I wasn't expecting good food in Harrisburg but was pleasantly surprised. You can order dishes individually, but most people will get a platter, I got the pancit, squid, and chicken soup dish. All the proteins were tender and flavorful. I also ordered the lumpia and lechon which were crowd pleasers. The owner was nice enoug to check up on all of us and gave us free banana eggrolls which were perfectly cripsy and not too sweet. If I'm ever in the area I would return. I also tried the coconut bun desserts which were bouncy and had the perfect amount of sweetness. Interior is homey and welcoming.

    Huge portions, delicious!

Hospitality and service is amazing! We had never tried Filipino food before and the staff was so helpful with describing everything and giving our group a taste of all the entrees. Then you order from a buffet style case and boy do they give you huge portions. They have a bar at the front of the restaurant where you can order drinks and bottled beer. We also tried the halo halo drink for dessert . This was a wonderful experience, we are definitely coming back !

Finally, authentic Filipino food in the Harrisburg area! Buffet-style and served to you, everything we tried was delicious and tasted like home cooking (tried: lecton, garlic rice, spaghetti, lumpia, chicken adobo, pusit, chopsoy, halo halo, gulaman, etc.) They have daily specials, plenty of bulk options you can buy. We can't wait to go back for the bakery desserts (esp there ube options)! Building says another restaurant though (since they're still new), was also glad it wasn't in the sketchy part of Harrisburg... free big-lot parking and cute mural at the back of the building. Friendly staff, and even a bar area by the entranceway. Highly recommend if you're craving real Filipino food. Can't wait to see future progress for this restaurant!

Little Saigon is your typical Vietnamese / Asian supermarket. It's located right off of Paxton…read moreStreet, near the intersection of 29th & Paxton and with easy access to i-83. they have all kinds of imported stuff from the orient, mostly korean, chinese, vietnamese, thai and indonesian. they have some meat and fish and fruits that i've always been suspicous about, (is it fresh or not, and if it wasnt would you tell me anyway, even if i asked politely?) i used to get certain types of food here, like oxtail and triple. sometimes they have it, sometimes not. there are sweet cakes, soy milk, longan, leche, durian, clam meat, fish, squid, cocount milk, crab meat, fish crackers, pineapples, corn, mie, noodles, .... pots, pans, plates, steamers, wonton skins, potatoes, cucumbers, carrots, single eggs, tomatoes, tarot, jackfruit, tofu, spring rolls, beansprouts, lettuce, jalapenos, bread rolls, vietnamese hoagies. a vietnamese hoagie is only 1.75, but well worth it is mega spicy and sweet at the same time. its basically a roll thats glazed wit ha sweet sauce, sliced orange & white carrots, sliced pork and jalapeno peppers. DELICIOUS!!!! they do have some types of indonesian herbs, spices and ketchup, seasoning stuff like that. but i have noticed short-dated items, and at least 1 item that had the expiration date blacked out (it was expired). Little Saigon is a staple of the community though. they guys who own this also own the jumbo buffet building next door, it also has a quiznos, Xpose nail salon and car repair shop, Autorizon. These people are seriously nice, they teach me one word of vietnamese each time I go there. And they usually have three indonesian people there too, so its cool i can practice my indonesian skills, which are terrible. They have bulletin board when you first walk in that has various ads and messages in vietnamese that advertise cars for sale, apartments and houses for rent, nail salons available, church services, transportation and so forth. There is usually a lady at the cash register, and they only take cash, credit or EBT.... and it actually IS wheelchair accessible. pulling out of this place and trying to turn left is impossible, but parking is usually alright. update 6-23-08 this place is under new ownership, they've changed things around, lowered some of the prices, but not make the vietnamese subs to-go for only 3 dollars, but ill tell you its not quite what im used to, good but not great.

My gf and I ordered chicken adobo to share and was told it was chicken. After eating it, we realized it was clearly pork. When I brought this up, the staff did not believe us and continued to insist it was chicken instead of taking the concern seriously. They didn't even try to look at the bowl they served me. Let me be clear this is not just about preference serving pork when a customer is told it's chicken can have major religious and dietary consequences. Many people avoid pork for religious reasons, and dismissing that concern is unacceptable. Accuracy and transparency with ingredients are basic expectations, especially when it comes to meat. We got a few baked good we got silvana was good. The biko was gods cooked well the sweetness was balanced. The restaurant was clean and quiet. The vibe was chill. But that doesn't outweigh the impact of being misled about what I was eating. Trust is broken, and I won't be returning. Gwenies need to train their staff and they need to clearly label meats and take customer concerns seriously especially when religion and dietary restrictions are involved. I have been a fan of Gwenies for years and would even travel to their original location in Rockville MD. Please make sure you check your bowls get to her correct meat you order! I won't be returning such a shame.
