My daughter and I ate there Monday evening. My Gyro was tasty. Fries were just okay. She got a side salad and it was very large. Good variety of vegetables in it. Her Turkey, Gravy, and Mashed potatoes tasted flavorful. The stuffing had no flavor! It tasted like bread and water. Would prefer Coke products. Our server was mediocre. This place... it lacked something. Filled the void and nothing else. Food was cold. Toast was cold. Too many disappointments. We had been hopeful in York to find something good on the way back from Lancaster, but ended up not being able to go to the places in the city we had scoped out. Somehow we picked this out of the hat, I'm not sure why. It was a diner so we figured, how bad could it be? Seemed busy and well liked by the locals but I have no idea why. While there was no hair in my food, it was just a very mediocre experience. The coffee was horrible. The service was fine, and the prices were modest, but the cook quality and flavor was horrible and they had some sort of a generic ketchup brand I have never heard of before. Sad. I will start by saying the breakfast was fantastic. Once I arrived I was seated within 3 minutes which says a lot since the place was packed in a Sunday. The bathroom was clean and the table was clean and equipped with all the necessary condiments. The hostess was phenomenal and treated everyone with a smile and positive energy. My one negative comment would be my server was not very attentive and when I asked for a side of toast she returned 6 minutes later asking me what I needed. I reminded her of the toast and decided I was almost done with my food. I continuously set my cup out for coffee. Before heading back on the road to go home to CT, we had breakfast at Round the Clock. This place is clearly a well oiled machine! We were in and out within 45 minutes, and we really appreciated the efficiency. The food was all fantastic and our server was great! If I lived here, I would definitely be a regular. read more

We got seated right away and they took or drink order. Their coffee was hot and good. They then took or food order. I got 2 eggs, 3 sausages, Home Fries and Rye Toast. My wife got a Belgium Waffle covered in fresh Strawberries. Our order came out fast and looked good. It was hot, tasty, and large portions. My eggs were done perfect and everything on my plate was good. They even buttered my Rye Toast. My wife's Belgium Waffle was very good, and the fresh strawberries were fresh. This review is for breakfast but we have eaten at this place many times in the past and they have good food, give you large portions at great price. You really can't go wrong dinning here. Stopped in with my granddaughter for breakfast after a long doctor's appointment..we placed our order and our food was brought out fast.. unfortunately my granddaughters food was cold and the biscuits were as hard as rocks..we sent the food back and ordered something simple eggs and bacon well the bacon was cold,tasted old and the worse was the amount of stops we had to make for the restroom on the way home...both myself and granddaughter was sick with severe upset stomach and diarrhea...not the way to go eating here..literally!! read more

A solid 3. I got a chef salad and it was good. My only criticism is everything on the salad seemed like it might have been chopped up a few days prior to being put on my salad. The green peppers seemed a little wilted. The onions looked a little dried out. Chicken noodle soup was delicious. Coffee was what you'd expect. This place is open 24 hours! Bless you! Basic diner fare here. Breakfast is pretty solid bet here 24 hours a day and arguably one of there strengths. They only do home fries here but I will say that it combined well with the country fried steak and eggs. Don't rule out biscuits and gravy here as there were better than I was expecting. I really wish they would consider seasoning just a little bit more as some items can be bland. I was not a fan of the crab cake sandwich and sadly would not recommend it. The meat loaf and mashed potatoes was respectable but I was hoping for just a little more flavor. There wait staff is very friendly and the restaurant was in overall very good condition which is more than I can say for the local Danny's nearby. I would love to try there deserts sometime but have not been able to, as of yet. If your looking for a sit down restaurant after 11pm this is your place! read more

So, you see I have had good experiences with Round A Clock. Rather okay food from last time. This time it was different... I will say, i got what i was expected though! ya know, food... I will also say it as poorly seasoned food, i ordered lasagna with garlic bread, and i say, i say, i say, the seasoning was rather sad on this lasagna. I wished it had some more flavor to it. The garlic bread didn't even taste like garlic bread. I FELT A SPEC of garlic, but that was it. Yes, it was toasted and it had significant butter, other than that? I got nothin. I think this is a 3.5 star diner. Menu was HUGE. Service was fairly good. Portions were good sized. I really wanted to try their ice cream options but we did not have time. Sad. They had a huge pie case and lots of ice cream options. If I ever return this is the first place I'm going for the ice cream! read more

