Went to Pizzeria Luca on a Saturday evening and were seated within 5 minutes. I had the Limoncellito spritz; it was perfectly sweet and tart. For starters, we shared the Salumi Plate and the Mozzarella Fritta, both of which were excellent. I've never eaten something crispier than that fried mozz! We shared the Doppio pizza- it was crispy, piled with cheese, and wonderfully seasoned. For dessert, we tried the indulgent Rococo. Came here after going to Luca and they referred us to come here since they wouldn't be a belt to take walk-in for over an hour despite having many empty seats. The pizza here was pretty good with the crust being chewy. Would recommend the Nonna sauce on the side to dip the crust. We started mozzarella fritte and it was delicious. The burrata was smooth and the olive oil was perfect. Had the spicy sauce on the side and it was very spicy so be aware. We ordered the spicy pizza and funghi pizza. Funghi pizza is very rich so it needs something to cut the richness. Would have preferred a salad to compliment the spicy pizza. Don't sleep on Pizzeria Luca! We came here for dinner and it was really great good! Liked it so much that we wanted to go back but we were leaving town in 2 days! The wait wasn't so bad midweek. Maybe 15-20 mins on a Monday night. The space is beautiful with lots of windows and beautiful decor. Clean bathroom to boot! You have the option of placing your order with a wait person or using the QR code. It's great to have options! We ordered a Negroni that was perfectly made! We shared a Cinque Verde salad that was perfectly tossed with white balsamic vinaigrette. All 3 pizzas were perfectly made! Very creative toppings, all harmonizing great flavors together. We decided to give Pizzeria Luca another shot, about a year since our last visit. We were pleasantly surprised at how much better this experience was! You now have the option of either ordering on the QR code OR having the wait staff take your order. This is a huge improvement over the QR-only system they first had in place. The service was a little slow, but it was prime time dinner on a Friday, so I won't hold that against them. They had a great selection of cocktails, wine, and beer. The St. Boniface sour they have was excellent! The food was a huge turnaround from our last visit. Yes, the prices are still steep. Which is the main reason for subtracting a star. But the quality has much improved since their first opening. I still don't think the pizza is as delicious as it was at James St. But it is still a great pie. Loved the options to order dipping sauces as well! We did not order a salad, but the ones that we saw coming out of the kitchen looked sooo good. I'm glad we decided to give it another shot. I had seen videos for pizzeria Luca many times and was super excited to visit this establishment. Let's just say over all I don't think I would visit again. Although, the entire staff were extremely friendly and attentive... It really just comes down to the money you're spending. You aren't able to get slices of pizza so you must always get your own personal pizza. which are decently sized and pretty tasty just nothing overly out of this world. The fact that I got one cocktail and a pizza and with tip it was almost $50.00. You could easily go somewhere else get plenty more drinks and just more variety. Every time we order at Luca, we get the Piccante with added homemade sausage for a protein boost, the Sandro (holy shit the pistachio crema combo is delish), and the chopped salad. Their pizza is amazing and their GF is pretty damn good as well. They have something for everyone here including vegan options. Chill vibes and good drinks too. We drive from Harrisburg to Lancaster frequently for it. Wish they'd open another place in the burg. Nevertheless, I appreciate the craftsmanship that goes into all things that Luca does. I came here today for the first time and was greeted by one of the servers after a couple of minutes. The inside appears clean and fresh. They have an outdoor covered patio which is nice especially in the warmer months. I ordered the arancini calls, which would have been better with some sort of sauce as they were a little dry. The marinated peppers and arugula was nice but a little seasoning of some sort would have enhanced the flavors. The chopped salad was delicious and way more filling than expected. Pizzeria Luca has not made a misstep. From the ambiance, warm smiles that meet you as you enter, delightful staff and stupendous food, they continue to shine like the Hollywood sign. I absolutely love the color, the space and the vibes here. It's wonderful for families, friends and couples. We have a big