    Cigar Cutter Old Fashioned

From start to finish, our experience at 401 Prime in Lancaster was nothing short of extraordinary. The atmosphere struck the perfect balance between elegance and cool--think rich textures, low lighting, and timeless tunes from Sinatra and Dean Martin floating through the air. I had the Wedge Salad, Corn Pudding, and the 8oz Barrel Cut Ribeye--and every bite was spectacular. The salad was crisp and flavorful, the corn pudding was pure comfort, and the ribeye was cooked to perfection, tender and bursting with flavor. Bird tried the Crab Stuffed Shrimp, Creamed Spinach, and The Thresher, and couldn't stop raving about them. The Cigar Cutter's Choice Old Fashioned was a standout--easily one of the best I've ever had, smooth and smoky in all the right ways. Our server, Heroly C, was friendly, attentive, and made the entire night seamless and enjoyable. If I had to mention one miss, it would be the 401 Special Steak Sauce--it tasted like straight ketchup mixed with Worcestershire. Not exactly what you'd expect at a place of this caliber, but thankfully the steak was so good it didn't need it anyway. If you're in Lancaster and looking for a place that delivers on food, drinks, service, and vibe--look no further. 401 Prime is doing everything right.

Great happy hour, food was tasty! Service at the bar was quick even while busy. Loved the ambiance, sexy with perfect lighting.

I made a reservation a few weeks ago for my boyfriend and my anniversary. The day before I received a call asking for the other persons name who will be dining with me so they could do something special for us. Fast forward to the next nice when we get to the restaurant, we open the menu and on the first page it said "happy anniversary" and had our names. Super cute touch!! We also got to keep that page of the menu and take it home with us. They started us off with lavender scented warm towels to wipe off our hands with was really nice ! We started off with the baked oysters Rockefeller , 10/10, I could have eaten another helping lol I got the filet mignon and my boyfriend got the ribeye , both could have been seasoned better but to be fair , I prefer a well seasoned steak so that's a me thing lol. Both were cooked perfectly to the temp that we wanted. We got asparagus and the crab Mac and cheese as a side and those were very flavorful as well. Arrive a little earlier to have time for parking since street parking is hard to come by and the garage is a little bit of a walk It was a little noisy as we say next to a larger party but overall I would 100% recommend this place to anyone who is looking for somewhere nice to celebrate or if they want a next level experience

Our reservation was for 6:45 and we had no issue finding street parking in Prince Street. Since is was after 6pm on a weeknight the parking was free. We went to celebrate my husband's birthday during Lancaster City Restaurant week. That was good timing for us because he ordered off their special prix fixe menu. He ordered bacon, the filet, and the chocolate skillet. Both the bacon and dessert were large enough to share. I had the scallops. I thought the scallops were tasty, but my personal preference would be less mushrooms. The sauce was flavorful, but too rich for me. The amount of rich food I ate was enough to make me second guess my choices...next time I will not order the scallops or eat any of my husband's bacon. I ate only 1/2 of the scallop dish-I picked out the scallops and still had a lot of sauce and mushrooms remaining. The popovers were delicious and the lavender towels a nice touch. Our server Allie was great. 10 out of 10 service. The decor and ambience is also fantastic. I am only giving it 4 stars because I didn't love my meal. I am sure that's just me...others shouldn't hesitate to order the scallops.

Anniversary dinner recently at 401 Prime was not the best. For a very expensive bill ($400+), 401 didn't deliver at that price point. The ambiance was lovely, but the meal did not deliver. Best part was miso bacon appetizer but my husband felt it was very heavy for an app. Steaks were in no way worth the price. Service was attentive and knowledgeable. Sadly, we won't be returning for our next special occasion night out. Lancaster has better options.