Stopped in for a quick late lunch/brunch on a Friday. I ordered the French toast and honestly I've been dreaming about it ever since! It's made with challah bread so it's thick and buttery but perfectly fluffy not dense at all, served with powdered sugar and syrup on the side. I made mine the "platter" and got bacon, the bacon was good. Great portion size and even better price. I've eaten at Round the Clock many times. Today, we stopped in for lunch and had breakfast food. Plenty of room, comfortable table, super-friendly server. My "Round the Clock" omelet was *the best* I've ever had. I'm not sure why it was so good but it was very hot, light, fluffy, and full of great-tasting ingredients. Solid four stars. Lots of restaurants close around 8pm so it was cool to find this spot right by the hotel that stays open 24 hours. Good: the eggs and bacon were good. The real winner is the French toast. It was very good. Cooked to perfection. I would definitely come back and try more things off their menu. The service was really good. We visited this location twice on our vacation to York. The food was excellent and the service was exceptional. On our first visit we had breakfast and our waitress suggested the French toast. It was so fluffy and delicious. I tried the scrapple because I wanted to try something that was native to PA. I was not a fan but at least I can check that off my food bucket list. We tried other diners in the area but this one was by far our favorite. On my second visit I had a delicious Patty Melt on Rye with steak fries. It was perfect. I come from New Jersey, the land of good/amazing/great diners. I have been to Around the Clock several times, never by my choice, and I hate it. First, they are scofflaws and were fined during Covid for not closing. That's enough for me never to go there, but it was my mother-in-laws choice for Mother's Day so off we went. The political advertisements outside and on their sign for "real Republicans" (whatever that means?!?!?) was strike 2. So I went in already annoyed. The dining room was packed-- as in no social distancing at all. I kept my mask on, winding through the maze of packed tables. We were a party of 8 and were seated against a wall (thankfully) near a bank of windows. I ordered stuffed chicken breast with extra crispy french fries and pickled beets. The beets were okay. I got a bowl of mostly large diced onions that weren't quite pickles. The stuffed chicked consisted of a thinly pounded overcooked piece of chicken breast over a mound of stuffing, topped with a flavorless, gloopy white substance that was supposed to be gravy. My fries were pale and soggy. My husband had a stir fry that looked and smelled good. The server (a young man, possibly a teenager) messed up my son's chicken finger order and brought one that was intended for someone else. It hd BBQ sauce, my son asked for, and never received, honey mustard. The orders came out at different times so some of our party were eating while others were still waiting to get their food. Mopping the floors while I am dining. How NOT appetizing. They should only mop floors on parts of the restaurant that are closed to patrons. The breakfast pancake platter was good but it would have been a better experience without the the mopping. The waitress dropped off the food and never came back again because she was more focused on poking on her phone. read more

Granted I just ordered a Greek salad but it came out fast and everything was fresh. Service was great, waitress was sweet and attentive despite it being an ungodly hour which by the way is an awesome feature of this place (24/7 service with good food to boot). Place was clean and had just the right amount of people looking for food in the after hours of the days. Desserts looked really good but I did not dare try one at this time of day/night. Followed from an amazing dinner night b4 at "The First Post", we came here after friend's daughter's skating competition HUNGRY for BRUNCH, and I knew that this place would not disappoint - and it didn't! A spacious local diner with WONDERFUL waitstaff, we squeezed into a booth surrounded by a full-house Saturday brunch crowd just chattin' & chompin' having a great time. That diner coffee was spot-on, and seriously everything was good... from bacon that kids kept on stealing from my plate, delicious omelettes, and their CHALLAH FRENCH TOAST was the king! Not too doughy but just the right amount of fluff and crisp, that thing rocked. I also ordered corned beef hash & a side of grits which just took me to heaven, drizzling in butter. Even their toast that came with the omelette was good. I mean, I'm not the one that skated... but I ate like a champion. Our waitress was just the best hostess ever, so friendly and engaged our friend's little girl about her skating competition and congratulated her on the silver medal she had on around her neck. (Tsk, showoff) In a day where diners have mostly disappeared, this is a solid diner with nostalgic 80s/90s vibe going strong, serving great food, at least for brunch! If you like dinner with a side of explosive diarrhea, this is the place to go! Thank goodness I don't live very far away. When I was about 5 minutes from my house, I started getting a horrendous stomach ache that felt like labor pains! My stomach started rumbling and I started moaning. I barely got my vehicle parked before I jumped out and made a beeline for my bathroom. I barely made it and it was by the grace of almighty God that I didn't go in my pants! So if you like to pay to get sick, then this is definitely the place to go! They will even force you to pay 18% gratuity whether the waitress/waiter earned it or not. It goes right on your check and you have no say whatsoever about it! And it's not posted on the entrance door or even on the menu warning you. Oh no, it's only posted at the register where you go to pay your bill after you consumed their toxic, poisonous, substandard food. And anyway, what happened to the customer paying for what they eat and then deciding if they want to tip. And if so, how much. This will be the last time I ever eat at this nasty joint. Clean diner that's 24 hours. While it's one of the few places to eat in town late at night, but the quality if very average in regards to diner food. Breakfast, lunch, and dinner aren't anything special. Very average. But average isn't bad. Average just isn't great or exceptional. Came here for dinner after arriving from our hotel (which was a short walking distance-literally right next door) and let me get this straight- PA and its portions are greatly appreciated. Right off the bat, prior to taking our orders, she asked if we would like to order on separate orders which is nice. Came in with a party of 4 and had two separate checks. I ordered the clock signature burger with Swiss cheese which came with a side of onion rings and my brother ordered the chopped sirloin steak with a side of French fries and chopped salad (see receipt for pricing). Waitress was very friendly and accommodating. Portions for everything is huge. (A+ for the price paid). Everyone at the table said their food was great. The sides that came along with the meals were surprisingly big as well. The only thing that I didn't enjoy was the onion rings that I've ordered. It was way too greasy once bitten. Felt like it was drenched/soaked in oil prior to coating with the breadcrumbs but nether less, it didn't ruin my experience here at all.
