My mom and I stopped in for lunch on a Saturday. We were seated right away and started off with the mozzarella kabobs. They were good but the sizing was inconsistent as some pieces were super tiny. For entrees, we ordered a chicken caesar salad and a short rib grilled cheese. The salad was very small; it was more aligned with the size of a side salad. The short rib grilled cheese was good and was a decent size. Overall it was an ok visit, thinking maybe we visited on an off day as so many others rave about this place. read more

The customer service at Steelefish Grill is horrible. I made reservations on May 26th. Some of my friends had family members in the band so it was very important to me to sit as close to the band as possible. That is why I made the reservations 8 weeks ago. It was so important to me that I confirmed the reservations 3 times with the emphasis on being as close to the band as possible all 3 times. In fact, the hostess said on May 26th, that I could sit as close as I wanted. That didn't happen. When I got to the restaurant, my table was near the back of the patio. I expressed my disappointment and the owner pretty much said that I had a wonderful table and I should be happy. Because I expressed my opinion about the seating and the owner's refusal to help resolve the problem on social media, I was made to leave. The owner's husband said that it was f'ed up that I put stuff on social media and I stayed to listen to the band. It didn't matter to him that I was eating food from his restaurant. Steelefish Grill will never be a good restaurant until they respect the needs of their customers. read more

Wife and I recently had dinner here. I ordered the blackened grouper and it was delicious. As usual , the food is not my main complaint. We were seated in a booth with seats as hard as a jailhouse. My other complaint is common to many restaurants. The waitress takes the order but it is served from a scroungy looking individual from the kitchen. I am giving this review based on my experience on Valentine's Day. I usually always enjoy coming here but on this day as a day to be with a lover you do not expect rudeness from someone working. It was not directed to myself, my partner nor any guest. The older hostess was standing out in the middle of the dining area screaming and disrespecting their wait staff about who has what tables. There is a better way to go about it, privately possibly? But this was just so rude and embarrassing for the staff and uncomfortable for the guests. Years ago this was our 'go to' spot for good food, drinks and outside seating. We stopped going after a number of bad experiences. We decided to try it tonight for the first time in almost a year. Very disappointing. The rockfish bites were surprisingly small. We would get these every time. The jumbo scallops were very small and the overall look of the dish was unappealing. Even my 11-year-old said 'what is that?!' Every dish was disappointing. The service was good. Food was not. We were hoping for a better outcome. Everything from service to food is always amazing. Just a recommendation to maybe train a little better especially the younger waiters to have a little more knowledge of the menu and time managment. Took my son there for lunch and everything was fantastic especially the waiter. Took a very long time to get our drinks intially and refills (was a slow afternoon). I always get the tuna app (bc its bomb) didnt get the opportunity to give a temperature so it was quite rare for my taste. Never brought silverware, plates or napkins until i had to ask the food runner before he left. End of the day the guy was amazing personality wise and was left well over 20% bc he really was great. The food is decent. The wait staff is good too. Honestly, the worst thing about this place is their availability. They close basically whenever they feel like it... The hours listed... 11pm. Lmao, I've been by the place at 945 and they were closed. Twice I've tried to get something to eat around 8pm and they have already closed the kitchen. It's sad really cuz the venue is incredible, but they will actually tell people they are closing when there's a band playing. Really nice seaside looking restaurant that you would find on the water. We were seated at the bar our normal place to sit, very nice bartender and knew her cocktails. They have a Bar both indoor and out & have a variety of seating options (booth, high tables). We arrived early for lunch-11:30 and although quiet it picked up pretty quickly. I started with a cup of the Cream of Crab Soup-thick, rich with lump crab & was perfect on a rainy day. For main, I ordered the Seafood Club which comes with the house chips. Massive sandwich with their Sunset Shrimp & Crabcake. The Sunset Sauce takes it over the top! The BLT was also ordered and enjoyed. We've also tried the Crabby fries & SFG nachos both excellent and favorites! From start to finish the Service is always upbeat & excellent. We went here for a quick dinner. I ordered the rockfish wrap, and cream of crab soup while hubby ordered the crab quesadilla and a side of fries. For drinks we order lemonade and the strawberry peach , and blueberry crushes. The rockfish wrap I ordered was awesome, the fish maintained it's crunch and the flavor was great. It came with a side of potato salad in which really couldnt enjoy because there was no silverware brought to our table, napkins or anything except my spoon inside of my crab soup. The corn inside added a different flavor but it was definitely good. My crab soup also had hardly any crab in it. Hubby's quesadilla should've been called a chicken chesapeake, it had bits on chicken on it(our surprise) , and could barely taste the crab dip. The flavor was good. I'm standing there for a min before says how are you but too busy to look up from his phone. I had dinner here recently while visiting family who lives nearby. We had a nice dinner. Good food, good service. We got seated right away. Looks like a fun place to get a nice meal or watch a game. We started with the SFG NACHOS: Nacho cheese (we held this), cheddar cheese, onions, tomatoes, grilled corn and jalapeños with grilled chicken. These were tasty. Lots of nice toppings, loved the melted cheese. I had the STEELEFISH salad: shrimp, mixed greens, candied walnuts, craisins, crumbled goat cheese with balsamic glaze and balsamic vinaigrette on the side. Also of my favorite toppings. The shrimp were nicely grilled and had a good flavor. The dressing was tasty. A good sized portion as well. My cousin's wife had the HOUSE salad: Mixed field greens, Applewood bacon, tomatoes, corn, red onions, cheddar jack cheese and croutons.  My cousin had some sort of wrap. He enjoyed it. Not sure why this policy is in place, but they now charge 3.00 extra on your bill if you order carry out. When I asked about it, the person on the phone said that they have had this in place for some time now. I guess I haven't ordered carry out in a while. I'm confused though, I'm not asking for delivery or sitting in the restaurant. I'm actually driving to pick up my order. Yet I'm being charged extra because I won't sit in the restaurant to eat? I can order carry out at other places and not be charged extra. Im sure that there's a reason for charging people for driving to pick up their order, but I'm not a fan of this policy. read more

