Salad and roll

The food was hot and fresh. The chicken was truly seasoned. I can always appreciate a fresh batch of mashed potatoes with real gravy. The waitress made sure I had good recommendations, for what I had not tried previously. The atmosphere felt like the neighborhood restaurant, where your presence is appreciated.

I do like the diner food - so of course it was a matter of time until I found this place. Stopped in about an hour before closing & there was still quite a crowd in the front dining area of the restaurant (learned later that there is another big section around the side of the restaurant a well). We were greeted quickly and had drinks in a snap. After making our decisions (I had the Hot Fresh Roasted Turkey Sandwich®), it wasn't long before we were united with our entrees - good home-style food! Definitely a friendly atmosphere - I get the impression there were a lot of 'regulars' dining there that evening as well. We were quite happy with our experience here - would definitely return!

A great place! They were very busy but kept up with it no problem. We loved our breakfast .

The service was good even though they were busy. The boasted chicken was excellent. Three at our table had the turkey dinner.

Well, this is my last review of 2025 and what a better place to conclude this year than Big Mikes…read moreCrabhouse ! We decided to stop in here as it's been a while since we last started here and the seafood is simply outstanding. The staff is very welcoming helpful and they will answer any questions that you may have and they make sure you're well taken care of. We had a pound and a half of the steam shrimp which are an extremely nice size and done to perfection and we also had the crabcake and two fried shrimp which were butterfly and the flavor is just incredible and the crabcake all crab and it was just amazing . The location is very easy. It's right next to the Hanover post office on the corner. There's plenty of parking along the street and in the back in their small parking lot and they are known for their crabs and there were people coming and left and right picking up their orders and they do a really nice business here. The inside is always very clean. Tables are clean and it's a small place but it's very relaxing and you can bring your own bottle as well. So if you're in the area and you're looking for some good crabs, shrimp and seafood give this place a try you will not be disappointed . Happy New Year !

Happy New Year's Eve at Big Mike's Crabhouse!!! The food was absolutely amazing! From the onion…read morerings, crabcake, that is full of crab meat, the fried shrimp, and the fresh freshly steamed shrimp, were just all so very delicious!!! This place in Hanover is very well known for their seafood, and by the pictures, you can see why. Everyone there is so very nice and accommodating. This is not a fancy place, you can go dressed very casually and enjoy all kinds of seafood. If you wish to, you can take your own adult beverage to enjoy with your meal. We saw a couple sitting next to us that brought their own beer. They could enjoy while they were cracking their crabs! my husband ordered a pound and a half of the large steamed shrimp that are served to you hot and with their own cocktail sauce, they were so big we could not even finish all of them, so we brought them home to enjoy today. We will be returning soon as we really enjoy the seafood here!!!!!!

The earliest it would allow was 11:45 AM. At around 3 o'clock that afternoon, I called and explained That I needed to pick up the order by 1115 the next day and could I give the order verbally on the phone. The person that answered the phone said yes. I gave him our order which was five sandwiches and salads and told him I would see him tomorrow. His reaction was tomorrow? Yes, I need to pick it up at 11:15 AM tomorrow. I asked if that would be a problem and was told no. I decided to call in the morning to confirm that they had my order and that it would be ready at 11:15. They answered the phone at 11 o'clock and after a few minutes, the hostess said that yes they had the order. I told her I would see her soon. When I got there at 11:15, the order wasn't ready and she did not have anything in her computer so I had to verbally give her the order again so she could ring it up for me. The order was not ready until approximately 11:40 AM. This was 40 minutes after I called to verify that they had the order and then it would be ready and about 20 minutes after I needed it to be ready as my lunch appointment began at 11:30 and I had a 15 minute drive. When the hostess finally gave me our food, I asked if there were utensils inside to which she replied, yes. I got to the office and there were no utensils and my salad had no dressing. Eating lettuce, cucumbers and cabbage without dressing is not very appealing. I enjoyed the chili. It was flavorful and had a good temperature. I will need to eat my salad when I get home and could get some dressing. It looks like a fun restaurant for seafood and craft beers and the bar look like it would be a great place to sit on a Friday night, but I was disappointed in the service I received for the lunch order.

If you love large portions and hot yummy food I highly recommend it if you have time. The only issue I have here is this place NEEDS a proper staff. I really do like the folks they run the joint. But the service is inconsistent at best from visit to visit and even on a slow day with an empty dining space it can take a while to get served. Knowing that we went in today not expecting much more than large tasty portions. We took the whole family as a good bye brunch as my oldest his partner who we're visiting with my grandson. Im not sure what happened today but the single little old lady who runs the front was all over the place. She was polite and professional but you could tell she was overwhelmed. It took quite a while to get menus and waters then quite a while longer than that to get to order. She took the order and then we waited. And waited and waited. As we waited the littles started to devolve. And then, we waited some more. From the moment we sat down to the time food arrived was about an hour and a half. By then the kids were done. My wife was done and I was done. The food was hot. Some under cooked and my meal was missing the main component. That mouth watering and coma inducing pastrami. All said and done it was one of the worst dining experiences I've had. No one was happy when we left. And that's a huge bummer. The food here is too good for the experience to be so bad. There were apologies and eventually the owner came out and compensated the entire meal. But that's not a good business model. Will I go back? Absolutely. They could cuss me out and I'd go buy the pastrami even if it fell on the floor. It's that good. But I probably won't ever go back with the kids. They don't have the stamina for it and we really have enough time to truly enjoy it as we would like to.
