We typically go to Columbia Family Res. up the road, but their lobby was FULL and out the door, and we didn't wanna wait. Noticed PROSPECT DINER was nearby and thought we'd try em Got the chicken & biscuits, and she got the chocolate chip pancakes. We both thought the home fries and pancakes were great!! This place is smaller with a limited menu comparatively , but we found the service to be comparable if not better, as well as the food and price. Can be a bit loud when the staff and regulars recognize each other and catch up, but we found that endearing - nice ambiance ! We will be returning to try out more of the menu! read more

Hands down, one of our favorite breakfast places of all time. The food is good, the potatoes are great- you'll leave here full. It can get pretty busy, but the food doesn't take too long. It's a little diner with a lot of personality. Sometimes the one waitress gets a little stressed out, and it's tangible, but that's not the end of the world. read more

When you walk in, the first thing you notice is the cleanliness. This diner is from the 50's and they manage to maintain a clean environment, including the restrooms. This is a quaint little Diner on one of the main roads to York, PA. It's hours are limited to breakfast and lunch...pretty much 7am-12pm, the menu is down to earth good Diner food at reasonable prices. Service was very good from an out-front staff of 1 server and a young lady helper. She was hopping and very efficient, also knew the menu well. The coffee was hot and fresh, many of the locals there have asked the owner to not change it, just keep it coming as is. I had creamed chipped beef over seeded rye toast and a side of bacon. My husband had the ham and cheese omelet, rye toast, and homefries. If we are out this way again, we'll be sure to stop by. They do it right. read more

Love this little diner. MaKe sure to check out the specials on the chalkboard behind the counter before grabbing a booth or a stool. Booths are old and the seats were comfortable 20+ years ago but i guess that adds to the classic space and vintage vibe. The menu is creative -- only breakfast here--and the prices are very reasonable! The food is the star of the show, it's actually just delicious. Specials are creative and the rye bread/toast is an absolute must order! Hours are limited, the regulars will be at their habitual stools, the staff is friendly, definitely worth the stop on this busy stretch of road. read more

Who doesn't love a diner? I've been driving past this no-name diner for the past year marveling at the number of cars I'd see in the parking lot each morning. Had to be a good place, right? Right! Decided to try it for breakfast while my son was in town last week. He ordered pancakes and I ordered the omelette from the children s menu. (My only other option was a FOUR EGG omelette! ) His pancakes arrived. They were light and fluffy-- and the size of a dinner plate. So delicious! My sweet little ham and cheese omelette was accompanied by a single piece of buttered toast and some fried potatoes. Delicious. Never ending coffee refills. Nice old school place. Open only for breakfast (maybe other items but closes at noon). The booth seats are suffering from too many years of big'ems crushing the springs, but you won't mind much since the food is great. Daily specials that are creative and well-executed, but your regular staples as well. The servers aren't your average wait-trons these days and actually seem to like their jobs. (Hell, who wouldn't with a 5 hour work day). They wear company shirts with,"This ain't no stinking country club." Imprinted, but don't take offense, just don't look for champagne or caviar on the menu, but if you wanna a good breakfast without getting brow-beaten by a miserable sever, highly recommended. For years I've passed this diner, which has a sign featuring a .99 cent breakfast weekday mornings. I was always intrigued but never stopped. Many times it didn't appear to be open. Other times we were on our way elsewhere. The outside is totally 1950's and it's placement in the fork of a road is a little strange. As is the small V shaped graveled lot that borders a main route. Finally we took a gamble and stopped. Our expectations were low as the steps leading to the diner were crumbling and weeds protruded thru the concrete, however once inside we were transformed to an era long gone. All the 1950's details are intact. The interior is remarkably very clean. Regulars sit at the counter and turn to check out the newbies. There's one lone waitress and she seems to know everyone's name and story. A board of ever changing specials is above the counter, and a menu with their regular breakfast offerings on the tables. I was surprised at the variety of the specials - including a stuffed French toast with a drizzle, and a baked oatmeal complete with raspberries and an icing glaze. The prices were another shocker as they were very low. The menu featured more basic offerings and a few kid and al la carte options, again all very reasonably priced. The .99 weekday breakfast special is only a $1 more on the weekends - imagine that. The food was good and the service was fast. Hubby didn't care for his coffee, but also was impressed with his meal, a larger platter which was enough for 3 people. I'm still in shock over the prices, where a party of two can have breakfast, coffee, and juice for less than $10 with waitress service. Amazing! My dad said this diner has been around since his youth in the 1950's, and although the outside surroundings have seen better days the inside is probably exactly how it looked when it first opened. Some things to know......I believe breakfast is their only meal, and I'm unsure exactly when they close. Parking is a little rough due to the odd shape of the lot and the proximity to a busy street. Someone with disabilities will need a hand making their way inside due to the condition of the steps but don't let that discourage you. This place is a gem. read more

