Stewed Pancakes
Lexie M.

My friend and I really enjoyed our time at On Orange. The gentlemen who I believe might have been the owner or manager was really helpful with explaining the menu and letting us know about popular dishes. We ordered the Swedish pancakes which came with stewed apples. They were really unique and tasty. We also split the baked oatmeal which came with milk to pour on it. It was served nice and hot and the contrast of the cold milk was great. Whenever I come back to Lancaster I would definitely return!

Pancakes! Double stack.

Our large group stopped in here before we were heading to the airport on a Sunday around 9am. They sat the 7 of us quickly and we loved the ambiance! Super cozy and homey. We ordered a variety of things on the menu and it was all delicious. We particularly loved the pancakes but be warned the stack of 3 Swedish oat pancakes could have fed all 7 of us easily!!! Unless you're the hungriest person alive, 1 pp is PLENTY. Eggs and omelette were cooked great, everything was well seasoned. Great seeded breads and the bacon and crisp and delicious. The fresh squeezed orange juice is a must!

Was in town for a wedding Came across this little gem in the wall Food was amazing I had a western omelette and my sister the specialty omelette, Greek inspired. I didn't have coffee but my sister did She said it was nice and strong The place is nicely decorated - has a lot of character And it's clean Staff is friendly Not overly priced and I felt they serve just the right amount of food The fresh bread was delicious

This is a great little cafe. It has a lot of character and charm. The seating on the lower level is cozy. The coffee is strong and good. The food and service was excellent. We especially LOVED their toast-- the multigrain bread is a good enough reason to go!

Swedish pancake w/stewed apples, Florentine omelette w/roasted tomatoes and 7 grain bread

This place is consistently EXCELLENT. The food, the service, the friendly, cozy environment--all A+ . It's changed hands over the years but the high level of care in every aspect has stayed the same. I've been dining here for decades and it's still one of my favorite breakfast nooks in Lancaster. You won't be disappointed here. Tip: whatever menu item you get, be sure a Swedish pancake (or 2 or 3!) is ordered too. They're made with oats and my favorite thing there.

Indian omelette is super spicy and super delightful

Whether you're looking for a breakfast that's more traditional or one with a little twist, On Orange has got you covered. The food and service are top notch at a terrifically affordable price point. I loved the basement level dining area--I sat in a small cubby with its own chandelier (lone diner). Lovely outdoor dining space is through the basement area, too.

Delicious food in a cozy, old colonial setting. Dishes are unique while still feeling familiar, and all of the staff were so friendly!

This is a tiny spot with a lot of fans, so expect a wait!…read more My husband and I came here for brunch while staying in Lancaster - we were expecting to have to wait due to how busy it was on a Saturday morning, but we were amazingly able to be seated immediately (there were 2 last spots by the door). It's not the most comfortable place due to the size, but the smells and vibes are good, so it's worth checking out. I got the blue crab benedict with potatoes and my husband got the short rib tacos. Service was quick and we were overall impressed with the food! My one gripe is that they didn't have any fun coffee drinks, just black coffee from what I saw.

I started off today so excited to come here based on the reviews. As the service progressed I could…read moresee my review ticking lower and lower. And then we found a hair. And then they charged us full price. And that was the final nail. We made a reservation for a noon brunch on a Sunday, we knew it was going to be busy and we got seated right away, amazing! And then it was down hill from there. We were seated right by the bussing station, I was staring at dirty dishes my entire meal, at one point I was hit and I spilled my entire cup of coffee all over my table and lap and had to clean it up myself. The French press itself was border line in drinkable. The grounds were too finely ground causing there to be grit throughout the entire pitcher of French press. We each had about one mug each. The food came out and my over easy eggs were over medium at best, the entire bottom of the yolk was hard through to the middle. Only one biscuit got gravy. And then once my partner finished his eggs he found a long black hair under where the eggs were. Needless to say we were very much done with The Bread Pedaler by the time this happened. We let the waitress know. She brought the check, which still included the food we didn't eat because there was a hair in it. Not wanting to start anything we just paid (still tipped 20% because I'm not a jerk) and left. I wish this was the great review I was hoping to leave. I was so excited to eat here. But this was truly one of the worst experiences I've had in years.

The restaurant is small and quaint with a very friendly staff. I ordered the salted caramel Nutella mocha along with the French toast crêpes and hash browns--everything was delicious. My husband had the Nutella crêpes with bananas and ordered two. The waitress gave him a side eye, and for good reason--they were huge! He could only finish one, so we took the second one to go. At $6 each, the crêpes were an amazing value for the size and quality. We would definitely return.

Great experience! Second time here for Sunday brunch and it did not disappoint!…read more I ordered the everything breakfast (crispy bacon) and a green smoothie (without protein powder). Green smoothie tasted healthy and very refreshing. Just what I needed. The crepe came out pretty quickly. It was HUGE (so come hungry). I was so tasty, I appreciated how much it tasted like a NYC bacon egg and cheese on an everything bagel. The service was amazing, friendly, accommodating and attentive. We were seated outside this time and it was still pleasant though I prefer inside seating. There was a long line and we were seating with a 20 minute wait time probably because we were open to outside seating. Overall it was a great time, great for groups and great food!

Their simple eggs, toast, potatos and bacon are perfectly made with local ingredients. Their French toast was both sweet and savory! You can't go wrong here. The service is always great, friendly servers everywhere doing whatever it takes to make your dining experience incredible. The location is massive. Seating everywhere. The menu is massive too. Many bacon options, including that yummy bacon jam. Prices are not diner friendly and depending on the item, the portions are not worth the price. I had a special (Shakshuka) and the biggest item in the dish was a loaf of bread. Tasty bread but the eggs were not baked and simply over super easy. Small skillet too. If not for the bread, I'd be leaving starving. The Gracie's Breakfast was more reasonable and served with a side, banana bread too. Large OJ (yes, fresh squeezed) $7.32! $125 with 22% tip for a party of four for breakfast is simply too much. Not sure I'll return. They won't struggle without me.

The restaurant is large with lots of seating and not on top of other tables. Service was friendly and our food arrived promptly.  The robo-service was a cute and quite a functional addition to the dining experience. It brought entrees/meals to the assigned table and the server followed to serve the food. This was efficient because our meal came out and another server was able to grab the items off the robo-server and give them to our table.  The food was very good and portion sizes were equal to the price. We sampled the egg white veggie omelet with toast and homefries, which was cooked perfectly. The home fries were spot on! The eggs benedict were cooked just right and very tasty. We also enjoyed the pancakes and sausage. Very good consistency and flavorful.  A bonus that there was a carafe of syrup on the table instead of the little packets or small bottles.  Overall a great breakfast spot.  We will try their lunch menu in the future.

The place was busy! Despite this, I was quickly seated. I ordered the Veggie Omelette and requested that my hash browns were prepared extra crispy. It wasn't long before my food arrived. The hash browns could've been cooked more to my liking and it seemed like the portion was less. Overall, my first time here was better than this time but at least I know they are open on holidays and I can get a quick meal.

Breakfast was in a conference room with impromptu tables and chairs. It was a weird experience back then. This time, it had improved. The lobby is finished and it looks nice and updated. Very modern. The restaurant is done and clean. Breakfast had some clean and relatively new silverware. The experience this time was at least better. The rooms are not done renovating yet and it is still outdated.
