My wife said the Belgian waffle would've been excellent by itself. Add to it the toppings and it was fantastic. You'll have to go check it out. My party of three's final dine-in meal in South Central Pennsylvania specifically Lancaster, Pennsylvania for Sunday breakfast post Independence Day 2026 which after completion we immediately forward to navigate the long-haul car drive return to our native NYC. Upon entering the maître d' disappeared from the hostess stand, but we waited to be seated at a table. We were placed at a booth where given the name Lyndon Diner is a diner. We waited with great patience approximately ten minutes for our waiter to appear at our booth. It did not appear extremely busy nor at full capacity for early morning Sunday breakfast. A male runner did acknowledged with gratitude noting our patience to take our drink orders. After scanning the standard large laminated printed spiral menu, I decided on breakfast sandwich. I'll admit, I was homesick as I miss NY style breakfast sandwiches particularly lox and schmear on a bagel as appetizing. It is the ultimate classic New York bagel pairing combination. "Lox" refers to silky brined or cold-smoked salmon, while "schmear" is the Yiddish (Jewish) word for a generous spread of cream cheese. New York continues to reign supreme for pairing of lox (cured salmon) and schmear (cream cheese) on a bagel. The waitress looked at me non-Pennsylvanian visibly befuddled with silence as she did not understand. The end result my order was fulfilled as baked salmon $18.99 with lemon and one slice of orange on a separate plate. The salmon was gargantuan cooked very well as it was not dry of good consistency and flavorful favorable. I am very impressed with the size and the actual cooking of the salmon. However, I was despondently disappointed as I wanted "lox and schmear" on a bagel for a bagel sandwich. My bagel was awful as it was flat not chewy. Western sandwich $7.99 Scrambled eggs, white dry toast. Toast is not included in this entrée, but we were charged $2.99. Irish breakfast $12.59 Unfortunately this entrée is missing the key features of pork sausages (bangers), thick-cut back bacon (rashers), black pudding, white pudding, fried sunny eggs, and sauteed tomatoes. Two French toast $6.49. It was a large mound of home fries potato embedded with pieces of meat. It was a gargantuan ash heap of potatoes. This is starch high heaven! I did not see any egg, no tomato, no sausage, and absolutely no pudding. Total disappoint. The prepared finished result and appearance called Irish breakfast was egregiously appalling and insult to New York Irish. I refused to apologize for being a native New Yorker. All in all and all in the food was mediocre. My party was disappointed and we miss our home city's ethnic diversity food offerings, large portion size and quality. Price is moderately extortionate high at Lyndor Diner, but expected in 2026 stagflation era. Customer service is fair to middling average, as I concur with Yelpers, indeed. No comment for restroom facilities as I did not utilized. Takeout menu is available for grabs. I have no plan to return. read more

Had the best time. We met our friends there who live in PA, as we were just visiting. Had breakfast. We started out with Bloody Mary's. For a diner, they were excellent. Being we hadn't seen our friends for a while, we asked our waiter to give us some time. When we ordered, everything came out perfect. I had an egg on a croissant with bacon and cheese, friend had eggs Benedict with home fries on bread, husband had eggs, bacon and home fries and really not sure what my friend had Our service was stellar and the food was excellent. My food tasted good, however, there were a few things wrong. I ordered the Patty Melt, and asked if they would exchange the Rye bread for Wheat bread - they didn't! Also, I ordered a mixed drink, it was made well, but the strawberry that they put on the side of the glass was rotten! I took my son around 7pm on Wednesday. It was nice and peaceful inside with 50's music playing and a clean warm atmosphere. Our server was nice and was there for anything we needed. My son decided on a Caeser Salad, hot chocolate and a hash brown omelette. His eyes were bigger than his stomach but we brought the omelette home for Grama and she loved it. He loved his hot chocolate with really good whipped cream. He ate a lot of his salad and the side of hashbrowns. I had a side salad that was a good size and onion rings. Yum. Disappointed! Went