We were making our way home from New Jersey to Silver Spring Maryland avoiding the traffic on 95, coming down Route 40 and wanted to stop for dinner. We found town Grill and pub on Yelp and, based on the positive reviews, decided to give it a try. When we arrived, we found it to be a small place located in a shopping center. When we walked in, it was a lively atmosphere with friends, sharing a meal and drinks at the tables and people enjoying their drinks and food at the bar watching college football games. We seated ourselves at a table and were immediately greeted by a young man who brought us over menus and water. I ordered a draft beer, which my husband told me was made in Maryland, and I love local beer! It was delicious. Since I can't have wings right now, I ordered their chicken fingers, which you can have tossed in a variety of sauces. Both my husband and I chose chicken fingers with honey Old Bay sauce. He got his with fries and I got a creamy crab soup. When the soup came out, the young man came back and asked if the soup was hot. It was slightly warm and he told me that wouldn't do and he took it back to the kitchen and brought it back when it was popping hot. The soup was nice and thick like I like it and flavored with old bay. While I like Old Bay, it was quite strong and a little bit spicy for me. My husband finished it off. As for the chicken fingers, I got the basket of five, and the sauce was just perfect. It was sweet with a hint of Old Bay. The chicken fingers were perfectly cooked, nice and moist. And the breading wasn't overpowering. We both loved our meals and agreed that this restaurant would have to go on our favorites list so we can go back anytime we're in the area. Besides the great service, fun atmosphere, and excellent service, this is a very reasonably priced place. I've been a regular pretty much since you opened several years back. The outdoor patio and bar are nice. The wings are fantastic. The burger and cheesesteak sub and fries are incredibly good. You had a nice selection of vegan meals which were taken away because they weren't selling. Such a shame. The vegan wings and meatballs were delicious. Two ways to improve: get the nail salon next door to move so you can expand like Larry and Linda were aiming for before they retired; get a better selection of draught beer, or add more taps. This place is the epitome of a local bar. Bar tender was great, friendly, attentive, gave recommendations on food. The bar itself is very well decorated, they have a cute little patio out back with tables and a booth to sit out. From what I could see there is a space for an outside bar setup. I will be checking that out when the weather is nicer. We ordered the pretzel app, Italian sub and buffalo chicken wrap. Both our sandwiches came with fried. The fries were so good! I hate it when you get frozen under seasoned fries. These were not that! The buffalo chicken wrap I subbed blue cheese instead of ranch. It was flavorful and I would order again. The Italian sub was good from what the BF said, mayo, hots, no lettuce, tomato, onion. Which is the way an Italian should be eaten, IMO. The bread was really good. Would I go back? Yes! Cute little place with a small dining room and bar. We sat on the back patio area which has nice decor, but the table was wobbly. I didn't like that people could smoke out there because we could smell the smoke even though we were sitting away from them. The food was really good and I like that tots are an option over fries. The fried pickles were excellent. Service was pretttttty slow considering it was a week night. My friend's husband was sitting inside watching the game and eating and told us he was going to order additional food to go, but decided not to because his server was not very attentive and they didn't want to wait any longer. Hopefully they can make some minor improvements to the wait staff, I'd love to see them stay in business as a local restaurant. read more

Decided to try the cheesesteaks as they are $2 off on Tuesday's. The roll was definitely a premium roll and the rest of the cheesesteak was average. The roll overwhelmed the meat a bit. More meat and it would have been better. One minor complaint, the menu says I should have gotten a pickle spear. I was disappointed to not find one. Also as is common in this runaway economy prices posted on menus aren't the prices charged. I asked for a tael out menu and was directed to their website. It said $13. Menu on the counter said $14. I was charged $13.17 after my $2 off. No matter how I crunch the numbers I can't make it add up lol. If I were there for the bar this cheesesteak would be fine (especially after a few beers) but for carry out there are some better options nearby. read more

Ok, I live to eat crab cakes. So I ordered the crabcakes here and I couldn't believe how good they were! Another reviewer said they were tennis ball sized and made out of crabmeat and not fillers (It was the reason I came) and they were 100% correct! These cakes were just delicious! The meal comes with 2 of these monsters and I got a (huge) side salad and mashed w gravy. Everything was fabulous! For $19. 95 no less - every day! Definitely time to update this review, when I originally wrote it they were just a fast food joint! They have since changed their name (same owner), expanded, and received a liquor license. This is the first real bar Joppatowne has gotten outside of the VFW. The food is good, especially the pot roast sandwich, and pretty decent pizza and good cheesesteak subs. Game day specials for all Orioles and Ravens games. A nice local place to hang for the evening! read more

