Awesome outdoor dining experience when weather permits & pretty good indoor dining as well. The menu offers something for everyone from gourmet to meat & potatoes. Great place for a night out with friends!

We had a party of 8 we ordered our food and the waitress was appearly young and inexperienced. For a Saturday night, everyone's food came out except one person. Either the waitress forgot it or the kitchen messed up. The waitress was not very attentive to our table and just missed the mark. I understand she was young and inexperienced. The judgment of management was off. The drink menu has no prices listed. One person in our group ordered scotch and did realize it was $70 a shot because of no prices on the menu. Also, we tried to split the bill between. Couples were forced into one bill for gratuity. The food in was good. The manager made the bill right. Maybe next time the experience will be better.

My SIL and her husband were taking my husband and I out for a night on the town since we haven't been anywhere in Lancaster City. We came here to eat dinner and grab a drink to begin our night. We had reservations for 6:45 which was a good thing (it seems like making reservations here is the way to go) and were seated immediately when we arrived. The place seemed busy especially since there was a fairly large party next to us (who were obnoxiously loud at times but that's not the restaurant's fault) , so the service was a bit slow. However, our waiter was very friendly and honest by letting us know ahead of time that the kitchen was getting backed up so we may have to wait a little longer for our food. We were fine with that since we enjoyed sitting and chatting anyway on the rooftop that has a very chill atmosphere. We put in our drink order and they arrived about 10-15 minutes later. I got the lemon basil martini and it was delicious! One of my favorite drinks I've had out. Then, we ordered our food which we did have to wait about 30-45 minutes for but everything was beautiful and tasted wonderful. My husband got a burger and fries and I got the charcuterie board. I wish my SIL and I would have thought to share because she ordered one too and when they arrived, they were filled and we felt we got our $20 worth! Although it doesn't come with any bread or crackers on the menu, we asked the waiter if he could bring some bread for us and he was happy to do so! This outing left us with more of a positive experience than anything and next time we come to the city, we would be happy to come back again.

Due to inclement weather I was unable to enjoy the rooftop experience. Yet, the staff accommodated the best that they could. The drinks were great! We had the espresso martini, cucumber martini, the featured spritz(can't remember the name), and the coconut mojito. All were equally delicious!! The atmosphere is cozy and inviting with its warm decor and industrial touches. It is about a 2 minute walk (1.5 blocks) from the Marriott on the corner. Great spot for a night cap after an even at the Marriott! The only thing thing that I would suggest for a better experience is for fine-tuning the younger staff members. There were little mishaps that happened during our visit that made this more a 3.8 out of 5 rather than the 4 out of 5 I originally planned on giving.

I've been to Altana many, many times over the years. This was by far the poorest experience I've ever had. We had a party of four. There was one party finishing up as we sat down and one table that arrived while we were eating. I understand food service and dining has changed a lot during this pandemic, but very simple things should remain consistent. One being customer service. The server didn't greet us, just said use the QR code to access the menu and came back a few minutes later to ask for our drink order. I saw three employees floating around the bar area and it took an extremely long time to get our drinks - let's not forget there were no other patrons on the rooftop at this time. We ordered two or three apps and our entrees at the same time in order to limit contact. About twenty minutes later, with no food in hand, we are told that half the items we ordered are not available. One of my biggest pet peeves is when servers don't tell you upfront that certain menu items are not available. Just be upfront from the beginning, it saves everyone time and is also good customer service. Had we known that half the dishes we ordered were not available, we likely would have gone somewhere else. There was no apology, nothing. We ended up sharing one app and I was one of the lucky ones that actually got their entree.

Thank You, Alexis The other day, my friend and I decided to have dinner downtown Lancaster. We ended up going to Altana Rooftop Lounge. Upon arrival, the hostess informs them that they are not seating anyone else because the kitchen was about to close. I announced, " I am new to Lancaster, and I brought my friend with me who lives in E-town. We are excited to be here." The hostess went to ask the owner if he could seat us, and the answer was yes. The vibe, the food, the drinks were terrific. Our server, Alexis, made our experience all the better. I questioned her if she was a local, and at that moment, she could tell that we were either visitors or new to town. Although she had about 15 tables she had to serve, she was still top-notch. She provided me with a list of places to try because I am a foodie and love nightlife. I was genuinely appreciative of her service, personality, and love for her job. When we were finished, I left her a $25 tip. One thing about me is that I LOVE excellent service at restaurants. So a huge thank you to Alexis for making my friend and I's first experience at Altana Rooftop Lounge fantastic.

