Visited the Starlight Diner for the first time for breakfast with my dad one Tuesday morning around 9am. The restaurant was very crowded, but they have a ton of seating available and we were directed to a booth as soon as we walked into the building. Our server was over within a minute and took our drink order. We ended up ordering a good amount of food because my dad was coming off a 1.5 day pre-operation fast. Needless to say, we took a few leftovers to go. The food was delicious, though. I personally had a breakfast special with 2 eggs, french toast, sausage patties, and hashbrowns. I added cheese to the scrambled eggs. All of the food came out piping hot and exactly as ordered. The portions for the pancakes and chicken fried steak were huge and the quality was fantastic for a diner. We left very full and very happy! Would definitely recommend.

This is on the under 12 kids menu and my daughter liked it as well.

The food looked good and it tasted delicious . It was really busy but the service was great and there is alot of parking as well. I took the rest of the food home and ate it.

I come here a lot and it can be very good.I have hit times that if it was my first impression I would not return. Like all places it has it bad days. And it is easy to pick a place apart. Service and food can be inconsistent. Overall this place is good for food and service. I have tried enough on their menu that I know what I liked. And there are things on their menu I would not order again .

Sausage and cheese omelette

Would recommend this to all! Only needed to wait 5 - 7 minutes at 12:30 on a Sunday for a table. The service was super quick even though it was packed. Our waitress was fast to take our drink and food orders and was very friendly. Food came out within 10- 12 minutes. It's a loud environment as a typical diner is. Food was prepared with fresh ingredients. Pricing is the best I've seen in a long time.

#11 - A white plate contains scrambled eggs with green peppers, a cooked sausage patty, and home fries with onions and mushrooms.

Ms. Brittney was welcoming and ensured I was comfortable. Food came out quickly and fresh.

First time here. Wow, huge menu selection. Diner style food & decor. Busy, but no wait time on Saturday around noon. Service was good. We will definitely go back!

The waitress & staff was rude until I believe the owners came in. The chocolate milk was expired. Won't be coming here again.

We watched all the dancers and agreed we could never remember all the steps if we tried After a bit we went upstairs into the restaurant. Wow! A real sensory trip into modern Mexico. The place is decorated to the max! Seating was arranged into booths around the perimeter and tables within, with very comfy padded seats and ease of moving about. We were seated immediately, given menus, chips and salsa, and even a small dish of queso blanco - which is always extra elsewhere. We ordered Table-side Guacamole and were treated to a show and delicious Guac. I asked for, and was brought, a dish of hot salsa that was tasty and with a good amount of heat. Sis-in-law chose the Sonora Pollo, my wife picked the Burrito Fajitas, and bro-in-law went for the Quesdilla Rellenos. Trying to stay more vegan minded I selected the Quesdilla Sonoras. Oh, and I asked about Tamales and ordered one, even though not on the menu. Our food came shortly, piping hot and delicious. I looked at my Tamale and had to try it first. Yum! It was the best Tamale I've eaten since a trip to Texas 30 years ago! The perfect ratio of meat and masa. In retrospect I would have just ordered three Tamales and a side of Frijoles! My Enchilidas was excellent also and half taken home. Food was superb, service immaculate, ambiance terrific. Five stars around.

TLDR: Time capsule family restaurant whipping up delicious home style meals for a reasonable price…read more Come for the broasted chicken! Vibe: 5/5. Located on the outskirts of Hanover, Clair's has been a cornerstone family restaurant for the area since the 70s. Back in the 90s, I have fond memories of going to Clair's with my family for Friday night dinners. The restaurant itself has mostly left unchanged from what I can remember, but in a good way. The bright yellow sign out front, the ice cream cold display case at the entrance, to the charming booths with the removable partitions between each just play into childhood memories of simpler times. With how old the overall restaurant is, everything is well maintained and very clean. A testament to the hard working staff and devout ownership. Service: 5/5. We went on a Saturday night around 6pm for dinner and had a wonderful service. My party of 4 arrived to a fully packed restaurant, however we were fortunate to get a booth table after a brief 5 minute wait. The restaurant does not take reservations, but you can have Google call the restaurant to check on the wait time, a nice convenience. Our waitress was outstanding from start to finish. She was very friendly and did an excellent job keeping our drinks filled. Food came out punctually and piping hot. Overall, Clair 's staff has their service down pact and truly makes you feel at home. Food: 5/5. Exactly how I remembered. The core menu has remained mostly unchanged from what I remembered coming as a kid. From your classic turkey and gravy to Salisbury steak, all your classic family restaurant favorites are here. On top of that, they have daily specials that have a more modern/seasonal twist on the classics. At the time of my visit, they were serving Yuengling beer battered haddock which I decided to order. The fish was perfectly fried and had hardy portions. Speaking of portion size, each dinner included your choice of 2 side items from a dozen or so items. Highly recommend the breaded zucchini as well as the fried corn fritters, both of which were childhood favorites of mine that lived up to my nostalgia hype. Dinner prices range between $10-15 per platter, which is very reasonable for the amount of food you receive. Don't forget to save room for dessert, as Clair's dishes up lovely hand spun milkshakes and sundaes using Hershey's ice cream. Overall, Clair's offers up the perfect casual dinner for those that just want to kick back and remember simpler times

We thought they were, too, as it looked like there weren't many lights on inside, from outside the restaurant, and there was one little lone car sitting in the parking lot aside from ours. We called to verify that they were in fact open, so we went inside, and were greeted by a sign saying to grab our own menus and silverware (odd) and to pick our own seats (and with several tables still having dirty dishes on them, that limited our choices a very tiny bit). We were very quickly warmly greeted by the lone person we saw inside, who was probably a manager having to do 84 different jobs at once due to short staffing. She never rushed us, got our drinks to us fast, took our orders and got our food out to us pretty quickly. Our Pepsi drinks tasted slightly off, but that didn't stop us from drinking them. I really enjoyed my Belgian waffle very much, though my side of scrapple was a little lackluster and extra crispy on the outermost part. My wife liked her sandwich (though I already can't remember what she ordered, it was probably a club sandwich). She thoroughly enjoyed her side of coleslaw, however. Long story short, I'm only knocking a star off due to the drink and scrapple that I didn't enjoy. Perhaps if we came here on a busier day, things might have been a little improved. I'd definitely be willing to return again sometime.
