I love me a good old fashioned diner. The Rte 30 diner has all the ambiance you'd expect and also has the special touch honoring local fallen soldiers by lining the perimeter with their photos. Service was prompt and friendly. Food arrived quickly and was tasty. I'd be happy to return here the next time I'm passing through.

We don't live in area, but everytime we visit the Lancaster area we hit this little gem of a diner. The food is consistently good and you will be greeted promptly with a smile. Love the old diner vibe. We will be back for sure.

We love the ambiance of the diner. This is a family owned restaurant. Came on a Sunday with only 10 min wait. We had a Belgian waffle with crispy bacon( just like we like it) and two eggs with ham& toast. Portions are large. We saw the hubcap pancake which is what they are known for. It is huge Great customer service! Highly recommend.

I was in town again and couldn't wait to hit Route 30 Diner for breakfast. Oh boy! Just when I thought that I had had a great egg dish during my last visit, I decided to try one of the specials- - eggs Benedict with asparagus and smoked salmon. The dish was packed with smoked salmon, and the asparagus was cooked perfectly- not overcooked, but sweet and tender with a bit of crunch. Very reasonably priced and the waiter, Alex, was friendly and on the ball with topping off coffee.

This was the Irish breakfast with corn beef hash her side was the fruit bowl another great choice

When you are pulling up, it does look like a small hole in the way diner. There are no issues with parking plenty of spaces. However, inside is small! This is an establishment my parents always wanted to try when they adventure to the lancaster area, and we decided it was time, and man, i am so glad we did!!! Nothing that we ordered was bad. The worst thing was my chicken tenders were fried a little too long but still tasted good. My dad ordered the ham loaf, which is served with a side of pineapple glaze it was very good. I ordered the chicken fingers with sweet potato fries and their homemade soup. Wow, that soup was absolutely amazing!!! 10 out of 10! My mom got the chicken salad club sammie, and wow, was it good! The chicken salad was homemade and tasted delicious Head on into this diner where the food is delicious and the staff is super nice.

Route 30 Diner GOOD: Nearly everything - Service (Alex) A+, the food was tasty and made as asked and the price was fair. BAD - Nothing much. You don't come to diners for atmosphere and Route 30Diner isn't an exception. Still, it was very clean. Route 30 Diner was a great choice. I avoided it for the tin exterior for many years but I was glad I gave it a chance and I gladly eat my own faulty assumption. My cuban panini was delish ( recommend 1000 island over mustard), the service was perfect (fast and friendly) and the price was very fair given the quality. Give this place a try, you will be pleased. NOTE: I came on a Thursday for a quiet experience and they now take credit cards - none of this "cash only" nonsense :)

Great old-school pre-fab diner experience. Walking in, the decor reminds me of many old tin front diners. We were seated with no wait, even though the restaurant was very busy. The food was top tier, and cooked just right. The Hubcap Pancake was exactly that. As big as a hubcap, and super thick. My other half had the chicken corn chowder, which was a home run in flavor and texture. The service was spot on, not ignoring us, nor was our server intrusive. When the check was presented, paying was fast and easy, allowing for a quick departure.

Staying in Lancaster for about 2 days and had to come here. I ordered the hot meatloaf sandwich and mashed and gravy. My gf ordered the patty melt with fries and a sweet tea. All told ran us $32. Service from Daniel was perfect he was nice to us and very personable with his other customers some of whom seemed regulars. My sandwich was huge with 2 big slices of meatloaf between white bread and slathered with gravy. The Gf added mushrooms to her patty melt and she loved it. Would eat here again. Place felt inviting whether you were a regular or just passing through.

Whenever we go on…read morevacation, we try to visit a new coffee shop every morning, and on this day we ended up heading over to Coffee Co. We chose this spot simply because we passed it several times during our vacation, as it sits right off Route 30. I headed inside while my family stayed in the car. Although I knew the building was fairly large, I was not expecting just how many tables and seats were available. From that standpoint, it felt much more like a sit down restaurant than the coffee shop I was anticipating. That said, they did have a designated area for ordering to go, which is where I headed. After looking over their winter specials, I tried to order something with peppermint for my wife. Unfortunately, they were out of peppermint syrup, which was also what I would have ordered for myself. I ended up getting my wife an iced mocha while I went with a hot coconut latte. My coffee ended up being decent. The coconut syrup was easy to taste, but it did not overpower the coffee itself. My wife's drink looked good with whipped cream and crushed peppermint on top, as they still had that available, but she was unable to drink it due to a stomach bug. The bottom line for me is that I might head back here again in the future. While I do not know that I would go out of my way just for coffee, it seemed like a nice place for a sit down meal.

Note to those navigating the Bird-in-Hand restaurant website, there is a section for coupons and "specials," that is a must to check out. I need to take a moment to emphasize the customer service, which far exceeds nearly anything I've encountered elsewhere. My hands shake and this was seen while at the hot food area (eggs/ham). The gentleman behind the bar, offered to hold my dish, scoop my food and bring the food tray to my table. Our waitress, spoke to us as if we were friends and her smile, seemed genuine. The breakfast offerings, unfortunately, were a let down. Eggs were lukewarm, scrambled hard, boiled ham, flavorless, pancakes, spongy discs, homefries, potatoes from a can (noticeable corners were cut in many food items), continuing... mini sticky buns, crisp, hard, fruit - lacked variety, baked oatmeal, toothsome, dry, unremarkable. I plan on coming back for lunch - Wednesday, for your chicken potpie; it's so good and to be treated like family.

What I personally love about these doughnuts , it's the "layered " part. The croissant like mix between a doughnut and a flaky croissant. They are also big doughnuts.. the flavors are good and very interesting. I got half a dozen to try as many as I could but still left some of the flavors out. Definitely opting for a full dozen next time! Another thing that makes this place stand out , is there savory doughnuts . I got one of those too because I just had to try them.. lol. I couldn't stop eating them lol they are so good! By far, my favorite doughnut in PA. They also offer Gluten free & vegan doughnut options. Which is a huge plus, since my daughter is gluten free. She said "these are the best doughnuts I've ever had" ! The place is really nice , modern like warm Bakery / coffee shop feel. The service was great too. I waited a bit for the gluten free and savory doughnuts, but the employees were very good about letting me know that they would be coming out shortly, which was nice. I did not taste any Parmesan cheese in the crust and was only given a few cold slices of shaved Parmesan on top. It would've been much better if the cheese had been melted. Our server was very polite. It did take a while for us to get recognized after we sat down and to get refills. But I would definitely go there again. The prices were very reasonable, much cheaper than I expected-under $25 for each entree. You also get a basket of bread. The portion sizes were very generous. I recommend this for a nice evening out without kids. Very nice place to eat with good food.