A view of roof tops! It was nice being outside and away from the hustle and bustle. The food was great and our server was as nice as could be.

I believe this is the first time I actually dined here (have been plenty of times for drinks/partying) and was very pleasantly surprised. I ordered the crab stuffed cod which was perfect and my bf ordered the shrimp scampi, which he also loved. The flatbread was yummy and not pictured (but PLEASE order!!) was our order of sweet potato fries -- perfectly fried and tossed in cinnamon butter. *drooling* Also, the sunset was dreamy. Anyway, I know there are some negative reviews here but I just wanted to share my very positive dining experience!

The food here is amazing. Service was okay. Waiter kind of hovered over us the entire time. The bar was very packed. We had a reservation for 4. Ambiance is good, dark with lights at each table. Nice soft music playing in the background.

The atmosphere, the food and the staff at the Rendezvous are excellent. To add to the atmosphere was the music which I learned was actually streaming the bartenders iPod via Pandora Internet radio. This was music to my ears (pun intended). I believe that the good music can be as important as pairing wine or drinks with food and Ashley had it dialed in. While at the bar I ordered a Kettle One Martini with a lemon twist. The drink was delivered and look liked any other martini but then I took a drink. The martini was very smooth and the lemon twist was incredible. In fact it may have been the best Martini I ever had. If you are looking for a great atmosphere, great service and possibly the best Martini's you'll ever have then make it a point to visit Ashley at the Rendezvous lounge. I should mention something about the food since I did eat 3 meals there. Of course the Martini's were a big draw but the food is equally good. Over the 3 nights that I dined at the Rendezvous Lounge I had roasted pears and Brie Quesadilla, Wedge Salad with thick cut bacon, Chesapeake Blue Crab Bisque, Central Market Salad with goat cheese and cranberries and their seared tuna. All of which were presented nicely and tasted wonderful. I recommend any of these small plates depending on what your in the mood for. I look forward to my return visit to the Marriott at Penn Square and the Rendezvous Lounge. I hope to hear Pandora, see Ashley and enjoy some of the other fabulous creations at the Rendezvous.

There's some small intimate areas, as well as a main bar, a side seating bar area, and a back area with tables and chairs. I would recommend reservations. You can pick the bar or lounge when making reservations on their website. From the moment you enter, you will get terrific service. The host was great and we were early for our reservation, but we were seated at the bar as requested. As soon as we sat down, the bartender greeted us with waters and a sample of a bourbon punch. The entire visit was filled with very attentive staff who were always friendly and knowledgeable about the offerings on the menu. The drinks are well thought out and very good. The quality of the ingredients, as well as the flavor profiles work well. It is very difficult to pick from their crafty menu. We tried a total of 4 drinks and all were delicious. Highly recommend the Papucho - such an excellent mix of flavors that are well balanced and a very unique flavor. Honestly, not sure you will find one drink on this menu that isn't delicious. They do offer a menu of various foods. We ordered the octopus and the roasted monk fish. Both were fantastic. The servings are not big so be prepared to order dental dishes or just come with the intention of not getting a massive meal. They are good portions for a small dinner or think tapas. Our server was amazing (I wish I remembered his name!), the food was delicious, and the drinks never fail to impress. The only issue we have every time we go is that they unfortunately always run out of a few dishes on the menu (and always seems to be the ones we want)! In addition, calling the restaurant has been difficult, it has often gone straight to voicemail for me. For that reason make sure to make reservations ONLINE (that has never failed). Come EARLY if you want to ensure you'll get a menu item (we often get there around 8 pm or later, some menu items always run out for us). Regardless, this doesn't stop us from coming!

I say surprising because my first reaction was disappointment at the small size of the menu. Once we decided to roll with it and take a recommended path of sharing several small plates, it turned into one of those meals that reminds you why you go out to eat in the first place. We ordered several elevated small plates, but the standout was the crispy rice with spicy tuna. It was flawless. The rice base was perfectly golden and crunchy on the outside with just enough tenderness inside. On top, the spicy tuna was fresh, buttery, and beautifully balanced -- not overly mayo-heavy, not overly spicy -- just clean, bright flavor. The drizzle underneath added a subtle creaminess that tied everything together without overpowering the texture. Every bite delivered contrast: warm and crisp against cool and silky, with little pops of sesame and microgreens adding dimension. It felt thoughtful, refined, and executed with real attention to detail. Pair that with the rooftop atmosphere -- polished but relaxed -- and the whole experience felt elevated without being pretentious. If this dish is any indication, The Exchange understands how to take something familiar and make it memorable.
