I was in the area and Spriggs came up as as a local fave. I stopped by for take out. I loved the pleasant & laid back vibes as I entered. The place is beautiful, great styling and everyone looked so delighted to be there as they lunched on the terrace or they dined inside. I was greeted warmly by the hostess at the register. Other staffers smiled and held the door for me as I left after grabbing my food. The meal was great. We had fish tacos and the lasagna. Great portions, thoughtful packaging for take out orders, , nice price point. The portions were generous and the flavors were nice. Both of us who ordered wished the food had a bit more salt and flavor, but overall it was a great meal and the short experiences from ordering on the phone to enjoying their food- we're all pleasant and charming. read more

Wait staff is the best, food is amazing! It's a treasure to have in our backyard!! We get here around once a month and love it!

I was really craving a steak so I decided on Momma Spriggs for dinner while I was in town for work. I got the mozzarella planks for an app, really big and cheesy. For my entree, I got the oak sirloin and double mashed potatoes instead of veggies. This steak was cooked perfectly and like in the name, it has a unique flavor from being aged in an oak barrel. The mashed potatoes were also fantastic. I got carrot cake to go which I enjoyed in my hotel. It does have nuts, and I do prefer carrot cake without nuts, but other than that it was delicious! read more

The bartender made our day! Outstanding personality! Very knowledgeable about sports too!

Lunchtime visit. Shared a club sandwich with the homemade chips and a crab pretzel. The club was packed with lots of meat (maybe more than we even needed). The chips were fresh and crispy. The crab dip on the pretzel had a great flavor but not a ton of crab. The pretzel itself was a little underwhelming. Service was good. The restaurant itself is very dinerish. We would return to try out some of the other sandwiches and salads. read more

Went on a first date at this place. This food is good meets your expectations and I've eaten outside both visits. It's good here but like nothing stands out to make it great or memorable. Staff is generally nice too. Would recommend trying at least once! read more

I made reservations for 11 family members, and we chose Momma Spriggs because of its convenient location--about midway between those of us in Western Pennsylvania and others from the Philadelphia area. We considered many different options, but ultimately selected Momma Spriggs for their spacious dining room and ample outdoor seating. When we arrived, the parking lot and dining room were packed, but the staff had thoughtfully prepared a space for our group. The service was fantastic--friendly, efficient, and attentive. Everyone was pleased with their food choices, and we were all impressed by the quality and variety offered. We couldn't be happier with our decision to dine at Momma Spriggs. It was the perfect place for our family gathering! read more

Amazing food and service! All of the food is excellent. Their carrot cake is awesome. I know people who don't like carrot cake but like their cake at Momma Spriggs. I can't wait for our next visit. A+ recommendation! read more

Service was fast. It could be cleaner--tables were sticky. We had burgers. They were big and tasty!

Definitely wouldn't recommend. The owners picked on my autistic child and the food was really bad and made my whole family's stomach hurt after going to the restroom. Please save your money because this place is a waste of your time. read more

Food seems to be processed. Fresh organic recipes should replace what's currently on the menu.

This is my second time here and the first time for Jenni. The restaurant is nice and appears fancy but the food is moderately priced and includes simple fare like cheeseburgers and also more expensive items like crab cakes and steaks. I had crab cakes and Jenni had the Oak Barrel Sirloin. My cakes were great and Jenni loved her steak; she gave me a couple pieces and I loved her steak, too. We didn't think the salads were great because, although pretty, they were small and skimpy. I remembered this from my first visit. I would rate our experience as 3.5 stars because my crab cakes were good and our server, Breonna, was super friendly and checked on us at a good frequency. Jenni agrees about the excellent service but felt her steak earned 4.5 stars so I'm averaging the rating for 4.0 stars. read more

An upscale diner with great comfort food , served in a pleasant atmosphere with good service.

