They don't ever answer the phone and the last two times I tried to get takeout they were not offering it. So much for support local.

We remember when this venue was the General Sutter, so when considering options for a 90th birthday…read morelunch, Lititz Springs Inn filled the bill with availability, reservations and nice ambiance for a special gathering. The handcap ramp out front is STEEP. Be ready to put some muscles to use. Upon entry is a lovely seating area with fireplace. Our table was ready and set up to seat the 12 of us. Our waiter was friendly but was also working several other tables in addition to our large group. Some of us began with cocktails from the adjacent bar. We had some little ones with us who were very well behaved considering their food came out with ours, and none too quickly. My mom, the honoree, was miffed about the length of time it was taking to get drink refills and our food, but I wasnt too bothered. About 2/3rds of us really enjoyed our food. I got the Scottish Egg as an appetizer and it was perfect. My meal was ok, not as tasty as it was described. One of us asked for rare walked through the flame and running red, and he found it overcooked. So it was sent back and removed from our bill. The total was in the mid$300s with gratuity added. Everyone said they enjoyed the meal. The set up of a long table made it difficult to converse but I guess that is to be expected. Parking is on street here in lovely Lititz so the location is on the corner with an attached pub. This was a good choice for a special celebratory lunch and we took some nice group pics in the seating area at the entry.

Food is expensive, and it took a while for us to be seated, despite making reservations long ahead of time. And then another hour of waiting after ordering for dinner to arrive. While the server who attended us was friendly, they didn't check in with us much and we had to keep going to the bar to ask for more water while we talked and waited for our food. Perhaps it was because we were seated in a blind spot, but between the long wait and tiny lukewarm meal (I ordered a shepherd's pie), I was not impressed. The town is a gem though, so I do recommend visiting it. But if you're hungry, you might want to find somewhere else as you may be in for a wait.

Ark House Diner - A hidden Gem in leola with a great atmosphere, friendly service and great food !!!!

The dining room has booths and table seating with tile floors and high pitch ceiling with windows for natural light. The breakfast offerings include eggs, omelets, pancakes, French toast, and oatmeal. The lunch/dinner offerings include sandwiches, burgers, subs, seafood, salads, soups, chili, quesadillas, fried foods, pasta dishes, meatloaf, turkey dinner, chicken dinners, roast beef, pork dishes, and desserts. They offer daily specials too including weekday breakfast & lunch specials I stopped by Ark House on a rainy afternoon. I arrived here and the place wasn't too busy after the lunch rush. I was seated in a booth and given a menu to look at. I requested an ice water and ordered the Shrimp Parm with Spaghetti ($14.99 plus tax) with choice of one side (chose mac & cheese) and garlic toast. The food came out in 12 minutes after I ordered. The portion of food was good which was comprised of 8 breaded jumbo shrimp topped with red sauce & melted cheese with a side of soft cooked spaghetti with a sweet meat sauce. The mac & cheese (orange) was very dense and rich. The thick slices of garlic toast were soft and buttery. After I was done, the check was brought over which was $15.89 with tax and before tip. I paid at the front register. Overall, the food I had was fantastic and I was a bit torn whether to choose a pasta dish or a traditional country homestyle meal. The shrimp parm was very tasty and hot as was the mac & cheese. The service was friendly and adequate. I was glad I stopped here instead of going to a smorgasbord restaurant, which was very packed and pricey. The meal I had at Ark House Diner was pretty reasonable.

They do this mystery beer thing which is just a cheap beer but it's fun and feels on brand for the place. Food wise the beef tips are the move. I would honestly go back just for that. But awesome all the same! For how busy they were, the server was very attentive and very accommodating as we were yapping away and constantly not ready with our orders so kuddos for the team and putting up with us! I love the mystery beer concept, its not great beer, but being from DC at like $2 a can, I am not passing that up, ever. And a cheap beer with a burger is the perfect combo! On to the burger... I have heard that this is a great burger... and I have to conclude that I agree though it is reminiscent of a Big Mac - just way better ingredients - it has to be the sauce they put on it... Anyway, nice size patty, good amount of toppings and a quality bun (not too soft, not too thick, bread soaks up some of the juices but doesn't fall apart). The mussels were quite excellent as well. It was a Thai curry broth the night we were there and it was drinkable, like soup... we did ask for extra bread... enough said. I am going to take a minute too and praise their spirit free cocktails. THIS IS HOW THEY SHOULD BE MADE. They used bitters, tonics, etc to craft something that tasted like a cocktail but without alcohol which means they were not sickly sugary concoctions, but expertly crafted beverages. Just really great options. All that said though, their espresso martini was one of the worst I have had. Just skip that.
