Crab eggs Classic Benedict

Very nice ambiance and great service. The inside is very clean and the food is soooo good! I got a crab eggs Benedict off the brunch menu and my husband got the lasagna. We got a non alcoholic drink and it was super yummy and fruity! Very highly recommend going here!

I have been to the Local a couple times and have had great meals. Yes, the prices are high but you see the high quality ingredients, intense flavors, and great service. The highlight was my meal -- short rib pot pie. The sauce was rich and complex and like nothing I've eaten before. I hope they have this dish forever. My friends thoroughly enjoyed their dishes as well, the salmon dish and the shrimp and crab linguine looked amazing. Desserts and drinks were also ridiculously good. Could not finish it all. We'll be back for sure. Save and splurge at the Local.

Finally! A restaurant that is welcoming and has tasty food. Our servers name was Jordan. She was an absolute delight. She provided us a history of the restaurant and offered guidance on the food and drink. We all ordered The Local. A beautiful looking smash burger with fresh ingredients, onion, lettuce and tomatoes. It came with addicting shoe string fries. I also ordered the recommended shaken strawberry lemonade. Light and refreshing. Looking forward to coming back to try the other food.

Had an awesome time. Went there doing the day to get some work done and relax and I did just that. The establishment was clean and well-kept and the customer service was awesome. I didn't order food this time around, but I will next time .

So I decided to give the local a try again for brunch with my mini me, and I'm so glad I did. It was amazing, from the service to the ambiance and of course the food. I got the chicken and waffles. The chicken was perfectly crispy outside and juicy inside. The waffle seemed to have maple flavor infused in it and it was the perfect texture. The hot sauce and gravy topped it off nicely. My daughter got the sausage and gravy and she said it was perfect. She also got a side of sausage links and I tried one - best sausage links I've ever had. I also had a fig cocktail which was perfectly sweet and had a nice hint of rosemary. Our server was great too. Overall a great brunch experience.

Hubby & I enjoyed our time here for a quick & great oyster getaway! Ambience was nice. I enjoyed our private table in the corner. Note this is The Local at the Avenue. The one on Belair Rd I've not yet been to as they sometimes close between lunch & dinner so call before you go.

We experienced the Sunday brunch here last weekend. This restaurant shares the same lot as Dunkin Donuts and Waffle House. The parking lot is tight. But there is parking. They have indoor and outdoor seating. The seating also includes in the bar or dining area. The staff was nice and present, it did take a little while for our food to come out. They have a decent menu for brunch including mimosas, bloody Mary's and espresso martinis. If you're not into breakfast they do have some sandwich options such as the hot Italian, and a turkey sub. We enjoyed the hot Italian with fries. It was a big sandwich! I had the eggs Benedict and it was okay but very bland, not really any seasoning. Overall it was a nice experience and inexpensive for two people during brunch!

I'm not sure where to begin. By far, the BEST service I've received in this area (Wolfgang Puck's restaurant in Hawaii would compare) We came in here on a whim for our Anniversary to try the Tomahawk steak and couldn't have been happier. The environment was homey with comfortable seating and a lot of home photos. We were seated with Stacie who immediately welcomed us, explained the menu, told us the specials, and cracked some jokes. She really made us feel at home and gave us sufficient time to review the menu in case we wanted to try anything else. We did decide on the Tomahawk and she let us know it would be 45 minutes but she would keep us updated and it would be carved table side. We elected to try the deviled eggs which she recommended and explained to us that the breading and sauce were the same used in the Buttermilk Chicken Sando. These eggs were FIRE! I told her I would be coming back to try the sandwich, and think it would be awesome with the deviled egg filling on top! Next up, she gave us some cornbread since we still had a while to wait and it was a perfect intermission! She kept us updated every so often and made sure our drinks stayed full. She would stop by to check on us or make general conversation. Finally she said the Tomahawk was on the way! I asked if I could video and she said they love it! The steak melted in our mouths and was cooked and seasoned perfectly. Everything we ate was just delicious. The experience was truly bar none and the food was absolutely amazing. I would eat here again and hope I could get Stacie back! I did listen to the other servers while we were waiting and they all seemed to be amazing. I know others on here feel this place is on the pricey side, however I did some research on the cost of a Tomahawk before we came in and I'm satisfied with what we spent. This definitely has more upscale vibes with the service and food but you won't feel out of place if you dine in jeans!

We had an amazing dinner start to finish here! We sat at the bar area at a high top and the vibes were awesome. The service was great and server was super helpful. From espresso martinis to beef Wellington, everything here was great. The drink and wine selection was also perfect for our family night out. Would definitely come back!

Cream of crab soup

The guy was working in the area and we decided to have lunch! It was my day off! We noticed The Local previously when we stopped at The Waffle House which is right next to The Local! This place is described as elevated comfort food! It is quaint but very inviting! We sat at a high top bar table and ordered food!! Ps, we were served by a very nice young lady! I ordered the watermelon salad, and cream of crab soup! My guy ordered grilled oysters and the short rib grilled sandwich initially! The crab soup and salad was fire! However, the chargrilled oysters was ok! I've had better! My guy did not like his sandwich and our server was very quick to replace it! It was replaced with the crab cake sandwich which he did like! The Local was a very nice experience! I enjoyed the food and location! Fallston is far but if I'm in the area again, I may stop in!

