    Sooooo good, cauliflower yuzu salad

Service (Lindsay this time) is always on point and so is the food! Everything was delicious, especially the arancini ball appetizer and the Chicken Katsu dinner - so flavorful and scrumptious! I like the atmosphere but because we had some guests who are hearing impaired, it made conversation upstairs difficult. We were by a very noisy bar and there was a piano playing on the opposite side of the room. Otherwise the Belvedere is the best!

The food was good and so was the service. The restaurant is in a beautiful building. We went here for our 30th anniversary. The only negative I would say is I thought they would have given us a complimentary dessert for our special occasion. It would have been a nice gesture.

Amazing! The historical building set the stage for a perfect anniversary dinner. Our server, Ari, was so pleasant and attentive. The menu was not huge, but there was definitely something for everyone. Everything was well prepared and delicious. 100% recommend!!!

Exploring French-influenced American cooking through mussels, cod, and steak Tonight I tried a restaurant that uses classic French cooking techniques with American ingredients. I realized how much cooking methods can travel across cultures. The mussels were cooked in a white-wine broth, a style that comes from coastal France and Belgium, where people steam shellfish quickly to keep the flavor fresh. The cod taught me what pan-searing really does--it makes the outside crisp through the Maillard reaction while keeping the inside soft. Many French chefs brought this method to American kitchens in the twentieth century. The steak showed me another idea:"reverse searing,"where the meat cooks slowly first and then gets a high-heat finish to keep the center rosy. Seeing all these methods in one meal helped me understand how French techniques shaped American fine dining, and how chefs today mix these traditions with local foods to create something new.

What can I say? The food was amazing, the drinks were delicious and our server was amazing. We sat at the bar as it was extremely busy. I would recommend making a reservation. The decor was very dated night or celebration event!

    Duck

The beet and peach salad was served with a whipped then bruleed goat cheese. It was excellent. Main course was the duck served with a fantastic carrot tahini. The duck was cooked perfect. My wife had the short rib which was wonderfully. The dessert was a great chocolate mousse served with a carmel sauce and crumble which was also one of the best desserts we have had in a while. service was very friendly if slow. Would highly recommend,

The food, service and ambience was excellent. Looks like a swanky hotel but you can go casual. I appreciate that they accommodated my husband and I with our toddler. Definitely would go back! A must try foodie restaurant! Affordable quality dining compared to NJ and NYC.

My hubby & I have come here many of time and every time I say, one day I'm going to sit at that gorgeous bar. Welp, we finally did it!! Great bartender & drinks! Clean and aesthetically beautiful. Had to pinch myself. Food was quick, hot & delicious. I had two vanilla, pear, martinis, and the hubby had Astoria drink. The vibes and people at the bar were so much fun. Made for a dreamy date night.

This was our second time here, our first being before we decided to live in the area! It's always a pleasure to come, the staff are very kind, very knowledgeable and attentive to every need you may have. You are greeted every time you come and go, and there's always a smile to go with it! The ambience is opulent and historic. They have kept the charms of the original building, decorating it with tasteful art and flowers everywhere. This is a great place for a date night, a special occasion, or a even just a great experience. We were lucky enough to book outdoor seating on their adorable balcony, there's only a few tables so reservations recommended. I'll let the photos do the talking! The food is ALWAYS delicious here, and plating is artful and creative. We had gnocchi, some salads (the carrot salad was such a highlight! We loved the flavors!) and the duck was also cooked to perfection. My husbands only complaint was the udon noodles it was resting on (the duck).. he said it was delicious but didn't feel like it go well with the duck. Otherwise, no complaints If you're in Lancaster, this is a MUST TRY! I will definitely be coming in for a third visit and many more. Parking tip: if you come during dinner hour and don't mind spending a few small bucks, there's a garage just a short 3 minute walk from the restaurant, it's safe and open all night! (And next to the arcade for after dinner games!)

We had a wonderful time at the Belvedere Inn! Our server was lovely, and the food was all around delicious. The ambiance is wonderful, with a cozy tavern vibe. Great place overall, and would love to come back once the deck is opened.