We've eaten here probably a half dozen times, and have never, ever had a bad experience at Momma Spriggs, from the hostess seating us to the wait staff to the food! And they serve the best carrot cake in the area hands down ;) read more

Local, casual cafe in Carlisle, PA. Momma Sprigs is open for lunch & dinner and serves basic American fare: Salads, burgers sandwiches, entrees (pasta, seafood, chicken. steak). Momma's is fairly large, with 160 seats including indoor and outdoor seating. It looked like there was a small private room for events. We all enjoyed our food. The chicken wings were tasty and crispy. I ordered the Parrot Head salad with grilled chicken. I love all the ingredients. It could have used more of the fruit toppings and the candied almonds were slivers and virtually undetectable. Service was friendly and efficient. If I return to Carlisle, this would definitely be a stop! read more

I'm not sure where to start. We did get seated right away as we were there for the Carlisle Spring Show. As a party of 7 The apps seemed okay but that's were it ended 4 out of our 7 couldn't eat their dinner. As a waitress stopped by several times and noticed that no one touched their meals, but didn't bother to ask how they were. I finally decided to say something only as constructive criticism that the turkey dinner that I had was not edible to that point the waitress was very taken back. They did comp my meal at our party will never I mean never be back. read more

I've been here a few times when I'm in the area. I enjoy it every time I come here. The service is friendly, and the food is good.

Momma Spriggs is a pretty busy place, so my party made arrangements to be there early, before it got crowded. Service was excellent. But we each ordered a salad and it took a long time to get them. When the salads came, they were good, they just took longer than expected. I splurged on dessert and it was delicious. It seems like a nice place to hang out, but I was conscious of the crowd coming in after us. read more

Such a cool spot for a nice dinner. Great atmosphere, service, and the food is top notch! Don't skip desert either.

My wife and I ate there Friday evening early to avoid the rush. The food was beyond delicious. I had a variation on fish and chips - but a general portion of fish and delicious stewed tomatoes, plus macaroni and cheese. My wife had two crabcakes. Both meals were delicious and the server could not have been nicer. We plan to eat there one night next week again, although it is probably at least 15 miles from our house in Enola. read more

I wish we'd come to try this gem of a restaurant long ago! We arrived after 6pm on a July Saturday, were greeted warmly and seated immediately despite it being full of patrons. I had been afraid we'd have to wait for a table as the parking lot was quite full (though we had no trouble parking.) Our friendly waitress, Chelsey, was very attentive and professional. She brought out the fresh bread and butter and my husband ate it all. I ordered the NY Strip and Maryland-Style Crab cake with green beans and sweet potato fries. My husband ordered the Prime Rib with baked potato and green beans. Our food was cooked perfectly. Seriously, our steaks were melt-in-your-mouth delicious. My husband ordered the Cherry Cheesecake for dessert and ate every last crumb. Scrumptious! The atmosphere of Momma Spriggs gives you a back-home-at-your-Moms feeling and it's full of conversation but not too loud. We could speak to each other at normal levels. The decor is warm and inviting, the lighting is aplenty and warm. We look forward to returning soon! Highly recommend! read more

Food was great. It was on a Friday so the wait was long. Waitress was nice. Beef tips and mashed potatoes was very good

Amazing food! Great Service. Nice ambience. Not too loud. I'm a consistent customer and always will come back. It's a great casual restaurant when you want something a little nicer than a chain, like olive garden or chilis, at a similar price. Must try's: Mozzarella sticks, Crab pretzel, and any desserts!!! read more

Prime rib, mashed potatoes, and clam chowder was fanfreakingtastic!!!! The meatloaf, mashed potatoes and steamed broccoli was delicious as well. This place is a MUST visit. The service was delightful and helpful in helping pick between so many good choices. We sat outside and the ambiance was cozy. One of my new favorite places. Wish they served alcohol, but it is BYOB. Waitress's name was Brandi and she is amazing. Ask for her if you stop in. read more

Never have had a bad meal whether dining in or doing take out for our work crew. My wife is a fan of the mozzarella planks.