WOW. JUST WOW. From the moment we walked in the door to our very last bite this experience was exactly what we needed and more. My husband and I came up to the area for a little weekend anniversary getaway. We wanted to have a nice upscale dinner but aside from one other spot we didn't know of many. After some searching we stumbled across 401 Prime. We could only get an 8:30 reservation which we'd normally never do, but we knew we weren't going to get in anywhere else that we considered to be a nice romantic dinner so we kept it. Thank goodness. Our server Joseph was INCREDIBLE. He took us through a detailed walk through of the menu, mentioning key items and ingredients, the origins of certain cuts of meats, and preparation style notes. He asked us if we wanted lime, cucumber, or lemon for our water, and we were handed a tablet with an extensive wine menu which Joseph noted the chef and owner ( or bartender?) are sommeliers and hand crafted the wine list. We went with cocktails, opting for a Paloma for me and an autumn mule for my husband. We were informed the drinks could be made as mocktails as well. Both drinks were phenomenal. We were also brought a little hand towel that Joseph poured hot lavender water on top. We started with the thick cut miso bacon. It was melt in your mouth delicious with a smoky sweetness. We were also brought popovers as the bread service and I snuck in a piece of the bacon between a piece of a popover and it was heavenly. We split the autumn salad with came filled with fresh figs, goat cheese, and walnuts with a maple vanilla dressing that was equal parts light and decadent. For our entrees my husband did the rib cap and I did the filet and crab cake special with bernaise. We ordered our steaks medium and Joseph came back to check and make sure the temperature was good. While they were slightly under medium, they were so tender and delicious. The crab cake was all lump crab meat. Zero filler. For our sides were did the potatoes au gratin, which was rich and cheesy, and the brûléed corn pudding. The corn pudding was like dessert and we loved it. Speaking of dessert, I was insanely full but my husband wanted to try the warm Chocolate butterscotch bread pudding. Joseph brought me vanilla ice cream with a sparkler to commemorate our anniversary and it was a wonderful ending to a fantastic dinner. To top it off, instead of mints, four little almond cookies were brought with the check. If you're familiar with Italian pignoli cookies, this is them without the pine nuts. 401 Prime is incredible for a special occasion. Do NOT hesitate to make a reservation.

A hidden gem , I can't believe this place is in Lancaster PA. The wife took me here for my birthday and I was in awe. This place was vibrant and very elegant. The food was chefs kiss. The staff was very nice and attentive. The Mac n Cheese was to die for. Wagyu steak was butter on a fork. Cant wait to go back.

My best Lancaster dining experience hands down. Was lucky enough to snag a gorgeous private room. They make sure the meal is an experience start to finish. Starting with the lavender hand towels and delicious popover bread with incredible butter, we knew we were in for something good before we even ordered. Not to mention that they bring you 3 types of salt, and let you know which pairs best with each dish, and they do pair wonderfully. Everything we ordered was delicious, see the photos below to see the wonderful presentation. Lastly, service was quick and friendly. We were absolutely stuffed by the end of the meal, but would absolutely come back for what looks like a delicious dessert selection. Go here. That's all I have to say.

If you're thinking you'll be trying PA wines, that is not the case. If you're wanting a change from PA wines, this is a great opportunity! 2) This is a wine tasting place in a strip mall. From the outside it's extremely unassuming... but it's well labeled, so you can be confident you're in the right place. The inside looks as you'd like: spacious, clean, room to relax. As I was sitting inside, casually doing a tasting, I completely forgot we were in a strip mall. Well-done! An added bonus of the location: there are a LOT of good food choices nearby! The prices. Yowza! I did like some of the wines, but not enough to pay for the bottle (~$40). But I enjoyed a tasting ($10 for 4 tastings) and also ordered an extra glass of wine. They have 2 fixed tasting menus to choose from. I asked to switch out one of the wines for a different one, and that wasn't a problem at all. The customer service was nice. The woman was friendly and attentive, and not obtrusive or pushy. She was there when I wanted her, but was also content to let me sit, relax, and enjoy the wine. I love the ambience. There are a lot of tables and chairs, placed nicely around so you can enjoy your own space or have a nice drink with friends without being on top of each other. A wine bar of sorts. It is nicely decorated - feels warm and welcoming.

It's in a strip mall, but is quite large and nice inside with artwork and wine themed displays. It just seems like they are incredibly overwhelmed when we come in. I don't know if they need more staff or what. I'm going to focus more on the most recent visit. I called to make reservations (you are supposed to) and the woman who was working seemed shocked that I wanted to make same day reservations. However, she agreed. We went in and there was some sort of loud group in one of the rooms. At first she seemed very attentive to us. However, the amount of wine poured for the tastings this time was so small and that was shocking. When you get the local flavor deal, apparently you are supposed to get bigger pours (this is what she ended up telling us and what we've been told before) You also get goat cheese, crackers, etc. which are quite nice. Also, really, their wine isn't great. It's more for the experience it took us this many times to really realize it. Anyways, after the first second tasting, our server vanished for about 20ish minutes. She finally came back to give us our 3rd tasting (you get 4) and that was it for at least another 20ish minutes. All in all we spent about an hour and a half and that was because of all the wait times. Another couple came in and sat at the bar who didn't have the deal; it was obvious they were worth the attention more than us local flavor people. I really advise them to stop doing this deal. They get overwhelmed easily and I ended up feeling like I was hounding them to serve us. I wanted a glass of wine (an actual glass at the end) and my wife had to go up to the woman to ask for one for me. It was over 13.00. Not worth it... I'd rather go get a nice cocktail some place for that price. Inevitably, The local flavor deal is not even that great of a deal, particularly when you feel like you are being put on the back burner in favor of other customers. We won't be going back.