Horrible horrible experience! Unprofessional and unreliable. I made a reservation for 25 people on 2/24/25, and received a text confirming my reservation which was for 3/29/25 at 3PM. I received a call on 3/38 at 8:15 PM asking me to move my reservation up, despite the original time being confirmed one month prior. I agreed. I received a call back at 9 PM stating they could not accommodate my party and therefore were cancelling my reservation. I stated that this was unacceptable and asked to have a manager or the owner call me. But instead of calling the owner texted me, and proceeded to tell me that I did not make my reservation. Once I showed her proof of her employer sending a text confirming my reservation, she proceeded to say that there was an issue with the restaurant, and that cancellations happen and I cannot "force my reservation". Again I asked the owner to call me and they stated they were too busy. So unprofessional. I will never go to Steelefish again! All around poor service and communication! read more

We went here with a bunch of our family, I would say roughly 30 people. Our waitress was amazing. I don't know how she could keep track of all our orders including all the other patrons in her section. She was attentive and sweet. She is what has brought up this review from a three to a four. If it was just based on her alone it would be five stars. I was excited to try their version of a taco salad. I got it with the Guacamole dressing. It was so sad when it was presented. I mean look at the picture. The ground meat is charred and had absolutely no seasoning which means no flavor. The guacamole dressing lacked any guacamole flavor. The whole salad was such a huge disappointment I couldn't even finish it. I guess I'm spoiled with the west coast taco salads. My wife's grouper sandwich was delicious. Her only complaint was the potato salad it comes with had no salt and bell peppers in it. Why??? They don't belong in a potato salad. I will come back just because the sandwich was good and I'll order it with fries. I'm willing to give them another chance. Save your money and go elsewhere. The best part of my meal was the soup of the day (beer cheese soup). My boyfriend and I each got a cup of soup; I ordered the beer cheese soup and he had the cream of crab. Then we had the calamari. Finally for our entrees, I had the grouper pasta and he had the fried shrimp platter. Everything was lacking in seasoning and our main entrees were room temperature at best. Our poor server was the only one serving the bar and the tables around the bar. This review is in no way saying she did poorly, she was trying her best! BLUF: good food and service. Nice outdoor seating. Went with 3 others on a Saturday evening. We had a reservation, but there were a couple of tables free even if we didn't. Still a pretty full house. We had a variety of apps, including calamari, grouper bites, and mussels. They all tasted great, but frankly the portions for the bites and calamari were on the small side. Also, the mussels only came with a few small pieces of bread, and all that great sauce at the bottom of the bowl went to waste because we had nothing with which to soak it up. For main course we had crab cakes and grouper. It was all delicious. The crab cakes had some good-sized chunk of crab, and even though mine was supposed to be a sandwich it was so good I just ate it plan, even w/o any sauce. I've had better, but I've definitely had many more that were worse. It came with a (very) small side of potato salad, which was good but sure would've been better with a few bites more. The grouper was perfectly cooked and delicious. We were too full to try desserts. We sat in outdoor seating, as the night was unseasonably warm. That's probably not going to be possible for much longer, although they do have propane heaters. Sitting outside was nice. They have live music until about 7 pm. read more

Very disappointed, went there for my mother's 83rd Birthday. There was 16 of us, with family from out of town. After paying the 720.00 bill, the manager abruptly came over and said that we needed to either go to the bar area or leave he wanted the tables, I counted 6 empty tables around us. My mother can not sit at a high top table in bar area. We were not there for an extended time.