Read a bunch of positive local reviews for this place and after a day of completing the Christmas decorations, decided to give it a try to keep from having to cook. Varied menu, but decided to try the crab cakes. Two amply sized golden brown crab cakes (about the size of a tennis ball) that looked a tasted to be nothing but seasoned crab meat. Very tasty and a positive departure from the lump crab cake that most provide, that are half filler and kind of undercooked tasting... they reminded me of the crab cakes mom used to make. Got a double order of coleslaw to go with it, and it was fresh and crisp shredded... not that ground up stuff out of a bucket, again homemade quality. Two great crab cakes and two sides for $20... can't beat that. I drive past Towne Grill & Pub on the way to the grocery store all the time and it is always busy, and now I am beginning to understand why. I'll be back. read more

This place is no longer Grill Sensations, but Towne Pub and Grill. It's different looking inside, and is a bar with sit down areas. It also does take out and delivery. I have been 3 times...once to hang out at the bar - small selection on tap, just about 12 seats, but prices were more than reasonable. During O's games there are cheap Natty Boh's and other discounts on drinks and appetizers. Service was fine. Second time I went to sit down for dinner on a Saturday night. They were full, but we had no problem finding a table. Service was relatively quick. I had the chicken cheesesteak which was amazing. My boyfriend had the fish and chips - which were breaded, not battered and fried. The fish was really tender, the breading was light and it was seasoned well. The O's game was on, so we had a nacho and cheese appetizer for 3 bucks. The prices are certainly reasonable. The only negative so far is that it's in the ghetto Joppa shopping plaza. The flea market, dollar store, and other vacant buildings kind of detract from the atmosphere walking in. Oh well, it's still very close to home so I'm used to it. Third time I did carry out and got the regular cheesesteak and my boyfriend had the bleu cheese burger. Both were awesome and huge. Order was ready when I showed up, and hot when I got home. Towne Grill & Pub makes me want to move down to the pits of Joppa just so I can be within walking distance of it's awesomeness. The food is incredible. Hubs and I struggled for a long time to find a decent lunch place. It takes me 15 minutes to get here from work, leaving me only 30 minutes to eat and run. More often than not, the food is delivered quick enough to get me back to work with a minute to spare. We try to meet at least once a week and it's the best 30 minutes of my day. I love the wings and the crab dip french bread especially. The wings are well seasoned (you can actually see the pepper on the wing, they dont rely on sauce alone to flavor them!) and come with blue cheese dressing that is definitely made in house. I know for a fact it's made in house because it's a little different every time we come. And not in a bad, inconsistent way. In a "oh this time they broke up the cheese a little less, look at these big delicious chunks" kind of way. The crab dip french bread is always on point. It tastes good without being overseasoned (I hate when people use too much dill and mask the sweet flavor of the crab) with just the right amount of melted cheese and lump meat on top. I've also had a few wraps and subs that were super tasty but I stick with my two old faithfuls. Wash it down with a cold draft, priced just right, and you have yourself a damn fine meal that is inspiring and amazing. If you haven't been yet, go. Not later - now. The inside is unassuming and has traditional sports bar decor (mostly ravens and orioles, obvi). Menu is extensive if uncreative, and offers a wide selection of food from burgers to quesadillas and breakfast food (until 11). I ordered the crab cake sandwich. Sandwiches DO NOT come with fries, you have to order them separately. It was a solid crab cake sandwich, large and fresh. The roll was a soft kind of cross between challah and a pretzel roll, and it was great with the crab cake. My coworkers both had burgers, and both enjoyed them. One did not like the roll (same type as mine) paired with the burger. The fries were good, nice and crispy. Particularly considering the area, which has a dearth of good restaurants, this is a great option for lunch, casual dinner, or sporting events. There are numerous TVs for the game watchers. It is in the same shopping center as the joppatowne Amish market. Good choice for the days the market is closed (sun thru wed). read more

By far one of my favorite places to eat. I have never gotten anything bad from here. All of their food is delicious. Im a huge fan of their mac and cheese and mashed potatoes. The herb roasted chicken is awesome. Literally everything is just great. We order delivery most times and it always comes way before the estimated delivery time and piping hot. When we sit down inside, the enviornment is that almost of Cheers where everyone for the most part lives in Joppatowne and knows each other. Service is always fast and friendly. My favorite type of place. Looks like a dive/dump from the outside and sports bar on the inside. That is why you don't judge a book by its cover. The service was great! At no point did I need something and have to ask They did a great job of checking in. Seemed like a really nice family run business. The food came out promptly, hot, and tasty. What blew my mind was the amount of vegaterian to vegan options they had on the menu. I have not seen so many options without going to a Indian place around here. Overall this is a amazing bar/restaurant that I will most definitely return to and encourage my friends to go to.