So I wanted to check it out and then I read that they have a bar in the house open to the public. The house is very cool looking from the outside. It's lit up pretty nice and there's a parking lot half a block away. When you walk in you notice it is a huge old school house like hundreds of years old. And there's a little bar set up in a corner. After you get your drink, you can find a seat somewhere in the house and enjoy your drink. There's also a little board games, a fireplace , and a piano if you choose to play it. I had a great time at this mansion. I think we had about three drinks so I got a nice little buzz on. Also, the bartender was very nice, I do not remember her name but I told her I would be writing a review and she got really happy with that. She also told me a spooky ghost story from one of the rooms in the house. I won't spoil it but it was a good story. The murder mystery itself was the highlight, the storyline was engaging, and the actors were clearly well-trained in improv and very kind. Murder Mystery: 8/10 The room was fairly standard, what you'd expect in an old-timey house. No TV or modern extras, but there were plenty of charging outlets, which was appreciated. Room: 7/10 The food during the stay was incredibly disappointing. Most of it felt like reheated microwave meals. Breakfast included eggs, bacon (very thin, broken pieces), cubed potatoes that were oddly watery, ham slices, stale danishes, cereal cups, and a parfait option that had run out by our 9am time slot. Dinner was similar in quality. I chose the cheese ravioli, but despite being second in line, it was cold. The same watery potatoes from breakfast were served again, along with green beans. The only highlight was the coffee, which was good. Food: 2/10 Unfortunately, the parking situation is very poor. There are only 5-6 spots directly outside and a few more up the hill behind the carriage house. I was dropped off at check-in and informed staff that my boyfriend would be arriving late. I was assured there would be parking available and that staff would be present 24/7 to assist him. However, I woke up to a call from him saying he couldn't find parking. I went downstairs to get help, but no staff could be found. Not wanting to disturb other guests, I eventually gave up, and he had to park on the street in the neighborhood on top of the hill overnight. At breakfast, we were briefly told about additional parking behind the carriage house, but there was no apology or acknowledgment of the issue from the night before, nor any attempt to make it right. Parking: 1/10 The staff overall seemed inexperienced and, at times, unprofessional. While I empathize with younger staff members, there were several uncomfortable moments--such as hearing an employee joke about "killing" another staff member over a small mistake, and staff walking away mid-conversation while we were trying to ask follow-up questions. Staff: 4/10 Overall, there were some enjoyable elements, especially the murder mystery, but the experience didn't quite match the price point. With a few key improvements, this could be a much more worthwhile stay.

The atmosphere, the food and the staff at the Rendezvous are excellent. To add to the atmosphere was the music which I learned was actually streaming the bartenders iPod via Pandora Internet radio. This was music to my ears (pun intended). I believe that the good music can be as important as pairing wine or drinks with food and Ashley had it dialed in. While at the bar I ordered a Kettle One Martini with a lemon twist. The drink was delivered and look liked any other martini but then I took a drink. The martini was very smooth and the lemon twist was incredible. In fact it may have been the best Martini I ever had. If you are looking for a great atmosphere, great service and possibly the best Martini's you'll ever have then make it a point to visit Ashley at the Rendezvous lounge. I should mention something about the food since I did eat 3 meals there. Of course the Martini's were a big draw but the food is equally good. Over the 3 nights that I dined at the Rendezvous Lounge I had roasted pears and Brie Quesadilla, Wedge Salad with thick cut bacon, Chesapeake Blue Crab Bisque, Central Market Salad with goat cheese and cranberries and their seared tuna. All of which were presented nicely and tasted wonderful. I recommend any of these small plates depending on what your in the mood for. I look forward to my return visit to the Marriott at Penn Square and the Rendezvous Lounge. I hope to hear Pandora, see Ashley and enjoy some of the other fabulous creations at the Rendezvous.
