Went to JB Dawson's after not being there in many years. Never had a bad experience there, until today. Had 4 in our party. One person had an average piece of salmon, another had a below average crab cake sandwich, and I had a pedestrian pulled pork sandwich. The fourth party had a Southern Chicken Salad that looked fine, until a hair was discovered. They immediately took it back and brought a second choice, a mushroom soup that was ordinary. One of the napkins we received was dirty. When this was pointed out, I asked for some additional ketchup, and was rewarded with a dirty look. The ketchup was delivered. It was New Years's Day, at lunchtime, the restaurant wasn't busy and there was plenty of help. We likely won't return. read more

Our waitress was Kylie and she did a great job! Personable, on top of things without being intrusive, explained the specials clearly and concisely without being pushy at all! We started with drinks and the spinach reggiano dip-delicious! My wife had the 6oz filet mignon, and I had the Cajun ribeye. Both arrived in a timely manor but not right on top of the appetizer--timed perfectly! The steaks were tender and cooked exactly to order! The matchstick French fries sided the steaks perfectly! The coleslaw and broccoli rounded things out nicely! We were too full for dessert, perhaps next time! The manager stopped by to check on everything as we were wrapping up-very personable and polite! I went with a friend to have dinner at JB DAWSONS and ordered the prime rib cooked medium. It arrived very rare but I attempted to eat it anyway. I was not able to cut the meat and when I did saw a small piece of it, I could not chew it. It was very fiberous and I tried to eat several pieces from different places on the meat and I could visibly see the stringy textur. I eat different cuts of beef and steak and have never had such an awful piece of meat. I don't know how people can recommend this place, although I usually don't eat at chain type restaurants. Service was very good and the restaurant had a nice ambiance but the food was awful. I was at this lunch with the Welling/Taylor crew, and the experience described in that other review (Brittany W.) is not what happened. Brittany could exaggerate a weather report and is known in our family as "the Karen." And unfortunately... she lived up to the nickname that day. Her daughter Myla (my cousin) was enthusiastically shaking pepper like she was summoning a spirit -- pepper literally flying into our food and our eyes. I personally asked the manager for help because she wasn't listening to her mom. The manager was calm, professional, and simply asked an adult to help her stop. No attitude, no rudeness -- just basic restaurant common sense. We actually had a great visit overall. I'm not sure why Brittany felt the need to shame the restaurant, but it definitely wasn't because of the service. If anything, it looked more like an attempt at a free meal than an honest review. My friend and I went for dinner last night. We did have a reservation because it was Friday night. The restaurant looks very nice and clean throughout. Our server was absolutely amazing. She was so kind and helpful. The food was delicious as always. We shared the chicken tenders platter and the Parmesan chicken. We also had the cheesesteak eggrolls to start with the horseradish sauce. We finished off the meal with the walnut apple crisp which was warm and tasty. For a while now, I've been wanting to come back and see if the food is just as good. And spoiler alert: it is! I ordered the Texas tenders with a side of fries and the garlic whipped potatoes. The tenders were, dare I say, so moist and juicy! And the batter isn't too crunchy, but it's sooo good! I liked the fries, they're more like shoestring fries, so if you don't prefer that then I'd skip out on them. The garlic whip potatoes were my absolute favorite thing on the plate! Not sure what happened the prior visit but gladly it must have just been a rare mistake in the kitchen (though a very big one). The 2 stars comes partly from how long it took to get our food on a lunch service on Friday with a mostly empty restaurant, but mostly from the younger male manager who felt the need to speak rudely to my 5 year old daughter. She was holding the pepper shaker and he made comments to her in a very rude voice about not touching it because other people use it. 1. She wasn't hurting it or touching it in a way that would affect the output or "cleanliness" of the pepper grinder. 