for dinner last night and the calamari was overcooked and so rubbery it could not be eaten. The waitress never asked how the food was until after she dropped the bill, then never offered to remedy the issue when she was informed of it. At checkout, the cashier asked if everything was ok and we told him about the overcooked rubbery calamari. He merely replied with, "Have a great night." Highly disappointed. Easy to find location with ample parking. Staff seemed tired. I ordered the new Tuscan ravioli with creamy sauce toppped with dry tomatoes and fresh spinach. Plating was beautiful! The ravioli's weren't salted, bland. When you bit into a dry tomato that gave this dish flavor, I did have to add salt and pepper. The garlic toast didn't taste buttery and garlicky nor tasted like olive oil. Instead I got a mouthful of rancid burnt oil taste. This came with a lovely garden salad that had grape tomatoes, red onions, hard eggs lettuce and croutons. The potatoe soup was served warm. I had to ask for a hotter temp. Also, the bowl was chipped! Obviously it was very busy on Thanksgiving. The waitress apologized multiple because we had to wait for her to take our order. My wife had farm fresh eggs, exceptional hash brown's and fresh baked white toast and Amish butter with great coffee that was neither too strong nor too weak. I had the same, but with a side of creamy grits that were cooked to perfection and crispy outside, tender inside scrapple. If the quality of the food wasn't enough, our waitress was friendly and knowledgeable, which added to a wonderful dining experience! Typical clean diner. My waitress tonight looked like she didn't want to be there. I'm used to very upbeat people, when I've frequented Lyndon Diner. Not tonight, February 24, 2026. I got a piece of ground pepper caught in my throat, so I asked the waitress already at the water dispenser for a glass of water "please". She looked at me with a dead stare, two full glasses of water and walked away. It took 3-4 minutes to get the other waitress attention. She was at the counter, wrapping silverware. After the water walk away waitress first ignore, she passed again. Another dead stare and nothing, while I'm clearing my throat. I ordered the Crab stuffed Flounder, only for the waitress to come back and say, we have no crab and cannot make anything on the menu with crab. Next, I ordered a Ceasar Salad and a Tuna Club. The Ceasar Salad was doused with dressing to the point, I couldn't eat it, at the restaurant. I tried the Tuna Club - Toast was slightly burnt. Taste wasn't the best because they're using cheap tuna, instead of Albacore. I packed up my food, paid and left. Total Price without a tip was $28.00. It should have been $20.98, according to the menu, without the tip. I left a 20% tip on the $28.00. Not sure what happened tonight. I don't typically leave anything but a great review for a restaurant. If they mess up, I leave it alone. However, the place was dead. It was a Tuesday evening at 5:30PM. I had not eaten all day. I have been to the York location at least four times and due to schedule went to the Lancaster location. I was not disappointed. The facility is clean and modern. The staff is great. Service was spot on. I ordered eggs Benedict. It came out quickly and was a very generous serving. The Canadian bacon was 1/4" thick! The muffins were nice and fluffy. As I was waiting for a table this morning, I was frightened by the sound of a man screaming. Assuming it was an unstable and potentially violent person at the back of the restaurant, I considered heading back to my car for safety. Then I noticed that none of the staff in my view had reacted. A customer beside me said, "It's the owner. He yells at his staff all the time and it's just awful." A staff member confirmed the owner regularly yells at staff and said they all have to "walk around on eggshells." What a shame. The place is so cozy, the service is outstanding, and the food is delicious. What a shame that Lyndon Diner is a place where customers and employees can be made to feel unsafe. A message to staff - Consider seeking legal advice. If the yelling is frequent, targeted, and creates a hostile work environment, it can be considered harassment, which is illegal under federal and state laws. read more

Not recommended for anyone with gluten or dairy allergies. Told them of my gluten sensitivity and they still put bread crumbs on scallops. They also said they didn't use butter but it looked like it.
