My family had a great experience here yesterday afternoon! The service was great & the food was even better. Everyone was so friendly from the moment we walked in the door. I had some of the best sweet potato fries I've ever had because they were covered in brown sugar cinnamon, which is so unique. We also had the French onion soup, pork chop special, French dip sandwich, bacon cheeseburger salad & crab cakes with no complaints. Our ONLY complaint was that we felt like the Old Bay chicken tenders could've used more seasoning. We'd definitely return when in the area again! read more

The food and service are always good. Unfortunately I could only give 3 stars because they have high top tables, not in a bar area and they are very difficult to climb into the chair and then stay there. I was very uncomfortable and they could not move us. I heard at least 3 other people complaining about them too. Just get rid of the high tops. No one likes them anyway. read more

Very good neighborhood place. The food was decent and the martinis were excellent. I was new to the area and felt very welcomed. It's clear that there are many regulars here who know each other and the staff. We enjoyed a Friday evening here and have been back a few times since. Just visiting and my folks decided to make reservations here. Not impressed. The green beans were saturated (I mean drowning) in butter. The seafood platter I ordered stated 'you better be hungry' and although I was, the crab cake was watery with an odd aftertaste as well as the flounder. the 3 shrimp were overcooked as well as the scallops. The best part about the 4 meals we had were the wings and burger. Fries are not great but the server was kind and attentive. read more

We visited on a Friday around 5pm and were surprised that there were just a few customers in the bar area. It's a beautiful old building with a lot of character. Unfortunately, the hostess/waitress seated us next to the ONLY other table in the dining area (2 adjoining rooms). The group of 7 - later joined by 1-2 more people - were loud, inconsiderate and seemed to be only drinking for the 45 minutes we were there. Once they started counting 1,2,3 to drink shots, we asked to be moved. The waitress was so apologetic and I get that the older building with wood floors makes noise seem amplified. Anyway, we ordered the crab dip, which was quite good. Unfortunately, our entrees were disappointing. Stuffed shrimp with a little crab and a lot of filler was just tasteless. The "Sea Deduction" platter of broiled seafood included an undercooked bland mushy crab cake which we sent back. It was cooked more upon return but still just bland. The sides and the other seafood items were good. The bill for two of us including one beer was $73. Plus we were charged $2.00 for a flavored added to ice tea. No other restaurants do that! Felt welcome, service was great. The menu is typical American pub food. Seating is abundant inside. There appear to be three different rooms for dinning and then the bar area that includes several high-tops to sit at. There is parking by the back door of the place or across the street in the school bus parking lot. The drinks are good. On one of our visits they were having a special on mojitos. Apparently, the bartenders were trying to get the drink down to a science when it comes to making them. Not too bad for a first time maker of the drink. I grew up in S FL so I know a mojito. Regardless, it's worth a try sometime! read more

Stopped in on a Saturday with 2 others. Food was fantastic! We ordered 2 burgers and a French dip sandwich. We chose hand cut fries, onion rings and waffle cut sweet potato fries on the side and we all tried each. Everything came out hot and was very flavorful. I had one of the burgers and didn't add anything to it just ate it plain with the bun. It was so tasty!! We each ordered a different cocktail and shared so we cold each have a taste. They were wonderful!!! Would definitely go there again and have already recommended to several friends. read more

My second time at the White Swan with friends. I don't remember the food, but a friend liked the location and lots of parking. Was his birthday so he get the pick. He liked his food, a pasta dish and said the sauce was good. I didn't like my steak. It looked like what I could've made with my microwave thawed meat. There was no crust sort of pale color meat, overcooked to medium (asked for med-rare) and salty. The beans were also salty and I believe they use pre-minced garlic. If you had minced garlic from a jar you know what I mean. It might be "fresh" but it doesn't taste the same. You might get away with jar garlic when you deep fry them and top the wings, but not on veggies. Service was good and friendly. Kitchen was slow. We were there with one other table. They already had their food when we arrived so I don't know why it took 40mins to get our food. Unless you count the starter salad one person had while the other 3 waited. read more