2. She comes to the table doesn't greet us just a full on attitude, when taking our order she is practically yelling "HUH!?" as we speak. Although I did not want the bun with the crabmeat I'm glad I received it. Chicken Alfredo the sauce makes the dish. The cinnamon apples did not meet my expectations. The cheeseburger is cooked well and the fries are crispy and seasoned. Chocolate Martini perfect! Ordered desserts to go will update. On a recent trip to PA, my husband and I joined friends for dinner here. Our friends have dined here before, but it was our first visit. Everything was excellent! There at times was like 10 staff members standing around by the hostess staff. 4/5 Food: the food was basically upscale bar food that was average overall. Cheesesteak eggrolls were over cooked on the outside and cold on the inside and the sauce was awful. 2/5 Cajun ribeye was over cooked and overall just lacked flavor. I expect a ribeye to be full of flavor. This one not so much 3/5 Lobster bisque- by far the best item we had. This place is great for celebrations and dates! The lighting is dim and the noise level is low. I wouldn't say it's a place to take kids. They have lots of seating but I would make reservations just in case. The parking lot is not the best since it's the mall and all the spots near the restaurant are taken. Menu is big with lots of options for lunch and dinner. The pricing is a little high but that's most likely a COVID issue. You did get decent portions and the food is fresh. Our waitress was friendly and checked on us frequently. They also have a cool bar area to sit at. I'd recommend this place if your looking for a fancy meal that's not too expensive. read more

We got the warm bread and maple syrup butter which was delicious. We quickly ordered and waitress was really nice. Our food came out pretty quickly and my burger was cooked to perfection and was delicious!!! My son was hungry and quickly ate his ribs. After he's eaten almost half I asked to taste and I realize its cold. I asked him and he said yeah they came out like that. Very hefty salad for $16, you could easily make two meals out of this. I must admit, I was pleasantly surprised with the quality. My wife and I both joined the email club and the past two visits we enjoyed our free appetizers. This time we chose the crab dip with tortilla chips. That was really good. All-around solid for a variety of reasons. Checked this place out after all the local smorgasboards were either closed or too packed during a long weekend. This place is definitely a solid option. Pretty straightforward menu with solid fare that was consistent across the board. There was plenty of seating and lots of space between the booths, which worked out for COVID protocols and all. Tried the lobster bisque, which was extremely satisfying for a variety of reasons. They are extremely generous with the lobster and that is definitely a great reason to order this. My strip steak was pretty solid. Well cooked, right temperature and the baked potato and salad sides were all tasty. Literally the entire meal was good and satisfying. The ambiance of this place is on the dark side, but the staff is friendly (albeit a little slow at times). It is a good place for a pleasant evening and some great food. I had cheese steak egg rolls and bang bang shrimp for an app which I'd both recommend. Also had the lobster bisque special which was a highlight. Loads of tasty lobster in large pieces. Filet Oscar for a meal which was good, however would likely order something of more standard fare on my next trip. Service was ok, seemed like our waiter was relatively new but still friendly and helpful. Managers were walking around and said high and able to assist. Our booth was in poor shape and could use a cushion replacement as it was all ripped up which took away from the ambiance. Shoutout to Mario & Maya for working together as a smooth team and attend everyone at the bar because it was pretty busy tonight when we came around 6:00pm. The hostess told us that wait time to dine at a table was 45-50 minutes. Immediately we went straight back to the bar because there were plenty of open seats. Mario gave us pumpernickel bread and maple butter and I felt like the bread was almost soggy inside and a bit chewy when I was eating it. My boyfriend ordered the lobster bisque appetizer and it tasted very fresh and creamy. It wasn't too thick either. Our entrees were overall very good. I ordered filet mignon cooked medium and it was so delicious and tender. Didn't need any A1 sauce. I also got steamed broccoli and my favorite, the shoe string French fries which I wish I would've ordered a double order of to take home because I LOVE the French fries forever and ever My boyfriend ordered the crab cake sandwich and he said it tasted delicious. We were there for a tournament and we went at about 8:30 pm right before close. I ordered the crab cake sandwich and my daughter had a chicken Caesar salad. Both were delicious and we had an appetizer of coconut shrimp. The service was great, since it was close to closing there were not many tables seated.