Can't say that I loved it. Picked based on reviews. Plenty of parking. (Unlike some places in Carlisle) plenty of seating. Service was great! But food was just super American traditional. I got a Cuban. Bad idea. I grew up in Miami. But pork wasn't great. There was plenty. Bread wasn't buttered. (Or didn't seem to be) desserts looked fantastic. If you like meatloaf and Turkey you should go! read more

Nice lunch, lovely restaurant, helpful and friendly staff and enjoyable experience. Don't hesitate to stop by.

Thoroughly enjoyed our dinner here. Great food great service - I was very pleased with the "mozzarella planks" - they literally are planks much larger than other moz appetizers I've had. My steak was perfect - very busy on a Thursday- nice place to enjoy a wonderful meal. read more

Met family up here for an early dinner while on travel for work. They've been coming here for years, and its obvious that the staff know their regulars by name. They normally don't take reservations for groups less than 6, but we needed a wheelchair accessible table, and they were happy to hold one for our group. Prompt service, the bread on the table is pretty tasty--has a very doughy taste if that makes any sense. The menu is decent--sandwiches, salads, pastas, and different protein-based entrees. The beet salad was a special, and I had to try it. Right away, I was impressed with the number of shrimp. Usually when you add shrimp on to a meal, you get 5-6 shrimp. Here, it was at least double that. The salad was solid and satisfying, with candied walnuts, cheese, and pickled eggs under a balsamic vinaigrette that came on the side without me even having to ask! Seems like that's their standard which is nice. I hadn't noticed the dessert case on my way in, but the rest of the family did and they had already decided that we were ordering dessert. I got the chocolate cake with peanut butter frosting, while the table also got the carrot cake and bailey's cheesecake. The peanut butter frosting was so light and whipped on the cake, which helped balance how heavy peanut butter can feel at times. The cake was extremely moist and rich--I was in heaven. I also stole a bite of the cheesecake--subtle hint of bailey's with a chocolate crust on the bottom. It was fine, but never would have been my first choice. While we ate inside (and it was quite chilly with the AC blasting) they did have ample outdoor seating also available in front of and behind the restaurant. It was really filling up as we left, so its obviously a neighborhood favorite. read more

Stopped here for dinner after a long day at the GAOS in Harrisburg. Looked at Yelp for the legit customer reviews and decided to stop. This place was fantastic. The service was excellent. Asked what was the local favorite and the waitress rattled off just about everything on the menu. Started off with the pretzel that was covered in crab dip. 10 out of 10. They don't skimp on the dip. Perfect size for 2 people to share. One of our party had the half chicken and another got the bacon pork chops. I got the steak and cake. NY strip cooked perfectly medium rare and seasoned well. It came with a nice sized crab cake that was outstanding. I was planning to get dessert but was stuffed. The cost for everything came to $86. That's cheaper than a family trip to 5 Guys burgers. Definitely will be my go to spot in Carlisle. read more

Salad was mediocre at best. Chicken was unseasoned and overcooked, berries were beyond their useful life -- soft and mushy. Had clam chowder that had zero clam taste whatsoever. On top of the mediocre food, I left an item at the restaurant, called to confirm they had it, then returned a few days later (they are closed Sunday and Monday) to be told they did not have it. Given where they keep their lost and found stuff, only way it could have vanished would be if an employee pilfered it. Adding to my disillusionment, no apology or mea culpa of any sort. Would not go there again if it were free and offered rebates. read more

Fast and friendly service. Chicken quesadilla was good. Got the Chesapeake chicken for dinner and it was really good. The crab cake on top had lots of flavor and the chicken was tender. Had the chocolate peanut butter cake for dessert and it is rich but so delicious. The cake was moist and the peanut butter frosting was so tasty. We shared between two people but it can be shared with four if you don't want to feel completely stuffed at the end. Overall really good and will be coming back. read more