We went to check out the newly reopened White Swan. It was only the second day of business and the place was packed. We decided to sit at one of the bar tables instead of in the restaurant. The bar area is very nice and roomy. The wait staff was extremely friendly. The food was very good! We ordered the crab dip to start and it was amazing. No skimping on the crab meat. I then got the Sea-duction or seafood platter. It has the catch of the day (haddock) broiled shrimp, scallops, and a very large crabcake. Best fish I have had in years, cooked perfectly. The crabcake was a tad spicy which I really liked. My husband had the tips and toast points and he really liked it. I had a taste and will try it the next time we visit. The fries are fresh cut and my husband loved them. Only 2 complaints....no bread with the meal and my husbands mix drinks took a lil while to get to the table. Since they were so packed and it was only the second day of business we aren't upset about the drinks. We didn't have room for desert but I was told that they have a wide variety of Cheesecakes and a very moist chocolate cake. read more

We have eaten here several times. Not that it's our favorite place, but it's literally within walking distance of our house. ( that helps with my 4 star decision ) Everything is good. From the service to the food. It's good but it doesn't "wow" me. The one off putting thing is the manager? / owner? He seems to micro-manage everything and everyone. It's like he doesn't trust his employees competence. Anyway, good burgers and friendly staff. The menu has a wide variety from sandwiches to full dinners. And the bar area is well lit. ( I prefer dark & cavey) and nice selection of beer on tap. The building itself has been here as long as the town it sits in. read more

We live close to the white swan, and dine in and call out quite frequently. The prices are fair, the owner, bartenders, and waitresses are always nice, and the food is great as well! I enjoy sitting at the bar with friends or going for a nice dinner. My go to is always the turkey BLT wrap - so good!! read more

Me and some friends went in and were NOT impressed. Servers were playing on phone and we waited a few minutes til.we were acknowledged. Then we see what we presumed was the owner yelling at employees. VERY unprofessional. Then during our meal our server went out for a cigarette and came.back reeking of smoke which grossed us out and unable to.finish our food. Then to make it worse, the women who is the manager was at the bar getting trashed, yet going behind bar to assist and was fairly loud. What establishment allows a MANAGER to hang out and get drunk? It seems they support their employees hanging out and drinking. Food was ok. Not as great as waitress made it out to seem. We will NOT be going back and definitely will NOT be recommending. Overall, it.was a jaw.dropping experience. Oh, and while it was slow, employees could be seen playing on their phone. Especially the one.waitress. everytime.we looked around, she was ALWAYS on her phone. This place needs better management by far!! read more

Wife ordered the grill chicken platter, chicken is kinda blah but the green beans with garlic butter were very good. I ordered the swain burger which was cooked to a perfect medium as I asked. Fries are a $2.25 add on and are definitely not worth it. Had a younger kid as our waiter. He was just to busy with texting then waiting on us. Pretty good. It dies not have the best layout, tends to be a little crowded and slow. The food is really good though for Lititz. Prime rib is nearly perfect, got mine medium rare and my mother got the end piece to be sure it was well-done...literally cooked to perfection. Crab dip was the best I have had! The crabcake is a specialty there and rightfully so, though the bun was a bit stale and store-bought. Tomato bisque was perfectly seasoned, try it! Overall pretty good, probably the best in Lititz right now, better than Scooters and General Sutters! read more

Recently moved to the area and was trying to find some local places to eat. I drove by this restaurant and went on Yelp to check the reviews. My boyfriend and I decided to give it try. We went on a Monday shortly before dinner time. The food was delicious and the service was very friendly and knowledgeable. The other half was not as thrilled with the Nacho Grande appetizer. It seemed ordinary. The beef tip sandwich I had order had great flavor and the onion rings with their special dip was to die for. read more

Had Old Bay Wings and pulled pork and french fries and mushroom swiss burger, it was great! We sat in the bar and our waiter was also the bartender and did a great job at both. Wings were crispy and yummy, pulled pork was a bit spicy but I like that. If you are passing by stop in the lunch special prices are awesome, $6.95! We will be back!!! read more