We are in Lancaster for a family event and wanted to try a restaurant that is unique to the local area. I went to my trusted Yelp App, like I always do when visiting an unfamiliar location. For my wife and I The Belvidere was the most intriguing restaurant but unfortunately their website didn't have a table available until 10:00 p.m., my wife called them and luckily they had just received a cancelation. We had a 7:30 p.m. reservation. They have free street parking and a parking garage a few yards on the left, we found a spot on the street and we walked in at 7:15 p.m, we gave the hostess our name and we were immediately seated. The decor is very relaxing and warm. It's not quiet because the place was packed, but I didn't consider it noisy. Now to the important part, the food. We hadn't eaten all day, so it was game on! Appetizers: Arancini 5 stars! Beautifully crunchy on the outside and the perfect texture on the inside with a great overall flavor. The sauce it is served with was perfect. The Belvidere Bread 5 stars! Get outta here! I could eat this bread every day, all day. It's crispy and so tasty we forced ourselves to save some so we could have it to properly clean our dinner plates at the end of our meals. ( ya know, like Italians do) Lobster Bisque Soup 4 stars. I was pleasantly surprised at the size of the portion. It was the largest bowl of Lobster Bisque that I've ever been served in a restaurant. It was very flavorful, but it lacked lobster meat. It had very small pieces of lobster meat, but it didn't have that one big piece that is the prize. Entrées: I went with the special. A 14 oz. Bone-in Ribeye over mashed potatoes served with asparagus with mushroom sauce. I ordered it medium temperature. 5 stars. I am not a fan of mushrooms, so before ordering, I asked the waiter if the sauce had big pieces of mushrooms, but it did not. I hate to change a special a chef has created, so I ordered as the chef had designed, and I am happy I did. It was cooked to what I consider a perfect medium temperature, and the flavor was so good that I didn't need to add any salt or pepper. The asparagus was the best restaurant asparagus I've had not just because of the light seasoning but because it was cooked, so that it was tender. In my experience, most restaurant asparagus is undercooked it seems like it had been picked, cleaned, heated for 5 minutes, and served. Not this asparagus, it cut with a fork, and I finished every stalk. My wife had chicken picante 4 stars. She loved the flavor of the sauce, but she didn't give it 5 stars because of her personal preference that the chicken cutlet be pounded out to be thinner and the breading to be crispier. The only thing we didn't enjoy was the cranberry spiced margarita. For us, it wasn't sweet enough. We had entered the restaurant with the intentions that we'd be ordering dessert, but that was not to be true. Sadly, we were full. Side notes: The waiters name was Jamie. He was friendly, knowledgeable, accurate, and attentive 5 stars for Jamie. It was just my wife and I, and we were very happy not only with the service and the food but the total time the dining experience lasted. We gave our orders at 7:30 p.m. and by 8:35 p.m. the meal was complete. We were stuffed, happy, and walking to our vehicle.

When we were seated, we were given the prix fixe food menu but never provided with a drink menu. We were served water, but our waitress didn't ask if we'd like cocktails, wine, or any featured Valentine's drinks. For a special occasion dinner, that felt like a major oversight. The bigger issue, though, was the food. Several courses were noticeably undercooked and difficult to enjoy. The carrot salad had hard, undercooked carrots and a very bitter sauce that overwhelmed the dish. The grilled Badger Flame beets were also undercooked and had an unpleasant flavor. The beet risotto was firm and lacked the creamy consistency you expect from a properly prepared risotto. The halibut tasted overly fishy and seemed undercooked in the center. For $75 per person on Valentine's Day, we expected a polished, thoughtfully executed experience. Instead, the meal felt poorly prepared and not worth the price. It was an unsatisfying way to spend what should have been a special evening. The ambiance was very nice but the rest of the experience left a lot to be desired.

Introduction:…read more Representing 2018 in alphabet series, O is for On Orange. The letter O only has 5 of the 8 possible years represented in the alphabet series. Interestingly, 2 of them are in Lancaster County, PA. This was prior to my parents moving to Lancaster in 2021. In March 2018, my girlfriend of that time & I took a day trip to Lancaster. I lived in Montgomery County, Maryland (near DC) at the time, and we were meeting up with a friend who was living in New Jersey kind of in the middle. We agreed to meet at On Orange at 12 PM on that Sunday, March 25 since we were driving from far away, and I think they were doing a day trip too, but possible they stayed a night in town, not sure. Also, On Orange closes at 1 PM too, so even more reason to be punctual. My g/f of then was notoriously late & took a long time to get ready. She was taking too long to get ready, and I knew we needed to leave if we even had a chance of making it on time. After a while I said I don't want to do this, but I will leave without you & meet my friend (& his girlfriend). I started the car and texted you have 1 minute to come out, and if you aren't out, I'm leaving without you. My timer reached 0, and I slowly was driving off, but I saw her shuffling with her coat and what have you leaving, so I waited. We got in the car, and I rushed off. If that weren't bad enough, my g/f said we needed to stop at her bank to get cash. Of course, there was none right within route, but saw a location right off I-83 in northern MD, Hunt Valley, but we wasted more time to get off the freeway, for her to go to her ATM, & get back on the freeway when we were running significantly late. I said we are running significantly late as it is, so why are we wasting more time. She claimed in case there was something she wanted to buy in Lancaster, but that was not the primary purpose, but I'll get to that at the end. I was panicking on the significant late, and that the restaurant closes at 1, and I drove above 100 mph at times on I-70, which I think was the only time I've ever gone that fast on 70, and maybe only 4 times ever in my life reaching that speed. Experience with the Restaurant: This is street parking around here, which was free meters on Sunday. We got a decent parking spot a block away. We walked in at 12:50 PM, which was 50 minutes LATE and 10 minutes before On Orange's closing time of 1 PM. My friend & his girlfriend were already done eating. He said that they had their stomach set for eating at 12, and there was pressure to order since it's not a huge place and pretty busy. I was annoyed with my friend for not waiting for us, but I get it because let's be honest, my g/f fault on that one. Server was cordial, and my g/f & I quickly ordered. Food came out quickly. We ate quickly, and my friend & his g/f watching us eat. Food was delicious, and they were quick, but to be fair, they were closing in 10 minutes, so they were motivated to get out of there. I got a pancake & egg dish as I recall. This was a top notch brunch. In spite of the negative experience of being so late because of my g/f, the experience at the restaurant was excellent. Conclusion: After brunch, we looked around downtown, Amish Farm (see my 5-star review of them written in April 2018), etc. and was overall a nice day with the 3 of them albeit very cold. After we left, I took the back road from I-83 all the way back to Germantown, MD where she lived to see something different and to save a little gas too since it's pretty direct going that way. My g/f was complaining about it taking so long getting back. I knew she was meeting up with a friend that night. But what I later realized, she wanted to stop at an ATM that morning really because she needed cash to pay that friend for cannabis that night. So, she disrespected everyone's time for this. I guess on a positive at least she wasn't cheating on me with that guy and really was just for pot. In conclusion, I thought On Orange was top notch, and they were accommodating to our time schedules.