family with lots of kids and they've never rolled their eyes or made us feel unwelcome. Their staff, both the ladies and the fellas are so warm and kind. And the food is incredible. The last three times I visited, I absolutely loved the gluten free pizza option. As long as I asked them to be sure the edges were well-done (which, honestly, I shouldn't have to request), it was one of the best I've had. But when we visited again last night, I found that they changed the gluten free pizza crust. It's now house-made, which I respect, but it's so much worse in terms of pizza satisfaction. Even with asking for it to be well-done on the edges, it came out doughy, undercooked, and lacking all crispness. It's kind of puffy and more like deep dish than thin crust. While I could have sent it back, my dinner companion was almost done with his meal when my pizza arrived. I struggled through a piece and brought the rest home to attempt to salvage with my own gf baking knowledge. Unfortunately, I won't be craving this new version in the future. read more

Such a cute spot in Lancaster! The Luca sauce is amazing it's like a cross between ranch and Cesar and it was on the salad which I ate too quickly to take a picture of. Pz Luca gets high marks for its contemporary decor but I found the pizza and sides not nearly so good as rated by most reviewers. We had the salcissia pizza but there was hardly any sausage and it almost seemed like the ingredients had been scraped off. It is cold, noisy (result of too many acoustically-reflective surfaces), and a barebones interior. The pizza tasted good, though for $20 per personal pie, you'd expect more. The ordering system is annoying. We stare at screens all day, when we want to go for lunch or dinner with others, we don't want to stare at our phones again. We want to talk to our friends and family. Please bring back the normal ordering system, staff that takes your order and welcomes you warmly. And please, replace those non-functional pseudo acoustical panels in the ceiling with panels that work. 3.5 Food: food is tasty, a little over priced for Lancaster but not unreasonable. We split 2 pizzas and dessert for 3 people and it was the right amount. Bianco Rosso: this pizza was the disappointment of the two. The sauce was tasty but the cheese and addons lacked flavor, felt the same as a margarita pizza. I added lots of chili flakes and basil. Funghi: this pizza was good, lots of flavor. It was a little salty. I am so glad they have some veggie pizzas because apparently they didn't used to. La Dolce Vita: very tasty soft serve with fennel pollen and EVOO. Service: service was great but I wish we had checked in with our server since the app said they were sold out of a pizza they were not. Ambiance: it's ok. The restaurant decor is stylish, but the chairs are not comfortable and it seems to be less inviting on purpose to be more fast casual vibe. This is a new, bright, open building, and our server was friendly and prompt. It's nice, but not intimate and may be a little loud. All of the food was very good. We enjoyed the Stellina pizza (margarita with ricotta in points around a star-shaped pizza), the Cacio e Pepe pizza (rich cream, cheese, pepper, no tomato), some warm olives (orange/savory oil mix), and the arancini (5 small creamy/cheesy rice balls with a hot pepper sauce on the side). We LOVED the crusts - light inside, crunchy outside and thin. My Italian Lambrusco was good - not too sweet- and my husband's Negroni was good but tiny (maybe 2 shots?) served in a juice glass. The Negroni and the bill were the only negatives...small, and a little expensive overall. I think these pizzas are priced higher than when we went to Luca, but everything is higher these days. Love this place. Have been here many times. Leaving this updated review in hopes that it helps management make some changes. Had a family dinner recently here. 5 of us total. We arrived during the busy dinner rush. The person at the entrance was super friendly and advised we could be seated at the high-top table. This wasn't ideal since we had some seniors in the group. But we were told that was the only option, so we took it. The entire time we spent at the restaurant, there was a regular table which remained vacant and could have seated our group. We wondered why we weren't seated there. The food was overall great as usual EXCEPT for 2 things. Myself and someone else in our group ordered the same pizza, except mine had an addition. The fellow that brought my pizza gave it to another person in our party and stated it was the regular pizza without the addition. After a few minutes, they brought the regular pizza and gave it to