Went here for dinner and drinks with the parents after we discovered the Bull's Head was too crowded. As someone who grew up in the area and only returns periodically, I was surprised when my parents told me White Swan was a legit eating and drinking establishment and no longer a dive bar. I was very impressed with how the owners have fixed the place up, and the menu they offered. Since we were feeling casual, we just seated ourselves at the bar rather than wait for a table. (Tangent: the bar is made out of broken bottles and is pretty damn cool). The bartenders were friendly and engaging despite what appeared to be a pretty busy evening for them. They made sure our beers kept coming and took good care of us. I ordered the prime rib, with a salad and fries as my sides. I like a salad with or before pretty much every meal, and a lot of my opinion on the meal overall weighs on the salad. Just a weird hangup of mine. Anyways, this particular salad was very good, with fresh cherry tomatoes, onions, good croutons and a sprinkling of shredded cheese. Not a boring salad by any means. We also got a basket of bread with the salads. The bread was disappointing, the rolls seemed like the kind you buy in the bag at Giant, tear apart and throw in a basket when you're in a hurry. But hey, it's only bread. Unfortunately, there was a table of 25 in the restaurant at the same time, and it appeared the kitchen was backlogged bigtime. It took over 45 minutes for our prime rib to arrive. Since the bartenders were very apologetic and taking good care of us with the drinks, it wasn't as big of a deal, but you never want to wait that long for your meal. Fortunately, however, the prime rib was well worth it. The 12 oz. cut was plenty big, and it was juicy and well seasoned. And the fries? They may have been the star of the show. Imagine your favorite fry stand at a local fair or football game (Fink's, anyone?)...they're that good. Glad I opted for them instead of a boring baked potato. The only thing that was missing was a splash of vinegar. Easily the best fries I've had that didn't come from a truck. All things considered, this is a great under the radar addition to the area's dining scene. The atmosphere is great, and I could see this place taking off the way La Piazza has. It'd be a great place to watch the game and enjoy some food and drink. Prices are VERY fair for the quality of the food. Also, it's nice to see a place that does the simple things right, like the fries and the salad. It surprises me how content some places are to serve half-hearted basics sometimes. (Ok, I'll ignore the disappointing bread.) The owners here deserve a pat on the back for the job they did in resurrecting this historic tavern. We'll call it a 4.5/5. I'm trying not to be too liberal in handing out 5 stars. But I will definitely be back when I am in the area again. read more

After many attempts to eat here, I have finally eaten here, twice. Numerous times the wait was too long or reservations were full. The first time, I got the crabcake sandwich. They seem to tout this as a specialty of theirs and I am really not sure why. It barely had any taste and the crab seemed shredded. Certainly not a nice, jumbo lump crab. I will not order that again. The service and food were just so so. On our second visit, (which was a 4:30 Friday dinner start), we were seated immediately and our service was wonderful. I noticed at least 3 people who took care of our needs, one appeared to be an owner/manager. The crowds did roll in about 5pm. The food was good and the prices were fair. I think for the area it is in, the restaurant is doing well. There are not many other good, casual restaurants to choose from. But I think people are settling for that mindset. Head a bit further to Lancaster and the choices are so much better. I was really hoping for a restaurant that would wow us in this area, and we still don't have one. We'll still head to Lancaster more often. It has potential though... read more

Had our anniversary dinner here tonight on a recommendation from a family member. We got there just before the dinner rush so it wasn't very busy. Our server, Lauren, was fantastic - very friendly, attentive without being pushy and great at her job. We sat at a table in the bar area, which was very casual - one of my favorite things about the place was the relaxed, comfortable atmosphere. Started with the crab dip, which was amazing. I am picky about crab dips & up until tonight there was only one restaurant I would typically order it from - that restaurant has been replaced. It's not overly "crabby" or cheesy, there is a really great balance which doesn't leave it so heavy in your stomach. We also got the potato skins with bacon & cheese. You only get 3, but they are big & absolutely packed with bacon - delicious! Moving on to the main course, perfectly cooked medium rare NY strip steak with sauteed mushrooms (fresh, not from a can), a big baked potato & fresh, crispy, lightly seasoned green beans. As we were eating, the chef came out into the dining room & was very gracious when we complimented him on our dinners. For dessert we shared a nice big piece of the chocolate cake with peanut butter icing - cake was so moist & the icing was so smooth & creamy, it was the perfect ending to a great meal. As part of a fundraiser, a group of us (16 in total) went to the Swan last evening. Both the bar and restaurant are very nicely decorated and had that "farm house" cozy feel. The service, food, beer selection and Friday night specials were excellent. At our table we had a few orders of buffalo wraps and the nachos grande. Both were excellent. Our waitress was fantastic. It seemed like every time we turned around she was there asking what else we needed (and it was busy). I would recommend this without a doubt and plan on visiting the Sawn again with the wife and kids. read more
