Let me start off by saying the staff was great and friendly. But I was so disappointed in the food. We were given what I assumed was a special list but learned it was a happy hour menu after I tried to order off it. I wasn't able to get the dish I picked, nor a huge deal. We met friends here on Saturday night and had a fantastic experience! The space is open and clean. The staff were friendly and attentive. We ordered cocktails which were spot on! The menu has a nice variety of choices. We could have gone in several directions. The lump crab cake (a family recipe) is unlike anything you will get elsewhere north of MD! The wings are amazing! Their pizzas and tacos sound and looked so yummy...next time! And handmade bac lava for dessert! Parking is free and right there and bonus the restrooms were clean! Let me start by saying the food was below par and the staff was very rude. It took 15 minutes for somebody to even come up to the table. We then proceeded to wait another 8 minutes for a coffee to come to the table. I had to ask for things multiple times and the server was very rude in every interaction. Then we get our food which was cold and my wife's dish had a hair in it. I live within walking distance, so we come here at least once a week. Today we went at about noon, there was one bartender/server covering the bar and about 7 tables, at least 25 customers total. Absolute shitshow. I had to go to the bathroom to get paper towels, because hello? Wings. I don't miss my serving days, but common sense tells you that if you're laying a plate of wings down you better be laying down a stack of napkins. And I know they have wet naps. Since the change to square mile I have become a frequent patron. Great food atmosphere and location which equals a winning local combo! The staff make your feel welcomed! Decor/service: the decor was older and beaten down. The pizza oven wells not working when we were there. The service was fine but she seemed stretched a little thin with to many tables/not enough staff. 2/5 Food: Mozzarella wheels- not the best and not the worst. At least they were not pre-frozen one's. 4/5 Square Mile cheese fries- the pulled pork was the let down. Seemed overly soggy 2/5 Carnitas tacos- again overly soggy pork and the ingredients just didn't mesh well. 2/5 Chicken Caprese- the chicken was the equivalent of what I think a shoe would taste like. Way over cooked. The balsamic was strong and the rice that accompanied it was horrid. It seemed like it was a packaged rice and not even the good kinds. 1/5 Pork BBQ sandwich- was completely different then the pork with the other dishes. This place is awesome.. my husband and I came here for our anniversary dinner. We ordered the spinach dip as we normally do when we go out. This was the best spinach dip we have ever had!! We've been to the Square Mile a few times now, mostly for brunch or just to grab a drink. Tonight we tried dinner and I think brunch is definitely their strong suit. We had two entrees and an appetizer. The house cheese fries were really good, the cheese sauce helps to make the dish. We ordered a cheeseburger sub, which is pretty standard, nothing to really write home about but not terrible either. On the other hand, the veggie tacos were bland with a weird watery curry sauce on top. The veggies were wet and almost seemed as though they were microwave veggies. We only ate one and then ended up splitting the sub. Compared to the food we get during Sunday brunch tonight's experience would not bring us back for food after noon, but definitely for a night cap or two. read more

Server will not let up & just keeps bringing it up ---after we've already moved on ---ffs--- I ask "what's good on the menu?" (change the subject, right?) I'm about to place my order and server won't let it go I'm like "let's just keep bringing this up about the water, I have never heard walking around in public/private with a small bottle of water in your coat pocket is illegal ---in my life. You're simply making stuff up. If I keep it in my jacket, it's fine?" Furthermore I told the disgruntled server TO THROW IT OUT! And last the steak tacos sound great but again. Pieces of meat were not bite sized, and were loaded with fat. Awful cut of meat. And overcooked. The Dang Woody sounds great but it was basically dried out over cooked toast beef with some onion on it. It says cooked to ur liking. Was never asked and came out WELLLLLL Done. Like eating a dusty old shoe. So if you feel like spending money on fat in place of pulled pork, and dried out beef instead of actual thinly sliced pit beef,and would like large pieces of fat in place of steak, and then have to pay for it. Wife and I visited Saturday as we wanted to try a new place with outdoor seating. I ordered the "Dangwoody" which is advertised as a pit beef sandwich and the special appetizer "mexican street corn" the wife got Fish and Chips. The wife's dinner was good, no issues. I asked for my beef to be as rare as they could provide. I received it and it was all well done, instead of thinly sliced beef it was chunks look like they were cut from a roast and with the grain making it very chewy and tough. My first bite had so much gristle that I ended up spitting most of it out as I couldn't chew it. When the bill came we got a big surprise that the two ears of street corn cost $13!!!!! I was expecting 6-8 bucks but $13 when you can buy a dozen ears locally now for $4. read more

I've been to this place a few times now. I keep hoping for a great meal, but it doesn't seem to happen. Today, however, was the worst. I had Eggs Benedict. The meal was so salty it was inedible. I mean, it was like when you are a kid and your brother or sister dumps salt in your food as a joke. I didn't even make it halfway through the meal. Im not a picky eater, and I never stop short of eating a full meal. I've given this place a few tries now, but I don't think I'll be going back. We had such an enjoyable breakfast here a few weeks ago we decided to give them a try for dinner on a weekend when we had our granddaughter. Although they have a separate room away from the bar for diners the atmosphere was totally different and too loud for family dining. The bar area was full of boisterous drinkers, standing and sitting even though it was only 6 pm. We had to walk thru the bar area carrying our granddaughter to get to our seating and definitely felt out of place. Once seated we proceeded to look over the dinner menu. It was very expensive for what was offered. With the addition of a protein a salad ran about $20, more if your protein was seafood. The burgers and sandwich prices were also high, as was the kid's meals. While we pondered the menu and if we were to stay we ordered a kids drink, but ultimately left just paying for the drink, preferring a more family and wallet friendly dining experience. Now that we reviewed the menu I know we won't be returning for lunch or dinner but would come again for their breakfast. On our way out we passed someone on their way in carrying a guitar case. Not sure if they feature live music but it just reinforced that we made the right decision to leave. Not that we're prudes but after a hectic day we didn't want to be in an environment with all that commotion, especially with a toddler in tow. read more
