a 20 minute wait (turned out to be less than 10). That's a plus. They brought out croissants which they switched out for ones without the honey butter, no problem. Another plus. We ordered the chicken pot pie, tenders and fries, pork chops, and homemade onion rings. Entrees came out within 15 minutes of appetizer, perfect timing. Probably 2nd best pot pie we've ever had. Pork chops were well portioned, no complaints, same with tenders. Onion rings make outback seem like a joke. And best of all our bill was $50. Are you serious? At any other "chain" this would have been $70+, and we had food to take home. Definitely my favorite American restaurant in York, fun vibes and will be returning

The server did a great job with making sure that our drinks were filled, and we had to go boxes and brought our food out in a timely manner. Some of the appetizer choices were the calamari, fried kale and crab claw lollipops. All three were absolutely outstanding, and the portions were large. For dinner, our choices are rockfish, lobster, mac & cheese, filet mignon, or grilled chicken green curry. Again, the portion sizes were large and everyone enjoyed their meals. We were able to choose from a flourless chocolate torte or cheesecake. I forgot to mention that the Caesar salad was so fresh and the dressing was outstanding. I would like to come back and experience the restaurant and their entire menu. The upstairs had a fun, urban feel with a fireplace and a cool bar. We felt comfortable and it was a fun vibe.

Ever…read moresince they opened in 2016, they've been the gold standard for fresh seafood in downtown York. It's got that elevated "public house" vibe--stylish enough for a date but relaxed enough for a casual weekday hang. The Oyster Happy Hour The absolute best way to experience this place is their Oyster Happy Hour. It's arguably the best deal in town and a total magnet for the after-work crowd. The Deal: Usually running until 6:00 PM, you get "happy hour on the half shell" pricing that makes indulging in a dozen (or two) actually affordable. The Variety: They don't just stick to one house oyster; they typically rotate through boutique selections from the East Coast, so you can really compare the salinity and finishes. The BBQ Shrimp While the raw bar gets a lot of love, you have to try the BBQ Shrimp Skewer. These aren't your average grilled shrimp; they come bacon-wrapped with a perfect glaze and a hit of cheddar. It's smoky, savory, and exactly the kind of rich appetizer you want to pair with a cold craft beer. The Verdict Rockfish has been a cornerstone of George Street for nearly a decade for a reason. Whether you're a seasoned oyster connoisseur or you're just there for the seafood nachos and a smash burger, the quality is consistently top-tier. Pro Tip: It gets crowded fast during that happy hour window, so try to snag a spot at the first-floor bar early!

The pork chop remains the star of the menu--huge, expertly seasoned, and cooked with precision. It's widely considered the best in the city, and honestly might be the best in the state. Juicy, tender, and full of flavor, it's the kind of entrée you end up recommending to friends for weeks. Their octopus is another standout, prepared with surprising delicacy. Tender, not chewy, with a perfect char that adds just the right amount of smokiness. It's balanced, refined, and one of the most memorable small plates you'll find locally. And don't leave without dessert--the crème brûlée is phenomenal. Silky smooth custard under a flawlessly torched sugar crust that cracks just right. Simple, classic, and executed perfectly. Between the inventive dishes and the warm atmosphere, The First Post remains a must-visit for anyone who loves great food done exceptionally well.