I cannot express enough about the fantastic experience my Husband and I had last night for our 37th Anniversary!! First time there, will not be the last!!! From the welcome greeting at the door, promptly seated, and overall such a great vibe!! Our server Erin was right there, recognizing our anniversary and as soon as she knew it was our first time there, went right into the story behind "The Local" which you just need to experience yourself!!! Our cocktails were amazing, our appetizers Spanish Octopus and Chargrilled Oysters were the bomb and yes, we had to partake in one of their signatures, the Beef Wellington, was absolutely out of this world!!! Oh!!! And the creamed corn side? We could have made a meal off of that!! Not to mention the cornbread and jalapeño butter they give you pretty much as soon as you sit down!! Melt in your mouth!! Everyone there was so accommodating, so nice, this dining experience went way beyond our expectations. Quote from my husband "This is the best meal I've had out in a long, long, long time" Do yourself a favor and GO!!!!!

Stopped here for dinner on a Saturday night while traveling back home…read more They have a bar area, open kitchen, and a variety of seating options. I was sat in a booth, and ordered an iced tea and a water. I decided to try 2 personal specialty pizzas - the rustic and the Neapolitan. The neopolitan is more of a Margherita - with sauce, mozz cheese and basil. It was good - but seemed a little off with the taste. May have been the sauce - still serviceable. The rustic was a standard sauce and cheese with cup pepperoni and small ricotta balls. I liked this one a lot - flavors were very good. I wanted to try the coal fired blueberry crisp but had to run sooner than I wanted to. My waitress (taller, thin girl) was very nice and attentive. Would recommend trying here.

Fabulous restaurant for a great pizza with very kind and friendly service. They play nice music and…read moreit is family friendly (not too loud). I had the barbecue chicken pizza and my waitress recommended adding pineapple (my favorite pizza topping). The pizza didn't disappoint.. It was the best I've had that wasn't a frozen bbq chicken pizza!!it was generous on the chicken but they came in slices. Flavorful and good. I'd like to see the chicken in smaller pieces throughout and even more BBQ. My hubs had the jambalaya pizza - a great combination of spice and flavor, the jalapeños add an extra flavor to the already flavorful shrimp and sausage. This pizza is packed with ingredients and will fill you up quickly. Would love to see them (and most other local restaurants) improve the quality and caliber of their wine offerings, but I digress :)

Service is good and they are very attentive. Our water glasses were never empty. Server very well acquainted with the menu and they even have specials off the menu. Menu doesn't have tons of choices, but makes sense when everything is prepared fresh and what is on the menu is done extremely well. First, drinks... yum! They have a terrific happy hour deal. That is worth a visit on its own. It's pretty spectacular and the drinks are great. The good news is you can get the HH without sitting at the bar. We had an Old Fashion, a Lemon Raspberry Martini, a Lemon Drop martini, a Sidecar, and a Carajillo. All were well made and delicious. The Carajillo was amazing - better than an espresso martini!! The food was wonderful. First course was the Baked Avocado, Cream of Crab soup, and the mussels which weren't on the regular menu as they were a special. The Avocado was fabulous and not too heavy. The mussels were in a delicious broth. Cream of crab was good but not worth the $21 a bowl (just average as you would get anywhere else). Second course was Filet Mignon, Shrimp and Crab, and House Made Pork Sausage Pappardelle. All were delicious and served with sides that elevated the flavors. The filet is a fav! The portions were a great dinner size and not overwhelmingly huge. We skipped dessert, but they were all great choices. We had previously had their s'mores which is a must try! They do have good coffee as well. Great location, intimate setting, nice people and a wonderful place to visit for a wonderful meal. Worth visiting. Be prepared as they are pricey (over $300 for 4 people). It's odd because their Happy Hour is just such a steal for the craft cocktails available (I guess gets you in the door). Perhaps sit at the bar for HH and just get drinks for a reasonable option. Maybe throw in a charcuterie board to snack on while enjoying the libations. For sure will be back.

They have a small menu, but sometimes that's nice not having to make so many decisions and usually that means the courses are quite good. I ordered the peartini, which was good but didn't have strong pear flavor. They brought out bread with our starters (3 pieces for 2 people - I never understand that!) which was tasty and my salad course was delicious. My husband really liked his soup too! For our entrees, he got the filet mignon which he said was excellent, but my shrimp and crab with gnocchi dish was disappointing. I think the sauce broke so it was swimming in oil. I tried to eat the pieces off the top and the shrimp were huge and gnocchi very soft and flavorful, but I couldn't get over the amount of oil. For dessert, he got the crème brûlée which he enjoyed and I got the s'mores. Mine was good, but the chocolate was very thick and heavy. I was hoping for a lighter mousse to end my meal instead. Overall we had a nice time and enjoyed our date night out, but I think the food is a bit inconsistent.