For how busy they were, the server was very attentive and very accommodating as we were yapping away and constantly not ready with our orders so kuddos for the team and putting up with us! I love the mystery beer concept, its not great beer, but being from DC at like $2 a can, I am not passing that up, ever. And a cheap beer with a burger is the perfect combo! On to the burger... I have heard that this is a great burger... and I have to conclude that I agree though it is reminiscent of a Big Mac - just way better ingredients - it has to be the sauce they put on it... Anyway, nice size patty, good amount of toppings and a quality bun (not too soft, not too thick, bread soaks up some of the juices but doesn't fall apart). The mussels were quite excellent as well. It was a Thai curry broth the night we were there and it was drinkable, like soup... we did ask for extra bread... enough said. I am going to take a minute too and praise their spirit free cocktails. THIS IS HOW THEY SHOULD BE MADE. They used bitters, tonics, etc to craft something that tasted like a cocktail but without alcohol which means they were not sickly sugary concoctions, but expertly crafted beverages. Just really great options. All that said though, their espresso martini was one of the worst I have had. Just skip that.

Our party of 4 ordered 3 appetizers: the cheese board, the short rib eggrolls, and the New England clam chowder. The clam chowder had wonderful flavors, but did seem to be lacking in actual clam meat. The PA Preferred cheese board was a nice selection of soft and hard cheeses and paired nicely with the honey, fruit and bread. The egg rolls were excellent and I would have loved to have had an entree that was based around the short rib as it was that good! I ordered the grilled NY strip as my entree. The dauphine potatoes were wonderful with a crisp top and gooey interior. My steak, however, was a bit disappointing. It was cooked to the requested medium-rare temperature but did not have much flavor on it's own. The bordelaise sauce was very good and had a nice acid balance. The steak was just not seasoned as well as you'd hope. There was also a lot of sinew that was difficult to work around. My husband ordered the scallops on special that evening. The scallops were cooked to a perfect level, but the rice had bits that were hard & undercooked. I was expecting top-level food as the head chef/owner served not one, but three US Presidents. The cocktails and wine selection were a high point. We had a regular old fashioned and a blackberry margarita that were absolutely divine! We split a bottle of the Primarius pinot noir from Oregon and all enjoyed that as well. Overall, it was a pleasant dining experience.

A nostalgic meal We…read morefirst ate at The Log Cabin several (many?) decades ago. We enjoyed our conversation with the owner about the history of the restaurant. The building and dining rooms are still inviting and comfortable. The restaurant is located in a remote area on the far side of a one lane covered bridge. The menu dishes have a formal presentation. The food is good, but not outstanding. The Log Cabin is an appropriate location for a milestone birthday or similar celebration. The service is attentive.

Upscale American restaurant in a restored log cabin…read more I came here for dinner with my fiancé and although we made a reservation, our table was not ready for 30 min after we arrived. The hostesses were very apologetic however (apparently the party before us was taking an incredibly long time), and both they offered to seat us either outside or at a high-top table and gave us complimentary prosecco, so I don't fault them for this. The main entrance to the place is pretty cool, as it really highlights the rustic vibe and there was a waiting area that had a 3-person band playing classical music when we came. However, other than this room the fact that the place is a restored log cabin isn't really apparent. The food was all very average. We came here on my birthday weekend, and they had a small folded paper on the table saying "happy birthday" (that they must reuse because the inside said "happy anniversary") and their was a small baggie of chocolates. It seemed like almost everyone there was celebrating something, as I saw these on most of the tables