We went on Monday, Memorial Day at about 8:30 AM before our big day at the Salunga / Landisville town wide yard sale and flea market. Pull into parking lot a few cars not the usual packed lot. We go inside and not very busy. One waitress on duty. She greets us and tells us the corner table is ready and open. Get to table no place settings. There's a older gent setting the table right across from us when he's done setting up table just walks away and doesn't pay no mind we are sitting there with no settings. After 5 minutes and getting ready to leave the waitress shows up and takes our order. Food came out pretty fast, hot and correct... Leaving full and hunger satisfied. We settled the bill and To our surprise the bill was cheap! They were honoring their daily special prices on the holiday... Kudo to them for not gouging the wallets on a holiday! While this price is true it is only on weekdays. The diner has a very classic, old school vibe. There is one main dining room with red and black colored booths or seats at the counter as your seating options. The decor is stainless steel accented with classic Americana adorning the walls. Menus are already at the table so do not wait for a server to bring one to you. They offer classic breakfast items from omelettes, french toast, pancakes, creamed chipped beef, and eggs benedict. This morning I chose the Benedict for $6.95 which I discovered includes home fries and bottomless coffee! The ambience is loud, a mixture of locals sharing news with each other and the din of clanging dinnerware fill the air. I have been living here for 30 years and only after my boyfriend took me for breakfast 5 years ago I passed this diner many times but never stopped to go in. Now we eat here pretty regularly. The food is really, really good and there always is plenty of it. Try the County style open face omlet is what I order all the time. All the food on the menu is great, the country style is just my personal favorite. How ever no matter how hungry I am, I was never able to finish it! Place is small with limited parking, but the food and portion size was excellent! Reasonable prices for what you get. We went on a Sunday at about 1030. $7.95 omelette that was so big, you could have feed two off one plate. I had the Bacon omelette with hash browns and chipped beef poured on top with toast. The only thing that was a negative was the wait time to order. I think they only had one waitress on that day. The waitress was nice and tried her best. We love this place! It's actually Conroy's Prospect Diner now. Great service by sassy waitresses, home-cooking, friendly atmosphere, great specials like their "Reuben" omelet and banana bread french toast. Very reasonable prices. If it's a slow time, they're very laid back, so if you're impatient, don't go if there are few cars in the lot. Otherwise, food is great, very friendly atmosphere (we're regulars there and as soon as we sit down, the waitress brings our drink order without asking what we want. I love it. Lots of friendly banter between waitresses and customers. We tell newcomers, nowhere else will you get breakfast with a show. Our schedules are such that we've never had lunch there yet, but we'll get there sometime. read more

Was headed to McD's for breakfast (traveling through the area) and passed this place and stopped on a whim. Had to stop because of all the cars parked all over the place (means something must be good inside). So glad I did! Had a properly greasy breakfast and an entertaining conversation with a few locals sitting next to me at the bar. The food in this little jewel is incredible!!! Creative, delicious, large portions. We had a crab cheese macaroni omelet that was fantastic. The specials are innovative-combos that I would not think of putting together. Wonderful, friendly servers-Kristine and Ceci handle a packed house easily.