me. I pointed this out to the server and he seemed perplexed. I asked him to simply bring over the addition on the side, and all would be fine. NOTHING. Finally, after 10 minutes, our server came over and I told her what happened. Super nice. After another 10 minutes, she finally brought over my addition on the side. By that time, my pizza was cold. Also, all of the pizzas were over cooked and burnt. The cheese had separated and become chewy, instead of stringy. The Manager came over and apologized and made things right. Super friendly and open to feedback. Also, in my previous review, I mentioned that you could only order via QR code and it was essentially a self-serve process. It looks like that's changed. Luca's restaurant is very good. Too bad the pizzeria is such a disappointment. Many other reviews discuss the ordering system, cold ambiance and overall arrogance. What I'll concentrate on is the food and disorganized service. I had a Margarita Pizza. I thought there would be slices of fresh mozzarella. Instead it was loaded with shredded cheese on a very thin crust. It was greasy and tough to eat. My wife and daughter had salads. The salads were small, not enough for a meal. We shared warm olives and the oil quality wasn't up to par. The orders are brought out as dishes are completed. My family was almost done prior to me getting my meal. We used to go to Luca Pizzeria often, but the last few visits have been a real disappointment. When I went recently, we noticed the pizzas have gotten smaller and toppings have become more sparse. All three of our crusts were burnt. There was also a ten minute gap between when each of the pizzas was brought out. I ordered a gluten free funghi pizza to go and was shocked by the size. I thought half the pizza was missing! The crust on it was extremely thick, and there were only four mushrooms on it. I'm not sure we'll be going back anymore. read more

You may be able to look past the price of a pizza if you had typical restaurant table service, but having to order via QR code with no server interaction just doesn't cut it. I don't really get the negative reviews. Maybe it just wasn't the sort of pizza they expected, or the price they expected (good food with quality ingredients is not cheap these days). But I thought the Sandro was one of the best pizzas I've ever had. I'm a foodie from L.A. and I feel like the pizzas at Luca would hold their own there. The service was maybe not up to the standard of the other Luca, I'll say that much. Friendly but very tentative. And the ambience was not as warm. An important distinction about this location and how it differs from it's flagship restaurant Luca in downtown Lancaster is that it sits amidst a new shopping center surrounded by busy parking lots. While it was a gorgeous afternoon and I opted to sit outside, the ambiance felt like we were sitting in a parking lot. Our table didn't have a dedicated server, meaning multiple people served us. This led to us having to ask for refills of water and such since no one person knew the status of our table. The food was fantastic and served promptly. Absolutely deserving of a visit for the quality of the pizza alone! However, if expecting the same charm the original flagship location holds, it misses the mark read more

Pizzeria Luca serves authentic brick oven pizza. We ordered from the Rosso section over the Bianco pizzas. The 'doppio' margherita was rich with cheese, sauce and garlicky. We also had the arancini, rice balls, as our appetizer. These are delicate little fried balls of rice, mozzarella and other cheeses. We order them at every visit and enjoy them with delicious, soft, sweet house wine. My husband says the wine is served the same way as in his time spent in Italy. He likes the non-stem bistro tumbler glass they use. The service was friendly and attentive with more than one server. Our order was confused but corrected quickly. The manager oversaw our order and made sure that we were served the correct pizza. The friendly staff made up for the confusion. We sat in the patio on a pleasant night without a wait. The mozzarella fritta with the honey truffle was amazing! Everything else was subpar. We had the pepperoni pizza and the star pizza and I'm spelling it wrong I think but it's a margherita pizza with ricotta stuffed crust shaped like a star. I think the pizza was overpriced for what it was. I expected something special but the crust was not good. It was "yeasty" tasting if that makes sense. Not sure if this is supposed to be wood fired pizza but the taste unfortunately was just not there. The service was excellent. From the hostess to the wait staff- no issues whatsoever.
